Morning all.

Mel - Sorry you're not up for the shopping trip, but you say it's hot out your way, so just stay home and stay cool. I'll remember what you said about resting on Sunday - now what to say about the rest of the week?

Shad - Well, you sound like you're reaching the end of your rope with this group. Have to say I've never heard of a flying continental f---, tee hee, but your frustration definitely is conveyed. I hope something positive comes along to relieve that feeling.

Patty - How frustrating to lose a long post!! You stay cool & hydrated too.

Ceejay - By August the baby will be bigger and not so fragile-seeming and you'll feel more comfy holding him, so that's a good thing.

Happy - Oh, the mama deer and two fawns - must have been so cute to see! So do the GPS also have off road trails on them like the kind you ride in the ATV? I know nothing about GPS.

Michelle - Good luck at today's interview.

Annie - Hope all's well with you. Keep cool!!

Work went a bit south yesterday because I informed the boss about the remaining software implementation items not making much progress. Of course, her boss has been asking her regularly about the status, so pressure's on her too...aaargh. I'm to put the support guy's feet to the fire. Sigh. Have I mentioned that this type of stuff is sooo not me, and hence one of my failings as any type of manager of people/projects... Bleh. Times like these that I really think that I have to stop sitting back on my laurels and consider job/career moves that better suit me.

So I barely got myself to the 12:30 train after some last minute stuff at work. Doc appt was fine - she has a very calming presence. Shoulder is inflammation of the tendons and it's impinging on the rotator cuff. Given an rx for an NSAID - anti-inflammatory - which I'm to take consistently for two weeks, as well as a couple mild exercises just to maintain my range of motion in the joint. I guess it's just going to take a long time... and in the meantime, no weight lifting or lifting above shoulder height with that arm. Doc recommended Tums or Prilosec/Prevacid for the indigestion, and to change my eating to see if that makes a difference. Naturally all the good stuff is off the menu - acidic, spicy, tomato-ey, and fried foods. And eat slower and not before bedtime.

That's about it. Tomorrow is a vacation day, and late afternoon/evening is when the Relay for Life (fundraising) event begins. Better get back to work.

Morning all...

Surgery went well yesterday. They removed a 8mm size polyp (rather large) from my colon. Doc put a metal clip where they removed it. I should pass the clip within a week or so. However, last night I slipped on the throw rug in the bathroom fell into the bathtub and hit my head...have had a headache since. Can only take tylenol due to yesterday's surgery.

Sorry girls I am swamped today. I will try to get back tonite.

Have a great afternoon/evening.

Loves and Hugs

Good morning ladies,
I am very happy to be in the part of the country that will not be in the blazing heat this weekend. We have predicted highs of 88 degrees which is warm for here but at least it's not 104. I remember days in Memphis standing outside for a few minutes and it didn't take long before your clothes smelled like they were freshly ironed just as you stood there DH was going to do some star gazing last night but as soon as the skies heard that, they clouded up. Today is gray and overcast although they are not predicting rain.

I was sitting up on the deck talking to my sister yesterday evening when I noticed movement underneath the table. L.B. decided to climb the stairs and have a look around the deck not more than 2 feet from my two feet. Not much interesting on my deck for a bunny to eat, just a pot of corriander/cilantro which is not very tasty. We looked at each other for a few minutes, then he went back downstairs over to his house. As long as he doesn't chew up the wood planking like the pine squirrel, no harm done. DH said he was just looking for his apples.

Annie - ouch on the boo boos. That sounded like a bad fall in the bath area. Be mindful of any bright flashes you might see or if the headache intensifies. Feel better Glad they got the polyp out although the idea of passing a clip sounds most unpleasant.

