good morning chicks! whoa, what is today? how many days have gone by since I've been here...the days have been a blur! working many days in a row ( I think today is day 13) but riding alot, the weather is finally SUMMERY , very warm (for us, that's high 80's) and sunny. Been to 2 birthday parties in two days, too much good food!

I'll try to get back here this evening; or tomorrow, which I hope to have off :carrot:

Hope everyone is doing good!!

ChopperChick355 08-16-2009 01:48 PM

Good Afternoon :) Had a wedding reception last night and thinking I still need to go back to bed for a bit- had a few to many beers oh and maybe to much Tequila(it was one of our Cancun couples that got married) :)

Well I will need to get right back on track with Vegas trip coming up soon and it was decided last night that we will start looking for our winter vacation of which we are thinking maybe Jamaica in January - we will see what the prices are doing ......

Holly glad to hear that you have been getting alot of riding in :)
but it sounds like you are deserving of a day off real soon - 13 days straight is alot but understandable if boss had to go away.

Tammy have you been able to ride much lately?

Have a great work week

VermontMom 08-18-2009 05:33 AM

good morning! I am slacking on exercise; I did 30 day shred level 3 yesterday, and hopefully this afternoon after work, when I get the A/C goin good, I'll work out then. It's HOT here! :carrot: (for us that's high 80's in day, and not under 62 at night!)

Reda, I still need to check out your Facebook Sturgis pics!

Hi Tammy!! and everyone else :)

I've been working on my next rally costumes, it is EasyRiders Rodeo in Chillicothe OH over Labor Day weekend so it is comin up soon! more details when I have time to come back here, hopefully this afternoon in that air conditioned comfort :D it is Soooo hot in the kitchen at work. But I am not complaining too much!

have a great day!

ladyrider72472 08-18-2009 01:26 PM

Hey ladies..... just a short note.

Holly, how long did you go w/o AC? Gosh, I would die with the humidity like it is here.....

CC: Are you adjusting from your vacation--- I hate going back to work after being off!

I am going to get busy..... ttyl

VermontMom 08-18-2009 09:59 PM

good evening chicks! well my chef boss has been visiting his family in Florida due to his father being gravely ill...we have all pulled more shifts to cover for him (because he would do it for us in a heartbeat!) but he's called to say that he really needs to stay there longer...so we are all just trying to keep positive and keep on working...I have to give up my other day off this week, that is OK, I had such a good day off yesterday. So I will be cooking breakfasts maybe all this week and maybe doing a lunch. Only thing is, it screws up my workout schedule :(

I didn't work out today :( But I DID just finish my naughty nurse costume. I think it turned out great. I got lots of great stuff at a Goodwill yesterday. I bought a oversized silk blouse ($6.50) and glued red crosses on the front; a red snakeskin belt for $1.99 and belted the shirt tight; white fishnets ($1.49) my black high heeled boots, a red ribbon choker, and on the back I spelled out "Nurse Cupcake" LOL! and I bought a box of Mike and Ike candies, the Tropical variety; they look exactly like big capsules, I'll put them in a clear plastic bottle like they are pills to give out. And dh ordered a nurse's cap from ebay; I tried folding one out of paper but it looked terrible

My pirate costume is complete; short black skirt, striped tee (dh might experiment and cut off one arm so it's off the shoulder, and maybe tatter the bottom hem) black and metal chunky belt; black and white skull scarf over one hip; black fishnets, black boots; silk scarf over head and tied to side of head; big dangly pirate-y earrings and lots of gold bracelets and necklaces. All either thrift store or stuff I already had.

AND he ordered a Naughty Cop costume. OMG. It's shiny black vinyl and skin tight and I hope there are no explosions of ME out of it when I stuff myself into it  I do love to dress up!! We leave two weeks from tomorrow! We will be driving this time. We rode in 2006, then drove in 2007; rode in 2008, and this year driving. It is so less exhausting. And it gets us there a day earlier.

Tammy, did you mean A / C at home or work? Usually it cools down at night here enough to open up, but these past two nights it has stayed like 70 with humidity, and then we keep the a/c unit in our bedroom on all night. And we won't turn the living room unit on during the day, but we wait til we come home to turn it on if we need it. There is NO a/c at work though, ugh!! I do have three floor fans and of course the big exhaust fan is always on but OH my goodness it is WARM in there some days. Such it is in the kitchen!

Well I rode home with no jacket or gloves, and boy that felt good. Don't get to do that much here!

well have a great night!

ladyrider72472 08-19-2009 10:44 AM

Holly, your costumes sound fun! So, does your husband get to enjoy them before you display them? :o Wow, I could not imagine working without air! That would be tough!

Today was the 1st day of school here. I am going to have to take the issue of my son driving to school to the school board. He is in the 9th grade and legally licensed to drive his bike in Arkansas.... but they will not let him park it or any other vehicle on school property. It was the same last year, but the difference this year is they moved the school and he has nowhere to park. He parked in a yard of someone we knew last year, but they moved the school way out of town and we don't know anyone that we can let him park at. I called the principal yesterday and he was rude and said it was not their problem to get my child to school. i told him that I have provided my child a way to school and they will not allow it..... so I am taking it to the school board b/c their handbook does not say they cannot drive..... even though he is supposed to be in the 10th grade and that is the "cut off" when they can park on school property. It makes me sooo mad b/c they operate on the "good ole boy" system!

Skinny Genes 08-19-2009 04:45 PM

Hi ladies! I'm a newbie (both to this site and to my bike!)

