Oh Holly that would have the mind wondering- Would the company be doing lay offs because of economy? It is nothing that DH did, I am sure of that
As you said unemployment is always there for things like this but insurance is a must have- If indeed something terrible would happen (praying for you not) but there are insurance programs out there that are way cheaper than
cobra- I do know that a friend of ours went to State Farm and got an interim insurance policy that was good for 3 or 6 months to give her time to get another job - it was very reasonable and kept that continuous coverage also since my boys are not continuing their education they get dropped off my insurance at 19 so we went elsewhere - actually not sure if you have a Modern Woodmen Agent in your area but they can help you find insurance and at very reasonable prices.

So did you get any news on your car? Stayed home all day yesterday and really did nothing watched movies and recorded movies so that days when there is nothing on I will have something to watch

Tammy how did fishing go for you? We have only had cold and rainy weather here since last week - yuck

Well it is Monday- what more can I say

ladyrider72472 10-05-2009 09:51 AM

Holly, OMG, I am sooo sorry..... There is nothing else to do but pray! I hope it is not the worst...... even though it does not sound good. Prayer can turn it around. You know..... if he is fired, I would look at ALL avenues.... I mean even though Vermont is an at will state (so is Arkansas), if it was b/c of his wrists/hands statement that is borderline a lawsuit. How long has he been with this company? They may be just looking for a reason to let a person who has been there awhile go so they don't risk him retiring from there. Regardless, I will keep you in my prayers. I am soooo sorry.

My mother is in an assisted living facility somewhere around there. She used to live in Lunenberg...... that is why I was wondering. I don't have much of a relationship with her. She was/is an alcoholic/drug/sex addicted person.

CC: No fishing yesterday..... it rained ALL day. I guess the rain got here a day early...... it was cold and rainy all day. So, I slept most of the day and went to the book store........ I think I lead the life of a 90 year old! Lol.

I have to get back to work. Y'all have a good day.

VermontMom 10-05-2009 07:14 PM

Hi friends  I forgot to post my exercise today, since I had off I could devote a whole hour+ so I did the Cathe cardio max, and then 12 or so minutes of killer Gilad abwork.

Thanks again for the concern and wellwishes!! Tammy, he's been with this company for 5 years. and Reda, as far as DH knows, the company is doing really well with business!

I will just try to think positive. Sometimes others doors are opened, right? :)

Pretty good news about my car - it was the alternator, and a new one will be around $140, I'm not sure if that is with labor or not but I got the call from the mechanic today, and it should be ready to pick up tomorrow afternoon.

I did get a quick ride to town today :) even though it was barely 60, overcast and then started sprinkling. I wanted to get another refill on my depression prescription and use my Flex-Spend card to pay for it (benefit of husband's job) before it gets yanked tomorrow :dizzy:

ladyrider72472 10-05-2009 07:55 PM

Holly........ I so hope it is not going to happen the way you think..... but like you said.... maybe another avenue will be paved for him.

ChopperChick355 10-05-2009 09:39 PM

Yes Holly I to hope that it does not go the way you are thinking but you two are determined and it will def work out in the end

Glad to hear it is an alternator DH said the $140 is probably just for the alternator you will probably have labor on top of that- but then he is just guessing since he is a Ford mechanic not Chevy :)

Glad to hear you got to ride- me I did go look at my bike tonight - hoping transmission will be here next week but we are only suppose to be highs in the 30's - darn

Great job on exercising you two

Tammy do you have meeting tomorrow, how do you think it will go?

ladyrider72472 10-06-2009 09:02 AM

Well, today is my one year of when I started this journey and I did not meet my WL goal...... and my meeting will not be good tonight b/c I threw myself one last pity party last night....... BUT, the guy that owns the boot camp had a talk with me this AM.....and encouraged me and help me set a new goal. So, I am back on it..... and I AM going to do this by the end of the year. We ran my measurements and I have lost 75 inches..... so then he turned and asked me who would feel sorry for me when I told them I had lost 75 inches off my body....... which as you all know is over 6 feet........ so, that put things in perspective. For example, my right thigh was 32 inches wide when I started..... that is freaking nuts..... my son's waist is not that big...... but I pouted over it.... and I am over it. I am back on the wagon..... back on the horse...... back on the motorcycle..... whatever cliche you want to use..... I am too bull headed not to do this! So, if you get sick of me talking about it..... feel free to let me know.

