Hey everyone just wanted to stop by and say hi!
Tomorrow my oldest turns 8 and I can't believe it! I don't know where the time has gone. I am having the boys joint bday party next Saturday (my youngest turns 6 August 2nd) and I am having it at my house. I have never had a party here and I feel like I have so much to get done and pray my MIL doesn't come (haven't seen her since Christmas eve). Long story there but she brings nothing but drama to my life....

Hello. We are hiding out in our house from the sun and heat! We have all the blinds closed to keep out the sun and keep the house cool, as well as the AC on (who am i kidding..it's been on since April! lol) and fans going. It feels good in here.
I did get up this morning arond 8:00 am. and headed to the Y for a 30 min walk on the treadmill.
I've logged on to my work email to get some things cleared out before going in on Monday and since I will need to leave for DH's appointment it helps me make up my time that I will miss.
I had 186 new emails to get through.
Dee: Yes, my DH is John. You are so right that we have to educate ourselves when dealing with the medical world so that we can watch for mistakes and such. I always say, "that is why they call it "practicing" medicine!
I am happy to hear that the scales showed a loss, but distressed to hear that you have TOPS members who are being "catty". When I was a Area Captain for TOPS I had to address that with a couple of chapters. Just a thought that you might want to let your AC know about it.

I have seen 188.something for the last few days and saw 187.6 once! That is literally the lowest I have ever seen my weight during my adult life!!So excited! I'm only going to change my ticker to 190 until I have stayed in the 180s longer, I never thought I would break the 190s!
Cody's 8th birthday is tomorrow and he wants steak, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese so thats what I'm making. I also made him a chocolate cake tonight (luckily I am over the sugar craving stage!). Still hoping the weather forecast for next Saturday will stay nice!
Hey girls just a very quick check in as I am getting ready to go to the movies with friends...weigh in showed me down another two at 200 ...so I am knocking at Onederlands door but they wont let me in just yet, haha...I know I will be there at this time next week
Morning Girls …hope you all had a good weekend and stayed cool. It was SO terribly hot, I am so sick of days with a high in the hundreds !! Today it is going to be 89, that is probably gonna feel like Fall to us, haha ….We went to the movies yesterday with our friends and saw Moonrise Kingdom…it was a GREAT movie, I would highly recommend it if you have liked other Wes Anderson movies ( The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, etc ) …
Mel – glad Cody had a great birthday….you made me so hungry with what you said he wanted for his bday dinner, hahaha ….sounded SO good.
Congrats on seeing 187 !!! I cannot wait to be in the 180’s again …I haven’t been in like 10 years …how sad the time I have wasted.
Susie – Funny, we do the same thing – keep all the blinds closed to keep the cool in, it gets like a dark dungeon in there though. Haha. Keep us posted on your dh and the test results.
Dee – Thanks for the prayers for my Grandma, she had her first chemo on Friday…my Mom said it went well and they gave her a bunch of anti-nausea meds beforehand so she was feeling pretty good the next day…although tired. I know she has a long road ahead of her but she is a strong 81 yr old so I think she can pull thru. I cannot believe you have to deal with clicky b*tchy stuff at TOPS…that is crazy …yes you need to quit if you are not getting the support you need.
Well girls I hope with this cooler weather ( well cooler than the 100’s anyway ) that we can all get a break, and please GOD some rain for the poor farmers and our yards …doesn’t even look like the beautiful green summers you think of, more like a desert.
I am not gonna weigh myself until this Saturday since I am right on 200 …sometimes I do a sneak peak on Weds but I think that might disappoint me, so I wanna wait …hopefully I have the will power to do so ….sometimes I think I sabotage when I get this close…like last night I went over calories by about 500, which I haven’t done in a very long time…but I think subconsciously I know that I put so much emphasis on getting under 200 that I secretly am afraid of getting there….plus I have been spotting some so I might get my TOM this week…so that would be another damper on me seeing the one hundreds this week as I am always up a couple during that week ….what gives? LOL
Morning Girls….so last night I tried something new, the shirataki noodles…anyone heard of them or tried them? It’s an odd little Asian noodle that comes packed in some kind of fish sauce, you have to thoroughly wash that off and then cook them …we had them at a friend’s house last night in an Asian chicken stir-fry …I have always wanted to try them but afraid to buy them in case I didn’t like them ( was having a hard time finding them and only did online )…they come in a pretty big package for noodles and are only 20 calories for the whole bag…plus they are low in carbs so it didn’t affect my bld sugar either …I was pleasantly surprised and will probably buy some of my own now online ( or at the Asian market ). Might look into it, there are quite a few articles and recipes online.
Last night we did our pool workout…my thighs are hurting today and my hip muscles…but I guess that just lets me know I actually am doing good…still spotting some, so don’t know if my TOM is trying to come early or what …that will be pleasant…
But I didn’t get home until like 9:30 last night and couldn’t get to sleep until midnight so I am beat here at work today. Just wanna get thru the work day and go home and relax…I wasn’t able to watch HK or MC last night but I recorded them.
I did watch Bachelorette, and the one I thought she was going to send home went home ( in case no one has watched I won’t put in a spoiler ) …although it was sad to watch.
I was surprised to see -- go home on Bachelorette after the hometown date, I was happy to see that Bachelor Pad will b back w Emilie's rejected 'Jerk guys' u know the ones.

