saundra, enjoy your time at the brunch. i don't own a pink bra either, but i do have a black one.

kathy, i hope you don't fast. your body needs nourishment so your foot can keep healing. okay, i'm off my soapbox. wish you could bring me some peas, too.

vickie, you go, girl! i hope you can find several more bras. did you check their website? (i bet you did.)

Katpo 06-11-2006 12:00 PM

I ended up eating tuna salad and crackers for breakfast, Sandra, so you can stop worrying about me now. ;)

I'm an ebay fanatic from way back. I've been a member since 1999 and have a little over 800 feedback. It's probably equally from buying and selling both. Seems like I always have a listing or two going, or am bidding on something. Most of my clothes come from there, believe it or not. For clothes, I buy 99% new with tags; if I'm buying used, I'd rather get it from the local thrift store so I can look at it really good first. In the spring, I buy jeans from the thrift store and resell them. Anyway, it's just something fun to do and there's nothing on earth you can't find there. I've only had one negative out of 800+ feedback and this dufus had misunderstood what I was selling, which was his problem and not mine. He still gave me a negative but that's been several years ago.

I'm back from the store and have packed up my lunches for the week. I have had a lot of 2 oz. plastic restaurant containers and lids for the last year or so because my coworker whose wife had WLS bought a case of 5,000 at Sam's Club. They couldn't use them all so gave me probably 1,000. That's what I take dressing, sour cream, cheese, etc. to restaurants and to work. Anyway I'm almost out now so I'll need to make a trip to Sam's and buy some. For my lunch this week, I cut up carrots and put them in snack baggies, put 8 club crackers in snack baggies, dill dip in the container and tuna salad in another container. Then the two baggies and two containers were packaged up in disposable Gladware dishes and stacked in the fridge. Now I'm set! I can eat my breakfast at home and so I shouldn't need anything else for during the day since I have cheese and lunchmeat at work, with which I will make the pickle roll-up thingy. And now to figure out the points for it all. I'm wanting to eat that Kashi cereal this week, and have had a craving for tuna salad (which I can't eat without crackers) so it looks like a points week for me.

I'm killing time until noon, at which time I will leave and head north for the shower. I purposely didn't get the gift yet because I'll have two hours and will do it then. I'm probably going to Target and getting a gift card and some diapers or an outfit. While there I might get some toys for the new boys but since I don't know sizes, I can't get clothes. On second thought, I think I'll wait until after church today and call my brother to get sizes.

Okay, now Vickie, if you think YOU are a rambler ... I feel like I'm writing out every thought in my head! I hope your TOM simmers down a bit and you feel better.

Now I really should get some things done before leaving. See you all later.

Vickie 06-11-2006 12:28 PM

Kathy, I LOVE when everyone but me writes alot. You all are a lot more interesting! I'd love those containers. I'm kinda cheap, though, so I bought my tupperware containers and use those. I do go through alot of ziploc bags and containers. I just love those things. Have fun shopping.

I'm going to be making a new muffin recipe today. It could be dangerous but it only makes 6 muffins. It calls for oat bran (which I couldn't find yesterday) so I'm using all cornmeal which is the other grain in the recipe. They are called Lemon Blueberry Muffins. They just sounded SO good to me. So now I'm making those and my tamale pie and a Froufie roast for dinner. In between I'm doing laundry. I'll be a busy girl today. I'm hopeful that all this activity will help me ignore the cramps.

ontarget 06-11-2006 12:52 PM

kathy, i'm glad you're eating. have fun today.

vickie, let us know how the recipe comes out.

i'm tired and am going back to bed again for a few more minutes.

Katpo 06-11-2006 01:02 PM

Ooh, Vickie, these things were like $8 for 5,000 containers and lids (well, mine were free) and it's so nice to throw them away instead of hauling them back home. I have found icky Midgets in my purse before and it was no fun!

Okay, now I'm really leaving.

