Hello Ladies--

Whew! I made it. Posted my foods first and now I am checking in here. Did my stint at Curves this morning and am hoping to get a chance to walk. Yesterdays walk didn't happen as it rained all day long. I am aiming for a 2 mile hike tomorrow AM instead of Curves, if the weather permits, that is.

There was a pup wandering around my Mom's this morning. I don't know if it is lost or if someone dumped it. It was staying in one area as the dogs that lived in the area where aggressive and chased it when it tried to go any where. Mom was going to keep an eye on it for me, as I couldn't get it to come to me or get in the car. If it is still there at noon I am going back with Ted to see if we can get it in the car and then start knocking on doors to see where it belongs. I hate the thought of it being dumped, so I hope that it just wandered.

Melf-- It is nice to be back. I have thought of all of you very often.....knowing that I should be here posting. Sometimes life just gets in the way!!

Toni-- Hello, nice to see you are still here.

Monet-- Thanks again for contacting me. I need to get very seriously committed again. I hate the way I feel now.

BOB-- Hello, sorry to hear you and Kate are not feeling well. Get better soon!!

Rosalie 02-12-2007 03:58 PM

Hi everyone

I didn't get out for my walk this morning as I was feeling tired after a restless night. But did go and play a few games of badminton. The scale was good to me this morning. I was down five pounds from the last time I reported it. It's been going up and down the last little while but this is the lowest it has been. :carrot:. I made a new recipe for pancakes this morning - the one I got from a gi site yesterday. It had a 1/4 cup white beans soaked overnight and oatmeal, flax, baking powder and water. It all went in the blender. The original recipe was for waffles but I made it into pancakes and topped them with some home made cranberry sauce. Yummy. For lunch I had lentil soup and ham on a ww bun. Not sure what dinner will be. Something easy, I've had enough cooking for one day.

Teensy - It's good to see you back. Sounds like you've had a lot going on in your life recently. Hope things have settled down now.

BOB - Hope you and Kate are feeling better.

Melf - Sorry the scales weren't kind to you this morning. But I am sure if you keep at it things will turn around and you will start to lose again. You did it before and you can do it again. I had a real shock this morning when I looked at the scale. Of course I don't know if it will stay there as it always fluctuates day by day but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I think it must be all the lentils I have been eating lately. I usually have them for lunch and find them very filling and have been able to keep away from snacking. Also I am using Fit-day again and I find that helps me to keep things in check.

Monet - Hope things turn around for you soon. I know it must be very frustrating for you when you work so hard stay op and keep your bs under control..

. Toni, Tech, Thin, Countrymom, Heartmom, Solly, Sef, Fruitloup.:grouphug:. Hope I haven't missed anyone. If I have it is not intentional.

Howdy!

Welcome back Colleen. I'm so glad things turned out okay with the ship, how scary was that? :)

I forgot to weigh this morning but I was at 179 yesterday morning so I guess that is close enough. It is rainy and yucky today so no walking outside. I might try to do a walk vidoe if I can get motivated. Yesterday at the dollar store they had a 75 ounce container for getting in your daily water so I got one. It has been forever and a day since I have been a faithful water drinker and it shows. It doesn't seem to be getting any lower no matter how much I drink..LOL

Monet...hang in there, those 4 pounds are probably just water and will be gone before you know it.

Melf...hanging in there with you. ((hugzz))

Thin...I have been going through the same thing. Hang in there. Each moment is a chance to start fresh.

Rosalie...good job on getting in the extra lap the other day.

Sef...Bob...Solly...Heart...Toni...Missy...Kris... everybody..(((Hugzzzz)))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Howdy all. Boy we're getting the rain here today. And tomorrow is calling for snow. Hope I can get to the beauty shop for my hair cut and permanet appointment. I kind of look like Harpo Marx. Eating has been great today for me. I'm trying so hard to just take one day at a time. Hopefully this week I can get started back on the treadmill. I didn't weigh today. I'll try to get over my fear of the scale tomorrow and get it over with.

Rosalie- Congrads on the loss!!! You're such a good example. Love your meals.

CountryMom- You're right about the water. Just got me a big jug out and I'm going to try hard to get enough in.

Teensybean- Good luck on the walk. I'm so wanting to get back to some exercise. Wish there was a Curves around here.

Monet- Hope you lose that water weight soon.

