good morning girls, I am feeling so down because its the last day of the summer job, so I MADE myself do 30 Day Shred level 3.

hope to be not so down next time I visit here..

ChopperChick355 10-18-2009 11:39 AM

Oh Holly sorry to hear today is the last day- Like you said though at least your winter job is there for you now to. You will have to let us know how the call goes for DH on Thursday, he should be able to fight it and win :)
Gald to hear you got to ride I was so hoping to be riding today it is suppose to get to 65 but the wind it blowing like 60+ miles so probably won't get to go afterall but we will wait till this afternoon and see

Sunday getting laundry and stuff done today - I really dislike house cleaning

Well have a great Sunday and enjoy it

ladyrider72472 10-18-2009 01:49 PM

Mandy, do tell how biketoberfest went.

CC- I can tell you are a people person like Holly..... good job on the tips.
I sure hope you get your transmission in and get a couple of rides before you have to put her up for the winter.

Holly- I am glad DH call is Thursday..... hopefully that will put an end to this thing.
I am sorry you have to start the dreadful place tomorrow. At least it is there for you. Maybe it will be better this year.... we can always hope.

Zeke's arm does not hurt him a lot. He is using Ibuprofen for it. In spite the rough spot we went through last spring with him.... he has the BEST spirit and attitude. He does not complain much. He just takes life in stride.

Well, once again, I spent the weekend eating things I should not..... I really have to stop this. BUT, I did have a revelation-- well I have discussed it here before I think. I simply cannot eat pure sugar things on the weekend anymore or "just carbs". I get so lethargic it is not funny. I talked to the doctor I work for (actually his wife who used to be a doctor before her brain tumor) and she said it sounds like it is a sign of diabetes. So, I am going to have to stop eating the good stuff on the weekends. I get sooooo sleepy that i cannot funtion without taking a nap. It is stupid to put my body through this. I have checked my blood sugar when it is doing this and it is very low..... so..... I know what I have to do. I am not going to the doctor to have this diagnosed b/c I don't want it on my chart b/c of pre existing if I ever have to get more insurance. I HAVE to take control of it for my health!
Enough about that....

I am going to start training with the boot camp leader to start running. I want to run a little.... nothing major, but a little. I also want to do REAL push ups..... so he is going to work with me on that to.

I hope everyone had a great day.... Holly, I know it was sad for you. But, at least you have something to look forward to for next year.

VermontMom 10-18-2009 06:40 PM

good evening chicks :)

Thank you for the sympathy about the job  :D True, it could be different this year...It is totally up to me to adjust my way of thinking and try to not let things bother me.

At least I have great memories of a successful work summer, and today was just great with doing what we had to for closing, and having fun with co-workers, and having patrons say what a wonderful job we do for the Club.

Unfortunately, I left work with the starting signs of a cold, my throat is irritated and I feel a little achy...maybe I can fight it off, sure hope so. If not, I haven't been sick since like April so that's not too bad.

CChick, 60's sounds great for temperatures but NOT for wind speeds! Whoa! I did just see a weather report that showed your part of the country having those 'warm' temps. I sure hope it lasts for you, and I hope it blows our way :D

Tammy, well it's good that you identified that the simple sugar and just carbs will do you in. And it is scary to think of blood sugar problems isn't it, that will be a big motivator won't it. And I'm so glad your son's arm isn't paining him, and good for him for taking it in stride!

well have a good night and talk to you tomorrow :)

VermontMom 10-19-2009 08:24 AM

good morning, my throat is not sore, and even though I think I feel pressure shifting in my sinuses, maybe I can beat this cold! I feel good enough to work out so I will, and will post here afterward to confirm.

VermontMom 10-19-2009 09:10 AM

Did 30 Day Shred, Level 1 - but - subbed harder cardio and harder abs, but wanted the different strength moves.

Cooking my breakfast/lunch to bring to work, and will Maybe ride to work, but it's still 30 degrees in the shade, but it WILL warm up to mid -50's, we'll see! have a great day chicks

ChopperChick355 10-19-2009 09:13 AM

Good Morning well I hope it is for some?????

