Here are the pros of the puppy:

cute
sensitive
responsive
seems to be in love with me
helpless
Here are the cons:

driving me nuts
whining
barking
tearing down the door
eats a lot (or could)
scares the cats
needs attention
The pupper is going. Wish her luck.

I hope Bagz gains FIVE OF THOSE SUGAR SACK POUNDS TONIGHT

Bagzie, is it too late for pictures? I'd like some!

Cowpernia, I think you should keep the dog because it chose you. That's why I have two dogs and a cat. And a turtle.

Painty, I WISH I could lose 1.8 pounds a week. Also congrats on the DS who will be a useful human! I'm glad you and XH were able to work out the sports event thing. I couldn't stand to be told I had to miss one.

Lohani, I like the Method Pilates, which is more of a Pilates/ ballet blend. Also quite cheap at Target.

Wabby, you are a nice person. I'm glad. How did your icky medical thing go? I don't even want to imagine what it was, but I'm sure it's something I wouldn't want done.

Sugar P- put Dh to work! HahahahHahahHahaha!!!

I miss Kiwi. Hi Muffie, if you're lurking!

So, I'm using this diet software called Diet Organizer. I log everything I eat and all my exercise. It's supposed to guide me to lose about 1.5 pounds a week. This is week 3. I have lost and regained 1 pound.

BUT- I have exercised 156 times this year, and yesterday, I jogged 15 minutes in a row!

Cherrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy, Wabby The Good does not have an icky anything. This is ELECTIVE surgery. She is happy about it.

What is this about everybody thinking I should keep a dog who chose me? I have closing costs to pay on a house any day now and can't afford a dog. An UNSPAYED dog with a huge capacity for food who would happily tear down the door to get to me. Thank you very much.

I don't remember Sparky but I'm glad at least Bagz seems to comprehend.

Cowpernia-- Do what YOU want about the pup. You have a son who can bark, whine, make a mess and eat you out of house and home-- you don't need two carnivorous beasties! (Although they are very loyal.

The biggest obstacle to losing as fast as I want is stamina, and eating whatever isn't moving very fast after midnight. Mmmm. You'd think I could log off and go to bed... it is SOOOOOOO difficult. Do you think a bad bovine bull put a spell on me?

MOOOO

DD is driving with her worldly possession from DC to Boston beginning Friday. When/how did she get so competent and independent. My family hasn't ever had an MBA in it before, but it looks like it's going to.

After a half century on the planet, I'm treating myself to my first manicure tomorrow... and a haircut... (nothing drastically different, yet... maybe when I can wear those Venezia jeans.) I want FB massage after next 10#... and new "business suit" after that..... gotta keep pushing those weights....

And journaling about whatever angsts there are, so that I don't try to drown them in Hershey's or cheddar cheese.

Lohani, find your post???

Cowpernia, you haven't been paying attention. The elective surgery is on Aug. 14th. Yesterday was a nasty procedure that everyone is supposed to have at 50, but since I have a history of c*l*n cancer in my family, my Dr. decided I needed to have early. The good news is that I am healthy as a horse (cow). The bad news is that after 1 1/2 days of no food, I didn't lose any weight. And wouldn't you know it, the Gastro Dr. turned out to be young and attractive. For some reason it wouldn't have been as bad if he would have been old and grandfatherly, like Marcus Welby.

Cowpernia, you really don't need the dog. They are loveable, but require constant attention. Just like this weekend we are going camping, and DD is out of town, so we have two alternatives - take dogs with us (impossible) or leave dogs in their kennel for the weekend, with the neighbor checking on them and suffer much guilt because my babies won't know why I've left them all aloooonnnnneeee.

Cherry, I don't think I've ever jogged 15 minutes in a row at any time in my entire life. You are my exercise idol. That is my #1 goal at this point - to learn to actually like to exercise. Is there hope at my advanced age?

Wabby, I was afraid that was the kind of procedure you had...

How to love exercise? I don't know.... I guess find one you like (or tolerate) and keep doing that one. I'm lucky that I like workout tapes.

Default Hi, Cherry and Wabby

Cherry, I have had times in my life that there have been excercize tapes that I've liked, too. Just not in recent memory.

Wabby, are you sure colon cancer is worse than having a young kid stick a hose up your butt? [why are you having a kid stick ANYTHING up your butt?]

DD is typing for me [I say hi] due to recurring arm injury which is aggravated by typing and other such computer use. She seems to like the smiles a lot [they're colorful. AIM doesn't have such colorful smilies unless you want to pay for them ...]

I'm feeling bad for your dog already. Why can't your son or your fil watch the dog? If you want to run it over here, we'll watch it [but our dog, pixie, will probably attack it...mom is the typist-****-- i thought I'd inform all of you of that]

This accusation is being levied at me because I know if there are any misspelled words, that girl in fl will get all nasty and take it out on that poor puppy. [but still...that "girl in fl" isn't up here saying "QUESTION MARK!!! QUESTION MARK!!!" and peaches likes me better than mom ]

I have to go watch the boys in the pool. The brat and I will be back later. L. [and me(mommie wouldn't let me put my name. i like my name.)]

Wabby-- glad you are healthy and that no one will take a professionall interest in your derriere for another couple of years! I had an MD from India... and he kept calling me dearie and sweetheart... but they had great drugs and were done before I even felt a draft.

I am loving working with weights... It helps that DH bought some for home... but I can feel myself geting stronger.. not just physically but spiritually, emotionally and just generally.

I am also loving the fact that I can SEE results... So I guess what makes the biggest difference to me is some sort of activity that gives quick feedback... (Probably has something to do with why I like to weigh so often).

But the other reason to exercise or participate in re-creation is to have fun.... What is FUN? In summer, DH and I replace tge DR table with a ping pong table... Sweatin in the A/C!

L: sorry your arms hurt... I like the co-created entry. Say high to loving daughter.

Hey Lushkin! nice to see you helping out your ma.

I'm going camping w/ DH, DS & his GF. It will be hot, hot, hot and sunny. The next door neighbors will check on the doggies, Lohani, so don't worry. Actually, he'll probably take them out for a run every day because he actually loves my doggies. We're meeting some friends over there (at the lake). See yous monday.

When does Kiwi get back?

The dog is gone. I am relieved. I do not feel guilt. It was an adorable dog and I hope it finds a home where adorable dogs are welcome. Here they are not.

I am confused by Lohani and MiniLohani's post. Was I being insulted or complimented?

Sorry. Wabby. I just have a full brain. By my age so will you.

Painty, that is SO GOOD to hear. Results!!! YAY

1) He's back tomorrow.

2) The carpet is down and it looks wonderful. I noticed the sticker on the heater/cooler unit had it in the least economical end of the spectrum. Don't like that.

3) Offered to let him look at the house since houses are his thing. Saint Peaches.