Vickie 06-11-2006 01:14 PM

That's CHEAP! Maybe I should check out Sam's. I'll be going there in a week or so. I'm trying to get everything done before Jim's surgery. I find the icky midgets in my purse ALL the time! It's a joke now. Jim has taken to carrying them himself or we throw them in the bag with our leftovers. Hmmmm.....

Vickie 06-11-2006 03:50 PM

Okey Dokey...my laundry is done and I've made my tamale pie. I'm thinking I'll have a small piece soon since I didn't have any lunch (unless you count the lemon blueberry muffin)! BTW, the lemon blueberry muffins were DELIGHTFUL! Not too much lemon but it tasted great with the blueberry. I posted the recipe on our board. I had to use all cornmeal (it called for 1/2 cup oat bran and 1/2 cup cornmeal) but they came out great anyway. I don't think I'll even bother looking for the oat bran. I was afraid they'd be dry but they weren't. I didn't verify the points, especially since I got 7 muffins instead of the 6 on the recipe. For 2 points and all Core, I HIGHLY recommend them.

It's now time for me to go rub the seasons on the Froufie roast. This time we got eye of the round instead of sirloin. The roast looks beautiful, so we'll see how it goes!

I'll be back later.

Vickie 06-11-2006 03:52 PM

Lonely....I'm Mrs. Lonely!!! I sure hate it when you all have lives.

Vickie 06-11-2006 04:00 PM

Hey Niki, where are you? We haven't heard from you in a while.

You too, Patti. I hope all is well.

p.a. 06-11-2006 04:51 PM

Sandra , hey you look great in that picture..Im glad I could see it...I felt bad I couldnt see Angelas hair pictures...not sure what was going on there.
Melissa I agree with everyone , I would go ahead and paint or stain as well. Ask at your local paint store..they are a wealth of info....
K Kathy when you said you had midgets in your purse......I thought you meant bugs...haha.
My dds will be home at the end of the month,,,when the youngest one is here Im going to try to post a pic of my pond for you guys. I can do it on other sites but this one I cant for some reason.
Better go check on supper here........ttyl

Katpo 06-11-2006 05:11 PM

I'm home. The shower was great and she got lots of very cool and useful stuff. The house where it was would make you cry -- it was Trading Spaces to the max. My favorite rooms had pink walls, and black and white furniture and accessories. The dining room was Audrey Hepburn and "Breakfast at Tiffanys" decorated. SO cool ... I just looked it up on the internet and it's 4,200 sq. ft. and around $600,000. It's in a pretty swank part of town so those property values are probably accurate for most areas. I was just swooning the entire time. It definitely made me want to come home and either clean thoroughly or throw everything away and start over.

Judd and his friend will be going to the bar tonight to watch the game but I think I'll stay home. I have heartburn pretty bad right now; just took some Mylanta and hope it works. All I had was cake at the shower but I had a fish sandwich from McDonald's before that and the breading always makes me a little sick.

I think I'll go rest for a while.

ontarget 06-11-2006 05:16 PM

vickie, are you not so lonely now? i've been on the phone gossiping. sure was fun. your foods sound delicious. i enjoy cooking on sunday afternoons, too. i made a huge lunch today--bbq pork loins, potatoes, chili beans, green onions, and cornbread muffins. i ate too much.

patti, thank you for the compliment. that's good news about your dd's coming home. i know you're looking forward to that. i'll be watching for your photo.

Vickie 06-11-2006 06:56 PM

Hey Chicks! I'm cooking dinner and just popped in. Potatoes are in their water and Froufie roast is in the oven.

Where is that Froufie?

Kathy, I know what you mean. I was at a house a couple of weeks ago and felt the same way. What am I doing wrong. I made myself feel alot better by thinking that they must be living over their means. At least all my stuff is pretty much paid for (except for the house and the car).

Sandra, how do you make your BBQ pork loin? Can you give me a recipe? Jim and I would love that but I always over cook pork.

