Morning Ladies!

Dahlia, my mom uses the pain patches for her arthritis in addition to prescribed meds and they do help a bit. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and pray you find relief before your trip.

Meg, I have a friend on another board that works at the Merc in Chicago -- to think I never knew anyone from Chi Town before .
You enjoyed the drink I am assuming? Good for you because it sounded like you needed to relax. Just go light on the carbs today to compensate. Your week on the whole will still be great!

Carol, 5 miles on the bike??! I am impressed! I won't even begin to tell you how long it's been since I have been on one. Enjoy the zoo. Scotland, England and Ireland are on my list of dream places to visit. I just love the tastes of each that I get from you and Cathy. Someday .....

Cathy, I am sending something up your way, nothing much, but just something that I saw that made me smile in the store.

Emily, time to get up!!

Not much planned today which is good because it's suppossed to storm on and off all day. Time to get Chris up for work -- not an easy task! I'll check back in later ....

I'm here!! Slept in until 8:30 and have spent the morning on the phone catching up with friends...all of a sudden it's lunch-time and I have hungry boys!
Last night went to a book club then out for smoothies with a couple girl-friends. It hardly cooled down at all last night so it was nice and warm at 10 pm to sit outside visiting. (Still light out too!- love that part of summer!)
Need to get busy with some work stuff. I do in-store marketing for different vendors and haven't even looked at my assignments for this week. Usually I'm supposed to be done by Wednesdays so sure hope it's a light work-load!

Eating is going well- as long as I don't eat out I feel I do pretty well. Still "trying" to exercise -LOL.
Catch you all later!

Hi Ladies,

T..what is it? can't wait to find out i have'nt been to the mailbox since Monday..i just hope that our airline tix are there..they are still talking about a postal strike

While i was out shopping i saw a really digital camera one of those credit card sized ones and i told hubby about it and he asked me if i wanted one to take with us!! that will be so easy to pack around with us instead of my camcorder which is'nt very big either but a little large to stick in my handbag along with all the other neccessities a lady needs

Carol..do they have those tiny cameras in England? i'm just wondering if it would be cheaper to get one there.

I'm afraid my diet is out the window i'm just enjoying summer and eating what i want although that does'nt consist of much apart from snacks and cold beers!!! My weight is stable and i don't see much point in throwing myself into a diet and exercise regime when i know darn well that once i get home it will be time to PAAARTTTYY!!!

I printed out a couple of pics of hairstyles that i like and i asked hubby's opinion this morning and he said "its just the same as what you've got now" Grrrr! No it is'nt!! i have bangs and the rest is all one length..the pics i showed him one girl has a long bob but no bangs and the other girl has hers all framing her face!

I think i'll post them here and get your opinion if you don't mind.

I had the second style (only to just below shoulder length) all my life until just recently when I cut it off. I am a bangs girly (big forehead).

Worked today. Diet going very very well. going to run some errands now -

Talk to you soon!

Cat- I think you would look great with either 'do I think I like the second one better or maybe just because it has bangs I can picture it better on you...I think I would like it even a tad shorter. But I know you love your long hair! Be sure to let us see it! Esp. if you get that cool digital camera! How fun.

Emily - I was setting the same goal! I am a solid 14 right now, and from May 2002 to May 2003 I dropped from an 18 to a 14. I was thinking to be a size 10 on my birthday would be great.

What program are you doing? Are you exercising?

It's been ages since I posted to this thread..
I made my 1st 10 on Saturday... only need to do it 13 more times. HAHAHAHAHA Maybe I'll be able to life more than 10 pounds by then. I can already tell that my fingers feel relatively boney... and panties and stockings go on easier.... But the elastic is still needed at the waist. (3 out of 4 is better than sometimes).

Smiling Sal... I loved the Edinburg zoo... a penguin in the parade tried to eat my husband's sneaker, and on the tramcart ride we met folks who were from our home town in Texas.

(Anybody see the photo of the purple polar bear on CNN today? Treatment for a skin condition.

Meigg... if that is your photo, I cannot believe you'll be 35... I know high school kids that look older than you.

