Hi Angela, I did reduce the milk because I made it once before and it was a little mushy so this time I only added 8oz of milk, I figured what the heck trial & error. My ds still liked it mushy & he is a picky eater. I'll let you know how it comes out I am going to put it in the oven in a few minutes
|
Angela the pumkin pie came out really good, I added about 1 cup of oatmeal to the mixture and it came out thick almost like a cake. My ds will be the taste tester when he gets home from school :D
|
Hope your ds likes the cake/pie - sounds yummy!
Angela - I think the square foot gardening is a great idea - await your results! Not sure if i will do veggies this year - but I know I would love fresh garden veggies to munch on. kathy - good luck w/dinner - we await the 'reveal' and want to know about baby's arrival. Vickie - hope you had a good successful shopping experience - I looked at the site and the bras look lovely - I am very sure I am wearing the wrong size - but not sure if I want to make major investment right now? Let us know what you get! Gee it must be library week around here? We shall be heading there on Saturday! I am home today - and think it's time for a nap! I overindulged in some ice cream last night w/kiddies - and I think I don't realize how 'lactose intolerant" I now am (as I get older I am having more and more trouble w/milk and dairy products). So my tummy was all gassy and rumbly throughout the night and I did get to bed very late - so woke up feeling very yucky! Stuck around for a while to see if I would be feeling better (asked dh to pat my back I swear I needed to be burped! ha ha ha). But decided to stay home. My stomach feels much better now and I am being very concious of any dairy I put in my mouth. I think I shall have to admit defeat and get some of those lactaid pills to keep on hand so I can pop one before I have milk! what a bummer. Day started out sunny, but starting to get overcast (hope you got out for the good weather Saundra!), and the WORST NEWS is they are calling for rain starting tomorrow for a few days - and dd's last performance is friday night OUTDOORS - Relay for Life - big fundraising event in the field behind our 'local' sportsplex - people camping out overnight - I can only imagine how crappy it will be if it rains! And get this girls have to dance in bare feet! (on turf?). Their jazz sandals will get ruined/torn and of course no point on wearing tap shoes on turf! Told dd to make sure we bring a towel and moistened wipes to clean off her feet afterwards (need to be there by 7 and hope to be done by 10 pm) I sure hope I'm not hanging out in the rain! UGH. And sil/bil supposedly coming over now to 'look' at our topsoil (yes we still have a humongous mound in our driveway and no way can we use it all) - hopefully they will take some of it (all of it?) home. Then dh off to pick up little ds - and he is going out drumming tonight - so just little ds and I (after we drop dd off at art class). Think I shall go lie down now! Later, Frouf |
hi, chickies. i'm here to report that i'm having a fantastic day. just wish my eating were more in control. we practiced a lot of shots at 60 yds then headed to golden corral for lunch then on to the indoor range to confirm our 20 yd pins. the senior games are this friday. we're almost ready.
nikki, congratulations on doing so well on core. i'm proud of you. paula, i'm glad dh is going to go to the meetings with you. i have a good gf who goes with me. makes it more fun. angela, i know what you mean about getting too hungry and wanting carbs. that's what happened to us today. i had mac n cheese and a big brownie. i normally make better choices at golden corral. kathy, have fun tonight. my son told me he had thought of buying mav tickets to resell. but he didn't. saundra, glad that wolf went home. we hear them sometimes when we're hunting. very scarey. vickie, i know what mean about loving good bras. i like to wear minimizers. saundra, great photo of ds. thanks for sharing. gotta run. curtis has a movie in and is calling me. |
Hi Chicks! I'm home from dinner. I didn't cook because I was out late. No pool opening still. I'm going to go count up my points and go to bed. I got lots of good sales but bad news on the bra front. They discontinued my bra in my size. Another incentive to get down in weight. I found 4 of them today and found another 3 on Ebay. I'm going to see if I can go to another Lane Bryant store locally and see if they have any hanging around. I'm going to try to buy up enough to last me until I get down one size. My little legs are so tired from all the walking. I'll be back later.
|
Wow, what a slow evening around here! I'm super tired. We've only been home about 1 1/2 hours and I'm definitely ready for bed. We did manage to meet some of our new neighbors tonight though, after Murphy ran over to them while they were working in their yard. So that's good.