Gotta go!

ontarget 06-11-2006 08:02 PM

kathy, somehow i didn't see your post about the shower. that home sounds fabulous. was it one of your coworkers? i have a dear friend who has a beautifully landscaped yard. it always makes me want to come home and get busy when we go visit.

vickie, my bbq wasn't core. it was out of a bottle. a friend sent me it from texas. i imagine any bbq sauce would work as well even homemade. i marinated the meat in the sauce. i'd suggest 4 hours or overnight. i only had 2 hours this time, though, and it worked all right but not quite as well. i took that broiler pan that comes with the oven and covered the pan with aluminum foil. next i took a wire rack (i can't remember if it has another name, but it was just a wire grate type thing that was the same measurements as my pan). i sprayed the wire rack with pam and placed it on the foil covered pan. i set the oven for broil 500* and placed the meat on the rack. i put the pan in the center of the oven. i broiled one side for about 10 minutes; turned the meat over and broiled it another 10 minutes. it worked for us. let me know if you try it.

Froufy 06-11-2006 08:06 PM

Here I am - hope the roast is sending delicious smells thru your house! And I do hope your tom troubles are soon over! Poor you - the muffins sound great tho and I will have to try them! (I love anything w/blueberries - hint hint hint Kathy - will trade you a hot blueberry pie for some RAIN! :) )

....and now that you have a pink bra I can make you an honorary froufie! (Saundra - I am sure that since you have now publicly admitted to not owning a pink bra you are out and about trying to rectify the situation? :) )

Sandra - love the look of determination on your face - and it obviously paid off ! Glad the bowling is working out for you - but I do think you guys deserve some R&R as well!

Also for pics there are free websites you can use - I use webshots - you can create 'albums' for sharing w/friends only (private vs public albums) and then just copy/paste url here to show the pic!

Kathy - good luck to your brother & sil w/the new kiddies - I feel so sad when I hear how these kids are moved around...and I too would be devastated if I had them for a few months or longer then had to send them off - how heartbreaking that would be!

I am very impressed with all your 'planning ahead' - all that lunch prep will certainly help you stay OP!

Melissa - I am so excited for you - I know how it feels once you start decorating and realize the possibilities! My living room is painted like a dark red/burgundy and I almost had palpitations before it was done - couldn't believe how BOLD we were - but in the end it looks FANTASTIC - with cream color/off white sofas and my white lacquer piano against the burgundy walls - very powerful!

Not sure about a concrete floor in a home - not something I am familiar with - all I can imagine is my garage or basement storage area - isn't it cold on the tootsies? (can you add throw rugs?) - and heaven forbid you drop something or trip and fall! OUCH!

We did go see the Cars movie yesterday - very very cute - little ds (and I'm sure big ds) loved it! It was cold and raining when we got it - like fall again! Dropped kids off and decided to go out for dinner (ya like we needed to eat more!). Wanted to go to this korean place where you cook the food on a table top grill - hadn't been there in years - and at first we thought we drove right by - but in fact it is GONE GONE GONE!

Ended up driving thru the market area (VERY trendy downtown section with bars, bistros, restaurants, etc).... first problem is finding parking! There is a place we like that has live piano music but we already knew that a) parking would be a challenge and b) the place would already be packed and we might not get in! We drove around a bit - then aborted and headed for china town for chinese food (it's almost 10 pm at this point).

Went to this place we have been to before - walk in - and it seems on sat night it becomes a karoaoke place - and it was packed and frankly I was not looking for amateur entertainment. Ended up going to a place a few doors down - very BASIC decor - but food is great! Ate too much, got home too late, woke up too early - and very crabby and depressed today.

Got up early as I could not sleep - went off to find big ds a pink dress shirt (we bought one the other day but it was like $45 which I thought was way too expensive - turns out it was too big anyways) - found a cheaper one (hilfiger reduced to 30 from $65!). Big ds going to a wedding today - looked fabulous in pink shirt, pink textured striped tie, black suit - white pouf (and no I had nothing to do with the choice of color - real men do wear pink!).

