Good Evening Ladies.
I always think of Alfred Hitchcock when I use that phrase.

Robin I am sorry to hear that you and your family are sick. It is bad enough when you are sick but to have you sick and looking after sick kids also.... my heart goes out to you. Your bed will be nice and cozy though. Togetherness time.
Hope hubby wasn't sick also. There is not enough time in the day to add a sick man on top of it all.

I have to admit that i really really needed a treadmill for Christmas. No it won't gather dust, I will use it everyday. I hate it when he is right.

Kim did you get your treadmill set up? You must be happy now that Halloween is over. I would imagine that the kids at school were so excited that yesterday would have been a day to call in sick and let a sub handle it all. And now kids have all weekend to recoup before they have to go back. Now the countdown to Christmas is on.

Robin were your kids well enough to go out for halloween? Then your DH could take them out and you could have a little alone time. Not that your really alone as then you get to answer the door.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Kathy

Hi all!

I feel a little better still today.(mainly because I am not at work)
Yeah, the kiddies went trick or treating. DH had to work because the past 3 halloween nights, there has been an armed robbery at one of our convenience stores here. Fortunately, nothing happened this year. A girl friend of mine took my kids and hers out so that I could get a little rest.

We are still horse shopping every weekend. We have made one purchase but haven't gotten her home yet. We have been very watchful of the mare we already have because she acted a little colicky. We walked her for a while and gave her an injection for pain. She seems to be ok now. I hope so!

Speaking of the treadmills, there was an ad in our local paper where a guy was selling his wife's treadmill. He went on to state how she just had to have it and would lose tons of weight with it and had done nothing more that hung clothes on it. Not only would I have sold the treadmill, but I would have been soliciting an attorney to take his tail to divorce court!

I post on another thread, Labor Day Challenge, that I would like to invite you ladies to join if you want to. We have done 2 challenges so far, Labor Day and Halloween, both of which I failed! We are starting a new one with a New Years Day goal and have challenged another thread for competition. It should be fun. Check us out if you'd like! We would love to have you! It will either be Labor Day Challengers Moving Forward Week 9 or 10, (I am not sure when the new week will start), but it is under Buddy Up also.

Well, I gotta run. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi Robin and Kim.

Robin I hope you are feeling better. It must have been some flu that you had. I am glad your husband had an uneventful Halloween night. We did an early deposit at work so that there was no money in the store, as it was Friday and we are open until 9:00 and of course we are right across the street from the 2 crummy bars in town. If it was up to me we would just close early.
What are the signs of colic in a horse? Or new baby was gelded on Friday. Poor boy. Just can't wait to get the bill for that. Kristi has been working with him and he seems to be a smart colt. He is very affectionate. Moves very smoothly.

I do hang my clothes on the treadmill, but Mark being a smart husband never comments. Its just a walmart special for 100.00. Its made for thin people I am sure as it is not very wide. That is my excuse and I am sticking to that.
Actually seems as I would hate to let the team down, I will not settle for an excuse, so I will use it just to see if it can help me lose a pound or two.

Kim how are you doing? What have you been doing to the house lately? Any new renos or decorating? Or did you get that all done before you moved in?

Well I must go and clean off the tm. I wouldn't want to see it advertised in the paper and humiliated. And your right the alimony that he would have to pay me would be high because we would be divorced after that.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Kathy

Hi Girls,

Where are you Kim? We miss you!

Kathy, the treadmill that you bought at Wal-mart, is it one that you have to manually make the belt move or does it move on its own? I have thought about getting an inexpensive one myself, but just wondered how well they worked.

We have had another day of horse troubles. I just don't know what is wrong with her. I guess I will have a vet check her out if she is not a whole lot better tomorrow.

Well, I am pooped and still have a lot of work to do. I stayed up most of the nite last nite with my son, who was vomiting every hour on the hour. We have had our share of illness around here lately. I am ready for everyone to get well!

Have a great evening!

HI Robin

Sorry that things are so rough for you right now. I am sending a over the wires to send good health and good vibes to your family and the horse so you are not so stressed. I hope that now that your family has had this flu that you will all be immuned for the rest of the flu season.

My treadmill is a manual one that works well enough for what I use it for. You can't jog on it as the belt slips if you go to fast, but I do break a sweat on it.

and to you.

