Hey Ladies...Just a real quick post!! I was down to 258.5 : this morning.
I tell ya, when it rains it pours!! Today I had to go to the hospital down in Santa Clara, to get an ultrasound for gall stones. I have been having terrible stomach pains since my back is out and a constant ache under my right breast and shoulder. All the doctors have been saying it was acid reflux. But finally my doctor ordered blood work and I have an infection in my stomach and what looks like it could be gallstones (I don't know how they can tell from my blood???) but she got me an appointment for today to go have the ultrasound. I am still crampy around the middle (under the chest bone). I am going to call her later to see when she will know anything.

As for BJ she is pulling out her hair dealing with Tweddle Dee (DH) and Tweedle Dumm (her dad). Tomorrow is her B-day and Saturday is when she is having Filly's B-day party. They (her DH and Dad) still haven't finished getting everything out of the old house. Tomorrow is the due date and they still need to clean!!! Plus her new house has is not quite unpacked.

I got to go....
Love to all!!
Deborah

Deb I am so sorry for what you're going through. I hope that something can be determined. If it's your gall bladder, it's the most common surgery that we have around here. It's done outpatient and recovery is real quick. What I can't tell you is how to live when you can't work. I don't know if your workplace pays for that or not but we were afraid that kevin may have had back problems and would have needed surgery. So far he doesn't. I'll explain later. I hope that whatever it is, it can end for you quickly. I know you don't need anything else on your plate.

As for BJ, she is YOUR child and is a strong woman. That's where she's learned how to handle all of what's thrown at her. I can see so much of you in her and have never even met you guys. Us mom's really have to learn how to juggle everything.

Our last 24 hours hasn't been so good. We were awoken to a fire in the boys room at 2:45 during the night. It was a box fan sitting in a chair in their room. It burned a pretty bad place in the floor and the fan and chair are a total loss of course. It was probably the most scarriest thing we've been through non-health related. We liked to have never gotten the smoke to clear. The boys were so close to sufferering from smoke inhalation. I took some pictures of the fan if they turn out good enough to see. It's basically the outline and nothing in the center.

Kevin went to the dr. today and they have him on Bextra for inflammation. He had a ton of blood work done and goes back tuesday for results. He was tested for lead poisoning and to rule out metal in his urine. He's exposed to a lot of nasty stuff at work that's really dangerous. They are treating it as arthritis as of now.

Congrats on your weight loss again deb. Have you guys had any of the new salads at burger king? I had one of the garden chicken salads today and had to bring half home. It was too much to eat. I have ordered the South Beach Diet book and I'm going to try the phase 1 of 14 days of almost no carbs. I think I can do it and plan on starting this saturday.

Daphne I hope you're feeling better by now. Post when you can.

Ann hope to hear from you too.

Gayle what are you doing now miss busy?? Got a busy weekend planned? any get togethers or parties.

Well survivor is fixing to come on. I hope I can stay awake long enough to see it cause we are all really exhausted. Have a good friday girls.

Hello Ladies,
another real quick one from work!
Dana...You are sure lucky that no one got hurt with that fire. How did the fan catch on fire like that? I am so glad that everyone is okay! Have you found out what is wrong with your DH? Is he still working? How are the kids? Do you have insurance for the fire?

You are right about BJ being my daughter...I was so proud of her today...she finally told both "men" in her life that she is not going to do anything this evening but go get her eyebrows waxed and go home and start decorating for Filly. They (tweedle dee and tweedle dum) will have to finish cleaning the old house and getting the rest of the garbage out of it!!! I was really happy because when she called me this morning...she said that she would have to spend her evening cleaning and I told her she better call her dad and have him get one of his workers over to the old house and do it himself. She didn't quite relay my thoughts to him, but she did say she wasn't going over there and for that I am so proud of her!!

HELLO DAPHNE, GAYLE, ANN AND MAVIS...POST SOON LADIES!!!

