Morning all.
My guest moved out today and this afternoon I will go up there and help her unpack her stuff which is due to arrive between 1 and 4 pm. After that it will be me and the dog and cat again. Been nice having the company and its nice on my own again. However it was fun spending her money on TV and fridge and beautiful new car etc.
So from tomorrow I will be back to normal and you can all get bored with my twittering.

Good Morning/Evening All...

Been a tough start to the day. Been in the toitie since 4 am. That has finally ceased. Now I have rapid heart rate which I hope is from my coffee. Bah. Tomorrow is my 6 month check up at the cardiologist. My nitrostat pills expire in June so I am going to ask for a new script. These are just emergency pills and can't say I have used the original script I had filled after the heart attack. A good thing I suppose.

We ordered Chinese last night for dinner. Not my favorite as the only thing I can really have is egg drop soup. I did order sauteed veggies which was 90% broccoli. I don't eat broccoli due to the heartburn I get from it. So as far as I am concerned it was a major flop in dinner for me. Guess it is not all about me. lol. Made cheese quasadillas (sp) for the boys, or I should say Sam made them.

Tonight is our class reunion meeting. The 40th reunion is set for September 28 & 29. Please avoid those dates for our commune reunion please. I did find one classmate that no one has heard from since graduation and even spoke for an hour on the phone with her. She may possibly come to the reunion. I hope so. We actually hung out in high school. Don't know what happened there. I am usually good at keeping up with people.

SHADDIE...back to the usual humdrum of life. Oh and a new car for your friend. How exciting. What kind did she get? Color? Back to puppy love. Kitty too!

CEEG...great job on the water intake. Sadly we should do that every day. Um I get enough liquid but not water type. I need to do better on that also.

LAURA...great job on staying after the company on the bike refund. Success!@! Boo on this weather. It is now spinter (spring/winter). We are expecting snow tomorrow night. OVER IT!

HAPPY...nothing like a day to yourself to do laundry. Wow, that sounds like a big bummer. Your soup sounds way better than the egg drop soup I had last night. I love soup. Thankfully there are some that we can eat on keto. Awww, poor B. Missing her friend. Wonder how Nina will react to B being gone when she has her vet appt. Probably do kitty flips around the house. haha. Chimi's...tortilla filled with taco meat (I used both ground beef and the chicken leftover from the Easter fest), then a bit of salsa, refried beans, green onion, cheese rolled up burrito style only with ends tucked inside. Then butter outside and fry. Serve with lettuce, sour cream, tomato and anything else you might want to eat with it, chips etc.

DEE....was DH able to get to work with the snow fall? Treacherous?

SUSIE...come up for air, my friend. How is Genny? Probably starting to feel really crummy with the chemo. I have my mammo next week on Wednesday. That is one test I get faithfully, especially since my momma was a 17 year breast cancer survivor. That is NOT what caused her death. So it could of been a lot longer if the rest of her body had not given up on her.

Hello to the lurkers. Love and hugs my friends. Have a great Friday and weekend as you know me by now. Rarely post on the weekends. Maybe I might this weekend as the boys are with their dad and Samantha is scarce around the house when she is kid free. Fingers crossed. lol.

Default Afternoon

Not much going on this afternoon. I did take the dog for a short walk this afternoon. But my main exercise was this morning when I went to the gym to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. No weight machines as they were all being used. Still working on water intake. Decided to put lemon in it today.

Annie
Sorry you had bathroom issues this morning. I went to our high school reunion (49) last year and only 3 from my class showed up. This year is our 50th and the coordinator was asking on FB if any from our class would be in charge. I will be surprised if any one shows up.

Laura
Hoping that the bf can get your bike fixed. Is the machine(theraphy) helping your foot?

This is about it for me. More later.

Afternoon.

Ceejay - Good job on the water. I realized a week or two ago that I'm really lagging on the water. I have to step it up too. Maybe we need to get a water challenge started on the thread... == I don't know if the machine is helping the foot, though it's been feeling alright. I've been trying to baby the foot and haven't missed any of the daily machine treatments since I got it. Fingers that there will be healing progress when I have my 8 week appointment with the bone doc.

Annie - Hope you're feeling better by now. == Enjoy the meeting tonight. How great that you found a former classmate and had a nice conversation.