Then did some returns (of the other shirt) and groceries with dh and little ds. The best thing I did today was clean out the fridge freezer - it looks great now - and you can even see what's in there! I threw out anything that was undistinguishable (ha ha ha) or had freezer burn, or was in there too long - and found some chicken drumsticks which I defrosted and made for dinner!

I am still stressed about $$$ it seems - and generally not feeling my usual upbeat self? I think I am just abusing myself with too much food and not caring about myself at all - I know this is not a good situation - and I need to try and stop the madness!

Vickie 06-11-2006 08:19 PM

Saundra, thanks for the directions. I could always make the cola chicken bbq sauce and slather that on before I broil. Did you use a pork tenderloin, the long thin piece? That's one of my favorite pork cuts.

The Froufie roast was magnificent as always! The last two times I couldn't get it as crunchy on the outside. Maybe I am using too much flour? It was a little grainy in spots but tasted yummy. Jim had two plates full and there are leftovers for tomorrow. We would definitely do the eye of the round roast again over the sirloin. Yummeroo!!! Frouf, I hope you manage to drag yourself back on the wagon with me. Just do it one meal at a time and you'll be back on program in no time. Think about getting ready for your next trip before it's on your horizon!

I can't believe how good those muffins are. They are calling to me though!

The White Sox are playing a night game on ESPN, so Jim is watching that live at the moment. I came in here to say Hi!

Vickie 06-11-2006 08:21 PM

Frouf, you sure did have a big day. I'm exhausted and I did nothing but stay home and cook and do laundry!

Katpo 06-11-2006 08:33 PM

I'm gearing up to watch the Mavs game but thought I'd check in one last time. Frouf, that sounds like quite a weekend you've had! I realized that I didn't report my pink bra status but I do have one, although it is patterned. Does that still count?

Does everyone suppose it might be time to weigh and change our trackers to reflect the true thing? Ahem ... speaking strictly for myself here ... mine doesn't seem to be true anymore. I am shoving the water down like a madwoman, partly trying to settle my stomach. I had realized earlier that I've had no milk today so I thought I'd drink a big glass. My stomach informed me (not so politely, either) that I am to never do that again. It feels like the whole glass of milk is pooling in my esophagus. I'm also drinking more Mylanta to see if that will help.

Must continue to dry my hair so that I'm done with everything by 8:00. Be back tomorrow.

Vickie 06-11-2006 08:54 PM

I'm willing.

septembersgoal 06-11-2006 09:52 PM

Hey guys, just checking in. I've been really busy today (well, part of the day I was busy with a nap  ). I hope that you're all doing well.

Kathy, I changed mine the other day to be honest. I had been fudging for awhile. :o

Talk to you all tomorrow!!

Froufy 06-11-2006 09:55 PM

I don't dare get on the scale quite yet as I think seeing the 'damage' might further depress me! I love the idea of one meal at a time! I think I shall try that at the very least!

And speaking of milk I picked up some lactaid tablets - vanilla flavored chewables! (in case I am somewhere and don't have water to drink it down!). Have to remember to pop some in my purse just in case!

I am so glad you love the froufie roast - I tell you it is a guaranteed favorite at our house too - and I have served it to company several times with excellent results. (and I do remember seeing a roast in the freezer when I cleaned it out this morning so should keep this on the agenda!). I do have trouble controlling myself and tend to nibble on it as I slice it and prepare it!

kathy - any pink counts - so please consider yourself an honorary member of the Froufie Pink Bra Society (my favorite is actually white w/pink and red hearts all over it!).

Glad you are keeping up with your calcium - I must start taking my supplements again - I have been lazy about it!

And Vickie you are right - I was just talking to dh the other day - found some great cruise bargains for Sept./Oct (no kidding - like hurricane season? lol). Anyhow - the one I was interested in was Oct 8th - and I told him that if I booked that it might be an EXCELLENT motivator for me to stay on track and lose some weight in preparation for the trip (of course he is afraid of gaining it all back in one week - which is entirely possible I suppose?). Anyhow - it was a thought - but of course given $$ situation I do hesitate to book anything right now - but I think it would surely keep me focused as I think about the clothes I would need to fit into and how I would feel!

