Trixi 02-24-2004 09:20 AM

MeRoMo...yesterday I mentioned that they were not calling for any snow...welll....we got like six cm's last night...but the good news is the forecast for the weekend is +5 for friday +7 for saturday and Sunday. So it should be a nice weekend. I know I am looking forward to better weather.

To keep from snacking I think I will sew my mouth shut!!! I am OP now going on day 2...whoopeee and I am staying on it. I have to change my singature line cause I gained weight in the past three weeks and I am not s pleased about. This will be the last time I go up (I hope).

Hope you have a great day...post more tonight.

MeRoMo 02-24-2004 10:22 AM

Trixi: What is OP?

Trixi 02-24-2004 12:20 PM

OP = On Program = me being a good girl

MeRoMo 02-24-2004 01:32 PM

well duh! I so should have known that :)

sunnyday 02-24-2004 05:13 PM

Hi Everyone from the honorary Canadian! I was so glad someone asked what OP was. I was afraid it was something only the Canadians would know! I have gained back 2 pounds. But I have been a good girl today. I walked for an hour last evening. Maybe I can lose that. I need to lose about 20 more pounds to make me happy. What would that be in Scottland???? Stone and a half?

Interesting day at school. The kid sent home for three days for fighting last week came back Monday he made it all he way to Tuesday before getting in another fight. Wow.

Talk to you all again.

Sunny

Easter on the mind

Hello everyone

I have been so busy this last 4 days I didn't get time to sign in at all. I was sorry to hear a few of you gained but, remmeber it just short term you will get on track and lose it again.

Welcome Sunnyday you sound Canadian to me. :smug:

Canadian Red dh and I went dancing this weekend too. Had a great time we do it once every couple of months at hockey dances( each team host one every other month.) It is a great way to excerise if you never leave the dance floor and thats my challenge. Thank God dh loves to dance and will stay there with me. My trick is to change up my excerise every other day.
One day sit-ups and arm lifts-next time treadmill and run stairs- then exercise videos and every night I walk outside except in icy weather. I been lucky these last 2 weeks I walked every night.

I'd like to share my main motivation, for our 25th anniversary my dh got us tickets to Europe. I will not fall off my plan because I have my outfits picked out to take and I don't fit in half of them, but I will by trip time. :D

I have got Easter on my mind, 1st because I'm in the Easter challenge and tomorrow is my ww weigh-in. 2nd because at work the last two days I've done nothing but Easter displays. It keeps my mind of food when all I see are choc Easter bunnies and I'm allergic to choc. :(

I hope everyone finds the road back to their programs and has success, til later good-night. :)

DewCan 02-26-2004 01:01 AM

Sunny, stones, that is an interesting way of measuring, eh. How do they break it down further, do you have any idea? It's not that often that I come across it, but it does stump me when I do. Sounds like you have an interesting child. All the things I ahve to look forward to (or hopefully avoid  )
Northern, you sure are dedicated to the exercise. I put in my 30 min a day, and it's not high intensity at all. I bike and usually gab on the phone at the same time. :D Congrats on your upcoming anniversary :balloons: when is it, and when is your trip? Sounds like a wonderful time! It'll be 5 years for us this summer. Allergic to chocolate, how sad! Actually I would be half the size I am if I couldn't eat chocolate :o What type of work do you do if you work with chocolate? What Easter challenge are you in? Tomorrow is my WW WI too, good luck to you,

Have a good day tomorrow all, and STAY OP !!!! :coach:

Trixi 02-26-2004 11:12 AM

Hi all!...Day three and I am going strong (with the food anyway) I did have a beer last night. Right after work I had to go an do 13 loads of laundry and needed to relax...So I grabbed a beer and watched the Bachelorette. (which I have to tell you I am pissed that she chose Ian!) I did not bother to weigh myself today and probably wont for another week or so.

I hope you all have a great day and the weather today is suppose to be great..still a little cool right now but should go up to 5 today and really sunny. Hope it gets some of my snow melted.

MeRoMo 02-26-2004 03:15 PM

Plus 5?? WOW!! I guess I picked a good time to travel!

And I totally agree with you about Ian! How could she do that to Matt....I'll have his if she doesnt want him!

M.

Trixi 02-27-2004 09:19 AM

It's Friday and I am thrilled!!!!! Its been a rough week at work (really busy) and at home. My fiance's car broke down yesterday which sucks cause it only two years old. It cost 400 bucks that the warranty would cover. It's my mom's birthday today and we are taking her out to dinner at a buffet and I hope to stay strong but probaly won't cause I am evil

MeRoMo 02-27-2004 09:37 AM

You're brave Trixi! I know that I couldn't go to a buffet and stay withing my points! Good luck (and try to enjoy it...and have something tasty for me too!!)