Well, I woke up this morning feeling swollen and not well...I got on the scale and I was up 4lbs to 262.5 (IN ONE DAY!!!) can you believe it! I think I am going to start my period or something, because that is way to much weight to have gained over night!
But I have to tell you ladies, I did cheat yesterday...I was feeling like I deserved something good since I am dealing with all these health issues...so I went and got a huge burrito supreme for dinner from a Mexican resteraunt (These burritos make Taco Bells burrito supremes look malnurished...lol ) They are made with the jumbo tortillas and are as big around as a coffee mug.(what I call...two fisted eat'n... ) I also had some salad and a brownie at lunch that was here at work (neither were on my food plan) and to top the food fest off ...it was a friend from church's b-day yesterday and so I had a small piece of cake last night too

Tonight or tomorrow isn't going to be any better....tonight we are heading down to BJ's to help her with Filly's party. We will probably go out for dinner to celebrate BJ's and tomorrow is Filly's B-day (I have her cake in the frig. here at work). So it will be none stop eating for the next two days. (I just wish I felt better).

I have to go!
DRINK WATER LADIES!!

I really did try to use another color, girls, but the pointer wouldn't get off the purple!

Dana, OMG that would have scared me to death! Do you have smoke detectors? Thank God everyone is ok. How scared were the boys? How are Kevin's legs? What about your dad's pain?

Deborah, you definitely deserved a blowout! I read in the current Woman's World in that article about the girl losing 306 lbs, that the "experts" are finding that if you take some time every once in a while and feed your body the food it wants, it's easier to lose AND to keep it off. If you can, get the May 4th issue and read that article. It's interesting. I know that worked for me. to BJ. Did the "he-men" get the old house done? And how do they like the new one? Have fun this weekend and don't worry about the food. Just jump back in Monday (like I always do...but I rarely make it till Tues)!

Daph, Ann, Mavis...POST!!

I have been doing well on Suzanne, the only problem is that I haven't lost any weight yet! I am staying exactly where I was 2 weeks ago, so that is an improvement! But, I'm still eating gargantuan proportions and have to cut that s**t out! But, I did notice last night at 8 pm that I didn't have any swelling in my feet and legs and that is a great improvement.

I haven't had time this past week to lay down and rest till after dinner, sometimes as late as 9! This is a HUGE deal, ladies! I'm really doing well right now.

I start training for my assistant's job down in the office on Monday! I'm so excited. It will only be about 20 hours a month, but that will take my rent down to around $25/mo!!!! How great is that????? This comes at a perfect time. A hose on our radiator came loose and all the fluids drained out and that's why my 'service engine soon' light came on. In addition to them fixing the hose and clamp, I had them change the oil and they replaced the serpentine belt (which was really cracked and raggedy) and the bill was $163. Debby accepted a post dated check from Mom and gave us the money to "release the van from captivity"! And the insurance man is coming Tues to have mom sign a form to get enough to cover the car insurance. I called them at the main office (since my agent is on vacation) and they told me that we are paid up till May 15. So, as long as we get the payment to them by then, we're not delinquent. PHEW!!!!

I got May's newsletter finished and printed last week and distributed today. I think it's a nice one for Mother's Day month. I'll TRY to get one to you guys this month! (That was 'specially for you, Daphne! )

I'm going to go and get dinner started. I'm having Fennel (first time I'm trying it) and Leek Gratin and bacon-cheeseburgers. YUM! I have to pace myself, or I'm in danger of burning out! My back is on the edge. I went to the chiro yesterday and he mentioned several times about how "tight" my muscles were.

Talk later and have a great weekend everyone.

Love,

Man have we had the rain. We need it but we've had it in buckets and embedded storms. We had a rough storm during the night although I don't remember much of it. The boys are still sleeping in our room and haven't gotten over the fire the other day in their room. We have discussed changing rooms over the summer with them. We used to have that room anyway. It's on an end by itself.

Dh isn't any better. In fact he's worse. They have him on Bextra for inflammation and pain but it only takes the edge off for a while and then the pain gets worse than ever. He said from his neck all the way to his tail bone feels like it's on fire and last night his left leg was totally numb. They have so many blood tests running and we get results on them tuesday when he goes back. They are looking into different types of arthritis like RA and checking for heavy metals in his urine. His white blood cells were fine and that's a relief in itself being that it's a sign of more serious diseases.

I started the South Beach Diet late on friday and today is really my second day of phase 1. I hope I can make it for 14 days but in one day I lost 1/2 pound which is good considering I'm also having my monthly and it's heavy today. I've ordered the book for the diet but haven't gotten it yet but got lots of info from this site. I read in Diabetes Forecast magazine that my blood sugar drops most likely are due to my pancreas over working after eating sugars especially the sweet stuff. To correct that, you wean yourself from carbs like that for a while and the SBD is perfect to help me make that change.