I think that I'm going to put a pork tenderloin in the crockpot to cook overnight. Anyone done this? I guess we'll see what happens. :) I hope that you all have great nights and great days tomorrow. I hope to catch up then. I'm just out of it right now! Good night! |
I think the overnight crockpot idea might work - let us know!
Vickie - sounds like you burned lots of calories walking around - good for you. Await further details on your shopping bargains - and I sure hope you can find what you are looking for in the other stores. Good luck! sandra - sounds like you are gearing up for a good run on Friday! can't wait to hear how you do! I am feeling a bit crappy tonight mostly cuz my eating is so out of control and I think that is what is causing my tummy to protest so much! It's like I no longer care what I put in my mouth - and I am on a downward spiral. I am hoping for some kind of epiphany where I finally sit up and realize how much harm I'm doing to myself and I start eating well and exercising regularly? (then i wake up from my dream.....). Big ds working and now off to a concert downtown (and yes he did try to get me to drive him - ya right!). Dh gone jamming (not back yet) - after dropping dd off at art class, little ds and I watched tv and ate some popcorn until we had to pick her up again (9:15) - kind of a boring night? And now I am panicking a bit - of course was home today and I now remember a deadline for an abstract I have to submit - by June 8th! It's only 300 words but of course I am a bit stressed about getting to work and getting it done and sending it in on time (after having my Director review it?). I also have a PDP (performance discussion) with my one staff member - need to prepare that as well (just a paragraph) and we will have a nice chat. Bad vibes I am getting indicate she is looking for another position (wants to move up and I can't really blame her), and I believe she had a 'job interview' the other day. I am a bit afraid of hearing what she has to say? It would be a VERY BAD THING if she left right now as we are in the final stages of several projects - it would be a major rush job to try and find someone else - and for those that know - nothing moves quickly in the government! :D Guess I'll go to bed soon! Frouf |
Slow night is right! I figured I'd come home to pages and pages of new posts!
The work thing was okay. They ordered from a place called Gourmet Burrito and that's exactly what it was -- gourmet burritos! Go figure! They also had an employee who accompanied the food and made quesadillas on-site, and there was guacamole, sour cream (probably not FF), queso (definitely not FF), salsa and chips. I ate very little, drank one Smirnoff Ice and a bottle of water, and mostly sat out in the yard talking to people. This guy's house is soo nice, with a beautiful inground pool and spa, gorgeous landscaping and covered patios, raised beds everywhere, tiers and huge shrubs and just NICE. Melanie, have you ever been to Craig's? I can't remember but I'm sure you have. He re-did the pool sometime since last summer with new tile, etc. It's awesome. The Air Force guys are fun to hang around with and since Judd is buds with them all, I'm sorta automatically thrown in there too. They're a funny bunch of guys, that's for sure. We came home and I took a bath. Nighttime weight is only up one pound from this morning, so maybe it'll be down in the morning from this morning. It's time to get off of this 145 business or change my ticker. I thought it was temporary but that was nearly a week ago. See you all in the morning! |

vickie, don't you just hate it when "they" discontinue a favorite item? that happens to me all the time. kmart had some little summer tops that i dearly loved. they were my uniforms for about 5 summers. now they don't sell them any more. bummer!
melissa, i have a sirloin i'm thinking of cooking in the slow cooker. i guess it will be like roast if i do. i still may do it. frouf, i'd give you some words of wisdom but i don't have any. i'm struggling right now, too. i think part of my problem is i haven't been to a meeting in 2 weeks. those meetings are potent help. do you go to meetings? maybe you should think about it. i know you're very very busy with running kids here and there, but maybe you could work in a weekly meeting for yourself. kathy, sounds like you had a good time tonight. was this the same place you were last year when you made that picture you posted here for us? |
Terrific memory, Sandra! That's the place! (You amaze me!)
