Hi everyone!
Kim, don't be hard on yourself. I didn't do that great either, but this time will be better...for both of us! I hope you can get the treadmill fixed soon and get busy on it. It will help greatly.
I had a poodle/shitzu mix that I got when I was about 15. He lived to be about 18 or 19 and I had to have him put to sleep a couple of years ago. It was so heartbreaking. He had been with me through the death of my Mom, a marriage, a divorce, another marriage and 2 children. I had him for more than half my life. What a great pal he was. I hope DH will let you get your's a companion. We are looking at a bloodhound that some people are wanting to give away. He is a hoot, reminds me of the dog on The Beverly Hillbillies.
I know what you mean about the antidepressants and losing weight, I take Paxil and have for several years now. I really do believe it makes it very difficult to lose, although my MD says not. I got off them once, but went into another depression, so getting off them is really not an option for me at this time.
Kathy, thanks a bunch for the good vibes you sent, they must have worked. We are all feeling better...even the horse. I took my daughter to the allergist yesterday because she is extremely allergic to horses (she tested VERY allergic to them on her skin test). I was hoping to get her started on allergy shots to desensitize her to it. She has asthma and starts to cough and wheeze after every encounter with horses. The allergist told us that there is no serum to desensitize to horses and that the best thing would be to just keep her away from them. Yeah...right. She loves them and we have just spent about $5,500.00 on horses and tack. We are going back next week to explore some other options. Also, she wants to be a Vet when she grows up. How unfair is that? She is also allergic to cats, dogs, and deer. That is everything we own (DH and FIL are taxidermists, too)
Oh well, about the horses, we bought a 3 year old black Rocky Mountain mare name Lil' (what a sweet, loving, people horse she is) and a 15 year old Quarter Horse mare (Sorrell in color) named Andi. She was really mistreated in her younger years causing her some injuries, but is a super horse and beautiful, too. She is a great child's horse and will be a great teacher for Alexandra.
My husband has picked out a very spirited young gelding walking horse name Scout, but we have not bought him yet. He will even pull a wagon, but he is very big and intimidating to me.
I am doing better with my eating these days and hope to see a loss come Friday. I can't wait.
I took the kids to the circus that was in town tonite and it was Great. I love it. I threatened to run away and join the circus, but I wouldn't be very cute in those little skimpy suits right now. I rode an elephant while we were there. Now that was a very "different" experience. The allergist that saw Alex yesterday, suggested getting her an elephant or a camel to ride. She was not amused!!!!
Well, good grief, I have just rambled way too much tonite. I had better get off here and do some laundry.
I will see you ladies, tomorrow!
