  • Hello everyone,
Things are CRAAAAzY here at our house. Pretty much the whole house is a work zone. Even our bedroom. We have sanity, somewhat, in our kitchen, and here in my study. I had to turn the AC off because so many doors and windows were open that I was air conditioning the outdoors. Fortunately it is only about 90° here. The workers are all very nice and they show up faithfully every day, so we don't have to put up with various sub-contractors showing up who-knows-when. It has been a bit harder to get my morning walk in because there are things to review and talk about when they arrive, about 8 a.m. and by the time we get everything squared away it is about 9, and I still haven't even had breakfast.

Perhaps I will go out after I finish this post and get a walk in. That makes the walking become "work". Ugh.

Eating is so-so. Almost catch as catch can. I can't really use my stove for a couple of days because I had a defect (the paint was peeling off the front) repaired, and it takes 3 days for the paint to cure. So I think we are going out tonight.

Heart, it was nice to see you on the board.

Tree--Wherever you are, hope your pregnancy is going well.

Thin, hope everything goes A-OK with your son and the op.

My sister called my DM when they got back from the chemo treatment at Duke. My mother acted like nothing had happened at all, which is her way of avoiding the entire thing. Never any apology, or anything. It is really sad! I wonder if she really had any idea how hurtful she is. Even when we are telling her, I wonder if she really doesn't comprehend it because her wall of pride prevents her from doing so. Again, I remind all of us to make amends. Life is too short to let bitterness chop off some good relationships.

Well, I thought I just check in, so I'd better go and try to get in my walk.
  • I just got out of the shower. After our walk and breakfast my neighbor dropped me off at James' work to get my car. I had let him drive it this morning.... I got home and was hot and sweaty, so I put on my bathing suit and jogged in the pool for 15 minutes. I do love doing that. It works to bring down the glucose levels, but it just feels so easy because you are cool and comfortable in the water, and not stressing joints.

HEART: I got an email from Pancho not too long ago. She was very busy and was going to try and post once school got out. I imagine that ought to be sometime soon, so if she doesn't post soon, I may drop her an email and give her a little nudge.

GATOR: My house looks like a war zone, but it has nothing to do with having work done! How I wish! The first week in June, Laura and Justin are having a garage sale, and have made a huge mess preparing for it. The office is filled with stuff for it! PLUS, we have a bunch of furniture that his parents left behind when they moved that they are planning on selling. I hope they do well- not just because they can use the money, but cause I want all the stuff OUT!

TALITHA: You went to the market without me?

THIN: That is so good that Sean has such a great attitude about the surgery. He will probably do wonderfully. Tom had nasal surgery twice, and the second one, back about five years ago, was so much easier than the first one 20 years ago. They really have come a long way...

I need to go figure out my receipts from the arts festival and then take them over to the church. I may not have a car tomorrow, since James is still on call for jury duty, so I better do that today.

  • Hi everyone,

Its a nice hot day here. Staying in the house for now...lol. Am going to do my Austin exercises in a few min. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Schools out as of today.....Yiipppeeee!!!! Next school year both girls will be in school. Danielle will be in third grade and Ashley Pre-K. What in the world am I going to do with myself...lol Well gotta run and start my video.
  • I just got in from running my receipts and the cashbox to the church. I sat and talked to the admin a long time. I have done so much volunteer stuff for him, we have gotten to be pretty good friends. He had some great advice for me for how to get the involvement I need for the ministry we do. It was 20 minutes of his talking, and I am feeling so encouraged, I am planning on doing it again, rather than quitting entirely.

I am really hungry, but it should be another two hours until dinner. If I eat now, I will not be ready to eat again in two hours when the rest of the family is interested. I may just take a nap. I am feeling pretty tired.

Yep, nap time! I just fell asleep in chair and almost fell backwards!

    Later!
  • Its amazing what even just a 20 minute power nap with do....

I need to go figure out something for dinner. It sure will make my husband happy! (I don't know why, but that man likes to eat!)

BOB: I will talk to Tom about the when...if I teach again next year, we may have to do our vacation this summer. That would mean soon...but he might feel like Florida in the summer is not what he had in mind!

  • Good afternoon. I did my WAter aerobics. THat's 2 days in a row!! I'm so proud of myself. I'll go tomorrow and then have my appt with my midwife right after. So I'm doing pretty well with my goal of getting 3 days in a week.

We planted my flowers. I got all perenials, so hoepfully I can keep them going and coming back next year. Lots of coneflowers andummm.. jsut wild flowers I guess. It's pretty.

I had fish tacos for lunch. Deffinitely not OP. Not sure what I will do for dinner and it's already 6pm, sooo.. who knows.