Off to work now ... I'll be back on in a minute. |
 I was wondering the same thing... And yet, I can't remember my own kids' names.
We never made it to the library yesterday. Grocery shopping took too long, and then it was lunchtime, and then naptime. I'm not going to mess with naptime. I got more gardening done yesterday...mixing all the dirt mixture is pretty difficult, especially when you literally have tons to do. Oh well, good exercise, right? Off to work, Angela |
Cloudy out there today. I'm sorry to report that it's going to be a lousy weekend, especially Saturday, with a high of only 55. There go the barbeque plans.
Yesterday was really nice. We went to Almonte, old town near here and had a nice visit to their museum. We saw an exhibit from Toronto on the garment industry of Toronto which had interest to Bernie and I. My grandfathers and Bernie's parents all worked there. There was a book of comments which we were glancing through, and I saw something written in 2004 by my aunt in Toronto. There was a display there by a manufacturer of men's suits, and the owner is married to my aunt's sister, small world. I called my aunt to tell her, and she was really surprised. She's coming to Ottawa on June 21st and is really looking forward to it. I can't tell you how "spry" she is. She just renewed her real estate licence. Had a good dinner out, salmon with veggies, and a quiet evening in front of the TV. I swear, Bernie was snoring all night, and I continually tried to get him to turn onto his side. I'm not sure how much I slept. Other than physio, not much planned. I may take in old vacuum and see how much it will be to repair. I don't like spending the money, but the upright doesn't cut it for stairs. Did anyone see Dateline last night. They exposed guys who lure young girls on the internet. It was awful and sure makes the internet look like a bad place. It made me feel awful. Okay, enough, see you later, |
Morning glories! :)
Here's hoping that today is a great day for everyone. Kathy, sounds like you did good last night. I don't know how you have so much self-control. I would have gobbled down the whole thing. My eating was a little off last night too. We ended up going to chick-fil-a for supper. I only "spent" about 12 points but that's way more than I intended for one meal this week. Oh well. I hope that you all have great days! I've got to run. |
I saw the dateline episode, can you believe one of the guys who came to meet a 13 yr old girl was a 6th grade teacher in a Catholic school. They are really sick, the look on their faces when they walk in the door thinking they are meeting a child is sickening.
|
Good morning everyone. It is beautiful and sunny here this morning. We are supposed to go to the WW at work meeting at 12:00 today. We will probably change days and times next week but we will go to this meeting today just to get started again.
It looks like last night was a slow night here. We rented Must Love Dogs and watched it. It was cute. I am going to go cut up all of the fruit I bought at the farmer's market yesterday so I won't have to fix it each night before work this weekend. I hope you all have a good day. |
Good (gloomy) morning - actually afternoon already!
At work today - my tummy feels a bit better but I did swallow a couple of Tums before bedtime! Dh came in VERY LATE! and I was tossing and turning all night so I am very tired. Does not help that dd's dad called at like 6:45 am and then some huge delivery truck doing that 'backin up' noise at 7 am - no rest for the wicked I guess! :) Then dh calls me at work - to tell me he COMPLETELY FORGOT that we had our parent/teacher interview this morning from 8:15-8:45 - ya right! (poor thing is lost since his PDA crapped out - and he can't even remember to send it in to get fixed!). So he's rescheduled it to 4 pm today! (thanks for the notice) I do have a 3 pm meeting will try and ship it up a bit (altho it shouldn't be long) so I can attend. Saundra - I agree - not much outdoors fun this weekend - starting to look overcast and rain expected today and throughout the weekend. Still keeping fingers (and toes) crossed that tomorrow night is not too bad so dd can dance outside! Poor little ds is also frantic about the weather as we got him that ride on jetski water toy. He was really hoping to go to his aunt's pool this weekend and try it out. Luckily the movie "cars' which he has been greatly looking forward to is opening this weekend - so might be a good backup esp if it is raining! Guess I should go eat some lunch now? |
It's getting gloomier as we speak. I went out to do a few errands, and am now in my cozy abode having yocheese and veggies for lunch. I'm glad you have the movie backup Frouf, cause it doesn't look like a pool weekend. I still might try to have a barbeque.