Bob- Are you and Kate feeling better today. How awful both of you being sick.

Melf- good luck with the eating today. Hang in there....

Hi Sef and Thin!

Think I'll run. I got a new flat screen monitor and I'm loving. It was my Valentine's gift my DH.

sef 02-12-2007 07:12 PM

Hi all,

I am pooped. Did the nursing home bit this morning, then to Wally's World, then straightened up kitchen stuff. I did eat my lunch outside it was so nice out. Made myself a pan of western scrambled eggs. I'll have breakfast for a couple of days. Made tuna casserole for supper. Don't know where the day went, just know i'm still here.

MONET: I didn't confiscate the room when Elaine went to college and Kevin went in the Army. They kept coming home you see. But I thought marriage and moving to Germany was sufficient evidence that Kevin had moved out. When Elaine settled in MD, she was close enough she could come home, I waited until she moved to HI and said okay room change!!!

I think it is easy to be sick and tired of being sick and tired. Just can't be helped, I guess.

We don't eat out that often so beets are only a once in a blue moon thing!

ROSALIE: I wasn't crticizing or judging you. Please forgive me if I hurt your feelings. I honestly couldn't remember for sure and you are usually so precise. I don't think a little is going to throw you into a big weght gain.

Know what it's like trying to surf the net. I had a lot of songs - lyrics anf music - sites and lost it when computer went down. Now I'm starting all over looking for songs to learn and sing for Joyful Noise. If anyone knows of a site please send it along to me. You'll be helping the old folks at home.

TEENSY: I recently returned after being AWOL for a time. Melf convinced me to come back. Isn't nice how caring everyone can be?

Quite an adventure you had getting home from CO. Whenever I fly, the minute I enter the airport door I figure just go with the flow.

I used to live on the Jersey shore but in the boondocks about 7 miles from the ocean. Every fall when the summer people would head back to the city there were cats and dogs (it was a nice experience for the kiddies to have a pet) just left on the highway that ran right by our house and business. It was a busy four lane road. Could never figure out how anyone could be so cruel. At least take them to a shelter where they have a little more chance at life. If they are put to sleep, they at least weren't a carcass squished on the road!

A new little girl! After I had to put Freckles down after 15 wonderful years, and then Bear, the cat, after 17. I didn't think I'd get another pet. But just missed not having a dog. I now have, Bitsy, a black Pomeranian. She is such a joy. Have had her almost a year. The only thing I can say is I will be glad she she is out of the puppy stage. Every step I take she is right beside me, a constant companion.

THIN: Heck, when I went to school there was no nurse. First sign of being sick the teacher called your parents (we did have telephones, I'm not totally ancient!) and sent you home. Woe be it if they couldn't be reached, you had to sit in the cloakroom or on the back steps and wait.

TONI: Glad you're here, glad you're here!

MELF: Yesterday and today were just beautiful. Yesterday after church went with a goup for lunch. Ah me!!!! So bad,,,,,,,,dare I say it? A fried shrimp Po Boy!!! It was really good, not greasy at all.

BOB: Cute. Even feeling sick you have your sense of humor. You're so good, my jokes are usually naughty! Hope you and Kate are feeling better.

COUNTRY: Have to get me a scale. Probably need one like they have at the loading dock!!!

Okay time for Jeopardy. See you later

Rosalie 02-13-2007 12:12 AM

Sef - You certainly didn't hurt my feelings. I'm sorry if my post came through that way. Here's a site I found that has lyrics and music for some old songs. Let me know if this is what you are looking for and if I come across any more I will post them.
http://www.geocities.com/dferg5493/songfiles.htm

Here's another one that has lyrics and chords for lots of songs. http://www.theguitarguy.com/songs.htm

Solly 02-13-2007 07:55 AM

I'm Here.

Yesterday was the day from H*ll. Anything that could go wrong, did. I didn't know to throw something or cry. The mishaps contiued at home. This morning, things are much better. I am swamped again. Just when I thought things were getting back to normal. My computer is still not right. Anyway, just to let you know where I am if I am not around much t his week.

No time for replies, but did want to welcome Teensy back. It's so good to see you.

To everyone else, Got to run, computers are back up so I had better get busy. Be back when I can.

sef 02-13-2007 10:05 AM

Good morning,

News if full of the tornados that hit LA about 3 a.m. We just keep getting hit in the chops by something! Can only pray for the poor people who lost their homes again.

