Lindor I know what it's like to feel blurk about Christmas, but it's a vicious cycle. You eat because you feel miserable, and then you feel more miserable because you gain weight.

What can we do to help you get back on the wagon?

My housemate has all but moved out. She's coming back tomorrow to pick up a couple of boxes and to hand in her key. Phew!

It's so hot here tonight I haven't got a clue how I'm going to be able to sleep, and I feel bloated and grumpy.

I've been seriously craving potato chips for a week - don't know why.

Anyway - got my head stuck in a good book… must get back to it.

heard that song today that says "i wish it could be xmas every day" what a loser!!!

christening apparently went well.... all a bit of a blur one second it 9am and we all in the church... jemima was adorable and splashed in the holywater making it go EVERYWHERE and she was first of three to be christened so the rev joked that she had just left a little water for everyone else... cute... then i talked to people outside church then i changed her nappy and gave her a feed then took her in to hall where we had morning tea and then it felt like just walked in and it was cut cake, speach (my speach was good apparently) and photo time, then clean up and home..... wooah
it was all good though and jemima looked and acted amazingly

glad it is over... now i can think about xmas.... now i am almost looking forward to it as it is all 'ready' to go, presents wrapped plans made... ho hum

dont want to think about weight but not going to over eat, already feel sick when i think about it.... all the treats that were at the christening were no prob as didnt have a chance to eat them but xmas day pickings may be different

MERRY XMAS GUYS!

I'm here. Ani, Lindor.... I havent had christmas with my family for years. I lost my mum in 93 and dad I hardly even know. SIsters are spread out. Since mum gone we dont do the family thing. It's hard cuse we used to ahve cousins and aunties and uncles and grans and extended family gatherings.

So now I invite friends who are also lonely on christmas. My other halfs mum n dad n sis and her family are always with us, but it's not the same for me anymore. Thats why I lover having my friends. Close friends are the sisters you can pick (or brothers).

Gotta run

WOW - I dropped 100 grams!

And this is Christmas week, so the chances of losing much in the coming week aren't that high. But I'm sticking with Kel's maintenance theory

Vonni I sometimes have Christmas Day with friends, but it doesn't bother me too much if I don't. It's going to be 38ºC here tomorrow, so as long as we don't have a blackout, and the air-conditioner is working, I will be most happy.

I'm going out today to buy some of my favourite food; grapes, watermelon, rockmelon and kiwi fruit - and the diet ginger beer (the only soft drink I ever have) is chilling in the fridge.

This time last year I was 95kg - so I really can't complain about only losing 100 grams, can I!

You women here really help me to stay accountable. Not only do you inspire me to keep going - especially when I don't feel like it - but your support and friendship throughout the year has been awesome!

Have a wonderful Christmas - most of all, stay safe.

Well done Ani! And I have to admit, you are the proof of the pudding that slow and steady wins the race! Watching you over the last year plus, you have shown that 'every little bit counts'. And you have had your own obstacles to deal with too! You are just as much an inspiration to the Aussie Chicks team too!

I'm in today at 200.8 lb - that comes as no surprise to me either. Maybe this week?

And to all those that have better things to do tomorrow than to check in here, I wish you and your families the Merriest of Christmases and hope it is a safe one!

Thank you all for being a part of this journey for the last year and I look forward to continuing it with you all again in 2008!!

Hope everyone has a lovely Xmas.

This is the first chance I've had to sit here and catch up on what's going on. Weighed in on Friday and am down another 300g. Concentrating on maintaining now till New Years is over and done with.

I feel sad for you both Lindor and Ani, having nobody to share Christmas day with, maybe you could find the mid point between you both and share a picnic together.

I'd just like to thank you all for the support and encouragement you've given me through out the year. Thanks for listening to me rant and rave. I hope to see you all again real soon. This next year belongs to us, lets make the most of it.

Have a very happy christmas and a wonderful new year.

I'll try and pop in when I can!

If it wasn't going to be a three day round trip for both of us just to meet halfway, I'd consider it! Catching up with Ani in person was one of the highlights of my year!

I did breifly think about booking a flight to Perth, but I very quickly decided it was an impulsive thing and by the time I've thrown in accommodation, meals etc. it was going to be a very expensive way to runaway from the Christmas blues.

So instead I have purchased a bottle of Rum! Just kidding!!!

It is just 24hrs right? I can get through this!

Besides, I have been dragged into helping out with a kinda work related Christmas lunch thing for contract staff who are here and won't be sharing Christmas with their family. Kinda fitting for me I think!

Well, I think I ate less today then I have in any given day in the last four weeks!! Yes, I did say LESS!!

Here's hoping it is the start of a new beginning.

Question: Why would they give you a tape measure as a 'gift' from a Christmas Cracker? Especially when all the other crackers in the box contained the traditional type of gifts - keyrings, toys, whistles etc?

Something to ponder I suppose!

Ok, so the anticipation of today was far worse than the day itself. I believe I might have had some fun!

How'd everyone else hold up?

I managed to eat around 2500 calories

I drank less than a litre of water, even though it was over 40ºC here.

And this morning when I woke up, discovered that it's TOM. So that explains some of the non-stop eating - but REALLY!

But unlike previous years, where I would have said: "see, this is too hard - I can't stick to a weight loss program", I woke up this morning and laughed at myself. It's just an off day!!!

Lindor I'm proud of you matey! Excellent job.

So who's ready to share their 2008 plans and resolutions?

Just because I ate less does not mean I ate right nor within what should be my daily calorie intake! I just ate less than the average 3500 - 4000cals that I have been consuming on an all to regular basis in the last few weeks!

And the attitude change that you have noted Ani is awesome and is also a great 'weight loss' achievement. Yes, it was just an off day for you and I already know you are back on track now! Thank heavens Xmas day was early in the week huh? We have the rest of the week to try to correct things!

2008? I know what I'd like to do, but I am not going to reveal those thoughts until I know my heart is in it. So for the next few days, I'll be working on trying to restore some fucus in my life! It's all been a kind of blur for a while now. But with Xmas out of the way, I think the haze is lifting.

I will keep you updated of course!

The gremlins got my post....

So heres the same thing thank god it wasnt a long one.

Ate pretty good yesterday, salad, rice and only a little meat. Drank 2 cruisers and a half a can of pepsi. one glas of water.

new year I aim to drink water at home as well as work. Spend more quality time with the kids. Busyness doesnt bring happiness. I got them some board games so we can all play on saturday nights.

I also plan to get my office cleaned up BEFORE the turn of the year. I want to get my whole house done so the clutter doesnt also clutter my mind.

Vonni.

PS well done everyone on an altogether effort for the year. I think we have had more positive than negative results, no matter how small. And for each step forward we have only fallen half a step behind. The most important thing is we KNOW what we have to do and that is half the battle.

Vonni xxx