I'm heading out soon, so I won't be able to check back in until Sunday night sometime, so I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Cheers,

M.

DewCan 02-27-2004 01:53 PM

M. have a good trip! Sounds like fun.
Trixi, be good at the buffet, or was that yesterday?
Diana

Trixi 02-27-2004 09:52 PM

DewCan...it was today and I ate a bunch of musckes but not much else so I did pretty cook. My mom had a great time and loved her gifts so thats all that mattered. I have a little tummy ache from the muscles. I love eating them but they always upset up stomach later. You would think I would learn?

I bought a pilates book and dvd so I think I might try it tomorrow. Got to paint the bathroom as well. I will have a busy day.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

DewCan 02-28-2004 12:55 AM

Trixi, wow, you're ambitious, painting your bathroom! What colour? Pilates, don't know too much about it. What is it? Okay I know it's a form of exericse  but what else? I'm glad you're eat out went well and that your Mom had fun. Have a good night,
Diana

Trixi 02-28-2004 11:11 AM

MrRoMo...I know you are here in Toronto and won't get this until you return but right now it is 11:00 Saturaday morning and it is beautiful outside and I hope you are having a great day...especially after that huge snow that dropped on you.

Dewcan : The book pretty says that pilates is a serious of stretches that increase your flexibility, strengthen and lean your muscles. Its says it the easy way to stay in shape but I heard stories that your tummy muscles hurt real good afterward. I am going to give it a try for a few weeks along with my Walk away the pounds dvd and see if it helps at all. I will keep you posted.

Got to start on the bathroom soon and I am still in my nightgown (feeling lazy) I really want to go out and enjoy some of this sunshine today. Maybe I will go shopping later just to get out. Need groceries anyway.

Have a great Saturday all!

hefty1 02-28-2004 02:38 PM

 hello all. i lost 4.2 at the scale  i finaly below were i startd at ww.
m: hope you had a good time in toronto
:) glen

northernclipper 02-28-2004 03:05 PM

Hello everyone

Glen Bravo :D :D on your weight loss and keep up the great work. I'm struggling on ww and I glad to hear someone is succeeding.

Trixi Glad to hear you had a great time at the party and so did your mom, thats what counts. To go to a buffet and not stray is something I don't think I could do yet. But Kudos to you. Sorry to hear about the car but, if it's not one thing it's another.( murphy's law I thinK) We just can't get break
I find as soon as you save a dollar something comes along that you didn't expect and it's gone.

m Enjoy T.O the weather is great and suppose to stay like that for the weekend. You couldn't have picked a better time to visit.

I have been out walking most of the morning in this great weather and plan to do so as long as the weather is agree-able. My fear is weigh-in Sunday morning I haven't strayed off the ww points but the last two weeks I have stayed the same. I cross my fingers for a loss tomorrow. I'm in 2 site challenges and have yet to post a loss :?:

sunnyday 02-28-2004 08:20 PM

Hi everyone!

Glad to hear how good everyone is doing. Trixi, pilates , wow that is the "hip" new exercise. I was at a conference last summer and they told us we should do them. I was with a friend, she though it was a mixed drink.

I was shopping today and saw someone I used to work with. They noticed right away that I had lost weigt. Wow that was a boost to the self esteem. lol

Talk to you later.
Sunny

Trixi 02-28-2004 08:40 PM

Well I bought the dvd and went out today to get the mat but it was 50 bucks and came with the ball that is not a part of the simply pilates and I dont think I will be able to use the ball for wuite some time and so I did not buy it. I haven't tries it yet but I watched it and I know my abdominals are going to be sore for awhile. But is seems mellow while you are doing it.

I was suppose to go out with my fiance tonight but just didnt feel up to it and he went alone so now I am sitting here by myself thinking maybe I should go and meet him. But I am in a lousy mood so I dont know if I should go or not...

Trixi 02-28-2004 08:41 PM

Sunny great compliments are usually what motivates one to stay OP and I know I love them...dont get many lately but I will....I will...I will

Trixi 02-28-2004 08:43 PM

Glen is your name Glen Ken? thats easy to remember if it is...better then mine...Dale...Everyone always calls me Dawn if they meet me the second time..

Trixi 02-28-2004 08:44 PM

look it me hoggng all the posts I think I will go out after all...apparently I am in the mood to talk and maybe there will be someone interesteing to talk to.

