The love of the weekend! Maybe things will finally slow down for me. I feel like somebody bumped the fast forward button and I can't shut it off!!!

Judy, I almost fell off my chair laughing, yea I also belong to the clean plate club! I have the worst gult about tossing anything! Lucky for me we are flat broke and not eating out at the moment!!

Robin that is so wild, I also got kind of sick when I drank some green tea the other night. I chalked it up to me being a big sissy, but if you have that problem too I don't feel like such a big baby! You should have heard me whining!

Paige, Yea on the weight loss!! I can't wait to see a 20lb loss!!!!!

Kerry, sounds like your really losing inches too, yea!!!! I also have middle problems, it is the VERY LAST THING TO GO! Honestly, I never have had a flat tummy, not even when I was a teenager, I had a pooch thing going on, but now I have a mac truck tire problem! I feel like that tire guy on TV, the Michellen Man!

Joetta, I'm impressed with you chosing your sons classes, when I was in high school I had to pick my own. Needless to say it was a dumb idea to let a teenager pick their own classes. I took the easiest ones and didn't challenge myself at all. Another stupid teenage mistake!

I went to the Dr. on Thursday, I weighed 1lb less than I did last year, I forgot what I weighed last year and I was a little disappointed, but it was better than going there with a 10lb weight gain, which is what I had before we all started hanging out! We talked about my gas issue, my tummy keeps rumbling and I can't seem to pass the gas. It is really uncomfortable, she said it was time to add fiber, I had to laugh, I remember being in her office when I was really sick telling them how I was eating a box of immodium a day, we have come along way since all that!

I am having one more major problem, with an ingrown toe nail! Oh does it hurt, I'm trying real hard not to cut it out, which I usually do coz it starts to hurt so bad! I can't go to the Dr., nobody can touch my toes and to think about a needle in my toe is just more than I can stand. If anybody knows of anything that will help while I'm letting them grow out so I can cut them straight across instead of clean back causing this problem let me know!

All right I'm going to run, and welcome Brooklyn Chick!!

Go, Paige!!! I love those nice round numbers. Congrats on your progress. Hope you are enjoying the rodeo. I'm not sure what's up with the green tea. Some people's stomach lining is sensitive to the tannic acid in tea (and in wine), so if it's still disagreeing with you, maybe you shouldn't force it. You mght also try decaf green tea, maybe that will be milder. I drink green or black tea in the morning, then herbal or decaf teas in the afternoon, when my tongue thinks I'm hungry. I've learned to like mint tea--somehow it signals "we're done eating for a while." Works for me, anyway.

Joetta, I hope you're enjoying the heck out of your birthday celebration. Think of it this way: you probably won't have quite this much fun if you're around to mark the next fifty years, so enjoy this one

Lori--You're a Clean Plate Clubber, too? I'm actually a little embarassed sometimes about eating every last kernel of rice on my plate. I've noticed that normal-sized people check in with their stomachs and stop themselves if they're full. What's that about? Sorry to hear about your toe. One of my exes always cut his toenails in an odd way, with a little notch in the middle, said it kept the nails from growing inward. I don't know, he had lots of weird theories....

If you don't hear from me for a few days, it's because I'm traveling. I'll try to drop in again and say hello. In the meantime, be well, and keep losing!

Thanks Judy!! You sure know how to help me get things in perspective! --Makes being 50 sound like its not such a bad alternative. I celebrated tonight with a nephew that is 24 today--I am more than twice his age!!!
But oh well, my teeth are still real and don't fly out when I blow out candles.......

Lori, here is a trick that I used on an my Mom to help with her ingrowns...Soak the nails till they are a little softer, then gently lift the edge of the nail that tends to grow in.(I used a baby spoon so there were no sharp edges {and I left that spoon in the nail tool kit} ) Do this on a regular basis and it tends to "train" the nail to stay where it belongs. Of course you probably don't want to do that now with the infection, but once it clears up, it might help down the road. Hope yours heals soon!

Have a great tomorrow!

Default Happy Sunday!

I love the weekend, but they sure don't last long enough. My dh, dog, and I went for a nice long hike this morning, about 10AM. I'm not a morning person, to is as early as I will do a hike. We hiked on an old logging road, and we saw lots of turkey, elk, muledeer, and whitetail tracks. But all we saw animal wise were two ducks and I think a whitetail deer. But it was sunny, and about 50 degrees. And absolutely beautiful. I'm glad we did it this morning, because now I'm chained to the washer and dryer for the rest of the day.

The only thing I don't get about the tea is that I can drink it in the afternoon, and I'm fine. It's just the morning that it makes me nauseated. I've pretty much switched to plain, herbal tea, because it counts as water - no caffiene or sugar.

