I knew this week would be a stall and/or minimal loss. I had an awesome food week in that there was a giant pepperjack cheeseburger out of plan, nachos, 2 chicken hoagies (think of a philly sub with chicken instead), alcohol, and excesses of peanut butter and sneaking handfuls of Honey Nut Cheerios. I'm surprised I saw a loss at all, lol! So anyway, I ate all my points this week, plus all my activity points, even went into the negative 2 points so a half pound loss this week is a success! I'll be more disciplined this week, for sure.
Arabella Yeah, I'm never going hungry, I just worry that maybe I'm not fueling my body enough for all the exercise I'm doing. I'm working on balancing that out this week.
Gwen Congrats on your loss! Keep doing what you're doing and more losses will come!
nat Hooray!!! You surpassed your goal for the first day of summer challenge! Good for you! Keep it up!
Okay, another week with no weight loss. Back up 1.4 again. I know I haven't gained any actual fat. I see improvements in my body and I'm down a whole size. And they keep saying not to weigh yourself when you start hot yoga (in fact they say to quit weighing yourself altogether).
But... that said, I think I could do a little better with my diet and still drop some this month. Here's to trying harder!
ArEyBee, you'll no doubt lose a big chunk again next week.
Gwen, hot yoga is a really rigorous yoga practice that's done in a hot room -- usually over 100F. It's supposed to be really good for detoxing and healing the body. I'm noticing great changes, after about 6 weeks. I go 5 times a week and walk 10,000 steps a day. That's my exercise right now.
arabella, great attitude! Hope the changes you know are happening in your body show up on the scale soon! I would love to reach goal by the end of August - I'm sure my losses will be very slow even when I'm on plan.
ArEyBee, sounds like you had fun last week! Great that you still had a loss!
Another one bit the dust - 191 two days in a row! 1 more to 20 lbs down.
Arabella - hot yoga and detox did it I think! I don't have a class near me, but I "heat up" in the sauna and then exercise, then "heat up" again before leaving. I took two yoga classes this week too (after heating up.) Plus I've been drinking lemon water every morning, and green tea all day long. Those two came from The 17 Day Diet and the Core Balance diet. I just found these books and I'm really enjoying the Core Balance - she teaches total body/mind/spirit balance for weight loss: green/clean eating, positive thinking, and deep diaphram breathing to get the lymph system working.
ArEyBee - What's your exercise routine? You've had amazing losses!
kaycaroline - You're looking good! 6 lbs down in 2 weeks is great!
Natamars - 129!!! I know you're on Congratulations!
jacymacy & everyone else - Thank you for cheering me on! This Thread has been keeping me going. I love seeing you all lose!
Update: Yesterday I was 190, and today I am 189!!! Passed the 20 lb mark and losing 1 lb daily? Oh - this is just too good to be true - but there it is! Oh Yeah! (There's a song in my head - can't think of the words but it's a HAPPY song!)
GwenGrats on the loss!!! Right now my exercise routine is kind of sporadic. I have a personal trainer that I'm with 2 days a week, we do 30-min sessions focusing on upper body one day, and lower body another day. Lots of lunges, push-ups, squats, weights, etc, etc. Weight training days I do interval training cardio (1 minute as hard/fast as I can, then 1 minute slow/light) for 20 minutes, normally on the stairmaster, but you can do it on a treadmill, bike, or elliptical as well. I normally have anywhere from 3-4 weight training days/week, 2 of which are with the trainer, and the other 2-3 days (I have one off day from the gym) are dedicated to a minimum of 40 min of cardio on the elliptical. I have rarely had one day I haven't done any activity. On top of the gym work I've been biking every day it isn't raining, anywhere from 30-60+ min per day. So long as the sun is still up for the day, I'll take my dog for about a 50-minute walk (3-4 times/week). That is obviously very slow-paced because he's a butthead and stops every 2 seconds to sniff something. Needless to say the only time I'm sitting on my butt/not doing anything is when I'm working or sleeping. I haven't sat down to watch TV/movies/anything in weeks now because I LOVE the summer and taking advantage of it after the brutal winter we had in Buffalo this year, and it's paying off in the weight loss department. I use every bit of daylight and every bit of awake time away from work to be on my feet and outside doing something.
natamars Yeah, the past couple weeks have been pretty awesome in regards to eating out of plan and still seeing losses. You're 2lbs away from goal, so close!!!
Arabella You were right about the weight loss this week and I'm not really sure how I did it. My metabolism must be revved up beyond belief now with all the muscle I'm building. Keep up all your hard work, sounds like you're doing a lot of activity and you should start seeing more losses soon!
Got most of a pound off this week from my previous low. I'm noticing a big difference in my clothes though. Things are fitting me that haven't fit since I was 10 pounds less than I am now.
This has been the longest it's ever taken to lose weight. Too old and too many diets maybe? Hopefully slow and somewhat steady will win the race this time and I'll keep it off for the long term.
I took a Zumba class last week and WOW. It was so much fun... must have dropped 5 lbs of water in that hour! I'll be doing that at least twice a week now, with yoga twice a week too. Adding those to my weight training and treadmill/elliptical may just push the scale down faster.