Monet- didn't make it to the DFM today. You up for it tomorrow? Selah promissed to bring hugs an dkisses for ya... I'm thinking it'll be about 1pm. My midwifes house is over there.
  • EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Last load is in the machine, supper is over and I'm starting to wind down for the evening. AMERICAN IDOL is on at 8p.m. and then I'm going to watch TRANSAMERICA...I'll let y'all know how it is. Supposed to be funny as well as serious.

MONET...Just REMEMBER....HURRICANE SEASON starts June 1..they are saying that the storms aren't supposed to start until August, but we just never know! Plan carefully!!!!
    Hope EVERYONE has GREAT EVENING!!!!

  • TALITHA: I think it might be too much for this week, now that I am thinking it through. I NEED stuff, but I have TONS to do before Saturday and I am not very motivated to clean. You know? I am going to vascilate on it...just you wait and see! I will probably try and call you in the morning saying I want to go...then change my mind again. I don't know. Call me if you like and let me see how its looking.....
  • Talitha--Speaking of getting together, my DH and I decided to forgo our trip to Montreal in Sept. so we will be here when you are at the convention. So, perhaps we will be able to get together.

I'm bushed, as I have been since the house work started. I think since there really is no place to really get away from it, it is more stressful than I thought. So I've been hitting the hay closer to 10 than my usual 11.
  • Good morning! I just rolled out of bed and have to go take James to work. He was excused again today from jury duty but has to call tonight to see if he is on for tomorrow.

I SHOULD go walk this morning. It is cool and would be lovely, but my feet hurt from wearing my new shoes too much yesterday. I may put them on and see how I feel. I can't get over how cool it is in the house here. I need to go make myself some espresso.

I almost got up last night after going to bed, to start cleaning. I could not get to sleep and was feeling rather frustrated. The next thing I knew, Tom was kissing me goodbye this morning!

Ok, I am off....but only slightly and you all have probably known that for years!

  • Hi all,
We have a nice day here not too much wind and should eventually work its way up to lower 90s. Yesterday was my younger DS last day of school.
Today he is going to put some applications in for a part time job.
We ate tuna salad sandwiches for dinner last night and they really hit the spot. Something simple as tuna, you forget how good it is.
Working Thurs and Friday and then I was supposed to be off until I got back from vacation but my manager called and sounded so pitiful that I agreed to work a short shift on Memorial Day. I figured that is DH nap time anyway so why not help out. This way if I need a day off when we go to San Antonio in July with the kids I won't feel bad about asking for it.
Going to fold some clothes and put away some dishes but before I do it is coffee time! Dinner will be a chicken stirfry with lots of veggies and brown rice.

  • Hi all,

Hope everyone is going good today. I finally got on the scales this morning after avoiding them for the last 2 weeks. My eating hasn't been very good the last 2 weeks. Haven't went off plan just overeating on legal foods. But I am buckling down and getting back to the plan. I was surprised because after all that I did lose a lb a week. I guess its all the running I have been doing. Thank goodness I didn't gain, I'll take a lb a week.

So that puts me at 38lbs lost so far....Starting weight-275, Weight now-237
    Goal Weight-180 for now.
I am waiting for my tomatoes to get ripe...lol..it will be a while. They are still small and green. I may get a couple green when they get big enough and slice and batter and bake them. I love fried green tomatoes but am going to try and bake instead of fry. Hubby is going to truck driving school and has 2 more weeks to finish. He got laid off from his offshore job and has put in application after application and has received no calls. So hes changing professions. Well I hope you all have a wonderful SB day and I will post after my workout...Am going to start walking with my brother-in-laws wife next week. It helps to have someone to walk with I hate doing it by myself.

  • Hey guys. I'm having a horrible day so far. Ever feel like the bottom opened up and wants to swallow you whole? That's me. Just too much drama in my life right now. I just hope it gets better. Anyway...here's my menu for the day..

BF- was late, so it was a SBD meal bar on the way to work
    Snack- probably an apple
Lunch- leftover taco salad and a sf jello cup
Snack- not sure if I'll eat an evening snack, maybe an orange
Supper- making my squash dish I haven't made in awhile. Squash, rotel, healthy choice sausage(watching the fat), onions and Light Velveeta cheese. Green beans on the side.

I did my workout this morning- didn't feel like doing a whole lot so I did the 2 mile WATP this time. Alright, I'll check back in later.
  • Well, I have been productive. I actually dusted all the major furniture! After getting that done, I checked my blood glucose levels. Wow...who would have thunk dusting was as good walking for getting them down? They were pretty good! And, I actually feel encouraged by the progress I have made. Now if I could just see something happen on the scale...life would be near about perfect!

    Later!