Well my day is starting out crappy- DS the youngest who seems to get into most of the trouble all the time - nothing ever real major but the kid leaves town and doesn't tell anyone that matters where he is going and then when he does this he is always getting some type of ticket and then doesn't say anything until we find it- well this morning we found 2 tickets one for seatbelt violation and one for not having proof of insurance - I know we have insurance but did say anything and it is due tomorrow so now I am scrambling oh and this ticket $400 seatbelt $100 ya go figure -
So anyways I would never kick them out but DH would - anyways he said he was moving out (with other choice words) I told him that would be fine but we are keeping the car because hubbys boss let DS buy it on the books with the assumption he would pay $25 a week well that has not happended he has only paid like $150 so we have been paying it(of course we didn't tell him that) but he is one that thinks I paid $150 you have to give that back and I told him no that was payment for driving it since April

He just got out of court for being at a friends party of which DS girlfriend beat up the friend so they were trying to charge DS with simple assault (misdemeanor) and also burglary (felony) we got him a lawyer and the felony was dropped but he did get the simple assault even though it was the girlfriend that beat the other boy up....... But all in all that was a $700 plus fine he has 4 weeks to pay---
I just do not know what to do with him- the oldest one (1.5 years apart) is so well mannered goes to work stays out of trouble and has never had a ticket -does not leave town unless we know where he is going - I just don't understand after this morning I am just ready to crawl back into bed - not going to be able to put up with anybodies bullsh*t today

Well now that I am down whining and complaining about children- today is suppose to get to 60 and I believe without all the wind that we had yesterday - we can only hope so that we can go riding after work

Hope you girls have a great day today as well- TTYL

ladyrider72472 10-19-2009 10:17 AM

Oh CC, I am so sorry you are having to go through this with your DS. I can sympathize with you.... my oldest seems to be identical to your youngest. My oldest (the one leaving for Kosovo) has to go to court Thursday to see if he can keep his license. He does not know that I know this.... but he has too many speeding tickets. Of course, "none of it is his fault"...... b/c he works at the sheriff's office he will lose his job if he gets his license suspended..... but I have to remove my emotions and stick by my guns. I did not get the speeding tickets so I cannot help him get out of them. I do wish you the best with your DS. IF you need any one to rant to..... let me know and I will give ya my cell #. I certainly know where you are coming from. (btw, that is why I no longer have texts b/c I was tired of getting text in the middle of the night about him being broken down b/c he was racing his truck).:hug: We are here for ya! Keep your head up!

Holly, I hope you get to feeling better for your first day at the winter job. Maybe the exercise will help you through it.:hug: Hope you are better by tonight.

ChopperChick355 10-19-2009 06:09 PM

Well today did go better than this morning= thank goodness :) Have not talked to DS at all today he is at work so we will see what he has to say when he comes home tonight?????
Tammy thanks for the number - I amy have to take you up on that some day :) why is it that one child is always naughty???? And will they ever learn?

Well the weather did warm up but it is very cloudy which isn't let it warm up as much as it should be - darn it

Well TTYL

VermontMom 10-20-2009 07:09 AM

good morning and oh gosh, CChick, :( I am SO sorry to hear of what you're going through :( you do your best and know that you have let your kids know what is right, what not to do, then they go ahead and get into situations...well I am sending my love and support to get you through this  and hope you're able to get in the wind and briefly let the troubles blow away!

I think I beat the cold, or it was just a puny one, I have almost no symptoms at all now so maybe I dodged this one for now, yay!

and first day back at work yesterday was not that bad. Had boss and co workers tell me how glad they were I was back, and customers noticed I was back, one man said 'you're always smiling' and another said I was looking good (because he had noticed weight loss) So I need to keep cool and just not let the occasional things bother me.

Hey turns out I was ONE day late in getting a credit card payment to Citibank and got the notice in the mail that we're now at the default rate of 24.99 %. Yikes. Well it was my fault, but just one day late? and never before? So I called and asked if they could reconsider. And they do put that request in, and said a decision will be made in 48 hours, and I could call to check back for answer. If not, I guess we'll do the 'opt out' thing.

wel I will check back in after I work out :strong:

VermontMom 10-20-2009 09:23 AM

I did Gilad's Step and Tone, and was psyched because my sciatica did not bother me at all; the last time I tried to do a Step tape I just couldn't. So that's good :)

have a great day girls

ladyrider72472 10-20-2009 10:47 AM

Holly, that is so awesome that customers recognized your WL...... doesn't that feeling rock? I have patients that were in here last year ask to see me and since I have changed offices and lost weight-- they ask again for me.... I have to tell them it is me!
The whole CC thing is not fair.... but if they turn you down for the "reprieve" don't give up.... keep at them. They should give in b/c you have not done this before.
I am glad your sciatica is taking a hike..... hope it will be gone for a long time.