Trixi 02-29-2004 04:34 PM

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Today I spent most of the day (its only 4 pm right now) cleaning and getting over the drinks i ended up having last night. I really should not have gone out. I was in a horrible mood and did no have a good time.

I have cooked all my meals for the week and have frozen them so I can just pop it in the microwave and just have to worry about the rest of the family's meals during the week. I am hoping that if I know what I am going to eat all week I will be less tempted to cheat. As soon as I finish posting I am going to do my WATP two mile work out. I just do not have the energy to attempt the pilates yet and I am not sure where I am going to do it. My workout space at the moment is very small. I might have to move the rabbit out of the computer room so I can do it in here.

It is another beautiful day out and am getting more and more excited about spring. I started a journal to help me stay on track and remind me of what I should be doing in order to stay OP. I have listed all my meals, my weight, vitamins, exercise, ketones, and a cheated section (which I hope I do not use) I did enough pages to last the next 38 days.

Well its time to get the exercise in have a great night all.

sunnyday 02-29-2004 05:10 PM

Trixi Put the rabbit in the closet....he wants in there anyway.

I bought a new journal. Mainly because I liked the cover. Perhaps I should copy you Trixi and start journaling more.

I walked again today. It was so bright and pretty outside. I am ready for Spring too!

Talk to you all later!

Sunny

DewCan 03-01-2004 01:23 AM

Glen, that is wonderful :cb: make sure you so this week whatever you did last week ;)
Sunny, congrats on the compliment, that always makes you feel better :spin:
Trixi, don't think of it as journaling for hte next 38 days, it might scare you, Just do it one day at a time. That's how you'll see success. I always want ot journal and never do, grrrrr....
Have a good week all,
Diana

MeRoMo 03-01-2004 08:40 AM

Good Morning everyone!

My trip to TO was so much fun!!! The weather was pefect! Walking to the bus yesterday to take us back to the airport was so nice, I only had on a sweater! It is so big there, trying to find something to use as a landmark to know where you are going is hard! The buildings are so tall! (Here you just need to look for the harbour :) )

I went WAY over on my points this weekend BUT walked four about 7 hours (Just on Saturday!) So if I end up gaining at least I'll have enjoyed doing it :)

We had such a good time, we're going back in May!!

Cheers,

M.

Trixi 03-01-2004 09:56 AM

MeRoMo,

I am glad you had fun in our wonderful city. If you were walking down Bay Street (as you mentioned the tall buildings) you probably walked right by my office. The weather was great!!!! Sure beats the -35 we had last month. I am sure all that walking helped.

I have everything I need to stay on program today (and hopefully the motivation as well) Have a great day all.

Sunny the bunny tried for hours to get in the closet and finally I just put in back in his cage and gave him a time out. When I was on the computer he got cheeky and jumped right in my lap begging for one of the treats he loves so much. It was really cute but he nails are strong.

Stayed up to late last night to watch the awards so I did not get up in time to do the WATP's so I will have to do it when I get home tonight.

MeRoMo 03-01-2004 11:37 AM

Trixi,

Bay Street sounds familar...I think we ended up there by mistake :) We got lost Friday night trying to find our hotel (Which I'm thinking wasn't in the nicest part of town...) we were dropped off at the Delta and tried getting a cab but I guess where it was only a few blocks away he didn't want to drive us, so he told us to go to the lights and take a left..which we did BUT it turned out that we needed to take a right! So we arrived in Toronto at 8ish and checked into our hotel at 10ish! Its a good thing it was nice out!

The next time we go we're planning on staying at the Holiday Inn on King...is it nice? It looks nice and it seems to be pretty central. AND the bus stops right there!! :)

Krystals 03-01-2004 12:32 PM

Hi I'm new here,...

Hope I'm posting right. Anyway Let me introduce myself...My name is krystal I'm 37, married and a sahm of one son(13) . I live in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.(Don't even mention the word snow :dizzy: LOL) I am at my highest weight 180 lbs :( and would love to join your group for the extra motivation to keep on trying to lose. I am 5'3" and want to eventually get down to 130 lbs. I joined Curves about 2 weeks ago and have been trying to stay off the pop and drink more water instead(very hard). I know I need to do more however I have found in the past that if I rush in I'll just fall on my butt before I even get a good start. So here I am, hope you don't mind a late joiner. ---Krystal :)

MeRoMo 03-01-2004 01:13 PM

Welcome Krystal!

I know exactly how you feel about the snow!

Where in CB are you from? Most of my family is from CB too!

M.

northernclipper 03-01-2004 02:57 PM

welcome Krystal

Welcome Krystal you have just joined friendly and helpful site.I hope you find motivation amongst us because it's here.

