Thought I would pop in while it is still quiet here. Man it has been 2 crazy weeks. We have 4 new jobs starting all at the same time and the paperwork is tremendous, plus we have started using a new computer program and I am not familar with it enough yet. It is hard learning this new stuff at 53. Then we have this golf tournament that we are putting on for a charity. Trying to get all the silent auction items and free give aways has me snowed under. Just pray we have great weather on June 12th.
Eating has been good. Actually got in 3 nights of exercise this week too. We had some horrible storms last night, but we didn't have any damage. Did get caught at the grocery while they were going on.
We have a 50th birthday party tonight. Going on a party bus to several bars. Tomorrow we have a graduation party and another one Sunday. DH wants to get to a friend's pool on Monday, so it will be another busy weekend. Now to keep the eating good at the parties will be my goal.
Haven't had time to read much of the posts. Hope everyone is great.

It's the last day of school and time is dragging! I ended up having to give another child an epi-pen injection this morning and my lead nurse is now calling me the epi-pen queen! a title I don't particularly want!! The boy is allergic to nuts and ate a muffin at the fifth grade breakfast this morning, or that's what we think. Fortunately his mom was here with him and recognized what was happening, so he is alright and home resting now after rushing over to visit his doctor. What a last day of elementary school for him, huh?

My Brother got here yesterday and I went out the greet them and the van was still running...I asked him if he wasn't going to stay long or something? He said that he was on his way in to get me because he needed help getting something out of the back. I went over to the van (blacked out windows) and tried to open the door, but he had to unlock it. When I slid open the door, there sat my Niece (Cathy) her husband (Greg) and Jay (my great-nephew) !!! Talk about being speechless! He had told me that the reason he didn't get me anything for my birthday was because he was bringing me a big surprise in May. I'm so excited to have them here! They are all staying over on the beach at a condo, so my weekend will be full of beach time (UGH!) and pool time (YEA!!!)
To give y'all a little background, my Brother and Greg paid off my house and made me a co-owner which means I'm MORTGAGE FREE!!!! This morning we had to run around getting the deed recorded, messing with insurance etc. We're all going out to dinner this evening which will include my Nephew (Jeff) and his wife (Tracy) and their two little boys (Ethan and Matthew) That will definately be a table full of big eaters!
I'm looking forward to this long weekend, only four more working days until I start my new job and I'm really looking forward to that! JACKIE...I know what you mean having to learn something at our age...this new job will do just that to me, so we'll be students together!

BOB: I LOVE that smilie family eating...I picture your family on the yellow side now... haha! Just kidding. Have fun! You have a cool brother. I wish mine was even 1/10th as nice...but mine told me he would never speak to me again as long as I lived. Its been ten years and he has kept to his word. It is hard to miss someone who is so hateful, but at times I do miss knowing his kids.
Bob-Thats a great brother you have. Mine fight in amist theirselves all the time, I don't get in it....lol. I am a very happy medium...lol. Have a wonderful time with them.
Monet-So sorry to hear your brother doesn't speak to you. Sometimes I wish my 2 brothers were closer. I listen to them gripe about each other and I don'e make any comments. I love them to pieces but their bickering gets on my nerves....lol. You have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. We are doing yard work. Nothing else special going on. Will probably go to the farmer's market tomorrow and take a walk. No wonder I've been pooped. I never got out for my walk today--too much going on right here at home, But even then I got 15 500 steps. That's a ton for just around here!! I was amazed. My feet hurt.
For anyone with relatives in the armed services, give them a hug for me.
Evening everyone! I just got out of the pool. I absolutely LOVE doing water aerobics! I was in there for 45 minutes, and tonight I could really tell I was getting a good workout. I still need to invest in a floatation device, but tonight I found a good alternative, I used a noodle - you know those big colorful ones they sell for playing with in the pool- like a stick horse. It held me up just right in the deep end.
Laura and Justin are playing a video game and a friend of Laura's is over. They just ordered pizza. I am trying to stay away from it. I need to go do a few things for the shower tomorrow. I want to make one of those diaper cakes where you roll the diapers and make 'tiers' out of them, and decorate them with baby toys. I also need to clean the kitchen or Ruth is going to brain me when she gets here!
I also need to make chicken salad! Eek! I am forgetting a LOT of stuff! I better go get busy!
I am madly dashing around trying to get ready for the shower. I did a big favor to the folks coming, and took a shower! I am pleased with how much I got done on the house...but it is still far from 'perfect'. I need to keep at it until I have it the way I like it...and used to keep it. I have gotten so LAZY!
It's a hot one down here on the SUNCOAST today!!! No rain in sight and if CATHY isn't careful, she'll cook that LITTLE BUN IN HER OVEN!!
I just got off the phone with GREG about going to the OUTLET MALL tomorrow...He wants to go to BROOKS BROTHERS and look for some shirts, and I need to go to REBOK and see if they have any of the shoes that I wear...I figure that by tomorrow afternoon, all will need a little break from the sun and we can get out and spend some $$$$$
My lower back is giving me fits today. When I got up, I couldn't even stand for any length of time. Once I got going, it got better, but it still hurts. I'm thinking that my SCIATIC NERVE wants to rear it's angry head!

ARGH! The shower is over, went very very well. Unfortunately, my air conditioner was not keeping up, and it got up to 90 in here! Erik is over looking it over right now and thinks he can fix it. I hope so! We were all in the pool...I just got out and got dressed. I may go back in later, but I can't get in any good aerobics with everyone in the pool..no room to move! I checked my bg levels before and after and no change! I guess cause I was not working hard enough. You don't think it has anything to do with the taste of carrot cake I had?
I better go and rustle up some grub for this gang ...
I don't know if anyone remembers me. I keep in Touch with BOB now and then, so know she will say "Yeah, that old broad!"
I lost 70# on SB and unfortunately have found them again. I am now Type 2 diabetic. Altho I watch what I eat and keep sugar under control with diet and Metformin, I am not losing weight.
But that soesn;t mean I'm an angel with food. I overeat on the right things, rather than candy, cakes or cookies....but it's still overeating.
I am so ashamed of the way I look and get around.
I had to put down my dog a couple of years ago. I had her 15 wonderful years. I really missed having a dog for companionship, but couldn't bring myself to get another one because of my cat, Bear, a huge red cat 17 years old. He was having problems amd I kept putting off the inevitable. Finally after Katrina I had to give in. I digress, about two months ago I got a black Pomeranian puppy. She is worth it, but my knees are killing me going up and down stairs so often to take her out. Thank goodness sje's almost (not totally) housebroke. Because of my weight it's hard to bend down and pick her up. She is a dear and so much company.
I need to get control of myself. This board was so helpful, there are wonderful people here. Maybe if I come back I won't be so alone.
It's taken me hours to write this...I start and stop and think what a failure I am, coming back with my tail between my legs. Altho how it could get there I don't know, my thunder thighs should demolish it.
I don't even know what I weigh, a month ago Iwas 270something at the doctor'e office )can't remember exact amount. I have suddenly gained a lot more I know. Had to get some larger clothes.
Please give me some insight to help myself.
