  • Good Morning!! I'm off to the Y. My brother is staying with me for a couple of days. He's 13. Wish me patience....
  • Good morning! I just got in from my two mile walk. It is very pleasant out this morning. I used my new MP3 player and it made the time go by so fast! I love it. Now I feel tired though and could probably take a nap, but I have tons I HAVE to do today. One is finish up my grades and turn them in. I don't have a car though. I am not sure how I am going to get them to the school. I may call and beg my neighbor to give me a ride over. I don't have a car because James has jury duty, and I did not feel like driving him out there to the G-JAC this morning. I may have to do it some if he is not excused, as I am going to need my car some this week. Its just about 30 minutes away and I am lazy! Oh, and G-Jac stands for Justice and Administration center...the G is the first letter of our county.

No challenges this week...but PLEASE post on the exercise thread...I got very lonely over there last week.

  • Ok, lots to catch up on...First and foremost the band concert and recitals were all great! Had a great and tiring time!

I went to the doctor Friday for my yearly physical and it went well. My bp was good and she noted that I had taken off some weight. We discussed my weight goal and she agrees with 150. We discussed the old format that says 5 feet tall = 100 lbs and 5 pounds for every inch over that, she laughed and said "that's never going to happen to me again". She is funny and makes you feel comfortable that she's in the same boat. She says, " when I have to lie down to zip my pants, it's time to lay off the pizza" She then went on to explain that one of the doctors was on vacation last week and they had gotten out late every night and she had not had time to even walk. SO, it's nice to have someone who is in the real world with me and not breathing down my neck. According to her new chart, I should be between 135-140, but she said she would give me a few more pounds to work with (TMI I'm a little top heavy! ). Right now I am headed for 160-170 then we can reaasses the situation. They checked my thyroid, cholesterol and ran a metabolic panel again. Hopefully I'll hear something soon.
I plan to get back into my walking this week since all extra cirricular activities are done for a little while. Hope everyone has a great week!
  • Hey, guys. I feel kinda rough today, been battling a head cold this weekend and still don't feel so good. My eating sucked this weekend and today I'm all bloated and feeling sooo fat. Well, it's a new day. I started the day out on the right foot. Got my workout over with(and posted!) and had a healthy breakfast. I really need to work on getting in some more veggies and fruit. Here's my menu for the day- oh yea, the chicken soup is NOT legal but a better choice than what it could have been.

BF- 1 pk heart healthy NSA oatmeal with strawberries and 1 tbsp walnuts.
    Snack- apple
Lunch- LC lean cuisine and sf yogurt
    Snack- orange
Supper- crockpot chicken soup(has noodles, carrots, celery, etc..-not legal noodles), salad with lite 3 cheese ranch dressing

I'm estimating my calories to be around 1300 calories. I'm wanting to keep them around 1200-1400 calories for the next few days. I gotta get rid of this bloat look ASAP. Well, I guess that's it for now.
  • Just a short note. My computer has gone crazy this morning. Plus my little dog Jackson has gotten into everything. I need to go hunt him down. All went well this week end but it rained everyday so it stopped the picnic we were going on and the cook out for Sunday evening. Hope it settles down so we can grill tonight. I'm doing laundry right now and a little house cleaning so better run... Have a good day.
  • Hi Girls,

Still crazy here. hope to be back on a regular basis tomorrow.
  • GOOD AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

I'm home early today...I'll be so glad to start my new job...I've so had it up to my scalp with some of the people that I work with now. Just 8 more days and then I go downstairs..

MONET...I'm going Wednesday for a Liver Function Test and Lipids The Doc will be able to tell if my Cholesterol meds are the right dosage or if I need to change to another kind. At that point, I'll start using my meter. Be prepared, I know I'll have questions! I'd rather get down to earth answers from you than try to decipher DOCTOR TALK!!

THIN...150lbs is a good weight...my ideal weight is 170-175..my Doc doesn't go by the new charts either and forget the BMI range...Glad to hear the CONCERTS and RECITALS went well. What do the kids have planned for the summer?

    BOB
  • Well all,

I got my kid graduated last Wednesday! The party on Tuesday night went great and everyone loved the new decorating and the yard looked nice too.
I worked Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday so today I've been lazy just doing some laundry.

Menu for dinner legal fried chicken tenders
illegal mashed potatoes for family and legal gravy (might have mine on legal bread)
    vegetable and fruit.

A week from this Thursday we leave for Maui
I have some shopping to do to get ready--shorts etc.

Today oldest DS left for a few days to stay at a friends condo at Table Rock. Sort of an extended graduation party. They will go tubing and grill hot dogs and watch movies. I pointed out to him that my Mother would never have allowed me to do this even at age 18. He'll never understand how lucky he is to have me--(blowing raspberry) so there.