M I was happy to hear you had a great time in T.O. The weather sure welcomed you. I'm sure all the walking you did will make short of your straying alittle bit. Getting away from home for awhile is reason enough to take a tiny break from a tough program, we all know how hard we work day in and day out. Glad to hear you could enjoy the break :D

Krystals 03-01-2004 03:04 PM

Thanks for the Welcome

I'm not originally from CB. I grew up in Winnipeg and married a Caper I met in Germany.Sometimes you have to travel far to find a good man. ;) My father is in the military and we were posted in Germany. My hunny lived just below us( is in the military too) and all I had to do was throw out the fishin' line and hook him over the balcony. History was born. DH is stationed in Sydney now however we are moving again come this summer or next for sure. We have been warned. Thanks again for the welcome.---So do you do weekly weigh ins or anything else I should know about??? Let me know. Talk soon. I'm usually off and on all day.---Krystal :)

DewCan 03-01-2004 05:22 PM

Hi Krystal, welcome here.
Okay all this talk of traveling makes me want to as well!!
Have a good week, I'm off to a bad start.
Diana

Trixi 03-01-2004 08:00 PM

Welcome Krystals I love your sense of humor. You have a great way of lookig at things. Right now we don not have a weekly weigh in but we can start right? I most likely will weigh the same everytime but thats okay with me (not really, trying to save face).

Dewcan dont worry its only Monday and things CAN get better. I was a good girl all day and now I am going to go to bed in case I break (its only eight) figure if I sleep lots I cheat less

Northernclipper you always have something inspirational to say and I am very happy that you have joined our little group (I have read some of you other posts as well)

Lets hear it for a better week and staying OP and if we don't I am glad you guys understand.

Good night all.

Krystals 03-02-2004 08:31 AM

Thanks again for the welcome...

Today I actually stayed up after my son left to go to school and went to get my bloodwork done for the month. The wait wasn't to terrible--only one hour :dizzy: . Now I'm having my tea and figuring out what today holds in store for me. It'll be a busy and active one because I'm starting my spring cleaning early and this week is the kitchen. I know but I may be selling this house this summer and I want to be ready. DH has been warned about a possible move. Got to get the dog to the groomer too so you know I'll have to do the drive though at timmies. I'll just get the coffee with milk and try and keep myself from the danishes. Why do I torture myself so? :dunno: ---Well I'm off, Tomorrow is another curves day. I actually look forward to them. Has anyone here started the diet plan they give out in the book and if so what do you think of it??? See ya! ---Krystal

Krystals 03-02-2004 08:36 AM

:?: :?: :?: How come I can't figure out how to make a new post instead of a reply all the time :?: Please let me know.---Krystal

Trixi 03-02-2004 10:43 AM

Happy Tuesday (blah) all. At work and can't seem to get motivated to start actually working. Very busy day ahead and I don't know where to begin.

I was down two pounds this morning!!! which pretty much means a total of 8 pounds gone since I started in January. I have decided not to think of the big loss I had earlier and then the big gain I had. Its going to be 8 pounds since January! and counting. Not much of a loss but better than a gain right?

I never did get to exercise last night or this morning but I WILL do it tonight and in the morning no matter what.

I found a program for my daughter to attend while she is on March Break and it only costs 90 Bucks!!!! I am thrilled that she will be busy and she already has friends who go to the same program so she will be comfortable. It runs from 9 am until 6 pm and they go on trips, swimming and tons of other activies. One of the other working moms told me about it. Considering childcare costs this is a deal and makes her happy. She was trying on her swim suits last night to get ready and there is still two weeks to go

I hope you all have a great day today and I will post more tonight.

Dale

DewCan 03-02-2004 12:40 PM

Dale, 8 pounds is wonderful. That is the size of a average newborn baby, and that is off your body for good!! (I'm a nurse so I thikn of things in sizes of babies  )
Krystals, are you trying to post a reply as that is at the bottom of this thread on the left hand side, this is where you get all the smilies. If you're trying ot make a new thread, that is on the thread list in each forum on the bottom left side. Does that make sense? How it helps you
Diana

Trixi 03-02-2004 12:47 PM

MeRoMo...I am not sure what you paid for at your hotel but I have a contact at the Sheraton Centre on Queen Street of you like I can see if I can get a good deal for you if you come back in May. It is a beautiful hotel and right in the middle of everything. The weather in May is really nice.

MeRoMo 03-02-2004 02:57 PM

Trixi,

The Sharaton was another hotel we were looking at staying at! Also, the King Edward (I work for an airline so we get a discount rate there) what is that hotel like, is it DT as well?

And CONGRATS Dale!!

M.