Hope your week is better.

Kathy

Thanks for reminding me girls - the kids have their flu shots today and today is the day I am supposed to schedule my flu shot! Anyways, been pretty busy this weekend = my nephew's confirmation, halloween - we had almost 200 kids stop by, yes that was NOT A TYPO, two hundred kids! I also found time to do my nails and a few other nice things! Life is really settling down at the new house - I actually feel like I am living here instead of just fixing it up. FIL is going to try to fix the treadmill today. I paid 500 dollars for it and the belt does not move when you get on it. ????? Either something is wrong or I am just way too fat! LOL Weigh in is today and I didn't lose or gain. Kind of discouraged but I really did not do well the past 3 days so I guess I should be happy. Robin - wow, I hope your family and horse start to feel better - that is obviously not fun to have a sick household. I think the last time I had that was when the kids were little and they all had chicken pox (knock on wood!~ LOL) RIght now I am trying to convince my hubby to let me get a new puppy - not going well - we have a shitzu/terrior who is a doll but I think she gets lonely when we are not here Girls, I think it is time to really buckle ourselves down and lose some awesome weight - it looks like you girls have done well so far but I obviously have not - what do you think is our road blocks and how can we stop them? I know I just eat to eat and I really am try to stop it. I also think that the antidepressent that I am on ( efforex due to severe stress the past couple of years) is also preventing me from losing weight. Another reason I want to go to the doctors to get off it - I think I am okay now, the stress is over and I seem to be handling life a ton better - not to mention the last time I lost a ton of weight I was taking nothing. Unfortunately, just stopping the med. is not the way to get off it you have to ease your way off it and the doc won't tell me how until I go to see him. So, my goals for this week are - go to the doc. , fix the treadmill and actually get on it, and really focus I what I put in my mouth. Maybe that is what we need to do, make realistic goals for the week. Hey, we might as well try that - I know I have tried everything else. LOL Well, I will write more later. Thanks for keeping in touch Robin and Kathy - it is nice to have friends to talk with Love ya, Kim

Hi Ladies

How are you all doing tonight?

Another stressfull day at work, but man life would just go way to smooth if we didn't have to worry about work.

Kim 200 kids? We had 12 here at our house, and I had to dish out candy at my parents house as they were out of town and they had 5 kids (not including mine). But it was quite cold here.
So tell us everything you have done to your house. You must be quite pleased with all your hard work. There is something wrong with the treadmill. Hey you didn't lose BUT you didn't Gain. Way to go!

I sometimes think that I eat out of some sort of compulsion. Like right now we have lots of halloween candy. The kids eat and eat the first night and then they don't care it will last 3 months if it wasn't for me eating it. Its like its here and I have to eat it all TONIGHT. not over the next month. TONIGHT. I don't know why I feel that way. Maybe that is what I need to figure out.
When you get your treadmill fixed let me know and we will do a little challenge. Robin will have to find a nice walking tape to do our challenge also.

Robin how is your household feeling? I hope all is better. Did the vet have to come or is the horse doing better also. Did hubby get sick or did it pass him by and maybe he will come down with it this week!
Congrats on the horse purchase. What type did you buy? Tell us all!

Talk to you later.

Hi everyone!

Kim, don't be hard on yourself. I didn't do that great either, but this time will be better...for both of us! I hope you can get the treadmill fixed soon and get busy on it. It will help greatly.

I had a poodle/shitzu mix that I got when I was about 15. He lived to be about 18 or 19 and I had to have him put to sleep a couple of years ago. It was so heartbreaking. He had been with me through the death of my Mom, a marriage, a divorce, another marriage and 2 children. I had him for more than half my life. What a great pal he was. I hope DH will let you get your's a companion. We are looking at a bloodhound that some people are wanting to give away. He is a hoot, reminds me of the dog on The Beverly Hillbillies.
I know what you mean about the antidepressants and losing weight, I take Paxil and have for several years now. I really do believe it makes it very difficult to lose, although my MD says not. I got off them once, but went into another depression, so getting off them is really not an option for me at this time.