ROSALIE: Everything is fine. I always worry about the other persons feelings, wouldn't want them to dislike me or something. Guess I'm insecure.

Thank you for the Song Pages, that is one of the sites I lost. I have used several songs from that site. If it is a song I like but don't know I get sit here and sing along with it and learn. Plus I can print out the sheet music for the pianist. So if you come across any more like that it would be a big help. A lot of my songs I got by Googling the song title followed by "lyrics and music". Of course you get 10,000 sites, that range from lyrics to those selling CDs, etc. I'm not very computer literate. The Guitar Guy is good for lyrics and ideas.

SOLLY: Hope today is better.

No real news. Want to work on March program for joyful Noise. Also want to weed out my junk bookcase. There are some goodies there, but a lot of stuff I wonder why I saved it.

See you later

CountryMom4Him 02-13-2007 11:32 AM

Good morning

Howdy ya'll. How is everyone this morning? It is nippy here this morning. We had rain most of yesterday but today is bright and sunny. Hopefully it will dry out soon. Robert was finally able to start tilling after all the winter rain and now it is wet again.

Toni...good deal on getting your water jug out. I didn't get the whole 75 ounces down yesterday but I tried. I suffered a terrible headache last night. I think it was from caffiene withdrawls. I go through that every time I give up my tea and drink water....err :) Gonna try again today.

Sef...((hugzz))

Solly...sorry to hear about your bad day. Praying today is a much better day.

I hope everyone is having a GREAT day so far and if it isn't all that I pray it gets TONS better. ((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Just a fly by. I have to go to the town office and get a new tax bill. I, literally, set my bills on fire the other night. Derek likes to keep them on the back of the stove (we don't have a desk) and I was boiling some water and POOF, up with the bills! The only thing that was totally burned was the tax bill...so I get to go give the tax collector a laugh and bring in my burned-beyond-recognition bill and say, "May I please have another?"

In sadder news, my cat, Kitty, was up howling last night like he was in labor. I called the vet at 7:30 and took him right in. He had a urinary infection and it has totally blocked off his ability to pee. Poor Kitty. They had to catheterize him and give him some anesthetic, but they said he'll be home in a couple days and will be just fine. We just have to get him on a special diet, is all. Thank Goodness for the new PetCo we just got in town!!

Also, we're set up for a good ole fashioned Nor Easter!! :carrot: Not Lake Effect this time that stops three miles from my house. They're expecting 12-18 inches!! :woohoo: I already called work and said, "If they cancel school, I won't be in!!"

Okay...off to the tax lady. Will be back later on!!

Here is a picture of Kitty on Kyle's birthday amongst all the toys. Say a little prayer for him, please! He's one of my babies!

Ellen 02-13-2007 12:11 PM

I promised to do a real post today, so here I am. It is still morning as I start this, but will probably be afternoon by the time I finish!

Dinner last night went well. I made a Guinness pie...basically a Shepherd's pie made with a couple large cans of Guinness stout. They loved it. The turn out was small though, so I brought a good bit of it home. The family will eat it. I put some in the freezer, which will give me a few meals for nights I need something easy.

Tom was meeting someone for lunch today. They are going to discuss the job market as this man is in the same area of programming as Tom is. I hope it is an encouragement to him.

It is gray and overcast here today. Yesterday was SO pretty! Unfortunately, I spent it in the kitchen cooking. We did go for a walk this morning because it is supposed to start raining this afternoon. We took the baby with. He really loves going for a walk. I just put him down for a nap...his parental units are both sleeping still. Laura was delighted when we said we would take him on our walk...she went right back to bed!

COUNTRY: I have been struggling to get water in too lately. One thing I do that helps is keep bottled water in my car. I buy a case at Costco...then whenever I am driving someplace (which is a LOT!) I drink a bottle. You can refill the bottles if you don't want to spend the $$ on them. I need to get in more at home now too. Can you wean yourself off the tea by cutting it half and half with water for a week? It might help the headaches.

SEF: Tornadoes scare the crap out of me! We had one here back six or so years ago and it did tons of damage...killed a few people. We lost 14 trees on our smallish lot! It was miraculous that none of them fell on the house. Most of our neighbors were not as lucky. I went and looked at that Guitarman site...wow! I bookmarked it. I have a guitar, and used to play a lot. That site has inspired me to pull out the guitar and play again!