My BooHoo today= I've been eating way too many carbs this last week & r getting belly-aches (from too much drama-stress/difficult people & eating too much fruit/pasta) so I'm bumping-up my protein & veggies today.
I agreed w who left on MC & didn't see HK last night, I was on the phone so I'll wait for Susie or Carri to tell me who left HK.
I have 6 doggies we're boarding for vaca owners & 2 owners asked for grooming also, so I gotta go outside to our 'Doggie Smooch B & B' kennel & go groom them now.

Hello! I'm getting back into the swing of things at work since I was off last week.
I'm just now sitting down to eat my lunch---sort of tells you how the day is going!
I have some good news about my DH and the Atrial Fib. We saw the cardiologist on Monday and he said that the echocardiogram confirmed the AFib. It also showed that his heart is in great shape and that he hasn't been in AFib long.
He will stay on the blood thinners for at least 3 weeks and then they will schedule a "shock" procedure where he will be asleep for 5 min, they use the paddles to shock his heart back into rhythm. Then he is on the blood thinners for another 3 weeks (they use the blood thinners due to the risk of forming a blood clot). Then they will do a stress test and check to see if he stayed in rhythm. If not then he is on the blood thinners for the rest of his life.
I am nervous about the shock and so I am reading up on it and will be asking a lot of questions before we agree to it.
I am looking forward to my 45 min walk tonight with my workout partner who is now back from vacation. I am proud of myself for working out Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of my vacation. Hope it shows at the TOPS scales on Saturday.
As for the Batchelor I was surprised to see who she sent home. I know she really likes those other two but I'm not sure how much of "herself" she will get to keep with eithier one of them. They both seem to "larger than life" people and she is used to the limelight herself.
I do have the utmost respect for her that she didn't stay with any of them in the fantasy suite; she really does put her daughter first.
Carri: 200 lbs!!! knocking on that door!!! So happy and proud of you.
I think you should not weigh yourself on Wednesday so that you don't sabotoge yourself. I hope the TOM doesn't mess the numbers up for you.
I will keep your grandma in my thoughts and prayers as she battles the cancer.

As for your "boo hoo" good for you for seeing the problem and putting into action a plan to get yourself back to feeling good.

Good Morning Ladies ….well I didn’t step on the scale this morning…usually I do a sneak peak on Wednesday’s before my weekly Saturday weigh in but because I was right on the 200 cusp I would rather just wait for the big reveal and hope that on Saturday I am at 198 at least for my weekly 2 lbs off. I just hope that my spotting isn’t bloating me and will cause me to stay at 200 or above.
Dee – I just went online and tried to find the best fat burning exercises I could for the pool …it’s a lot of aerobic type stuff and not much strength training for now…the thing that hurts me the most is the lateral’s from end to end in the pool, really works my outer thigh and hip muscles…however I REALLY need to tighten up my inner thighs and I don’t know what exercises to do for that, be it in the pool or not, so if anyone has any suggestions – let me know !!!
Too many carbs will get me bloated and grumpy….good idea to start back in with more veggies and protein …I LOVE my protein !

