Good morning all
Well it is Wednesday and hump day! The week is going fast...
I have been fairly on plan this week but still need to get out for a couple of walks... it has been really cold here but sunny so it is decieving... but once you step outside you know it is still winter. Well my MIL comes into town today... she will be staying with us for a while and looking for a small apartment. I hope that she finds one soon... I know how that sounds but I don't want this to effect my marriage... my husband and I have a had a rough two years and we are just starting to get things back on track. My MIL lived in the north for most of her life but she moved to the south less then a year ago... She moved because there was too much drama where she lived in the north and now there is too much drama in the south and I am just worried that the drama may be a bit of her own creation and therefore will follow her here. If that makes any sense... Oh well, I will just take it one day at a time and see what happens. Menu: B: Oatmeal S: Banana L: Split pea and ham soup, with a hunk of cheese and a couple crackers... S: Strawberries D: Chicken and mushroom dish with a salad or veggie on the side. Have a happy day all! Princess |
Good morning ladies.
I am a little bummed out today. Have a problem I have been dealing with for awhile and it has me stressed out. After awhile you wonder if it is you and not the other person. Oh well. Had a breast cancer support group meeting last night so I did not get to the gym. I should get there tonight and tomorrow night. Tech, have fun in Vermont. Gt back on track when you get back. Mandi, yes the bagels are legal if 3 or less grams of sugar. Watch their calories, if there is more than 80, it counts as 2 starches. Hint: I always put peanut butter on mine. Cindy, sorry you are so stressed and not feeling well. We are here when you find some time. KayeC, hope you got some rest last night and are rejuvenated today. Thunder, congrats on your 3 pound loss. Monet, I'm sure you will come up with something exciting for the kids to do today. Enjoy. Teensy, I didn't even go to the site to look at the teaser. I was afraid I wouldn't know any. Princess, guess we know what you will be doing all weekend. Apt shopping. Good luck with your MIL. It can be stressing. Got to run. Have a great day. |
Solly-"Watch their calories, if there is more than 80, it counts as 2 starches." OMG! I had a serving of WW pasta last night...it was about 3/4 cup cooked and it had 190 calories per 1/2 cup dry (which is 1 cup cooked). So, that would be like 2 whole servings? Is that correct? I guess it is good that is the only starch I wound up having yesterday! Does anyone have any suggestions for brands of WW pasta that have less calories?
Is that info in the book about the 80 calories? I was just wondering because I haven't come across it yet. I read something in the book last night that I thought was saying that a single serving size was whatever the package said it was for that particular item. I just went back and re-read and I had misunderstood what it was saying. I am a little over halfway through reading it. I guess I need to get in gear and finish it because I still have a lot of questions. Are we allowed to have lunch meat as long as there is not much sugar in it? Also, I was wondering about powdered cocoa. Excuse me if I'm being dumb here. If the only ingredient listed is cocoa, does that make it 100% cocoa? Is this legal? Thanks Mandi |

Gee this week is flying by. I'm trying to get hold of the kennel where my puppy is to make sure I can still pick him up on Sat. I'm so excited. He'll keep me really busy trying to housebreak him and stuff for a while. I finally got out of my snow filled hill yesterday and in the afternoon it really melted off. Today is gloomy and cold. Woke up this morning not feeling so well so I'm taking it easy today. I put a pot of ham and beans on to cook for dinner. Its just that kind of weather. And the house smells so good. Thought about making so wheat rolls since I can't have cornbread. I'll decide later. Better run the laundry is calling.

Good morning.
I admit I'm so bad. :) I didn't like how the other scales functioned so I had hubby pick up some new ones. We had to laugh. They are both rather large scales so the bathroom looked like a compulsive weighers heaven. I put the ornery pair in the back of the cabiinet. Hopefully never to be seen again. :)
Toni...have fun with your new puppy. We took Lil Bit this morning for her first set of shots. They said she is a wooping 1.4 pounds now. Solly...((hugzz)) Sometimes the problem isn't anyones fault. Praying you find resolution soon. If you can't fix it I hope you can distance yourself from it so you will have less stress. Monet...howdy. Hope you are having a GREAT day at school. Princess...I hope things work out with your MIL. Teensy..thanks for sharing the test. It was a lot of fun. Thunder...WTG on your 3 pound loss. You are doing wonderful. Talitha...((hugzz)) Kaye...howdy. Hope you got some rest and are feeling tons better today. Bob...how are you doing sweet lady? And your mama? Cindy...((hugzz)) Praying you find some Cindy time where you can relax and forget all the stress for a bit. Dripping..howdy Mandi...I don't see a problem with cocoa powder. I've used it with splenda to make hot cocoa before. Poncho...if you are lurking...hey! :) Heartmom...just in case you are stopping by. HELLO! How are you doing? We are fixing to head out for the day. Hope you all have a SUPER OP day. Love and hugs, Crystle 235/140/162 |

