I'm Hanging in

Hey Gang

I'm still hanging in there. Today I have a cold and feel blah. My weight is back up to 170, but I've lost an inch off my tummy bulge. Go figure :?: :?:

GLEN and CATHY--way to go in your losses! Keep up the good work.

DEBORAH--that is quite the spring cleaning! What are you wanting to do?

cat90 04-05-2004 02:35 PM

Hi Girls and Glen

Susanne, congrats on the inch loss :cp: i hope you feel better today :)

Trixi 04-05-2004 07:56 PM

I am still around as well....weighloss has stalled most likely because my eating well and exercising has stalled as well.....I am getting my motivation back and hopefully will stay on track n ow...just a wuick note today but I really wanted to say hi. Got to go cook dinner for my daughter now!

Dale

cat90 04-06-2004 04:27 PM

Come on Dale ;) you have been doing so well :D

I've just walked/jogged another 3mls :tread: and i'm about to make myself a nice healthy lunch :T things are going good i just need to cut back a bit at the weekends or at least keep it to just one day ;)

Deborah17 04-07-2004 12:28 AM

healthy is good...keep it up..

I am so busy changing the direction of my life that I failed to notice that is the beginning fo the new month...I am still at 230...but I have lost another few inches so I am happy with that

Spring into spring and enjoy what weather we can have...a balmy 15 today and a forecast of snow for tomorrow...love these prairie springs...and flooding expected over easter...

Deborah

Deborah17 04-08-2004 12:08 AM

I have lost 3.5" although the weight has stayed the same......but that is a great thing....

I am busy looking at changes. I realized that, for the first time in more than 20 years, I have really no one but myself to consider. So I am applying for writing jobs all over the country...I have always said I want to write...so now I can ...reporter jobs...I have even appied for a marketing job on a cruise ship. Imagine cruising the Caribbean inciting people to shop...all the dancing I can do and free room and board....

But I have decided that regardless, I am out of day care. The housing market here is hot and I will move downtownm if I am working in the city, and e close to thegym...I have already found a great apartment...so life is moving along...

On the plus side, I am not eating nearly as much as I am just too busy to chow down...hopefully there will be a scale change this month....

New goal for April.... at least 5 pounds...to 225... and another 3 inches....

cat90 04-08-2004 06:46 PM

Well Done with the inches lost Deborah :cp: :goodluck: with the marketing job!

I'm having a really lazy day  after a really productive one yesterday  but i had a few drinks with hubby last night ;) so i think thats why  I have'nt exercised for 2 days :( i'm busy spring cleaning and doing stuff around the house but I'll definitely be back on track in the morning :D

Trixi 04-09-2004 11:32 AM

Happy Friday all!!!! Though the last two weeks I have slipped quite a bit there were days that I was OP. I had a weigh-in this morning and really expected a gain of about five pounds....I was down two! I am so happy and now feel really motivated to get back on track again! I have lost 24 pounds so far and I will loose the rest!

Thanks for the support and I too am really into the spring cleaning at this time of the year. I plan to do alot of cleaning today and I am sure that counts as exercise especially last weeks. Still a little sore from it....so I must have worked out!

Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Dale

cat90 04-10-2004 02:24 AM

Well Done Dale :cp: i've been busy spring cleaning the kitchen today :stress: i did'nt realise just how many tupperware/rubbermaid containers i had  hubby asked me if i used them all and i replied no  so he said well why did you buy them then? :halfempty  think this was me  :lol3: i'm really tired but just wanted to check in before i go to bed, will see you tomorrow

hefty1 04-10-2004 09:50 AM

 wtg trixi. i am going to do some cleaning today. happy easter. :chocokiss: it's :coffe2: time.
:) glen

cat90 04-11-2004 01:37 PM

After 4.5hrs of cleaning kitchen cupboards and the contents  i got fed up and went to the mall ;) eating is all to pot  if i don't put the time into planning meals i just end up grabbing the most convenient thing  will get back on track in the morning. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE :D

Trixi 04-12-2004 10:19 PM

Sunday as I was patting back back for the loss with one hand the other was eating a turkey leg drowned in gravy....sniff. I am really really really going to stay OP this time I can do it and I will do it!!!!!! darnit!