Shad - Fun to spend other people's money, LOL. Enjoy the dog and cat time.

Hellos to the rest of you. Hang in there, Friday's almost here!

==
Nothing much to report. Bf was pulling apart the flywheel part of the bike last night, but he hasn't seen anything that could be causing the resistance to go awry. Not sure what the next step will be. I do know that I'd like to get out to a fitness equipment store or two this weekend to look at some other exercise bikes.

That's it for me. Have a good rest of the day everyone.

Good morning ladies,

Woke up to snow. More snow. Blowing cold winds. So tired of winter.

Went to the foot doctor yesterday. My MRI is not consistent with the pain and inflammation so she wants to have another ultrasound done where they will do certain movements to check the tendon. She said the tendon is in a small sheath in the foot so like sciatica, when it gets swelled and inflamed there is little room for it to calm down and that's why it takes centuries to heal up. Trying to coordinate the doctor's availability and the ultrasound was fun - no, I don't want a 10:15 ultrasound and then a 3:30 follow up doctor's appointment. So I will go the end of the month.

My foot was raging hurting yesterday. We went to Sam's Club to get a few things and both of us were hobbling. I didn't want to go to bingo yesterday and tried to get out of it only to have my partner match and tell me an even sadder story about himself. He is having a blood disorder brought on in part by his blood thinner and is on steroids to treat it. He doesn't tolerate steroids well so he is not sleeping as he is wired up and it shoots his blood sugar way up. So we were both tired and dopey yesterday. We really need some competent relief. D said when he got help in the past they always screwed the numbers and the money up so that's why he's glad to have me onboard.

We are going to lunch at the senior center shortly and then I have to work the afternoon making phone calls for a special project I am working on.

I want to stay home and rest my foot, cook up all the groceries I bought and get some housework done but there will be none of that.

And I apologize for only talking about me right now. I have to hurry and take a quick shower as DH will be pestering me to leave as he wants to meet up with some folks at the center before lunch.

I'll be back to post tomorrow. Have a good weekend.

Sorry that you are in such pain with your foot. Sometimes it helps to vent.

Laura
Sounds like the BF is trying to get the new bike in working order. Did you try out some different bikes this week end?

_________
I got to come home Friday afternoon and will go back tomorrow. Sure wish I could have some more time at home. Yard work is getting behind.

Forgot to mention that I woke up to a dusting of snow and it was cold down to 23 degree's. More of the same tomorrow afternoon. Concerned about the flowers but to lazy to go cover them up.

Hi everyone I'm on the treadmill right now reading the post and I'm going to try to speak my reply we'll see how this goes.

I had a great time at SRD this weekend it was nice to have DH with me and it was also inspiring. I am now pumped up to get back to it to really get back to it in fact as I said I'm on the treadmill right now doing my 30 minutes one of the things they said was to not wait to have everything else done and then do your exercise I have been falling into that routine since you know how busy my schedule gets sometimes house work and work get in my way going back to those happening after my workout.

I have commitments through April and after that I'm not committing to anything on the weekends with my time aftet taking care of my weightloss commentent to myself other than taking care of me my husband my home and my friend Genny.

Shad: I received the hats that you sent for Genny and I will see her next week to get them to her she has a couple right now and she's really looking forward to having other choices thank you so much for sending them it is very sweet of you to do so.

It sounds like you had a fun time with your friend and it's always fun to spend other people's money or at least help them do it hopefully now you'll get back to your own time and enjoy it

Happy : I'm sorry to hear that your friend is giving you so many problems I think you need to be like me and start saying no to a lot of more things please take care of yourself first.

Annie, I need to go back and read when all your appointments are that are coming up but I'll be in prayer for them and for you.

Dee: 4:30 is a very early time to leave for work hopefully it means that your DH gets home earlier in the evening but I'm sure he is tired and has to go to bed early as well.

Thank you for asking about Genny she had her 2nd chemo this past Thursday and that morning she woke up with her hair falling out so it's now Shay we are going to look for her wig when I take her to chemo on April 19th she said she said that she thought it would be more fun to shop for her wig with me there than with her husband and I have to agree.

I continue to pray for your upcoming appointment and I hope that you are feeling somewhat better.