Laura - I'm not totally sure about the handheld GPS - if it just shows direction and degrees (topological) or if it actually shows marked trail maps just like a street map on a Garmin type device. When I was with DH he would always stay on marked trails although if he goes off with the cousin on some manly yee haw riding, they might just go zipping through the forest - not my style at all. I know what you mean about the apprehension of leaning on the support guys to move the implementation along. And people can sense when they can get away with alot so sometimes they take advantage of people like you. Just treat them like an ex-boyfriend you can't stand and push them around

oops I hit submit instead of clicking on the smilies. Easier to continue a second post.

Having tried this myself Laura I would suggest the TUMS. They have added calcium in them and tend to help the acid issue almost immediately. I also noticed oddly enough that not all foods on the bad list bothered me. Some tomato sauces were ok but others like the Kraft boxed Spaghetti sauce as well as the sauce on Edwaurdo's (sp?) pizza sent me running to the TUMS almost immediately. And sometimes just drinking water (??????) would set off the acid. But TUMS help alot quicker than the Prevacid.

Mel - so the hoodlums are out in the city by you too? Madcat was just in Chicago last weekend downtown. Seems like she had a good time but my sister was saying there have been alot of muggings and such in the downtown area so I was a little nervous for her. I imagine the heat brings out the worst of the criminal element too. Sounds like they rotate the grocery store shopping trips. Probably a good thing, I'd think the seniors would not want to pay the prices at TJ no matter if the food was better. Stay cool my friend - perhaps we need to make you a canopy for your "go-cart". That would be a fun project for the chicks.

Shad - sorry to hear you are having a rotten go live. I would be frustrated beyond belief if they told me one way and that's how I taught people only to find out it's something else. I guess in these situations you do the best you can and hurry and count the days to the next project. I guess the only silver lining is that you won't have to stay there permanently. Hope things get better for you as the day rolls forward...

Michelle - good luck to you today!

Patty - sorry you lost the post = stay cool. My buddy who lives outside of Dallas is plagued with grasshoppers this season. Are you having buggy issues too?

Hi Ceejay and Ellen

I'd better get going - laundry to do as well as housework.

Good Evening girls....

The heat go to C today. He went to bed at 7 pm....he was exhausted. The truck that was ordered did not come in so he had to use a Budget truck which was most inconvenient. He had to haul his a$$ up into this truck to make pick ups and deliveries. Being that the predicted temp was 102, my car in the covered parking garage said 105 and out in the drive home it was 111. Holy smokes, no wonder he was exhausted.

I am feeling better since surgery however making extra visits to the lil girls room for poo visits. My arse is in pain, even with meds applied. The headache/migraine was gone by 2 pm, but resumed by the time I got home. Humana is causing it. So much going on at work, too much to get into, but really sucking the life from me and other honest employees. It is unbelieveable. Something that another associate has done that is unethical and ILLEGAL that she could lose her insurane license for has been dismissed. Business as usual. REALLY? We do not trust her, want to work with her,and want to kick her arse. It will be very hard to even be polite with her. It is so stressful.

Enough ranting. C is in bed, been there since 7 pm. This heat and the physical part of the job is taking a toll on him.

Hello to EVERYONE....I will try to post tomorrow....My day at work is cut out for me then tomorrow nite, brother's band plays outside in this crazy heat.

Love and Hugs

Oh Annie, I feel so bad for C. Having watched DH load up the truck in the blazing 100 plus degree heat I could see it sap the very life out of him. That is physical labor at it's worst. I hope he has cool water / sports drinks with him in this awful weather. And I'm sure work is contributing to the bathroom issues. I just don't understand how things took such a bad turn south in the workplace. You have to turn a blind eye I suppose, that's how the cheaters keep on a cheatin'. Hope you get a good night's rest and are able to relax and enjoy your brother's music tomorrow.

Good morning ladies -

Super quick post for me. My 2nd interview at the hospital went REALLY well. It was probably one of the best interviews I've ever had/done. I'm so hoping that I hear some good news from them very soon.

I hope y'all are doing well. I'll post tonight or this weekend!