About 3 months ago my hubby taught me to ride his old Suzuki GS500F, which I'm still cautious on, but getting better by the day! I adore my little blue bike! Now I just need to kick off the pounds so I can be a cute biker chick!

ladyrider72472 08-19-2009 08:24 PM

Welcome Skinny Genes! Glad to have you at 3fc and in the biker thread.

There just "aint nothing" like having your knees in the breeze is there?

ChopperChick355 08-19-2009 11:29 PM

Welcome Skinny Genes :)

Hello Ladies-

Holly your costumes sound like alot of fun- we had our supper ride tonight and we are acutally trying to figue out another rally to do next year maybe instead of Sturgis so we were talking OH maybe ???? That would be great so that we would be able to meet up but we will ride and I was told that
if this is something that we do I will have to sell chopper and get a cruiser, not sure if that is all bad or not???
We did decide school girl costumes for Vegas over halloween

Holly that is so nice of all of you to give one of your days off to cover for your boss while he is away and the one good thing about it is you know he would do it for you in a heartbeat :) I am to excited for your trip can't wait to see pics :)

Tammy kids are off to school and boy do I know what you mean about humidity it is awful around here to. What you have to be in 10th grade before students can park in the schools parking lot??? I think if they have their license it should not matter what grade you are in- Here in SD some of our kids have their license in 8th grade but then in SD you only have to be 14 to get your restricted license.

Well we decided it will be Sandals in Jamaica for our winter vacation and what a deal we are getting $2100 per couple all-inclusive for 5 nights.

Okay I have blabbed enough I will talk to you later

ladyrider72472 08-21-2009 08:51 AM

CC: That is why I am challenging the refusal to let him ride...... he is a licensed driver of a motorcycle (just as I am) and he has a restricted vehicle license besides that until Nov. when he turns 16. Their student handbook that I had to sign off on just played into my hands b/c it reads "all students who are licensed". It does not specify a grade. He was held back and should be in the 10th grade..... and his bday is late in the year.

Holly: You are so talented. I could never do the stuff you do!

ChopperChick355 08-21-2009 09:00 AM

Hey Tammy I would def challenge it as well..... You go Girl!!! :)

Holly week and a half before your rally gets here, wish we were coming but like I said maybe next year- DH is still sticking to if we go somewhere else next year that I will need a different bike- So I have kind of been looking but nothing to serious yet.....

Friday YAY but have a really busy weekend again so no resting around here...

So if I don't get logged on hope you all enjoy your weekend !

ChopperChick355 08-21-2009 04:46 PM

Hey guys it is finally Friday with the weekend off from my monday -friday job- but have lots of other work to do

Hope everyone else has fun plans for the weekend- I am sure Holly is getting ready for her trip which is coming up so fast :)

VermontMom 08-21-2009 10:28 PM

Hi chicks!! Welcome Skinny Genes! hope to get to know you :)

Hi Tammy and CChick! Tammy, I am pulling for your son to get to drive/ride and park at the school!!

CChick, boy it would be fun to party with you in Ohio :carrot: maybe next year, hmm? But getting a different bike...wouldn't it be sad to say goodbye to your Ironhorse...

oh my gosh, I went ahead and ordered a pair of shiny black vinyl lace-up highheeled platform boots  after all my talk of shopping thrift stores and tryin to save money..they were $38.99 but with $15 shipping..however they arrived in 3 days!! more like two days, I ordered them late evening of the 19th and they were here today. I feel like a very sexy b**** wearing them  they will go with just about every rally outfit I have, and I wore them here for more than 2 hours tonight and they still felt good. My other high heel boots (spike heel) would have killed me by then.

My boss's father finally :( did pass, and now my boss is back, he was very grateful for all of us pulling together, and I told him that things were fine, but he was missed :D. I think finally at work, our numbers (guests) are going down (due to school starting) so it will slow down a bit, and I can finally work on getting some things in the freezer for my time off! Thanks for everyone's excitement with me :D

I realized today that it is almost the one year anniversary of our big furry pretty beloved Husky's passing unexpectedly, I think of her all the time but now I can think of her and not cry, now we might see or think of something that reminds us of her and we remember her fondly and with humor, at the funny things she did.

I got SOAKED in the rain on the ride home today, but it's been soooo warm and humid that it actually felt good!! soaked right down to the bra and underwear LOL. I knew it was supposed to rain but I took the chance anyway, it was a nice ride to work.

I just hit 43,000 on my '06 bike, woohoo! Don't we love our bikes

oh yeah! Yesterday I did Keli Roberts step aerobics tape, also held hand weights to make it harder. Today I did ol' 30 Day Shred Level 3, and did it right in front of the a/c!

VermontMom 08-23-2009 06:07 AM

good morning chicks :) well I think the weather forecast yesterday scared away alot of potential Poker Run participants, they were calling for scattered showers and then torrential rain in the afternoon; it was overcast but NO rain all day, and we had about 26 people show up :( I felt bad for the VFW people who were set up with the food, they were expecting well over 100 and had SO much food left. What can you do...

yesterday morning I did Level 1 of the shred, but added some weights. Just to mix things up. not sure what I"m about to do, or IF I'm about to do something :D gotta wake up first .

ChopperChick355 08-23-2009 02:24 PM

Good Morning- Ok well I guess not morning anymore.....

That would be great if we would decide to do Chilli next year but right now it all just talk- guys just can't ever make up their mind
Your boots sound very nice and if you have already wore them 2 hours and still not hurting you are doing great.
Holly so you are going to be a nurse, cop and pirate this year that sounds like so much fun :)

Tammy how are things going with you?

It was a great weekend weather wise around here but to bad didn't really get to ride much - Been helping MIL get stuffed cleaned up around her big Morton building, 40+years of stuff collecting around it

Well girls I will check back in later have a Great Sunday