A SRD the graduates don't wear white gowns anymore but they do wear long formal gown and everyone looks so nice in the gowns, and suites with their crowns.

Ceejay: hopefully it won't be long until you are back home more order cuz I believe your nieces doing well getting her classes completed is that correct?

Keep working on getting that water in you'll find it gives you energy and you feel much better.

I'm glad to hear that you don't have to pay every shipping a restocking fee for the bike and that you'll get a refund.
When I bought my exercise bike I bought it at Sears and they were the ones who delivered it and set it up and if I needed to return I would returned it through the store.

I could actually try the equipment out at the Sears store.

Workout is finsihed. Back to housecleaning and then a shower. We skipped church this morning and slep in a bit.

Good Morning All...

Was an ok weekend. After meeting Saturday morning, I had that massage I have been talking about forever. haha. Found a local place near my house that does a great job. Not bad either. 60 bucks for an hour. I do feel better but could feel the stress/tightening up of my neck and shoulders on the way to work. Hmmm, must be the problem. Massage place sent me a coupon via email for 10$ off the next massage if I schedule it within the next 30 days. I believe I will. After that was errands and home to chill.

Sunday was church, lunch at Olive Garden, mmm salmon. Then we (C, Sam, SIL) went to see "I Can Only Imagine". What a great movie of redemption and forgiveness. I didn't cry as much as everyone said I would. I highly recommend seeing it. Home again to do a bunch of nothing. Leftovers for dinner.

Friday's cardiologist appt went well. Doc said if I get that rapid heart rate again to call them immediately. He doesn't think a one time thing is anything to worry about. I will go with that. Other than that he thinks, from what he can tell/see I am good to go for another 6 months. My mammo is scheduled for this Wednesday morning. Hopefully that will come back clear.

HAPPY...me thinks you need to quit volunteering and get yourself back in order. The ache and pains with that foot, knee, etc are too much for all you do. Don't make me bring MELLIE's rolling pin up there and knock your noggin. I do hope the doc figures out a way to get that darn foot feeling better. Sad both you and your bingo partner are both feeling like heck. Makes it hard to "call in sick". I am with you OVER THE SNOW. We had about a half inch last night. Didn't stick to the streets and sidewalks. Grateful for that. Lord it is April 9th. Done with it.

SUSIE...Glad you had a good time at SRD. They are right. Don't put off taking care of yourself/exercising till the last part of the day. Chances are it won't happen. Hugs and prayer for Genny.

Good morning ladies,

Time to climb on the Monday bus again. I woke up this morning from a dream that I went back to my first full time job computer operator at a small steel outfit down the road from where I lived. They were in a terrible bind but I said "don't worry - I used to work here 46 years ago and I can help you out" I was old as I am now and I can't remember if any of the other people I worked with were there also in much older versions of themselves. Weird dream - made me wonder if one of them died or something - not that I keep up with any of them.

Friday I spend a good part of the day at the Senior Center. Stopped to see the ladies who gather to paint - DH gives them pictures and they (as well as he) were all encouraging me to join them and start painting. It's a really nice, welcoming group of people who just gather to socialize and paint on Friday mornings - you can do drawings, chalk, watercolors, pencil, acrylics - anything you want to do actually. I really would like to start with some basics and a couple of people offered to help me. I will think about it. Afterwards we went upstairs for lunch and then I went back downstairs and worked in the office for the afternoon calling the Meals on Wheels recipients in regards to a grant we got to help them with food for their pets. That was interesting and not something I'd want to do all the time. Some people were very nice, some wanted to chat, some complained that they didn't always like what was in the meals, one fellow told me he wanted to get a dog (from the sounds of him I did judge him and think that no way would I be so mean as to put a dog in his house I just told him he could go to a shelter if he wanted a dog but he was not happy with that and wanted more information and I said I didn't have that kind of info. He responded - why not, then what good are you and why are you calling me? All in a day's work. Another lady told me the name of her cats - Knucklehead and a totally inappropriate (yes she knows) politically UNCORRECT name We had a fun conversation. I did get a few disconnected numbers and several not at home with no answering machines. 4 hours of that was more than enough. The big boss was not in the office, my buddy decided to leave at 3:30 and the receptionist took off at 2:30 to run errands and never came back. I did not have her password to get in her computer to print the Monday bus schedule and I also could not access and pick up any calls that went to voicemail. Mostly though I was the last person in the office and the only one who doesn't have any keys to lock up! I think my buddy thought M was returning and so did I. I just left a voicemail on her cell that I was leaving, would pop the lock on the interior office door but could not lock up the center itself.