Kathy, thanks a bunch for the good vibes you sent, they must have worked. We are all feeling better...even the horse. I took my daughter to the allergist yesterday because she is extremely allergic to horses (she tested VERY allergic to them on her skin test). I was hoping to get her started on allergy shots to desensitize her to it. She has asthma and starts to cough and wheeze after every encounter with horses. The allergist told us that there is no serum to desensitize to horses and that the best thing would be to just keep her away from them. Yeah...right. She loves them and we have just spent about $5,500.00 on horses and tack. We are going back next week to explore some other options. Also, she wants to be a Vet when she grows up. How unfair is that? She is also allergic to cats, dogs, and deer. That is everything we own (DH and FIL are taxidermists, too)

Oh well, about the horses, we bought a 3 year old black Rocky Mountain mare name Lil' (what a sweet, loving, people horse she is) and a 15 year old Quarter Horse mare (Sorrell in color) named Andi. She was really mistreated in her younger years causing her some injuries, but is a super horse and beautiful, too. She is a great child's horse and will be a great teacher for Alexandra.

My husband has picked out a very spirited young gelding walking horse name Scout, but we have not bought him yet. He will even pull a wagon, but he is very big and intimidating to me.

I am doing better with my eating these days and hope to see a loss come Friday. I can't wait.

I took the kids to the circus that was in town tonite and it was Great. I love it. I threatened to run away and join the circus, but I wouldn't be very cute in those little skimpy suits right now. I rode an elephant while we were there. Now that was a very "different" experience. The allergist that saw Alex yesterday, suggested getting her an elephant or a camel to ride. She was not amused!!!!

Well, good grief, I have just rambled way too much tonite. I had better get off here and do some laundry.

I will see you ladies, tomorrow!

Hello Dear Friends

I hope everyone is great today.

Kim, as I was sitting in the doctors office yesterday I could not help but count the days until Christmas and there is only 49 days and I would imagine that your vacation starts the weekend before that so you should only have 44 days to go until Christmas Vacation. YA HOO!!! Will you be getting company to come and stay with you in the new house?

Robin I am glad you are all feeling much better. My cousin was so allergic to cats and horses but he was able to get some shots and takes lots of claratin as his wife had horses and he had to find someway to get over his very bad reactions after being near one. I'll have to ask him what he took and how long it took. If you get the dog you will have to post some pictures.

We have had our pekanese cross Sunshine for 15 years. She was my wedding present and what a good dog she has been. She is deaf now and looks like she is developing arthritis in her left hind leg. But she is still spunky and she is now the other mother to our little guy and protector to the other two.

Don't we all feel like running away with the circus sometimes? I could just imagine me as a trapeze artist in the tight little leotard looking like a real tard. Now that thought will give me enough of a giggle to get through the rest of my day.

Talk to you later
Kathy

Hey girls! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!

What a long week it has been.
So how is everybody? As for me, I am not sure. My son got up at 4:30 this morning with severe abdominal pain and vomiting that has resolved for now. I was just about to take him to the E.R. to be checked for appendicitis. I am not sure what it was, but I have never seen him in so much pain. He was begging me to help him. We will see what happens today.

Well, I gotta run. I will try to check back tonite. Have a great TGIF!

Hey girls!

How is everyone?

Kim, I know you can't wait for the treadmill to be fixed. What kind of pup are you looking at? That is so exciting. I hope the dog you already have loves it, whatever it is. We bought 2 more horses today and are hopefully out of the horse buying business. I think they are throwing in a bloodhound puppy, too. I am not sure we can afford to feed all these critters!!!

I ended up taking ds to the ER yesterday morning for iv therapy and phenergan. Doc said probably just has a bug. Another one???

Well, I gotta run. Talk to ya later!

Congrats Kim on the new addition! I know he is adorable! What a cute name, too. Did DH not want you to get him or is he just having PMS (pissy male syndrome)? I hope he overs it soon.

We have a 3 acre pasture here at home. We live on a dirt road that goes for miles and miles and will just get out a take family rides and enjoy the outdoors. That is the plan anyway. I hope when we get all the horses home, they don't act like idiots. I like very sweet and calm if I or my kids are going to be on them. I guess it is a shot at togetherness.

I would rather croak than have to cook for my MIL. She is such a good cook and so critical of everyone else"s. I had to go down to her house in Florida today to get a hay rack and a watering trough. Of course DH did not go(he was conveniently on call).

Kathy, how are you today? Great I hope. Well, I gotta run. Still have a lot of work to do around here!