I can't believe tomorrow is Monday! I have a comple of HR nightmares to deal with as soon as I get in - and I am dreading it already!

I am yawning now - dh out drumming - so I shall try and get ready for bed and read a bit!

Nitey nite!

Katpo 06-11-2006 10:23 PM

Mavs are up 16 at the half! HOLY WA!!! This is incredible!

ontarget 06-11-2006 10:53 PM

hi there, frouf. i am still wanting to go see da vinci code. am i behind or what? our last movie at the theater was king kong. yes, i am wayyyyy behind. we've gotten lazy and spoiled to dvd/subtitles.

vickie, it's me sandra. i think you could use the cola chicken sauce all right. main thing would be to marinate at least 4 hours. ours was good but i think it would have been better if i'd had more time. yes, it was the long pork loins. they were thick, too.

kathy, i'm going to wi fri at ww. i'll change mine then no matter what. ouch! it's going to hurt.

melissa, when you said you'd been fudging, i was reminded of my father. he was a principal/teacher when i was in junior high. i remember him telling us not to make candy when we took tests. then he'd talk about fudging. you brought a big smile to me. thank you. on a sadder note--i'm sure i'm in the high 190's again. i'm not weighing till fri. i'll live in ignorance till then.

okay, i'm going to see about watching the rest of the game. you know i'm for the mavs all the way.

Vickie 06-11-2006 11:48 PM

Oops, Sandra! Sorry.

Katpo 06-12-2006 12:05 AM

And the final verdict: another win! 2-0 in the series!

nurseinnc 06-12-2006 04:37 AM

Good morning everyone, it is 4:30 am and I am wide awake! I worked Sat night so I slept all day Sunday and then ended up being called off last night for a low census so now I am awake. I am glad I was called off though since Craig was off last night too.
We had a terrible storm that woke me up yesterday afternnoon. A hugh tree fell across the driveway but the city was out here right away to clear the drive and the street. We get to deal with removing the rest of the debris from the front yard. We had another tree fall in front of the bedroom too. No real damage though thank goodness.
We haven't found a WW meeting yet that will work with our crazy schedule but I will keep looking.
I will weigh this morning and adjust my tracker accordingly. I think I am only a couple of pounds off (I hope anyway).
BTW, I also have a pink bra and it is my favorite!
I hope everyone had a good weekend, mine was ok at work. We did have a young woman (alcoholic) bleed out Sat night. We tried desperately to save her but she had been drinking heavily for so many years and her blood vessels were very weak so we couldn't save her. That was really hard but unfortunately it happens. If only young people could understand the harm they do to themselves sometimes. The good thing is that the ER doctor told me he almost sent her home because he couldn't really find anything wrong with her. She would have bled out at home in her bed that night so it was a good thing he followed his gut instinct and admitted her.
Anyway, on a lighter note, I hope you all have a good day. I think I will try to go back to sleep for a while and then get up, weigh and ajdust my tracker if needed.

Vickie 06-12-2006 07:54 AM

Good Morning Chicks! I decided not to weigh in today. Yeah, yeah, I know I said **** or high scale but I changed my mind because of TOM. I had a GREAT week and I know it. So I'll change my tracker to show what I was the last time I was a WW. Next week, I'll have no excuses. I know you have no reason to believe me but I mean it.

I'm sort of blue this morning. I think I'll go on the treadmill since I'm not going to WW. That will make me feel good and committed. I'm having lunch with my Sister/BIL and we'll be hitting another Lane Bryant! There are two more gray ones listed on Ebay but I can't tell you how it irritates me when some of those folks gouge for shipping. I'm ok with them adding in packing supplies but come on. I just won a bid where they charged me $2.75 to ship. The two listed now by the same person is charging $5.00 to ship.