Cat I am the same way I cook all my meals for the week on Sunday....only thing about this week is I pretty much ate them all on Sunday too!!

Hope you are all doing great....bed time now, Night

Dale

cat90 04-13-2004 03:21 PM

 @ hard to make a goal when you're eating like a hockey player

Still not doing too good here  between the easter eggs and working around the property (so i have no time to treadmill) i'm pretty much off the program right now  weight is stable so thats a good thing at least ;) this is a temporary gliche and i will get back on track once i've caught up with everything :D

Trixi 04-14-2004 10:38 PM

I woke up this morning got on the scale and it told me that I had loss all the Easter weight and anonther pound! I also spent most of the last night reading posts that we all did at the beginning of the thread and CAT I have to say thank you for keeping it up.....you are the reason this thread stays alive and I am thankful you here!!!! I know you will get back on track it's already been proven that you are in it for the long haul and I am going to do my best to be there right beside you as well.

Thanks for alll the kind words, the motivation and pretty much just for being you!!!

Dale

Deborah17 04-15-2004 01:26 AM

Well,

I started a new program last week. One day butt/legs/abs and of course 30 minutes cardio and the next day all upper body and of course 30 minutes cardio...with a day off to do nothing, or of course 30 minutes cardio, ..and I am already feeling an improvement.

My legs and arms ached, in a good way, he first few times, but they are fast becoming accustomed to the new routine...it takes longer though...almost 2 hours in total, what with waiting a minute between each of the sets of repetitions...and there are 10 exercises that I am doing...

Fortunately, the scale has me down a pound...and that is with the ful slab of ribs I had at dinner with my X's mom last night...so I am definitely doing something right.... YEAH!!!!!!

I hope spring is in everyone's step... and you are all doing well...and that is the reason there are so few posts these days...

Deborah

Trixi 04-15-2004 09:23 PM

Good Evening!!! It's been so busy at work and at home I barely have time to do any exercise because I have been trying to get it in in the eveings. But it's just not happening. I get home at 7 and still have to cook dinner....then it's really late and I am pooped. So I have set my alarm extra early and going to attempt it in the morning. Wish me Luck!!!

Hope everyone is doing really well!!!!!

Dale

cat90 04-16-2004 12:33 AM

Hi Girls,

Dale, :goodluck: with getting up ;) i'm lucky in that i don't have to work so can pretty much make the time during the day to do something :) i did take a temp job just before christmas and after about 3 weeks i quit exercising for the exact same reason as you so i know where you are coming from  thanks for the nice comments btw ;)

Deborah, girl that is some workout  glad that you are seeing results :cp:

I had a really busy day today :stress: more spring cleaning then out into the garden digging and powerwashing the car and truck. I can feel it now

Trixi 04-17-2004 12:27 PM

Hi. I am new to this computer stuff but I thought I would like to join you all in this forum. You seem very friendly and encouraging and I could use all I can get.
I am currently attempting again to get rid of the weight I gained for my pregnancy 3 1/2 years ago. I did manage to lose alot of it to fit into a bridesmaid's dress for my brother's wedding 2 years ago (the rest of them were at least 15 years younger than me - so you can imagine the style- spaghetti straps, down to the floor) but it has managed to find its way back to me.
I am currently back to work after a 3 month leave of absence and it is good to get some structure (and pay) back into my life. I have been somersizing for a week and I feel it is working well. I feel much better - mentally anyways. I haven't got on the scale yet as I want to wait until I can feel a difference in how my clothes fit. I will probably not be able to wait that long though and as I don't own one, will probably head next door to my neighbour (my mom) to see how I am doing. I should probably buy one - that is probably one of the reasons I have kept this weight on...
The weather is starting to finally turn nice - raining today but I like to walk in the rain with my little girl.
Anyhoo, I should get moving... I have lots of planning to do for my week of eating.....I find it I fail to plan, I plan to fail.....