Reminding myself to re-focus, ever downward on the weight. I can face the uncertain responses of friends and lose anyway.

Good Morning!

Just a quickie to say hello to all, and to tell Cathy that I love hairstyle #2 and I think it would look great on you . Seems like we are all partial to bangs.

Welcome Painter Woman and congrats on the weight loss!! Just keep focusing on how great you feel, and the scale will continue to fall. Perhaps not every week but we are not perfect -- even those at goal gain a few pounds here and there. It's getting back to business that makes all the difference.

Sorry this is so short, but I have a ton of things to do today. Hopefully I'll get back later to chat with all of you.

Keep .............

Always, Terry

HI girls,

Popping in to say hi and I'll write more later. Just wanted to say to Cathy that I love #2 but agree with Em that a bit shorter would be very sexy

I'm having a problem with my sisters MIL and emailed her last night about the fact that she invited extra people to the shower that I'm co-hosting with my sisters best friend. She didn't ask and she didn't tell anyone she was doing it until after it was done. It's at least 8 more people. I was pretty stoked last night and fired off an email and am waiting for the fall out. I'll post it and maybe some of you Mom's can let me know if I was too far out of line. I guess I should have waited to calm down before I did it. When will I learn?

Here's the email...any advice would be welcome.

"Hi,

Janet mentioned earlier tonight that you had added some additional guests to
the guest list that Janine had emailed out. It sounds like at least 8 more
people than we had planned on are invited and I am a bit distressed about
this as neither Janine or I was consulted on this. I feel that if you were
concerned about the guest list you should have called Janine or myself to
inquire if more people could be invited.

This is the guest list that Janet gave to us and it was sent out on her
wishes that these be the only people invited to her shower. I do not feel
comfortable with the idea of changing her wishes.

Our house and yard are a decent size, but from past experience we have found
that 20 people is pretty well the limit. If the weather isn't nice enough
for us to be inside, we will be very cramped with even only 20 people.

I know this email may seem brusque and I'm sorry to be taking a hard line on
this. It's not my intention to hurt your feelings as I know you love Janet
with all your heart. We really don't have the room for 30 people in our
home. As well, given that number of people the opportunity for Janet to
visit with everyone will be limited.

In speaking with Janet and Janine, we feel it would be best to have 2
showers for Janet. One with her friends and family (including you), and one
from your side.
Frankly I don't really see another option.

Pam

Hope all you guys are having a great day. Painter Woman it's nice to see you back posting and congrats on the first 10. Post so we can get to know you better.

Thanks,

Pam

Pam, I don't blame you for feeling as such because she really should have asked first. But she didn't and it's "water over the bridge" now. Next step is finding a solution to the problem.

You may want to call her and talk a bit on the phone. Is she a nice lady to begin with?? All your hearts are in the right place -- just try not to have any negativity hanging over the wedding and that's more important than a crowded shower.

Wait and see who RSVPs because it may not be as bad as you anticipate. If everyone decides to come, can you have it somewhere else? Another alternative is having both showers on the same weekend (different days) -- one at your house and one at her house. You can always telephone the guests with the venue and/or date changes.

Is there any reason why your sister didn't want these additional guests?? I'm sure you'll put your heads together and come out with a great solution -- after all, it's all for Janet and that's what's most important.

Don't worry about the email -- weddings are nerve wracking!

Good luck, and don't worry too much!

Love, T

Wow - alot of posts to catch up on!

PainterWoman - congrats on the loss, and thanks for the compliment on the photo. Every 10 pounds I am going to post a new one.

Pam, you and I are SOOO much alike. That would have royally frosted me. I agree - there should be two showers. The MIL was clearly not thinking. Would she do that to a dinner party? The only place inviting 8 more people is appropriate is a keg party at a frat house. Terry - you are way nicer than I am!

Colleen - congrats on your first 10! doesn't it feel great - you will make it!

Well, day 4 is going well. I am tracking everything that goes into my mouth on fitday. cleaned the house, and now going to my nephew's 1st birthday party. can't wait to see him destroy the cake!

I seem to have lost a pound - pretty cool!
