Good afternoon, although I feel like it still should be morning. I think the lack of energy is in the air.... I feel the same way. (I do have my monthly visitor.. I call him George... LOL, so that could be part of MY reason!!!) I did weigh yesterday and was the same, which I will take with joy for 2 reasons- "George", and we ate out 3 times!!! So next week will definitely be a loss- I KNOW it!!!
I have set a goal for myself. We do a show every year at my studio and this year I have to perform a jazz routine AND tap, plus be on stage for my kids' tap class (and maybe a teacher routine as well!!!) The show is in May. I figure if I average a pound/pound and a half a week I can get down 15 pounds by then!!! I will be "almost" to goal. I want to make my goal by mid July (my bday). I have been stuck for so long at this same weight, I am so sick of it, and it is time to get really serious and stop playing around. So I am posting my goal ticker and ask all of you to keep me in check!!! Well, like I said, I have no energy today, and still have to go and teach 2 classes tonite- my kids are home from school as well (winter vacation) and I need to go give them some playtime. Geesh- am I whining or what!!! I will try to do replies later- I know I'm not great about them either- sorry!!! Have pity on this poor whiny soul!!!!:dizzy: HUGS...... MUNCH |
Good afternoon all you SB's. My lady came today and cleaned house. Everywhere except my bedroom which I need to work in. Its all toren apart cause some day we're going to remodel. I say some day because DH is constantly putting it off. Next week I need to go through my clothes and get rid of those things that are to little for me that I've been hanging onto. Then maybe I can start nagging DH to get busy in there. We have to have new floors and ceiling and lots of work. Its cool but sunny here today. I can't wait for spring. The seed catalogs are coming in and it makes me so excited. B- Kashi breakfast bar.... L- ham and beans and don't know for sure whats for dinner. Have a good day...

Crystal-I live in a town called Denison....about an hour north of Dallas. Not too close to where you are but I know where Lake Livingston is. I worked at Camp Cullen in Trinity as a counselor one summer in college (1997, can't believe it's been almost 10 years).
|
Crystle, I was raised in Livingston! My dad was city manager from 1969 til around 1973, then we opened a tire store on "the main drag", Livingston Tire and Supply. My nephew and ex-BIL still live there as do lots and lots of friends.

Question:
The shopping guide says that non-hydrogenated margarine or butter substitutes are okay. I'm not near a thing of "squeeze butter" as we like to call it. Could someone tell me if it has 0 transfat if it would be non-hydrogenated or if it's possible to be free of transfat and be hydrogenated? Thanks! |
On my bottle of "spray butter", it does not list any type of hydrogenated oil. I think spray and squeeze have the same ingredients. HTH

Hey! Sorry I have not been around this week, we are having winter break and dh is off, so we have been working around the house, etc. I have not been doing well with my eating. My main problem is being off schedule, not drinking my water, etc. We had pizza one night on ww dough that I made in my breadmaker. It was really good, though We should have either cooked it a little longer or made it thinner. It was a little gooey, but still good.
Sean had his first allergy shot yesterday and I think they are going to have to weaken his serum a little. He ended up with a huge reddened, fevered area and said he felt like his arm was going to fall off. ;) I called and reported it to the doctor and they will either weaken it or give a smaller dose next time. He feels much better today. Country- I am in major meltdown mode right now, I need to get it under control!:( Talitha- Glad the little one is doing well and is so active. Is he already getting ready for the Y ! Have a great time in Savannah. We’re going down for fourth of July week this year. Gator- The big cookie sounds good!:p Tech- We went out for Mexican yesterday. (wanted to make Sean feel better after his shot). Yummy! Princess- Good luck with your MIL! Katpo- I’ve been making homemade “hoagie” rolls with my breadmaker for my kids. Every time I make them I sneak in more ww flour and less white flour. They still like them, so far so good!;) Mandi_ The soup sounds wonderful! Monet- I’ve been very tired lately as well. They are retesting my thyroid level, I bet it is time to up my dose of medication! Or maybe it’s just our weather we’ve been having!:?: Nicolee- Let us know about the cauliflower! Munch- My daughter dances and is in the performing company. She has been trying to eat a little healthier for our annual show in May too. She is eating more lunches from home and not at school. So far she has lost about 5 lbs. To be “normal” she needs to lose 20 more, but she is 11 and will grow into her weight soon I’m sure!:smug: Toni- I’m looking forward to spring too. :sunny: I bought some seeds today and we’re going to try a little container and raised bed garden for the first time. Does anyone have any tips to share? Hello! And sorry to anyone I’ve missed! |
I was bad tonight. VERY VERY BAD! Aaron & I had to run to the mall to return some things and while we were there we decided to eat at ChicK Filet (sp). Their salads didn't look too fresh so I just got a combo. Fried chicken, white bun, waffle fries. Then we got frozen yogurt from a place that didn't have any NSA kinds. I hope this doesn't affect my weigh in too badly tomorrow.
I'll probably be doing the mashed cauliflower thing tomorrow night since we dined out tonight. Whenever I do it I'll let you know how it was. |
I should have specified we are planning a veggie garden.:carrot:

Success! I finally got through to the office of the doctor I want to try. I made an appointment for the first available new patient slot they had, March 20. Its two weeks later than I really wanted, but its ok. I hope I like the doctor, but if I don't, there are others I can try.
I tried out the recipe for the groom's cake today. It turned out ok, but not as good as Justin remembers it. :) I also make the cheese straws today. Tomorrow, I have a massage appointment in the morning, then my massage therapist is coming home with me to help me do some stuff for the wedding. I think we will do the cream cheese mints. I finally found the rubber molds! They were in the basket wedged on top of my microwave. I did look there earlier, but not too thoroughly is all I can say! :) Lunch was a grilled muenster and ham sandwich. Dinner was beans, tacos and avocados. I had too many starches today. I better really be careful tomorrow. I checked the metal monster this morning and my loss is holding, which is thrilling. I need to go talk to Laura... Sweet dreams all! |
I'm not very good at cooking brown rice, it gets too overcooked. Does anyone have any good hints? I even tried a Salton rice cooker but that didn't work for the brown rice either. I wish we could use instant rice! Last time on SB I really enjoyed the Fried Rice that was in the book, but I'd like to do a better job if I could.
Also had a Larabar today, the ginger one and glad I read about it here or I wouldn't have ever heard of them. A bar and an orange hold me very well until lunch time and so easy to grab on my way out the door. Extremely busy day at work today (which is good of course). But I hope tomorrow is a bit less hectic. Although looking at what Monet's been up to with a wedding and all, that's hectic. I shouldn't complain. Maybe I'll have to try that expresso :) |
Good morning! I got up at six to make salmon salad for Tom. I also made espresso, and I am now on my second (or is it third?) cup. I have about 30 minutes before I have to throw on clothes and go to my massage appointment. My massage therapist lives four or five houses down, so its a nice walk.
Wednesday, at school, my pedometer died. It needs a new battery. Now I have two perfectly good pedometers that need a battery and I have so far, not found the correct one. I think I will look online, if I can remember the correct number. Such a pain... I will be back later... :grouphug:  |
Happy Friday All!
Busy today so I can't stay here long but wanted to drop in and say good morning.
Have a happy day! Princess |
Dripping--I know what you mean with the brown rice. Mine would just get too gummy or something. And it took 45 minutes to cook! So I started using the Success brand brown rice. It is perfect. Wonderful brown rice in 10 minutes.

Good Morning Everyone!
Gator, maybe I should do the same thing and just use the Success Rice. I always used to use their white rice and like you said, it turns out perfect. I had more luck when using Basmati rice, but that too took 45 minutes and sometimes I don't want to bother. Using the Success makes sense to me. Thanks! |
