Happy Wednesday.
Yesterday was "Fat Tuesday" right? Boy is that name fitting. I ate everything in sight at bunco last night. Candy, snacks, dessert, margaritas. I was starving when I got there and I think I was so stressed out from work that I fell off the deep end. I am so sick at my stomach this morning. I don't want to even look at food. Good thing it is Ash Wed and we are fasting today. It was so cute, the girl had a mardi gras table scheme and beads for everyone. Even the "booby" prize was one of those long drink glasses they sell on Bourbon Street. Brought back memories. Plus we didn't get home until 12:30 and I had to get up at 5:30 so I could go to church before work.I'm already dragging. So I can't let one bad night ruin my efforts. Back on track today. I did get in 30 minutes of wts las night. Should get to the gym tonight for a short time. Missy, so glad you went to the parade and had fun. I remember when we were there how wild it gets. One float was throwing spears. Of course the kids loved it, but I feared for my life the way they were throwing those things. Teensy, no the neurotin is not a hormone. Beleive me, I would never take a hormone. Good job on your eating. One day at a time. Country, ok, yesterday was good, lets make today good also. Melf, sorry you have a bad cold. Get some rest and lots of vitamin C. :getwell: Bob, no there is no St Joe anymore. It is a housing complex now.She went to Audubon. Wow that is a lot of money. Better check it out, they may owe you more than that. toni, is that the "You on a Diet" book? I have read good things about that one. He has been on Oprah alot. Tech, thanks for checking in. Have fun with the kids and the snow. Thankfully it is in the 50's here. Monet, I bet some of those pieces you smashed were fine. You are such a perfectionist. Good luck to Tom on his job search. Off to get some tea to settle my stomach. Food is poison:devil: |
SOLLY: We can't throw spears in our parade - that is so dangerous!! If someone isn't paying attention and that hits them right in the eye or something - bad news! I always stick to safe things - beads and stuffed animals!

Hi everyone
Yesterday was a good eating day for me. I needed to get back on track after messing up on the weekend including lots of snacking which I hadn't done for a while. Hope I can keep things under control to-day too. Yesterday I had oatmeal and berries for bf, lentil soup and rye crackers with few thin slices of ham for lunch and chicken breast, coleslaw and a salad for dinner. This morning I had brown rice cereal with berries for bf, plan on making some falafels for lunch with cole slaw and maybe some pita bread and tilapia and veggies of some kind for dinner. I went for my mall walk yesterday and this morning - about 40 minutes each time. May go and play badminton this evening. Haven't played since last week for a variety of reasons. The weather has warmed up a bit - it's about 22F to-day and should get a bit warmer later. Sun is still shining and it feels almost like spring is coming compared to the temps we had last week.;) Fruit - Glad you got out to enjoy the parade. I've still got a few strings of beads around from when I was in N.O. a few years ago. My dil teases me about what she thinks I had to do to get them. Ha Ha. She doesn't want to believe that someone just gave them to me. Solly - I've never heard of Fat Tuesday. We always used to call the day before Ash Wednesday pancake day when I was growing up in England. And that's what we always had on that day. BOB - Hope you were able to get back to sleep again after the movie. Monet - Sounds like you are having some fun with your new "toy". Tech - Have fun with the kids this week. Whether it is for social reasons or any other reasons, just stay around. I always enjoy your posts. Let's know when you need help to get back on that wagon. You are not alone, we all fall off from time to time. The important thing is that we climb back on before too much damage is done. Toni - What is the name of the book you are reading? Melf - Hope you are feeling better to-day. Country - WTG for staying op. Don't worry about those scales. You are probably better off not being able to jump on them every day. :) Teensy - Exercise is always better when you have company - I know it makes a difference if I have a partner when I am walking. Well ladies I think the washing machine has stopped so better go and throw a few things in the dryer. Will check in again later. Have a good day everyone. |
Good Morning Ladies--