Saturday DH and I went to the casino for a promotion. He was luckier than me and gave me some money to cover my losses which was nice. We had a nice day out together. Yesterday I just stayed home, worked on laundry and picked up a few things. When we went to Sam's Club we picked up 2 expensive kobe beef steaks DH wanted to try. I made them last night - pan fried in a cast iron pan because you are not supposed to grill these steaks or cook at a high heat. They were very flavorful although not as tender as I would have thought (especially for the price). DH said he like it, it cost what it would cost to go out to dinner. I made a baked potato and a salad of mozzarella, these wonderful little tomatoes we get from Sam's club, basil and balsamic vinegar. I ate half my steak, made a smaller potato for me and filled up on the tomatoes. Today is the Thrift Shop. I am not going to sign up for May and see how that goes. We are supposed to go to a farm to table dinner on Saturday on a farm about a 40 minute drive from here. The lady raises Mangalitsa pigs. From the looks of things now, it looks like really bad weather - rain turning to sleet on Friday and 5 to 8 inches of awful wet heavy snow on Saturday. This event was really pricey - $35 a plate - so it's quite an investment. I hope they are wrong about the weather because we are stuck with it.

Annie - I'm really glad that you took some time and money for yourself and got that massage that you deserved and needed. Yes, spring seems to be off on her calendar - everyone is talking about how they are so sick of the snow and cold weather. We are running about 10 degrees below average and we could use all the extra heat we can get since it's already cold. I am not looking forward to the spring thaws tho when the frost line melts and the melted snow seeps into the ground and the sump pumps run continuously for what seems like a month straight. That always makes me nervous. Thank you for the movie review. Another person was also talking about how much they enjoyed that movie.

Ceejay - why do you keep travelling back and forth to your sister's? Seems like you haven't been home in the longest time. Is everything in bloom yet? Or is the dusting of snow you posted wreaking havoc with the flowers?

Susie - glad you had a great time at the TOPS event - that's what you went to, right? Thanks for the nudge about cutting back and me time, I am with you on that. Getting to the point where I'm cranky when anyone asks more of me so I know it's time to start saying no. I hope your friend Genny is doing well with her treatments. I keep her in my prayers every night - many ill people going through recovery right now so my list is long. But not easily forgotten

Laura - did you make it out to check out any exercise equipment this weekend? I agree with you about perhaps starting a water challenge. It's so dry up here drinking should not be a problem but it just is not as refreshing to me as when it's warm out. Need to drink more water. We got a bottle of fresh squeezed orange juice at Sam's Club and I took a small glass before DH drank it up and OMG - is it delicious!!! Just like fresh oranges and not as acidic as the regular bottled stuff. Yum. But it's still not water...

Shad are you sitting on the porch enjoying some peacefulness or taking advantage of the better weather by working the garden? Does R dig up things?

Dee - I caught just a glimpse of The Middle. Looked to me like Patricia Heaton had some face work. What do you think?

I have just enough time to get a load of clothes done and some dishes before I have to get in the shower so I will post this for now.

Happy Monday all.

Afternoon all. Lovely wintery start to the day. Except it’s April. But it’s Chicago, so this is not far off the norm here (which is "expect anything"). Great baseball weather, LOL. Two home games scheduled today. One was originally scheduled as a night game that was moved up to this afternoon because of the weather. The other is also a day game. Bleh. Glad to be indoors today.

Happy – Sorry your foot was hurting so badly. Hope the ultrasound helps finds the issue and is treatable. == I hope bingo relief help can be found. That needs to be a priority for someone, or there will come a time that bingo won’t happen if people aren’t available. Also sounds like the senior center itself needs more and better help. They'd probably love to clone good volunteers like you… but you need to concentrate on you!! And you know Mellie would be after you with the rolling pin if she were here. == I hope the forecast for the day of your farm dinner changes to something better.