So I just had a sudden realization. I'm sitting here eating leftover pork and turnips. It's soooooo good!! (thanks BOB!!!) Are turnips actually ok to be eating? They are a root, and white like potatoes... I'll be really bummed if they are off limits becaus eI really like them and would liek to buy some more.
My OB Appt was great today. Baby Isaiah was all over the place on the sonogram. He was so active it made me laugh, which kept throwing the whole thing off. Selah loved seeing the baby. I'm going to Savannah tomorrow with my best friend. My mom is watching the kids for us. I'll be gone till Saturday and I'm soooo excited!!! I'm even looking forward to a nice quiet drive down to just chat!! This is goign to be such a great break for me. Thanks Kathy, that was a great clue. I got it right! Now....for those of you like Gator that whizzed right through this try the 2nd one. Quote:
I have only glanced at this one, but a couple jumped right out at me.....the others look to be very menacing....... Was absolutely gorgeous this morning so Buddy and I got in our 3, yes, count them ladies.....3 miles. I thought it would be cold so I put on my long johns......and boy was I sweating by the time we got home. We saw 4 deer and a bald eagle for our efforts. It felt so good to be out of the house. Yesterday we ventured out but only got in 1 mile as the wind was blowing and my face was freezing. My ears stay pretty warm due to my head set.....avid music listener when I am walking......all those great Time Life CD's I bought the boys for Christmas are fantastic to listen to when you are exercising because they are all up beat. Eating has been good for the past 3 days, our trip is getting closer and I don't think I am going to make my 10 pound goal.......though I do think that I am losing a bit......I haven't been weighing, but will weigh in on the first. B-- Venison hot link, 1/2 grapefruit, Lite 85 yogurt snack-- apple L-- Some kind of sandwich on a ww wrap, veggies and ff dip snack-- fruit on some kind.....out of oranges D-- Leftover Rib steak, caulifower dish with cream of mushroom soup and shredded cheese and sf pudding for dessert. Kathy-- Glad you enjoyed the IQ test.....sound like you did great!! Princess-- Hopefully the move for you MIL will be smooth sailing. Solly-- I am sure that you could get more than a few of these right......hope your stress problem works itsself out. Sometimes it isn't one person, or reason.....just a lot of little issues that result in a big one.....((((HUGS)))) Toni-- I am jealous.....a new puppy!! I have just about decided not to get another dog.....it is just too hard on me when I lose them. Buddy is enjoying all the attention that he is getting now that he is an "only dog", lol. County-- That is funny......I would probably just KEEP buying scales until I got one that said what I want to weigh!! LOL!!! Have a great day, and I will see you all later....... |
Just checking in
I am leaving early today as I need to pick up my MIL from the airport but I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.
Talitha: Thanks for the fairy dust! Country: Thanks for the well wishes and I have been meaning to tell you that I love your picture that you posted in your signature line... Very nice and you look very happy! Solly: Thanks for the well wishes and you are right... MIL can be stressful and having relatives stay for an extended period can be rough Teensybean: 3 miles! that is just too great... my dogs are as out of shape as I am and I don't think any of us could make it three miles at this point but spring is on the way, if you don't count the snow we are supposed to get on Saturday LOL... Buddy sounds like a real champ! I am sure that all will go well and I maybe just paranoid but after her visit just before Thanksgiving and seeing her pull a couple of things... well I guess I am just nervous. Anyway, I will talk to everyone in the morning and have a wonderful evening! Princess |
I am baaaaccckkkk!!!!! I did a quick lesson on symmetry with the younger grades. They drew half of a symmetrical object on the paper with a black crayon, then I ironed it, and they painted it. They liked it, it was fun, and kept they occupied with cheap supplies. :)
After school, I went to Caribou coffee with my neighbor and her daughter. I got plain coffee and not some fancy high sugar concoction. :) I was proud of myself! I have been meaning to let you all know I heard from Kengjw! She said that the baby, Chris, is five months old now, and Jess is a wonderful big sister. I am trying to help her resolve password issues, and I hope once they are fixed, she will post herself! Hi! if you are lurking, Keng! I am tired, but I have to go figure out dinner, so I will be back later! |
Sending everyone a
We are having a clean out the fridge night and I have a huge craving for salad so that is probably what I'll have. Unfortunately the cursed gs cookies were delivered today. So I will have 2 lemon pastry ones with tea after dinner than put the rest in the freezer as those are my favorites. Any of you ladies in your middle forties have periods that are getting weird? I swear mine seems like it is dragging out up to two weeks of the month. Not necessarily heavy but there. Princess, You are braver than I to have your MIL stay with you. My FIL stayed with me while my MIL was in the hospital and he was no trouble at all but my husband just wasn't as affectionate with his Daddy in the house. It was a long couple of months! Solly, I'm giving you permission to believe the problem is with the other person. After all "everyone is strange but you and I and sometimes I wonder about you". (Little joke my DH and I share) Country, Laughed at your scale collection! Today my family had lunch with our attorney. He ate like a mouse and then talks about his wife (who is a shadow). Apparently she is not an eater. I really don't think I would like her what about you? Monet and everyone else have a restful evening. By the way the cabbage dish I posted was very good and I could recommend it. The cabbage stayed crunchy but was warmed thru. Very good with the pork roast. KayeC |
I blame you ALL!
Yes, you're all to blame! So after Monday's "homemade bread" discussion, I had my DH fix the KitchenAid mixer (paddle was stuck) and made some bread. No big deal, right? But last night I made more and it sorta cut into my TV watching (American Idol!!) time. Still not a big deal, we have TiVo so I'm okay. But tonight ... I didn't want to make bread again, so I made a pound cake. A freakin' cake!!! I'm taking it to work tomorrow since they're spoiled now and will be expecting something. Still though, I'm behind on TV watching, it smells good in the house and I *know* it isn't MY fault!
|
Ok so dinner didn't turn out as I planned it. Travis came home and I had expected him to work late. I ate the little bit of left over soup, but now I'm houngry again. Can't decide if I want a tomato soandwich or Popcorn, I know the sandwich is safer.... I'll go for that
Katpo- You crack me up. i'm watchign American Idol right now. That last guy, CHris Daugherty, he waws awesome!!!!!!! Now I ahve to chose between AI and Lost.... SOO HARD!!! |
OMG, I wouldn't have thought that Chris would have been so good but he is my favorite so far. I never thought I'd say that. Of course, Ace hasn't gone yet! :o He is soooo purty!
