I am doing fair. My eating is out of control again..... but I am working on getting back to where I need to be.

I am prepared for the school battle tomorrow (he lost his tag and we just got the new one today-- had to get all my ducks in a row).

It has been cooler than average here...... I am not griping about it. I need to be doing much more outside than I am. I just cannot get the "umph" to do it.

Holly..... your outfits sound so cool.

CC..... wow, getting rid of the ironhorse? I bet a "cruiser" would be more comfortable for the long ride...... but I know how you like that bike. Are you okay with the potential of being without it? What will we call you then? ChopperChickAtHeart?

I am really going to give it a try to get my eating under control.... we will see.

Hope you guys have a good day/week if we don't chat til later.

I guess we lost Mandy?

Hey girlies- thought I stop in for a bit, have a meeting tonight to get poker run set up for Sept, so we need to map out ride get shirts ordered and get the breakfast set up on what we will be serving and all that jazzzz

So making it quick as well, have to get supper finished before leaving for the night- Have a great night

VermontMom 08-24-2009 08:39 PM

Hey chicks! CChick, that was real nice of you to help m-i-l clean up her house. Must have been a big job.

Tammy, did you have the meeting with school officials today? anxious to know how it turned out!

just now I did 30 day shred, level 3. I was sweatin bullets!! Yesterday I did a Gilad strength tape, it's a good one. I feel it in my butt today! that means I should do it more often.

Tammy, hugs to you, I know you'll be able to control your diet, you've come so far!!

Be very very careful out there, chicks!! I've seen alot of inattention lately from cagers. ONe incident happened in front of me, a car wasn't paying attention to the car in front of it which was slowing down, and the second car laid down 20 feet of smokin black trails when they slammed on their brakes! At least it was all in front of me and I could slow down in plenty of time.

My IDIOT winter boss mocked me when I was out in the rain on the bike on Sunday afternoon  I was sittin waiting for traffic, in a gentle rain (and it was so warm, it actually was kinda refreshing) and he approaches in his car, slowing down to make the turn, and just yells, mockingly out his window, 'holly, holly, it's raining holly'. $@^&*%! If I could have thrown ANYTHING, beer can, rock, piece of dogdoo, I would have pegged it at him!!!

When I told DH, he said, 'thats it! we're gonna start carrying a pouch of bullets, and THROW them at idiots. We can't shoot them, so that's the next best thing!'

ladyrider72472 08-25-2009 09:52 AM

CC- that was really good of you to help MIL clean her house. Girl- I don't see how you have the time.

Okay, today was the first day he rode his mcycle to school. It is 8:43 my time and I am waiting for a call from the school (as I figure they will raise a stink). If not, we are home free. He had to go to the office to get a parking pass...... so we will see. Keep your fingers crossed. If they put up a fight-- I am going to fight it every step of the way with the newspaper and everything.

Knock on wood, I did fair with the diet yesterday. I went to boot camp this AM, walked a mile before bootcamp, and walked/jogged little spurts 2.4 miles after bootcamp. I am trying to stay off the treadmill-- it is affecting my knees. If I could be this dedicated on the weekends...... I would have it made!

Are you two sitting down for this? Holly, in reference to the cagers being inattentive....... some big shot that just got elected something to do with motor vehicle licensing decided that there were too many fatalities on motorcycles--YAY!!!! :carrot: Someone to give "us" a voice, right? WRONG! He is changing motorcycle education on the test to 47 pages, instead of the laughable 10 questions now. He said 50% of motorcyclists will not pass the skills test--- which in a way is good...... BUT, what about the cagers? There is no further education on their part! Just the cyclist. I am all for more education--- all riders can use more safety tips--- BUT what about the cager that just pulls out or "didn't see"? No more education for them..... no siree Bob-- just the riders. :soap::soap::soap: Okay, that was a big box.... I am stepping down now.

So, Holly...... have you thought about marbles? Your winter boss needed one! I hate that you are going to have to go back there. When do you have to go? I am sure you have the days on your calender circled with a big frowny face!

ladyrider72472 08-25-2009 06:45 PM

You are NOT going to believe this. My son walked into the (new) assistant principal's office and the guy took his license, insurance, and tag number and GAVE HIM HIS PERMIT! The principal which is one of the "good ole boy" system, and had said he could not ride did not have anything to do with it. I am not so naive that there may not be a battle later........

Woo Hoo!

ChopperChick355 08-25-2009 07:00 PM

Holly to funny about the winter boss  When is it that you have to go to go back there? I am sure you are not counting down for that :(

Tammy that is great news about no problems at school right now, and super great job on eating right and going to bootcamp today.