Frouf, obviously I understand exactly what you mean about the scale. It tells the truth but it isn't always our friend. I'm glad that you have a cruise to look forward to and to motivate you.

Kathy, what does your license plate stand for?

Paula, I'm thankful that the storm and the trees didn't hurt your house or you and Craig. Keep looking for that meeting. I know in my heart they make a difference. Too bad you don't have a Center near you. I could go 7 days a week, several times a day.

Well, off to post a menu and get my day started.

nurseinnc 06-12-2006 08:39 AM

Good morning again. OK I did weigh and I have changed my tracker accordingly. I only had to add 3 pounds so it isn't so bad. It does make me more determined to get back to meetings though.
Vickie, there is a center fairly close to me but since we work night shift most of the times won't work. Once we finally get our schedules close to the same, which will be starting next weekend, we should be able to fit in a meeting that we can attend most weeks.
I am off to eat some breakfast and do my walk away the pounds video. Have a great day everyone.

Katpo 06-12-2006 09:02 AM

Mine was 146.4 this morning, which is up a solid pound from this time last week but oh well. I'm changing it anyway.

Vickie, that would loosely be interpreted as "We Be #1 in Basketball" !! At least, that's MY take on it! It's the example for ordering personalized Mavs plates from the DOT.

Enjoy your lunch with your sister! As for the w/i, I understand what you mean about putting it off. I'm sure some of my problem is extra fluid because my foot has been swollen all weekend despite my (wildly unsuccessful) attempts to stay off of it. Maybe by next week things will be back to normal for you.

Well, ack. Computer is acting up so I suppose I should reboot. I did manage to get up and get myself to work by 7:00 this morning so that was at least a good start.

septembersgoal 06-12-2006 09:03 AM

Morning! :sunny: I hope that you all have wonderful days.

Katpo 06-12-2006 09:07 AM

Paula, that's sad about the young lady ... and so true that kids today just see the fun side to partying and being crazy, and not the end result of excessiveness. We had a tree crash down in the front yard earlier this year and it was an ordeal getting it all cut up and hauled away. I'm glad you didn't have any damage.

Good morning, Melissa! Have a great day!

Mattandgabbysmom 06-12-2006 09:41 AM

Good morning ladies, I haven't posted in a while but I will try to keep up with the past posts. Just have been real busy, dd has a bad cold and refuses to take medicine to at least give her some relief :( She literally has a hysterical fit if I just mention it, I have tried slipping it in her juice, but the little bugger can taste it, she fights me so bad that I have to use tylenol suppositories when she has a fever, funny thing is she tells me I want medicine in my hynie(sp?) I am going to have to see if they have cold & cough medicine in suppositories. She is coughing alot which is making her vomit, she climbed in bed with us on Friday night and I woke up at 3 am to her vomiting all over my bed. My dh works alot of side work at nights and he also works on Saturdays so I am so far behind on my yard work it is getting out of control, I have weeds galore, my gutters need cleaning, I haven't even got my vegetable bed prepared to replant, my front driveway & walkways are covered with stuff that falls from the trees. I am feeling really overwhelmed, I know I probably have pms, I am due I think in about a week. On a lighter note I have been op,I am changing my weigh in day to Thursday morning, the ww center I go to does not have a day when you can bring your child with you, I brought my dd with me last Monday and I was getting some looks from people, she wasn't even bad. I found another center that has a morning session on Thursday that allows children. Sorry to be such a downer :( I will be back to read everyones post, I just want to get started on my housework before I get lazy :)

ontarget 06-12-2006 11:06 AM

no problem, vickie. i just didn't want saundra to be blamed if the recipe turned out not so good. i don't blame you for staying home today from wi. if i had tom, i would, too. i bought some sas shoes on eban and was totally gouged by shipping. well, not every time but some. now i watch out for that better. i'm going to do more exercise biking today. now that i'm on mobic my feet don't hurt. i have a colonoscopy wed week. i can't take mobic for 5 days prior. i'm hoping i can at least take tylenol. (i backed out on this test last year so i'll have to go through with it this time.) oh, well, life goes on.