I need a little help.... I am not computer savy at all....... and I am trying to post a before/current picture and I don't know how to do it.... are there any instructions anywhere?

Holly...... let us know when you know..... I am sorry you are having to wait this out.... but like CC said, you two have thought about it and I know you will be fine! I just know it.

CC.... I am glad you got to see your baby...... Just think by next spring she will be ready to go.
Are you getting excited about Vegas?

Well he is a knowlegable mechanic! I forget what the bill showed but yeah, that was just for the alternator so there was labor on top of it. a bit over $200, I can deal with that :)

I didn't know you were having such cold weather!!! ugh!!!

ChopperChick355 10-06-2009 07:29 PM

OMG Tammy that is great - you have done such an awesome job and you need to see it that wayp 6ft when you say it that way it does make all of us put it in perspective- YOU GO GIRL and yes I would love to see before and after pics

On the pics not sure how they do that with 2 pics side by side by I post pics through photobucket.com

VermontMom 10-08-2009 05:53 AM

good morning! I think it's still drippy outside but I do hope to ride to work today :)

about attaching pictures - I only know how to if the picture is already in my computer - do you have the pic in your computer yet, Tammy?

I haven't worked out in 2 days but that's cool, because Tues and Wed are my usual 'don't work out days' but I hope to once I finish surfing web and having another cup of coffee :)

If you can check out any 'foliage web cams' in New England - Oh my gosh, the foliage is spectacular this year. LOTS of reds and oranges. The hills around Stowe, where Trapp Family Lodge is, is just breathtaking. Even for someone who sees it every year. I expect to have to dodge alot of 'leaf peepers' in these next few days and Columbus weekend.

have a great day chicks :hug:

VermontMom 10-08-2009 07:10 AM

worked out! 30 Day Shred Level 3. Panting and sweating :D

ladyrider72472 10-08-2009 08:56 AM

Yay Holly!

Okay..... I need you girls to keep me on the straight and narrow this week. I am not sure what I was thinking..... but I entered a contest with a guy today at bootcamp. It is from today until next Thursday...... and the couple who loses the most weight wins $200. I am sooooo goal oriented...... so here we got. I am going to BUST out of the 190s! :crossed:

Holly, I am soooo jealous that you get to see such beauty. We have to drive about 2 hours to see anything but cotton and rice fields. I know this is twisted but I love the smell of the cotton defoliation chemical b/c that means Fall is here.... that is how I can tell the change of the seasons.

Tammy

ChopperChick355 10-08-2009 09:05 AM

Tammy that is a very good incentive to stay right on track - $200
Good Luck

Ya at least someone has a pretty scenic view- Around here well it is corn and bean fields and with all this rain we still have nothing but corn and bean fields- they will start harvesting and then it will empty fields

Well I am staying home for alittle bit this morning mostly because I didn't sleep well last night DS has been sick since Tuesday and then yesterday morning he climbed into our bed so we let him stay there and I slept on the couch- not all that comfortable, he did say this morning that he is feeling alittle better this morning but he still not moving much

Well you ladies have a great day and tomorrow is Friday :)

VermontMom 10-08-2009 04:57 PM

good afternoon chicks! Oh Tammy, best wishes on WINNING that $200!! What is your game plan? I would suggest...something really South-Beachy, like NO simple carbs or sugars; not even fruit; just protein protein protein, green salads, a few nuts (almonds and walnuts) nonfat yogurt...? And CARDIO for weight loss...?

CChick, sorry that DS was sick...and that it made you lose sleep. Hope you have a restful night tonight!

Tammy - that is funny about you liking the chemical smell :)

I found out I can pick up a few extra shifts at work starting tomorrow, I will be the dish-dog :D and I can do more dish-dog shifts and nighttime dining room waitstaff shifts. It's not a ton of money but it's something. Like I said I'm willing to work

I did ride to work because it was SUPPOSED to get nicer today! At least it stopped drizzling and dried out but it was overcast and 56 on my way home at 3:00 pm, I was cold!! what a wuss :p

ladyrider72472 10-08-2009 06:01 PM

CC- sorry that your son is sick. It sure is going around.

Holly- I am going to try to cut out the sugars and things like that..... not go too overboard on the eating...... but I am going to pick up a few extra bootcamp classes and things of that nature. My partner is doing the strenuous diet stuff.....

I am such as wuss since my WL. I have not ridden to work nearly as much as I had last year b/c it is too freaking cold in the AM (and I am in my work out clothes).