DH went golfing tonight so I am home watching scary movie - Backwoods
I think maybe more gory then scary

I have to agree more education is good but it should be both sides not just us who ride 2 wheels......

So Holly only one week left before you leave :) :)

ChopperChick355 08-26-2009 08:28 AM

Good Morning Girls- It is Hump Day which means we are going to be on downside of the week - even though this weekend is going to be very busy DS is racing this weekend in Minnesota both Sat n Sun it is about 2 hours away so I believe we will just be staying in a motel if we don't take the camper. Tomorrow we have our supper ride - YAY ready to ride a little but
have to get rid of the rain first :(

Have a Great Hump Day

ladyrider72472 08-26-2009 11:29 AM

Holly, the countdown has officially begun for your rally!

CC- did you find it hard to get back on plan after Sturgis? I have GOT to stop eating so much on the weekends..... it just does not make sense to do so well during the week and then loose all senses on the weekend!

VermontMom 08-27-2009 06:41 AM

good morning chicks! Tammy, woohoo indeed! :carrot: and let's hope there is NOT a battle later!

THat is SUCH BS about that MV official 'trying to reduce motorcycle deaths' by limiting the amount of licensed motorcyclists, instead of educating the public!!!:mad::mad:

Yes, the countdown is on for our last big hurrah for the year, we leave next Wednesday morning. I'm doing well in getting ahead at work. Get this, though - the office manager, a lady who's a couple years older than me, is such a baby about things. She's not jealous of my trip, but she's jealous that I get to work hard ahead of time and have the time off, whereas she doesn't think she could take a week off (she could, the place would survive without her, but she doesn't think so) So when I told her how many days I'd be gone (actually only 6) she GASPS, and says, "I didn't know you were taking SO MANY days off! You'd better bring me back a bigger present!"

 huh? My being gone has NO detrimental effect on her, she doesn't have to do anything because I am not there, and why do I need to get her a present?? And it's not like Im going to be at an area where there are gift stores, unless she wants something biker related, and I know she doesn't!

Maybe she's not serious. but I do know when I brought her something from Laconia, it was a pair of brass balls :rofl, I could tell the gift itself wasn't what she was pleased with, but that I had something for her. Whatever!

Reda, hope you had nice weather for your supper ride!

I've skipped 2 days of working out so I'd better do something this morning!

:dust: to us all for our food and exercise!

ChopperChick355 08-27-2009 09:43 AM

Yes during the week my eating is great but on the weekend it really sucks big...... I do try to watch portion control and all but it is usually fried foods which is not good..... I have been a big funk again and the thing is that I have a Vegas Vacation coming up and we got our Jamaica trip now planned and paid for so I have to get back in control here......

Holly there are some people out there that just think nothing can run without them- I believe it probably couldn't run without you if you did not plan and cook ahead of time the way that you do... :)

Well girls we rode last night actually went and looked at a bike, DH is not really liking the Street Glide so much so he went to look at a Ultra Classic full dresser but after sitting on it he maybe is not to sure that he is liking that either.... Who knows he is so undecided about bikes it is ridiculous....

Ok enough about that can't wait to go riding again tonight as well, the summer is going to end early I think we are already dipping down into 40's at night and right now low 70's high 60's during the day this week.

Take care ladies talk to you later

ladyrider72472 08-27-2009 11:28 AM

Holly, maybe she does not want people to know they CAN make it without her..... b/c that would mean she is replacable? Just a thought.

CC- ya know, I think the summer is ending sooner here than it normally does. Even though it would be hot to people not used to it..... we have really had a mild summer. In fact, I don't EVER remember it being like this before. I am not griping though..... I hate the heat (and I live in the south--- go figure).

I have to get busy...... talk to you later.

ChopperChick355 08-28-2009 09:21 AM

Supper Ride went great last night - had a good turnout and great food. The weather was perfect, alot of bugs out though but it was very nice.
I had chicken and didn't really eat any of the fries, so still watching kinda
what I am eating- I know I need to get exercise back into the routine and soon

Well it is FRIDAY - Yay weekend almost here :) Have a great one

Hey chicks :) Tammy I think you're right about the office manager, that she doens't want people to see that the office can be run without her. And thanks for the comp Reda! :)

Yesterday I did Gilad's Hips Thighs Buns tape, and his Abs tape. About 25 minutes total, no cardio. I slept too late this morning to do something before work, but hopefully after work today.

A friend who has an event tent rental company offered DH and I free tickets to see the group Chicago tonight (a blast from the past, huh!) but I declined because I think we have too much to do to prepare for trip.