paula, i can't imagine dealing with the stresses you have at work. you are a courageous woman. i'm going to ww fri am. (i keep saying this so i won't back out.) i hope you and dh find a class soon that works for you.

kathy, we watched the last quarter. i enjoyed seeing the locker room and their snazzy chairs. hope they win it all. i like mark cuban.

good morning, melissa. hope you're having a magnificent monday.

nikki, congratulations on staying op. i hope you can find the perfect ww meeting for you. hang in there, girl.

i just made angela's rice pudding and will have it for bfast in a few minutes. it's a gorgeous day here. i'm anxious to go fling some arrows. i haven't shot any since friday. (but we shot from around 8 am to around 2:30 pm that do so i'm not behind.) have a great day, all.

MAGGIELINA 06-12-2006 11:55 AM

Good morning everybody, hope you had a wonderfull (and restfull) weekend... I personally wished that sundays would have 48 hours instead of the usual 24!! Mondays are allways so busy for most people....

So I came back from (rainy) Acapulco, and had a blast with my family: dh jokes that we talk non stop for the whole week, specially with my sister (sher just bought this system where your phone is connected to the modem and you can make unlimited calls for $38.00, so that she can call me now everyday and keep in touch)

I was afraid of going in the scale, since I knew I had not stick a 100% to my diet, but it was ok: i still have to work on my control.... and sticking to my excersice routine (my knee is acting up, maybe because of the kickboxing...)

I'll spend all week working in the garden as I just received my 1600 (what was I thinking when I placed the order???) seedlings and they need to be trasplanted ASAP... and with all the rain we've had, there's a lot of weeding to keep up...

Do each of us have to post a menu every so often? Please advice...

Have a great, motivating, fun, loving week!!

Maggie, you don't have to post one if you don't want to -- I like to see what other people are eating though because sometimes it gives me new ideas.

It sounds like your week was great!

MAGGIELINA 06-12-2006 12:15 PM

Thanks for the reply Kathy and Ì'll try to post at least a menu a week from now on (who knows, maybe you'll like to try mexican style food....)

For today I had freshly made fruit cocktail and bran flakes with ff milk for breakfast

For lunch we'll have chicken fajitas (chicken breast strips with sautee onions, red, green and yellow pepper, and mushrooms), with pinto beans, brown rice, avocado slices and green tomatoe salsa

And I usually have some fresh fruit and yoghurt or a salad for dinner, although sometimes I use a couple of my allowed weekly points to make either a sandwich (leftover chicken or turkey breast from previous lunches, lettuce, sprouts, tomato, avocado, jalapeño pepper and mustard on toasted whole wheat bread) or a quesadilla

By the way, you asked me what kind of dogs do I have: I have 2 westies, 4 mini schnauzzer and a humongous english mastiff, who actually thinks is smaller and lighter than the rest of the gang and behaves accordingly!! and I dearly love them all!

Sorry, I think it was Vickie who asked me about my dogs, not Kate.

By the way, how do you make "air popped popcorn"? Should I use some PAM spray in the bottom to avoid burning the kernels? I do love popcorn and would be a great treat!!

I seem to be in better spirits, I cleaned my house had breakfast and made some muffins. I was able to force medicine into my dd, I let her play in the bath after so she would not vomit the medicine, baths always seem to make her happy, my kids love baths.

Sandra you have such concentration going on in that photo sure doesn't look like a Lucy moment( I also get those Lucy moments) :D

Kathy good luck to your brother & sil with the children, my friends father and two brothers work with foster care, her father was the one who assigned the children to homes, he told me some horror stories, I feel so sad when I hear how these kids are moved from one home to another, I look at my children and see how they love security, routine & love, it just breaks my heart to think about these children.

Melissa how exciting for you painting & decorating, i am glad you liked the end results!