One more day on plan. I have gone to Curves three days so far this week and stayed on plan!! You girls are so good for me!! Menu for yesterday-- B--Protein shake with Blueberries snack-- string cheese L--5oz tuna salad, 1 oz pork rinds snack-- 3 sf fudgies D-- 1 chicken breast, Caesar salad and a sf jello I know that I need more veggies, but I was full all day and other than the sf candy thought I did okay. (at least it wasn't half a bag of homemade almond roca!!) We are headed to town, so I should be able to stay on plan again. I am gaining determination from you gals......so I thank you all for that!! Country-- I think my downfall started on the day I threw my DH his surprise birthday party. I was down to 158 which was below the 170 mark that I had set for my first goal........final goal was 150 which I never did reach. I allowed myself to eat a piece of his birthday cake and it has spiraled from there. I never was one that liked sweets, my big problem was chips and dips. I could sit and eat them by the bag fulls. When I started with that one piece of cake........I can't stop. It would be fine if I could eat just one cookie, or sweet.....but I want 8 or 9 cookies, or 4 or 5 pieces of fudge or almond rocka...totally out of control. Then I see what I have done and I just get more depressed and eat more!! Monet-- Fat bottom?? I was not sitting in your kiln!!!! BOB-- Haven't had any little deers eating in our yard this winter.....I still see them around, but not at our place. Drivers were getting pretty wreckless so maybe they are staying farther in the trees. We will have little ones in a couple of months!! Toni-- My friend from Curves was very impressed with Dr OZ. I hope that you will get your inspiration too!! Tech-- Nice to see you. Pop in when you can!! Solly-- Sounds like you have everything under control. Just hop right back up there and start over. I have gotten to where I am sick and tired of beating myself up every time I fall short of my own expections. Thank you so much for the info on the Neurotin, I will ask my Dr about tomorrow. Rosalie-- I sure wish I had a mall or somewhere close to walk in the winter time. I really do miss walking. My Buddy dog misses it too. We are 25 miles from town, so it isn't really an option for me to drive in everyday . When I was down in Colorado the week before Christmas I went to the Senior Citizen Club with Vicky. For 25 dollars a month she can go in and use their facilities to exercise. They have an oval track above their basketball court. How cool is that?? They also have all the newest equipment, treadmills, elipticals, bowflexes.....it was great!! See you all later!! |
Good afternoon
It is beautiful outside! I'm hoping to get out and walk today. It seems like every day I let something come up. I am such a goober. I thought the scales were broken but the little switch in the back was set to kilograms. I should have left them broken...they were not nice to me this morning. :)
I only have a minute because we are heading out for the day. I hope each of you has a FANTASTIC day. ((EVERYBODY)) Love and hugs, Crystle |
Hi all. Boy today was so beautiful and warm. I had to go to Wal Mart so I picked up some lettuce seed to plant. Think I'll plant it in a big pot outside tomorrow. I finished the book last night. It has some good recipes in it. And lots of tips. It sure makes you aware of what you're putting in your mouth. I really recommend it.
CountryMom- LOL I've done that before on my scales. I haven't touched them for weeks cause I'm so scared of what they'll say. But this Monday I'm going to finally bite the bullet. Teensybean- I really like Dr. OZ too. He's so plain speaking its easy to understand him. Rosalie- The name of the book is You on a Diet. I got mine at Amazon. Missy- Hi gal..... Solly- Yep thats the book. If you get a chance get it.. Bob- I hope you got some sleep. Monet- Sounds like you're busy busy... Tech- Howdy, don't stop coming to the board. I've got the CD that Oprah had two shows from its called The Secret. I'll watch it this week end and let you know how that is. Better run now. |
EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
I got more sleep...trust me...right on up till about 1:30 p.m.!!!! We just had dinner...Kate had fish, and I had left over SWISS STEAK!!! YUM YUM YUM!!! I call HR today and as long as I come back to work within the 90 days, I can be re-instated!!! This is the start of my fourth week so I'm ok on time...I'm going to reapply online and then call a few of the Managers...i don't...hear me DON'T want to go back to that department!!! So, I'm right on it...tomorrow...or later tonight...since it's online...I can do it anytime! I'm watching one of my facority shows FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS...I don't think we're that bad in KY about high school football, but close too it! I'll be back for replies... BOB |
HI EVERYONE.
I AM SORRY I HAVEN'T CHECKED IN. I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH A ROUGH PATCH. HAVE BEEN VERY ACHY AND SORE. DID NOT FINISH AFGHAN, HANDS KEPT GOING NUMB. THE ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE THING I'VE DONE IS GO TO THE NH AND TO THE ENTERTAINMENT PLACES. MY DIL HAS THE WEEK OFF OS HAE NOT HAD TO COOK. ALTHOUGH I DON'T "HAVE" TO. THEY ALWAYS TELL ME IF I WASN'T HERE THEY'D HAVE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. REALLY DON'T FEEL LIKE POSTING SO WILL JUST SEND HUGZ TO ALL. MAY GOOD THINGS HAPPEN |
Hi Sef - Sorry to hear you have been so achy and sore. Hope things improve for you soon. I had been wondering about you as I hadn't seen you post for a couple of days. Take care and pamper yourself.