CC: How are things at home? I hate confrontation with my DS... I really do. My offer always stands for the cell #. Just PM me and I will give it to you when you want it.

I am going to WW today to weigh. I am hoping for a pound loss..... but as long as it is not a gain.... that is progress. I was horrible this weekend. I always start out with the best intentions.... but lose it once I eat sugar.

I have an auditing seminar to go to tomorrow :( So, I won't be on here much if at all.

Hope you ladies have a good day. It is going to be sunny (which we have not had before yesterday in a while) and 70! I will be taking a walk at the park! Woo Hoo!

ChopperChick355 10-20-2009 05:01 PM

WHoo Hooo first off my tranny showed up today :) taking it to the shop right after DH gets off work- Second Tammy you have 70 and sunny weather that is even better - wish we were getting that

Well I did find out that DS did pay $225 on his fine friday like he was suppose to but now he has a $100 seatbelt fine due by the 27th well he doesn't get paid till the 30th so I will probably have to pay that fine as well
this is never ending can't wait for vacation as they are both old enough to look after themselves.

GOOD LUCK Tammy on your weigh in tonight with WW I am sure it will be fine :)

Hey girls I just want to say thanks for caring ladies it means alot - I feel like I can tell you guys anything and it doesn't end up all over town :) you guys sure do mean alot even though we haven't met face to face I still consider each of you as a very good friend :)

Ok well I am so excited I get to go see my baby tonight and will hopefully have it back by end of the week even though it is cold out but I will have to go riding just for a short one though

Well better get my butt moving and will talk to you later

ChopperChick355 10-20-2009 05:56 PM

Well got a couple of pictures of the back of my hair - Front did not really change much - the picture makes it look alot longer than it feels when I run my fingers through it- wearing a turtle neck so looks like my hair is down to my shoulders even though it is barely on my neck :) Loving it though

Hey everyone. the ride to and from Daytona was FRIGGIN COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The time we spent walking around was very nice though. I went to ROAR first and watch Jerry Palladino do a demo from Ride Like A Pro. I highly recommend going to there site and watch Stephanie Learns To Ride under their free videos. The owner of Roar has written a little book called Hear My Roar...Women, Motorcycles and Mental Health She gave me a copy but haven't been able to sit down and read it yet. I love going there, the give me something every time I go..LOL After ROAR we went to the Speedway and walked around through the vendors, laughed at the dumb girls in bikinis cause it was like high 60's low 70's then it was time to go. It was so cold on the way home, my fingers got stiff and I thought something was wrong with my clutch because it was so hard to pull in...LOL I was just fussing all the way home that someone had messed with my clutch. Well thats was about it for the trip, it was a good ride, nothing to eventful, other than a hummer tried to share my lane with me since I was to the far left.

Holly-sorry your summer job ended and winter one started, I know how much you don't care to work there :(

CC, I can relate to having a troubled child. My 12 yr old(almost 13) just drives us insane. stealing from my purse, going through my room and taking things, not doing her homework, constant lying ect I can't even imagine how to deal with her at 18, 19 ect. I talked to a therapist about her and he gave my husband and I a book to read called Christlike parenting. The suggestions seem so off the wall but they are actually working. It gives conversation examples on how to handle situations, being nonreactive, calm, noncoersive ect. So against my nature....lol I will give you an example..

MOTHER-(to angry 16yr old daughter) Honey, its time to get our chores done

DAUGHTER-(shouting in mothers face) Get out of my face you[!@#%^&*]!If you think I am going to vacuum the living floor you're crazy!

MOTHER-(composed and in control) Im sure there are other things you'd rather do honey but Im glad you understand that I expect you to vacuum the living room floor

DAUGHTER-(enraged) Are you deaf as well as dumb? Read my lips, and I am NOT vacuuming that [!@#$%^&*] floor!

MOTHER(In complete control) Im sorry you're upset but glad that you understand what your chore is.
With a smile she leaves the and goes about her business
daughter does the vacuuming, mom tells sher loves her and kid tells her she is sorry. That was a real example of a mom using Dr Gary Latham's technique.

I really struggle with that kind of control but I am getting better and I have noticed she is to. I highly recommend this book.