Hey Joetta, your'e only as old as you let yourself be. My driver's license (and my knees sometimes) says I'm 38, but I have a young heart. And I try to have a young attitude, although I have to say....."I just don't understand these kids today!" OMG, I sound just like my grandmother!

Congratulations on the weight loss Paige!! -20 is fantastic! I can't wait to see that number. You should feel very proud of a hard-earned mini-victory. And I'm sure you'll have no problem on the other 8.

Kerry, it's definitely got to be genetics. I have ALWAYS had a flabby stomach with a pooch just below my belly button. I hate it. I had it even when I weighed only 125 (I'm 5'10") and looked anorexic (bad period in my life). I definitely have my maternal grandmother's stomach, and my paternal grandmother's arms. No matter how many pushups or arm exercises I do, I will always have flabby arms, too. Somethings just aren't fair. But my legs aren't bad, I guess. Got to try to see the positive.

I don't know that I'm not a clean plate clubber, but ever since I've gotten serious with my weight loss, I lose my appetite around other people who eat bad. My mother-in-law really needs to lose a lot of weight, too. But she's the type to make excuses for everything. Andto listen to her talk about all the health problems she has, while she's shoveling in more food than she can literally fit in her mouth, is a bit disgusting. Mainly, because I know there have been times where that was me. Way too many times.

Well, sorry to ramble on so long. My bi-weekly weighin is tomorrow. If I've lost weight, I get to eat my Robin's eggs Easter candy. I'm so excited. I'll let you know how it goes. I was able to get into one of my practice pants yesterday, although they were a little snug in the waist. I was able to zip and button them while standing.

Later, girls.

Default Yay for exercise!

Hi Ladies - I'm making a quick post before I head to lay down and read my book for the night. I'm reading "Wicked: the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West" and I'm really digging it.

I'm exhausted but in a good way. DH and I went on a bike ride and then for a hike later. It was about 75 degrees out and I started working on my tan! We also purchased our tomatos and peppers for our garden we're determined to grow. I also purchased some herbs to start my very own herb garden. I feel so grown up!

I guess DH & I might qualify as thost kids DH is only 25 and keeps me young when it comes to music and trends. He's a DJ and stays hip and tuned in. I'm sure we seem obnoxious to those older than us sometimes, but our parents seem to like us!

So I am trying to exercise more and see if I can tackle this tire around my belly. I must have my Dad's genes bc he has this problem. My mom on the other hand carries the bulk of her weight in the rear. I got it bad from both sides on both ends!

I can't believe it is Sunday, but I'm only working 2 days this week. I can't wait to sign out and make for the beach. I did get somewhat good news tonight that Ohio U is checking my references for a job I've applied for up there. I guess I do exist! Patience is so hard.

Shouts out to all of you *HELLO!* I hope you had wonderful productive weekends. If I could wish Mondays away I would! Goodnight!

Unhappy The weekend's over!

Why does the weekend just fly by!!!! I really need a job where I work 4 days and have 3 days off. I could really go for that. But I will have spring break in another week, if I can make it through this one.

This weekend was beautiful. We had 2 days of 85 degree weather. Yesterday I cleaned house most of the day. We were going to take the kids to the rodeo but we have so much to do before my dad comes next weekend. He is so critical if the yard and house are not immaculate!!! I think for some reason he thinks he has an investment in our house. He gave us $20,000 as a wedding gift to use as a down payment for our first house. So even though this is not the same house I guess he still feels like he has the right to complain if he doesn't think we are doing our best to keep it up. So that means we work our A-- off this next week to get everything in order. I think my dad is a big part of why I have always had issues with my weight. It has always been the one thing that I can control and he can't. I'm sure I could spend many hours in therapy discussing that!!!

We worked in the yard today and hopefully we will be able to finish up a few things as long as the weather stays nice. I can't wait for Day light Savings Time to come!!! I am ready for more daylight!!!!!!! I hate coming home from work and it is already dark out.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Good Morning Chickies !
I too agree the weekends are way to short! Althought if I would get off my but on Sat. I might get more done. I had a great weigh in this morning 156 I can't believe it! That's the most I've lost since we all started 2 & 1/2 lbs.

Paige, that's not fun if your dad is that critical, that really makes it hard to relax and just enjoy! My parents live across the road, so they see the good, and the bad.

Joetta, thank you for the advice, I will be trying it this week. My chubby belly gets in the way of me really getting in and messing with my feet too bad, but I just can't stand for anybody else to touch them. This is one of my weird quirks.

Kerry, I love a garden! My dad usually has a nice one, but he is not doing too well this year, I hope my brother will still plant one! There is still snow on the ground here so it won't be for a little while before we plant anything. OH U, gee Kerry, that's getting pretty close and I think they have a flat tax, not property taxes. Some real perks!!