Gayle good luck on your new job and the reduction in rent has to be a huge load off of you. You will be great at it. What is Fennel? With your back pain, do you ever have your legs feel numb? Does the pain in your back feel like it's on fire? We're really just trying to make sense of kevin's pain but I don't know why they didn't suggest a disc problem or a pinched nerve rather than do all of this blood work and suggest it may be arthritis. I'm not that familiar with arthritis but I didn't think you were in this much pain with it.

Where is that daphne? She is so into that new computer that she's forgot about us over here. I miss hearing from Ann too. I hope things are going well for her and that she can tell us so soon.

Deb how much school is left for you guys? I volunteered to keep my nephew one day a week over the summer to help keep him from day care. I hope it wasn't a mistake. It's going to be on days that kevin has to work. Did they get moved in that house? Are all of the parties over with for a while? I wouldn't fret over that little weight gain. I've seen that before too. There's most likely a reason and it's probably not you. We do have house fire insurance but besides the fan and chair, the floor wasn't too bad and not worth the chance of maybe having that insurance go up or anything. We just put a rug over it. It's probably about 2 foot square in damage.

Well I am suffering from cramps and I am going to take something and lay on the couch and watch the race a bit. I have to go out and drag the boys back in after I told them "YOU ARE NOT GOING OUTSIDE, IT'S TOO WET". Not sure what word they didn't hear. Most likely the "not" part.

Hi all I am here just still not feeling well. I am now thinking that I am having allergies. I keep getting nose bleeds now and sneezing a lot, headache, eyes sore and watery. I am going to try the generic CLaritin for a month and see if that helps. I have had a headache for like 2 weeks straight now.
Dana I am so sorry about that fire. I take it that you had smoke detectors then? I am also so sorry about Kevin. i swear you have had more than your share of trouble dear.
Gayle i am so happy about that ***. job you are starting. It will be nice having some extra money wont it?
Deborah how was the party today? Did the men get it all cleaned and packed? The house I mean....... How are you feeling today?
I would chat more but my head is killing me and I am going to go lay down in a few.

Daphne we had fire alarms which sense heat and not smoke. Now we have a smoke detector on their end of the home and we will put one up on the other as well. I hope that your head feels better by the time you read this. Logan keeps nose bleeds. He woke up with one during the night over the weekend with it. It gets horrible too. Like a gory movie or something. I've heard dr's say that the air you're breathing is too dry and that causes them unless it's injury related. Having a humidifier is suppose to help and having gas for power can cause them too.

I weighed this morning and I've lost 4 pounds since I started my new "diet". Did I say that bad cuss word that starts with a D? It's not that bad actually and I knew I eat a lot of breads, pastas and sweets. It's an eye opener. Now I am suppose to stick with this for 14 days (today is day 3) and then go on to phase 2. You add a little more carbs into that but you have to measure them out.

Wanted to let you all know that my DH is in the hospital with heart pains. They are admitting him. The EKG was fine and they thought it was a disected aorta but that ct scan came back negative. When they give him Nitro, the pain goes away so they know it's something in his heart. He's on a nitro patch and they want to draw blood and check for enzymes every 3 to 4 hours tonight. I don't know when we will be home or what may happen. Keep us in your prayers.

I have to get my kids up for school in a minute but lastnight Dh was put in a room on the 2nd floor in the telemetry (sp) room. They put a heart monitor on him and it monitors his heart movement at the nurses station no matter what he's doing. They were going to draw lipids at midnight lastnight. i came home at 10 cause the nurses said he would be fine alone and he did too. The nitro had given him a migraine and after 2 doses of tylenol and something in a shot, he still had it and it was making him vomit a little. Yesterday when I went back a new Dr. came in to talk to him and when he pressed around his heart he noticed that caused the pain. He said he couldn't push on your heart and make it hurt so it made it even more evident that it wasn't his heart exactly but muscle or tissue around it. They said they wanted to monitor his heart all night to be 100%. We were waiting on his lead test result when I left lastnight. He has muscular and skeletal something or the other which was a sign that maybe he actually had the lead in his body at such a high rate that it was eating into his muscle and bones. It's treatable with meds. if that's what it is. If it goes undetected, it can kill you. So I hope when I get down there in a bit that they know more. Well thanks for you prayers guys and I will post more when I know it.