Susie – I was thinking of you this weekend and that the TOPS convention would get your motivation going once again. We always hear that we need to put ourselves first in terms of our health, but it’s too easy to do the exact opposite. Good for you recommitting to put WL first.

Annie – I’m glad you had the massage. Pretty good price too. And a nice coupon for another. You should schedule that next one now – you deserve it! == Glad the cardio appointment went well, hope the mammo goes well too.

Hellos to Shad and Dee.
==
On Friday before I got home from work, bf went to a fitness equipment store, but said they had a lot of treadmills and ellipticals, but not much in the way of stationary bikes. That evening, he and I went to the big independent electronics store that keeps expanding and now sells fitness equipment. They didn’t have a large number of different brands of bikes on the floor, but they did have a couple in our price range. One of them was nice than the other and would probably be fine. However, I’m just not all that enthused about this because as I’ve already said a million times, I find that kind of workout rather boring. And yet, I’m hoping it’ll be a temporary thing. And if so…why buy it? Because I don’t have the discipline to get myself to a gym outside the house… Sigh.

Anyway, they had one rowing machine on the floor and it appears to be the same type they have at the fitness center in the recplex. Both of us tried it out. Nice machine. Pricey machine. However, I do feel like a rower is a better workout because it works more of the body than a bike. So now I’m considering that too. A lot of time being wasted between ordering that one bike online and it not working out, and now dithering over what I really want. One other thing being tossed around is bf buying back our cycling trainer from the friend he'd sold it to and using that instead of a stationary bike. (My own bike gets attached to it, so you essentially are riding your own bike.) So there'd still be $$ for another piece of equipment. Huh.

Rest of my weekend was uneventful. I’d bought a bag of soil especially for orchids a week or so ago and finally repotted the orchids in that soil. I hope I wasn’t too late and that they aren’t already beyond the point of no return.

I recorded the new version of the TLC show Trading Spaces, but only watched the reunion portion of it. Anyone watch that show way back when? Gosh, it seems like the original ended so long ago, but almost everyone still looks the same and really great.

That’s about it for me, and now I've run over my lunch hour…off to post. Cheers.

I was going to post this morning but other things got in the way Took my niece to class and then picked her up. She then decides she want to go to the lake. It was beautiful out there but a bit on the cool side. I didn't feel like walking and still don't. The low front that's moving in is taking a toll on my arthritis.
I got the rest of the lab results back and all is good. Still don't know what my cholesterol is but that's okay. I'm still to take my b12 tablet. It was low but with in range.
I told myself last week that I thought I would like to move to Branson but after being home a couple of days I want my surroundings. Even if that means mowing my lawn.

Thankful that you have not signed up for any volunteering this next month. You do need to stay off the foot for awhile to let it heal.

Laura
I still have my old fitness bike and wonder why I'm paying money to go to the gym when I only go once a week. Hope you and BF can decide on somthing you both like.

Good evening ladies I'm walking on the treadmill once again as I'm doing my postings after reading all your post today

Annie: I was really excited when I read that you got your massage now go make that other appointment you deserve all this pampering.

I loved the movie I can only imagine I thought I would cry a lot I didn't really I had tears in my eyes at times but it's just such an amazing song and learning the story behind it makes it even that much more amazing I'm glad you enjoyed it

I'm glad to hear that your doctor didn't think the rapid heart rate was much of anything just keep a watch on yourself girl and take care.

Happy: I hope that the weather will not put a dent in your plans for the farm meal

Your dream is very interesting I always think when people have dreams like that it's very interesting you must have had something on your mind in order to dream that vividly.

Laura: just take your time trying to decide if you want to machine and your home whether it be a bike or treadmill a rowing machine whatever my brother and his partner have a rowing machine and they really like to use it and it does give you a great total body workout

Ceejay: how did you do with the water today?

Hello to Dee and hello to Shad. I hope you both are doing well.

Okay ladies I have 20 minutes left I need to keep it up here I'll talk to you tomorrow

I forgot to mention that I get to go home on weekends because sissy's Dh comes up on Friday night, and I've been sleeping in the bed with sis. This is a 2 bedroom condo. At least I get some time away. I don't want to sleep with the dog.

Annie and Susie hello. Susie: Several people that I know have seen the movie this past week.