Robin, hearing about your hikes makes me really long for dayligt savings time too. I miss getting out and I hope we have a warmer summer this year. I'm looking forward to haning out at the river with my friends. (hopefully looking much slimmer) Robin I also suffer from flab, the only thing that helps is weight lifting. I use Joyce Vederal's one book, Definition. It takes less than 30 mins. 3 days a week, and really tightens up those bad spots.

Alright, I'm going to jump in the shower, chat with you all later!!!

Good morning ladies! Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been busy since we came home from our cruise. I have also fallen off track a little. I don't think that I have gained any weight but I haven't done as well as I was was before.

Well, don't have much time. I need to get to Curves before they close for the afternoon. I will try to get back on here before I go to work today.

Just got back from Curves. Today was weigh in and measurements. Since starting on 1/18/05 I have lost:

2 inches in my bust
3.5 inches in my waist
3 inches in my abs
3.5 inches in my hips
1.5 inches in my thighs
.5 inch in my arms
15.5 pounds
3.2 % body fat.

I was so excited when we took my measurements. Even with going on vacation and eating like a and falling off track these past few weeks I still have done great. It is looking at these numbers that makes me keep pushing even when I feel like it would be so much easier to just be fat!!

Jen that is FABULOUS!!! That's some serious incentive to KEEP IT UP!!

I weighed in this morning and I am still at 150 Although I believe with my increased activities I am gaining some muscle and fitting into clothes better, so I guess I can't complain. I am wearing the most wonderful size 10 skirt today and feeling good about myself.

Lori - you're right about OU being close to you. I've done some more research and it is looking like a good possibility. One of the best perks would be that they allow the tuition benefit to go to the spouse and that would mean FREE tuition for DH's last two years of college! That's a 20k benefit in my book! WOW! I sure hope they call for an interview, but I shouldn't get my hopes up too much.

Alright I have to go work now. TTYL!

Default I lost some!

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you all have a great week.

Paige: Just because your father gave you a wedding present to put towards a house, doesn't give him any say so in how you keep it. My father was always critical of me, too. And now I just have to be myself, for my health and sanity. If he doesn't like the way I do something, he doesn't have to be there while I do it. But then my dad lives in Texas, and I don't see him very often. Hang in there anyway, once he's gone, you can go back to being yourself. And enjoying it!

Kerry: Good luck with OU. I'll be praying that you get called for an interview. That would be great. And the benefit of your dh being able to finish school would be wonderful. And don't be down that you aren't down below 150 yet. You've possibly hit a plateau. Besides, muscle weighs more than fat, but looks a hundred times better. So, if you're clothes are fitting good, then you must be doing something right. Keep it up!

Jenn: Congratulations on the measurements! It's got too feel good. I usually go by my measurements, too, but I'm not going to let the people at work see me do that. And I weigh in here at work because I have a challenge going on with one of my coworkers. I bet you can get into your practice pants now!

My weigh-in was this morning, and I've lost 3 pounds. That's a pound a half a week, which is fine with me. I updated my bar at the bottom. And I decided that since my highest weight last year was 204 at the doctor's office, I'm going to use that on my status bar. That makes ten lbs I've lost since the end of last summer. I'm now working harder on getting it off, so hopefully it won't take as long to lose the next 10. But I'm not giving up if it does.

Take care all.

Default Greetings Ladies!

Robin on your loss!! I think it's great to think about where you are compared to your highest weight. I was thinking about that recently about how I weighed 168 this time last year so I gotta look better now than I did then (aside from the errant gray hairs, increasing wrinkles and seemingly darkening mustache ).

Well this will be my last post before we head out of town. Tomorrow we're packing and loading up to head to my folks to spend the night and drop the dog off. Their house guests cancelled so they're watching Bella for us now, which makes me feel better. Then we're leaving from there to Clearwater and we'll be 2 hours closer.

I'm going to try really hard to not put on any weight while I'm there and enjoy myself. I know my biggest enemy will be the alcohol, but what can you do?

So and everyone hang in there! Have a good week/weekend and I'll see you next week!

Unhappy So much for that.

So much for the 3lbs I lost. I think I've just gained them all back. That proverbial wagon must have hit a huge pothole and threw me off. And then it backed up to see what it hit, and ran me over. And then, to continue on its way, it ran me over again. I have eaten nothing today, but junk food, except for a banana. I was running late for work, so I ate a banana on the way to work. When I got to work, I was still hungery, so I got a bag of chocolate-chip cookies from the vending machine. Then for lunch, I ate several (6) Little Debbie snack cakes , with chocolate milk . And because that obviously wasn't enough. I went to Taco Bell and got a Mexican pizza. They were all good, but it's going to take forever for me to burn all that off. I think I'm stressing about all the stuff I need to do before we start construction on our house. So, I decided to take tomorrow off from work and get as much of it completed as I can. Then I won't stress about it. Now I'm nauseated.