Trixi 04-18-2004 10:24 AM

Wellcome Time@again,

Rain sucks yeh? I hate storms and it looks like its going to go on all day. Blah.

Try and have a good one. Will post more later...after the lightening.

Dale

cat90 04-18-2004 04:16 PM

Lightening? :fr:

Well Done Glen :cp:

time&again, welcome to the group :D let us know how the somersizing goes will you? its on the lines of Atkins is'nt it? you don't eat carbs and proteins together or something :dizzy:

I'm just about to transplant some flowers into the garden, was supposed to do it yesterday but did'nt  also got to set up some pathway lights and seeing as the sun is shining today is the perfect day to do it :D

Trixi 04-19-2004 09:18 AM

Good morning everyone....weather man says it going to be +25 today....but more storms this afternoon. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Hi All,

Well, my weekend was highly caloric...but I did manage to get to the gym all weekend...the new routine is going well...and I got two new assignments so all is good in my world...now to sell the house...lol

I have registered a one pound loss this mid month but we will see at the end when all the weighing and measuring takes place for real...I find that it works for me to do it once a month...the daily up and down would discourage me...

Deborah

May I join you ladies?

Hi! My name is Jess and I'm 46 years old. Started a new way of eating almost a year ago at 268 lbs. Now at 195 as of this weekend. Started out eating mostly low fat, complex carbs and reduced my portions to the Canada food guide stats. Load of veggies and 3 fruits per day. Started out drinking 3-4 litres of water as well. I think most of the weight fell off from the sheer energy it took to run to the loo every 6 minutes. Pretty much slosh when I walk. teehee

I've been using a treadmill and a total gym. Alternate days on both. Started out walking about 15 minutes and I'm up to 1 1/2 hours. Mainly plug in a video or watch a couple of TV programs to pass the time while I slog away. The total gym has given me the best results. Ordered it from the Home Shopping channel as one of those impulse purchases.. You know the kind .. order it quick before you change your mind. Then sweated it out how I was planning to pay off the credit card bill.

My worst week is when I totally pigged out and gained back 4.5 pounds in 7 measly days. I read a quote from one of you that said Fail to Plan is Planning to Fail. Oh that's so true. I've used the slimfast site to track my calories and fat intake. Used a few of their meal bars from time to time.

My best week was when I met up with a friend who I hadn't seen in almost a year. Thing was he didn't recognise me at first. Think he was just being kind more than anything else. I've got 45 pounds more to go, seems like a life time since I started. Looking for morale support and trying not to completely fall of the wagon. Sorry this is such a long story. Would you mind if I joined your group. I sure could use any tips you could offer.
Thanks Jessie

Hi Glen,

Bit north of Toronto. Brampton to be exact. The land of a thousand McDonalds and trillions of Burger Kings.... Can you tell I have a thing for Whoppers and Big Mac's? lol

Do you follow any particular diet? What works best for you? I'm very curious about how others manage with their weight loss.
Thanks
Jess

Trixi 04-21-2004 09:20 AM

WELCOME JESS....and a quick hello to everyone as I am at work right.

Dale

cat90 04-21-2004 01:35 PM

Hi Everyone,

Hi Jessie  WTG with the weightloss :bravo: would you recommend the total gym then? i have thought about buying one of them a few times  i've been counting cals and fat grams but i'm thinking of trying something else as i've been failing miserably since Easter with all those goodies around :( i need to get back on track and quick

Deborah, you're right about the scale hopping it can be very disheartening to see it bob up and down  i should try and put the darn thing out of sight too.

Dale, your stats are looking good girl :high:

hefty1 04-21-2004 09:25 PM

 hi jesse. i doing ww. i work in brampton near the chrysler plant. it takes 2 hours
each way.
:) glen

cat90 04-23-2004 02:43 PM

Glen, 2hrs each way :yikes: would'nt it be easier to move closer to the plant? ;)

Where is everyone? you girls keep disappearing on me

I've given myself a kick in the pants and decided to get back on track :cb: i'm the only one that can do this so its up to me. I hope you are all doing well :D

hefty1 04-23-2004 10:49 PM