Susie – it is always so hard for me to get back to work after a week off….great to hear the good news about your dh, I am sure this takes a load off of you…I hope the blood thinners work the first time and he doesn’t have to stay on them, fingers crossed. My sister had to have her heart shocked like that and it made me quite sad, it is scary for them, it really did a good job though and worked for her. Thanks for the prayers for my Grandma, she needs all she can get.

Hi Girls, it's been a long day, we just came in from the hot-tub after swimming & I drizzled some chocolate & some raspberries into a bowl of cool-whip & sprinkled nuts on top, trying to avoid eating a ice cream banana-split tonight. (we have tons of raspberries & I gotta pick them before the birdies do)
Susie you & DH r in my prayers the next several weeks while he undergoes his cardio exams. Keeping-up your normal walking, etc. routine is fantastic for your marriage, maintaining & improving your personal health goals r very important to continue, so that DH never feels he is forcing changes in your life, due to his cardio health. A healthy-happy Susie, makes John very happy too. This can b a blessing for both of you, w healthier lifestyle changes for happier & longer lives & your marriage.
Carri, TY for the info. Good news about Royce & who knows, who will 'flip-out' next week. Regarding:>lateral’s from end to end in the pool< What r u doing? When I lost fat, my thighs got jiggly/soft too. So I rebuilt my muscles/firming them by swimming, which was also the quickest/best. Power-walking & running helps but gives me shin-splints, so I prefer the water w no-injuries & its a complete body work-out. So if u want to get firmer, stay in the pool & swim. You'll just need more swimsuits to play-in & a smaller size as u get littler every month.
Yes, my kennel is 'Doggie Smooches B & B', (bed & breakfast, because I play w them, like their own families do, each gets cuddle-time). I'm licensed to kennel 8, so I can give them the time they each need daily. I also dock puppy tails & remove dew-claws & other minor surgeries & give vaccinations/except for 'rabies which needs a licensed vet'. I was a Vet assistant @ a pet clinic & I learned lots about small animal, medical care. In the summer my cooking/fashion sewing jobs slow down & my kennel gets really busy w vaca doggies here. Okay I confess, I Luv animals except for: sharks, snakes, gators & spiders. I have allergies, so I don't board birds or cats, which have a high-dander count & when I'm @ anyones home for many hours w birds/cats I get a allergy attack, so I carry a antihistamine/decongestant w me to go visiting. And I do sew for pets also.
ABC had a promo w Emily ripping into a guy on the Bachelorette Tells All, gotta see that next Monday I did Not like it when Ben chose Courtney, it seems like some of the guys r choosing girls w their *. Ben was here promoting his wines in June & when he was asked about Courtney he said yes they did date & that was all. Bachelore Pad should b interesting, don't forget BB starts Thursday
Good Morning Ladies …it is SO killing me not to peak on the scales…but in the back of my mind I think what if I peak and then am disappointed, then I would just be depressed for a while, why not just keep the depression ( or rather excitement ) for my Saturday weigh in.
I feel like I am under 200 but ya just never know…I have been so bloaty lately with my off and on spotting. So I guess we will all find out on Saturday
So……………………….BIG BROTHER starts tonight ( as Dee said above )…either watch it or have your dvr’s ready girls, haha
I am exercising tonight with my friend so I am dvr’ing it and may or may not watch it when I get home.
Dee – I like swimming, and know it is a great exercise, but I would prefer not to get my hair wet each time due to the chlorine…I lighten my hair and it always gives it an odd color after a while, that is why I like the water aerobics where my head can stay above water…plus I only wash my hair about every two days, I have a really dry scalp and it takes a long time for my hair to get greasy.
I am still sort of in my funk ( even with the excitement of BigBrother starting tonight lol ), and don’t know what it is…I heard someone say that losing weight is an emotional thing so maybe some things are coming to the surface, who knows…Summer sometimes puts me in a funk with all the daylight and heat, so that might be part of it…oh well …
Crazy busy at work, and with our normal lives...but all is good.
I go to TOPS tonight after being gone for 2 weeks...not sure what the outcome will be.
Tuesday night my walking/workout partner and I walked for a hour and went almost 4 miles! It was a nice night to walk outside and we walked the local college campus which is very shaded.
Last night we did 45 min in the weight room. I can feel it today!