Bob, how was Nanny McPhee? It looks fun in the previews.
We saw Poseidon Saturday night and there was one very devastating scene involving kurt russell that I really wish I hadn't seen.

Gonna go put my feet up. KayeC
  • Well, the results are in and all labs are normal except my thyroid. We will bump up the dose and test again in a couple of months. I'm really happy because I have been tired lately and I can't ever tell if it is thyroid related or just LIFE!

Bob- Sean will have his sinus surgery two weeks from today and in July he goes to band camp. Rachel will dance two days a week all summer. And we are going to my parents on Tybee Island over the fourth.
  • Here is your somewhat fearless leader checking in... I just got out of the pool. I did about 30 minutes of water jogging. It may have been more like 40, but I forgot to take the timer out with me and can only go by when I went outside. I was out there for over an hour, so I thought counting it as 30 was a safe bet since I did some skimming and pool maintenance first.

I turned in my grades, and to treat myself, I did an oil pastel picture. I ought to scan it and post if for you all to see, and critique for me. My kids thought it looked too green for lemons...

I still need to do a LOT of cleaning. We are having a baby shower here on Saturday, and 16 folks are showing up. My house is a disaster, and I will be horribly embarrassed if I don't make some major headway on it. I am feeling more energetic lately (duh! My blood glucose levels are not even 25% of what they WERE! ) so I hope I can make some progress.

BOB: Why are you waiting to try the glucose meter? Chicken? You know I love you... Hey, I think I may try talking Tom into a long weekend in Sarasota. Wouldn't that be fun?

KAYE: I am so glad everything went well for the grad and party! You are a nice mom letting him go off with his friends like that. I would be very afraid! I am so jealous.. I would love to go to Maui! You better take some good digital pictures for us!

THIN: Oh, I love Tybee! That will be fun! I hope Sean's surgery goes well...is he nervous about it? Lucky you...I thought it was my thyroid, but it was my blood sugar.

Gotta go...Tom just got in and wants his dinner!
  • Just a quick note-Sean says that he is not nervous right now, but he knows he will be on the actual day. I asked him about it just a couple of days ago and I thought the answer he gave was actually a mature one, he is not freaking out, but also not saying "no, I'm not nervous at all!" (which we all know would be a lie!) We go for the pre-op appt. next Wednesday, then over to the hospital for preregistration.
  • Well, I made it through day one with Robert here. Now my 15 year old sister is here today, too. They will go with me to the Y again in a bit and then we are off to the Farmer's Market.

We may try to plant something in my yard today. Is it too late to plant wildflower seeds? I'm going to try to go by the Homedepot Landscape store and ask. I'm sooo happy there is one close by

    Ok, off to the Y.

  • Just a quick hello. I have to take a quick shower and get Kyle off the playstation. I'm soooo trying to cut down his time in front of the screen. I"m trying him out on chapter books. Captain Underpants to be exact. He read me three chapters the other day and I only had to help him out on a couple words. He's doing so super with his reading. We had kindergarden screening last week and the woman that was to test his fine motor skills aske him to draw a person (expecting a stick figure - hehe) and he asked if he could draw a fish, and she said that she'd really like him to draw a person (somehow, I'm thinking I already told you guys this...but I'll continue in case I'm thinking of an e-mail to my friends in Rochester), so he asked if he could draw a person fishing...well, she got a detailed drawing of a fisherman with a cool hat and arms, legs, shirt, pants, a fishing pole with a hook, water and a cool tornado behind him. She says, "Well, I think he'll do just fine..." and didn't even ask him to cut with scissors..I could have brought in the penney's catalog and she'd see how well he cuts around the fine corners of the 'fancy ladies'.

Anyhow...I have to go get myself and Kyle dressed to get to the library. I think we're a week late with a TON of books. So, time to send some back and get more.

Will talk to you guys later on!!
  • Good morning guys. Just got to work. Today will probably be slow. My weight isn't wanting to budge, being stubborn. But it's not like I've given it much time. Patience simply isn't a virtue of mine. I got my workout in for the day(3 mile, posted). Here's my menu:

BF- was a shake- made with 1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop chocolate whey protein, 1 sp cocoa and 1 pk splenda. Also had 4 strawberries.
    Snack- will be an apple
Lunch- I have a sandwich(2 sl wheat n'fiber(LC) bread, lite mayo, ham, cheese, tomato, spinach) and a sf yogurt
    Snack-orange
Supper- legal taco salad(lettuce, seasoned beef, ff refried beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream, tomatoes and onions)

My calories for the day will probably be 1300-1400. When's the last time Pancho posted? Well, I don't have much more to say. Will check back in later. Have a great day!