BOB - That's good news that you can get your job back. Hope you can get in to a department that you will be happy in. With all the time that you spend working it helps if you can enjoy what you do and have pleasant people to work with. I'm off to bed. |
Hi
I just have a minute so this has to be quick. It was nice here yesterday so we decided to skip the gym and take a 3 mile walk. It wasn't that warm and my ears and nose were very cold. But it was a nice diversion. I haven't been out, but if it is nice, DD & I may walk tonight. Eating is under control today and yesterday. We have a surprise party for my niece tomorrow night, so that may be tricky. But I know I have to weigh at WW on Saturday, so maybe I can be good. Missy, I agree about the spears. Look at what happened to you. Rosalie, Fat Tuesday is a term that has been around a long time. Not for sure, but think it originated in NO. Missy can or Melf can probably tell us more about it. Teensy, I am the same way, I don't think I have ever been "full" IF it is there I will eat it until it's gone. I envy people who eat small portions and say they are "full". I agree that coming here daily really helps. Country, don't let that scale mess you up. You have been doing so good. Toni, let us know about the show. I bet it is interesting. I think I will get that book. Bob, hope you can find something out on your job. A new department is definately the answer. Sef, hope you feel better and get your spirits up. Are your hands number from neuropathies? Better run. Have a great day and evening. |
Hi, just wanted to drop in & say hello. Sorry I have not been posting much this week. Feeling better from my cold but other things going on. SEF, sorry you're feeling low. My right thumb has been really painful this week too. Not sure what's going on. Hope you fell better very soon.

Hello to all my buster buddies! I just came up from my 'studio', where I have been most of the day. I cleaned some, glazed some, loaded up the kiln, and fired it, and trimmed a few pots and cleaned a few up to be ready to bisque fire. This morning I ran down to the supply store because yesterday, they forgot to give me my kiln posts, and you can't stack the kiln without them! :) They were very nice and actually gave me three free ones too. I was a naughty girl though..I bought two more glazes to try. I figured out the way to go is to buy them dry, as they are MUCH cheaper that way. The kiln turned off (it has an automatic shut off when it reaches the right temperature...) about 30 minutes ago. I will have to let it cool over night and hopefully will be able to open it in the morning. I have a meeting at 10, so I want to be able to open it before I leave!! I have about 8 smallish bowls in the load that I am hoping are nice enough for a wedding shower present for Saturday. I also have a vase in there that a friend may be interested in buying...which would help with my expenses. If this load does well, I am going to be all inspired to try the utensil crock for Solly, which has blown up on my four time! Then, I can move on to BOB's mugs...
Eating today has been pretty decent. I had a small piece of homemade ww pizza for breakfast on the run, two pieces and a nectarine for lunch, and a snack of a few ww pretzels. Dinner will be hamburger stroganoff, with ww noodles. I will try to skip the noodles, as now that I am writing this all down, I realize I have had too many starches! :o SEF: Feel better! I think it must be the changing weather. I am achy too. BOB: You mean, you might be able to get your job back? That would be awesome! I hope you and Kate are getting weller and weller! ;) SOLLY: I went for a walk yesterday and today with no jacket...its beautiful out here. I have been enjoying the walks. MELF: I hope you feel better! Ok, that is all I have time for...to TONI, ROSALIE, COUNTRY, TEENSY and anyone else I may have missed, :grouphug: I will try and get on later and do more replies, but I love you all! |
Hello all; Boy the board is slow today. I go grocery shopping tomorrow. Thank goodness. Hope I find some good vegetables. I'm so hungry for some. Its boring here today but sunny and wonderful outside. I should have planted my lettuce today. Well going to cook dinner.

Hi all.
Wish I could say it's the weather but it's a beautiful day! It's just my ornreyness (that's not spelled right) coming out! I don't feel so tired today and that helps. Have more energy to be positive. I did go to the NH today as usual. I will really push myself to be there. I wish the staff was as good. There are people who lov e to come to the group but can't get there under their own power. I din't know where staff was, but they weren't doing their job! Usually have 8-12-15. Today I had two! One lady came in half hour late and said she was waiting for her meds. Oh well, the ones that came had a nice time. My hands have carpal tunnel, arthritis and neuropathy. My feet have arthritis and neuropathy. They tingle all the time. The doctor says when I can't stand it anymore he will give me meds. At the time I was diagnosed there were two drugs they used, one an antidepressant and another antiseizure, both seem to help neuropathy. Now there is something Neu...tin, don't remember name. I take so many meds I don't want to take more unless I really need it. Also made supper tonight, haven't sone that in about a week. So that's an improvement. Will try to get swinging again and answer posts. You all mean a lot to me. May good things happen. Shirley |