SOLLY:  I hope your day goes well. I hate days where nothing seems to be going right! And computer trouble...man that puts me in the WORST mood! You are missed if you are not here, but we understand!

ROSALIE: Thanks for posting those pages for SEF! I sure enjoyed looking at them. So, what interesting thing are you cooking today? I don't feel like cooking today after yesterday's marathon! It took me over an hour to brown 16 pounds of hamburger!

TONI: Oh! A flat screen monitor! How nice! My son bought one and tells a hilarious story about his cat trying to get on top of it like she did his old one. :) I hope you were able to get to your hair appointment. Did you get snow?

TEENSY: Did you get in that 2 mile hike? I was not walking every day for a few weeks..I will blame it on my thyroid....and now that Tom is out of work, he is pressing me to walk everyday, which is good. I WAS up to two to three miles a day...and I can just barely stand a mile and a half now but prefer to only do a mile. Why do you lose it so fast, but it takes so long to build back up again? sigh

BOB: How are you and Kate doing? I am worried about you!

GATOR: If you are lurking, I hope you have a happy birthday Thursday!

Ellen 02-13-2007 12:17 PM

TECH: We were posting at the same time. That is hilarious about the bills... May I suggest you get one of those folder things that hang on the wall? It would be a LOT safer! haha! I will be praying for Kitty. I surely understand...we have five cats...used to have six.. Kitty is a handsome kitty!

Teensybean 02-13-2007 12:38 PM

Good Morning.

Buddy and I got up and walked first thing this morning. We went 2 miles, and I can sure tell that it has been a long time since I walked. But I did get a bit of jogging in, which is something that I am determined to accomplish. Actually, I got in about 2.5. After I brought Buddy back, I took Pebbles out so she wouldn't feel left out. She did a really good job of staying to the side of the road and minding me. Last time I tried to take her for a walk was right after we got her. She must have roamed around lost for a very long time, because there was NO WAY she was going to walk with me on that road. I literally had to pick her up and carry her off the road. She layed down and refused to budge. (They are both laying here at my feet now.) Last fall we were walking around Bear Lake and doing 4 laps. (Each one was a mile.) I really want to do our big race this year. Bloomsday is 7.5 miles and they have a hill called doomsday. So I am really going to push myself, to get ready for this.......May is just around the corner. The longest fun run I have done is 5 miles, so I need to do some serious training.

I replaced the battery in my scales, but I am giving myself one week to try and get rid of some of the water. I have done really well drinking the last couple of days. I will weigh in with all of you on Monday.

Rosalie-- Five pounds is great! Keep up the good work. I have a recipe for pancakes made out of pork rinds. I know that it might not sound good to some people, but it really is super!! Especially with some sf syrup!!

Country-- Nice to see your smiling face. Some days I have a rough time with my water intake, and then other days it goes down like water!! LOL.

Toni-- I Love Curves! And not just for the exercise either. I have made some very good friends there and we continually support each other. It it a fantastic organization.

Sef-- It is very nice to have people who care and miss you when you are not around. I feel selfish now for not checking in once and awhile. I thought of all of you quite a bit, but was not to happy with myself and felt that I was a let down. I truly love my animals. We have two cats out in the shop that were both strays that turned up. I tamed each one so that I could get them to the vet for shot and to be spayed. Since both the boys are gone now, my animals are my constant companions.

Solly-- I am so glad that you are still here. Looks like you are doing great, looking at your tracker. You certainly do deserve it. Hope your week improves.

Tech-- Sorry to hear about your poor kitty. Ouch!! Button down the hatches and hope for the best!!

Will see you all later.

Teensybean 02-13-2007 12:44 PM

Monet-- We were posting at the same time. I did get in my walk, and just as you said....we lose it very quickly. I push myself to never do less than 2 miles. As I was up to 4 last fall, I feel that if I did any less than 2, I really wouldn't be doing myself much good. I got in a couple of stretches of jogs too. That is something I am really going to work on.

Boy, I have been gone a long time......Laura had just gotten married when I was here last.......and now you are a Grandma???? CONGRATULATIONS. That is my constant wish....but I am beginning to think that it is never going to happen. Again, congrats!!