Well I am embarassed to say that our last used car purchase for me did not work out..the one I got back in late December, the older Honda civic? The transmission has been doing weird things, and DH checked first to see if the filter needed changing and said something about alot of oil being where it shouldn't be...We had such good luck with my little cheap Geo Prism, it was disappointing to have this car give us such a short life.

So DH was checking Craig's list and for fun, put in a search for Geo Prism. Well a person over in Barre (about 30 miles away) had a 94 Geo Prism listed in great condition, for $1300. So we got his address and doubled up on DH 's bike last night, and got there...it is sweet! Really excellent condition inside, outside if you look closely you can see where some body work was done but done with enough care to try to make it look good. It's white, has pinstriping and a spoiler, lol! Pretty snazzy for a cage for a 48 yr old  but we test drove it around at the man's insistence, he showed us the service records and offered to put it up on so we could look at it (he seemed to be rather mechanically gifted, that is good)

It is fun that the instrument panel is exactly like my old Geo, made me feel right at home, LOL. Very nice Sony digital stereo which is always a bonus. Like I said, clean, clean, clean inside; and the trunk is huge and spotless. Four studded winter tires in the deal too. He told us to name a price. I turned red and said, Oh, I hate to haggle! I don't want to insult you by offering lower. He said, go ahead! So I almost whispered, $1200? and He smiled and said, "sure! Now we're both happy, and that's what matters" . Nice guy. So we pulled out the wad of $50's we withdrew from the bank before coming, and bought it, and I drove it home.

this is not the actual car but a pic from the web i found, so the wheels are plainer but it looks this good!

ladyrider72472 08-29-2009 05:30 PM

Holly, that is a cute cage. I hope you get many many miles from it! I know that Craigslist gets a bad rap, but we have never gotten "screwed" over a deal.... just have to trust your gut instincts. I bet the guy really kept it up if he was offering to let you see it on the rack...and showing you the service records. Was it a one owner?

I don't blame you for turning down Chicago tickets for time.... but man it would have been cool if you got to go.

So, DH and I NEVER took our vacations until we got married this past year and we loved it sooooo much..... I think every year instead of getting each other cheezy gifts we are going to travel on our anniversary. He said he would not mind another trip to Vegas again.... but not "rushed" to be there on a certain day this time. I think that is reasonable. We did have reservations and a deadline to meet.

CC- I am glad you had a good ride last night. I am glad the weather was finally cooperative for ya!

I had my employer's wife tell me that I need to stop losing weight and just tone up..... that where I am is fine. It was kinda implied that I have become obsessed with WL. So, I asked 2 of my friends....... and they said they did not want to mention it, but since I did..... they agreed. I really did not think I had become obsessed-- I just a competive person of sort.... if you tell me I cannot do it, well I am going to prove you wrong. The medical charts say at my heaviest I should weigh 175 for my height.... but when I weighed in this AM the scales say 192 so I figure it is a reasonable 194 or so..... so I am a little confused as to what to do. I don't want to look sick, but I would like to have a normal BMI and I currently at 28. Anyway my latest goal was to weigh less than my oldest son b/c I have NEVER weighted less than him in his 19.5 years. Just thought it would be cool......

So, as long as you guys have known me in posting, do you think I am obsessed? It won't hurt my feelings if you say I am.... I guess the more the merrier.

Has this happend to you all at any time?

Thanks,
Tammy

VermontMom 08-31-2009 05:58 AM

Hi chicks :)

Tammy, I don't think you're 'obsessed', at least from what I see here. I will have to ask though, when you are with those people who thought you are, do the conversations usually include talk about your program? Just trying to see where they are coming from :) since I'm not with you in person. But I don't think you are. ****, we are all obsessed to a certain point because we realize that we need to work hard, and we joined here, and we enjoy talking about our efforts.

I really haven't been working out as much as I should, maybe 3X a week...not good enough! I did 30 day shred level 3 last night.

Got to get to Motor Vehicles today to register our new-to-us car. Yesterday I finally packed all my costumes for Chilli! Holy cow there's alot.

We are doing something different for our tenting this time. What we dont like about tents, is that you only have that area in the center where you can stand up fully? even with an OK sized tent. So we are bringing our 10 x 10 canopy, with a privacy screen, and a tarp for the bottom, so that the whole area is tall. I hope this works better.

and I hope that compact sized car will hold canopy, screen, tarp, 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, air mattress, 2 chairs, boxes of logo tee shirts, beads, my costumes, my boots/shoes, my 'regular' clothes, small cooler, coffeemaker (IMPORTANT!) tequila, husband and me :D

have a great day chicks :)