Gayle on the J*O*B and the lower rent and Summerzising!!! I am proud of you lady! I can't wait to get the newsletter...

Daphne....I hope you are feeling better today! Post more we miss ya! How is everything else going?

Mavis and Ann please post!!!

Well, my nurse practioner called me yesterday, and I have gallstones and will need surgery. The hospital called me today to set-up and appointment to meet with my surgeon next Tuesday. My right shoulder hurts and my whole right side is achy. It feels like I ran ten miles and have a cramp (Like I would know how it feels to run 10 miles...lol) I am at work, but I am moving kind of slow.

As for this last weekend, BJ is still mad at Lenny for doing nothing for her B-day (he gave her a card). I went down to her house and helped her make goody bags for Filly's party on Saturday and then we cleaned the toys up in the yard and threw stuff out. By the time we finished it was almost 9pm and none of the resteraunts that she wanted to eat at were open in her neighborhood. We ended up eating KFC for dinner. (This is why she is mad at Lenny because he didn't plan anything or make any kind of reservation or do anything to acknowlege that the mother of his child is having a birthday other than a lousey card). I got up early on Saturday and did the decoration for the Party and then BJ and I went to the $1.00 store for some last minute stuff and the pizza. The party went off without a hitch and Filly got plenty. I just feel bad about BJ and her not getting a decent party. I had to leave BJ's right after cake because I found out that I might have a shot at a three bedroom in my complex (the 3-bedrooms have hook-ups for washer and dryers!!!!) so I came home on Saturday and cleaned, then Sunday BJ came up and we de-junked my apartment and I sent all the "stuff" (i.e. tent, camp linens, crafts and toys) we don't need down to BJ's garage. Yesterday I spent the day vacuuming and cleaning my carpet in my dinning room and tonight I am having about 4 ladies from church over and having a cleaning party. I am ordering Pizza and picking up some soda for dinner but it will be worth it if I can get the house together. Well, I have to get out of here and finish my work!

Love to all,
Deborah:angel

Dana I have said a prayer for Kevin and your family. I am so sorry for all that is going on rightnow. Please keep us posted as to what is going on dear.
Deborah a 3 bedroom? When will you know if you get it? I didn't realise that you didn't have a washer/dryer in your apartment! What floor are you on? I am so sorry that you will have to have surgery. WOw when it rains it sure does pour.
Gayle woohoo again on the lower rent. So what will this job entail? What did Mama make for our dinner tonight? What hours will you be working?
I am better now. I have started to take the generic Claratin. My headache is still here but it is bearable for now. I am so sorry for all of your needs and health isues.
My hubby is having major trouble with his hands. He is getting very concerned that he may not be able to wrork much longer. We are fighting 24/7 when he is here now over every little thing. I wont go into detail but I was ready to toss in the towel the other day. Please remember him in your prayers that what ever is wrong with his arms/hands going numb will cure itself.
Love and miss ya all, Daphne

I will comment more on everyone and my dh later but just wanted to ask daphne if Jason's hands/arms isn't diabetic related? Is his sugars normal?

Deb when will you know when you will have surgery and if you can move? Will you get any pay from work while you have surgery? My SIL just had that surgery 10 days ago and is nearly normal. That is really sad about BJ's DH. Me and kevin really don't do anything for birthdays but we don't mind it that way. If you're used to it then I completely understand why she feels upset. I hope that he makes up for that.

So Gayle what is going on with you now? I"m sitting here watching Idol. They are getting ready to start singing so I can "judge" who should be voted out this week.

Kevin did come home today and we dont' know much more than we did. They are ruling his chest pains as a tear or inflammation in his tissue around the heart. The rest they said is musculo-skeletal related. Sent him home with orders of drinking more water to keep his skeletal system more hydrated and advil for any pain. He's feeling much better and needs some rest. His lead and metal levels in his urine was 8 and in the blood was a 6 and anything under 50 isn't any concern. I sure don't want to see the bill after having 3 EKG's and that CT scan not to mention all the time in the ER. I think it was nearly 12 hours.