Much love and many hugs,

Morning all.

Annie - Glad the surgery went well, but sorry you're still feeling the effects. And the fall in the bathroom to boot!! You poor thing, and all the stress at work. I'm glad the workweek is almost done for you. Poor C doing that hard physical work in the heat - it felt like an oven/sauna yesterday. I can only imagine having to work out in it all day. And vehicles get so hot - makes it that much worse. Hope you enjoy your brother's band tonight despite the heat.

Happy - I'm glad you're not getting the blazing heat in your area - the heat index here yesterday was 109!! But it actually felt good to step outside after eating my turkey sandwich lunch across the street at Subway - it was like an icebox in there, and I'm sure sucking down an icy soda didn't help. My chill didn't last long though, lol.

Mel - Love your question at the meeting, LOL!!! So another food I have to watch out for, and Happy also says water can be a problem. What does rhat leave me???

Hellos to Ceejay, Patty, Ellen and Michelle. Hope you're all staying cool!
===
Doing some work at home this morning since it didn't get done yesterday.

This evening's the Relay for Life, and tomorrow night is a concert w/ bf at Ravinia, an outdoor venue. The relay runs about 6pm to 6 am. Again this year I won't stay for the whole thing because I want to be well-rested for the concert and I don't sleep well when my schedule gets fouled up, meaning I doubt I'd sleep enough if I stayed all night and tried to sleep during the day.

After I finish a bit more work, I will look through my e-mails to see what time the relay begins and figure out what I want to bring with me. I haven't been focused on it this year at all and I'm wishing I was more enthused...I'm sure it'll all be good once I get there.

Have a good weekend everyone!!

Ok, ladies still another quick post from me. I worked on Tuesday evening, but not much else went on during the day. I stayed up too late talking to my borhter and SIL (they were watching the kiddies). Wednesday the Dell guy came and "fixed" DH's laptop. then I took the kids for their shots. After a quick lunch we went and spent the afternoon with Mom to give Dad a small break. Mom seems to be moving better and in somewhat better spirits. Richt before I left mom's I noticed a twinge in my back/hip. I took the kids for icecream on the way home. Yesterday I lazed around pretty much all day, I iced my bak several times throught the day. I also paid bills (yuck), went to test DH's laptop again aand now it won't turn on. Spent an hour on the line with tech support and they are sending someone out again today. Then I picked DH up from the airport. We stopped at our old hole in the wall mexican place. So yummy!!

Today is more of the same, waiting on the Dell guy to come this morning, then I have to leave for work early to stop by moms. thenWork this evening and all weekend!!! Whoo hoo. DH is on vacation next week, so it will continue to be busy.

Luv and Hugs ladies!!!

Michelle - Great job on the interview. Hope you get good news from them soon!!

Ellen - Glad to hear your mother is doing well. I hope your back is feeling better today. Hope the Dell guy really fixes the computer this time around!!

We've had thunderstorms going through and now I think we may have the possibility of more throughout the day/evening. Hope this doesn't kill the Relay tonight...

Awww, Annie, I'm so sorry you're so sore after your surgery and the fall in the tub. Sending you lots of love and hugs, my sista. And with all the stress at work...you poor chica. And poor C having to work out in the heat in a rental truck. That sucks. It's been so dang hot and dry. Looks like some storms passed through the Windy City and into Indiana today though (they went south of Milwaukee, which was a bummer). I hope we get rain tonight....or even this weekend. And for me to hope for rain on a weekend, we gotta be needing the rain - and we do. Have fun at your brother's band's gig tonight.

Laura - Good on ya' for doing the Relay!! Who are you seeing at Ravinia? DH and I really want to go there one of these summers for a concert. Heck, I'd be happy to get to Summerfest, but with DH feeling lousy again and having trouble breathing...not sure we'll get there. Oh well, there's always our County Fair and State Fair.

I'll post more tonight or tomorrow.

Love and hugs,