Froufie you will be glad to know I own two pink bras so I am officially in the froufie club. ds wants to see the Cars movie, I may take him this weekend glad you enjoyed it. Is it still raining there?
Whats the matter froufie you don't like karoaoke, you don't want to hear the people that audition for American Idol sing (LoL) :D

Vickie sounds like you were a busy bee with all your preperations, good for you for staying op. I must say, I made the muffins this morning, I did not have lemon pudding but I did have butterscotch, so I used that with fresh blueberries and followed your ingredients all cornmeal. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!! I can not believe how moist they came out, I already had two (DOH), thats alright almost tom and If I am going to eat something it might as well be core. Please share, what is a froufie roast, it does sound delicious.

Patti glad to hear the trees didn't cause alot damage.

Maggie Alcapuco sounds like alot of fun. Please do share your menus I love mexican food.

Sorry Paula, I skipped you by mistake. I am sorry to hear about the young girl, it is sad to see how alot of young people abuse their bodies they never think things will happen to them. good luck in finding a ww location and a 3lb gain is not bad, it could be gone in a couple of days

A special welcome to all the new members of the pink bra club!:) Niki - my dd was just like that - hated to take ANY MEDICINE (I had a bathroom shelf full of all the rejected types/flavors!) and I did end up using suppositories when necessary to bring down fever (and she didn't seem to mind it either!). You and your ds will love the Cars movie I"m sure - very cute!

Paula - sounds like you are still doing great - good luck in finding a meeting that is suitable - and I was really freaked out about that young girl dying - how sad that must be! I can't even being to imagine trees falling all over the place - I would be so afraid one would fall on my house or car or something!

Melissa- hope your day is going well and you are daydreaming about all the decorating possibilities!

Angela - so how did the 'show' go? Are you a famous star now and are the agents from Hollywood banging at the door? Hope the hair and dress were fabulous!

Sandra - well the rain has finally stopped (sure now that the weekend is over) and sun is trying to peek out altho it's not that warm out - have fun enjoying the sunshine and arrow shooting!

Vickie - the hunt continues - let us know how you make out and have fun at lunch. Talk about shipping costs - try living in Canada. I just 'won' a french terry two piece (royal blue!) set by Quacker Factory - I paid about $21US for the set which is a very good price - but then the cheapest shipping was a bout $10 us - which is like 50% of the entire cost of the outfit - NOT GOOD!

Maggie - welcome back - sounds like you had a really good time! We usually have a daily menu thread going - feel free to post if you like (and we always like new recipes!). Speaking of which I need to get some blueberries so I can make those muffins everyone is talking about! So I assume you have like a huge back yard for 1600 seedlings?:). And air popped popcorn is generally made in a microwave oven using a special vented bowl - you don't need to add any fat!

I have decided to try very very hard to watch my mouth (not what I say but what I eat! ha ha ha Actually should probably also watch what I say?)....and packed up lunch and snacks! Problem is I have some leftover organic nacho chips and some red licorice sticks in my desk so I really need to make those disappear!

My other MAJOR COMMITMENT is signing up at a fitness place - Yes I actually made a phone call (they even remembered me from 2 years ago!) - it is a curves copy (setyourpace.ca) and I love the friendly fun atmosphere - only a 5 min drive from my house. Not sure if I will join by the month or maybe 3 month membership? but I have no more excuses, esp since dd is not dancing anymore and art class is over on wed I should have some time to myself (instead of chauffeuring everyone around!). My best bet is to go on my way home from work (around 5-5:30 pm) get my 30 mins done and head home. Past experience shows that if I go home I tend to not want to go out again! Wish me luck!

And my 2 HR nightmares may have even rectified themselves - at least one did for sure which was pretty amazing and working on the other one right now! Having major headaches with my new database tho - which is STILL not up and running as we sat in tech's office testing it out and finding bug after bug after bug - lots more work to be done and very frustrating and depressing! OH well!

Okay had lunch but I am now hungry again - I shall have a banana now! (and more water!).

Later,

Frouf