I took my old vacuum for a consult;) . Turns out that it's not serious and will be ready tomorrow. I think it will actually be less than $30.00. Now I have this new (used one day only) Bissel. I'll probably give it to the kids when they move here. Their house is very large, so I figure they can keep it in the basement and use it for that area which has a bedroom and rec room. Thank goodness for children, they get all of my shouldn't have purchases. :) |
And they're probably saying "thank goodness for mom - we get all of her shouldn't have purchases!" ha ha ha
|
we're having a downpour today. curtis is worried about having the archery competition tomorrow, but i'm pushing him to have it. this is a qualifier for next year's national senior games and i want to go. lol
we'll be busy all day with mso things (montana senior olympics). meetings, buffets, check ins, etc...... kathy, i hope i keep this memory of mine. however, i sometimes i catch myself going to the garage and can't remember what i'd gone out there to get. angela, i'm going to google and see what you're up to. saundra, what a wonderful surprise to see your aunt's comments at the museum. i'm glad you called her. i know it made her day. melissa, hang in there. i'll be back op with you soon. paula, what fruit did you get? frouf and saundra, it's raining here, too. hope it clears before the tournament tomorrow. i started this post at 9:30 and am just now finishing it. we've been to the meeting and the rain's just a drizzle now. life is good. |
Listen, you guys better enjoy that rain! We won't have any for several months and are expected to hit 100 today. It's very depressing.
|
It rained here soo bad yesterday from the wee hours of the morning straight through till the late evening, my car didn't start this morning, I think something electrical got wet. We are also expecting rain today & tomorrow.
|
Okay Kathy, here's the deal. We'll trade (including spouses ) for one week. I know Bernie and I would love your heat. Oh, you've got to put in the pool first.:)
|
Sandra, I know what you mean about the memory thing. I remember everything and it really flores people. However, I do the same thing as you, "what was coming in here for?" Guess we're just human after all. It's so good to hear you so excited for all of your activities.
Niki, so you're the one who sent us all this yucky weather! Is it sunny there yet? Yes Frouf, my kids think that I'm nuts, by say "thanks".:) |
Saundra it is raining today & we expect more tomorrow so I will be sending two more storms your way (lol) :D . No sun for a few more days :(
|
Hi all, this will be my last post for most of the summer. We are packing up to go to the summer house. Our ISP only gives us 2 hours a month (only dial up on the lake) dh uses the 2 hours to get our mail. I can answer mail as I can download it and then answer.
We have been running around getting everything ready to take up as we have company coming up. Have a good summer folks. Hope all is well with you all. Blue skies, Donna |
Have a wonderful summer Rose, enjoy the cottage!
|
kathy, i guess i'll stay in montana right now. the rain has slacked off a bit. i have to tell you curtis was talking a lot about cancelling the shoot tomorrow. he's not talking like that now. whew! i want to play outside.
saundra, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe we are human. i actually thought we were superheroes. was i wrong? rose, have fun at the lake--and keep in touch!!! i'll miss you! we spent a little over 3 hours at the doctor/lab/xrays today. curtis is good to go for awhile longer. now we're waiting on the mso buffet tonight. the tourney's tomorrow. have a good evening, all. |
Good evening all, Craig is at work so it is the dogs and me again tonight. I decided to make dinners for the weekend since I have to work all three nights. It is really smelling good in here right now....chicken mushroom casserole and shephards pie so far. I still have to decide on 1 more dinner and fix it.
Sandra, I got cantaloupe, strawberries, cherries and watermelon. The cherries are pretty sour though so I am not sure what I will do with them. I sometimes have that memory prob too. I have actually driven to the store and had to call home to see what I went to get!! I just tell everyone that I am not getting older, I just have way too much knowledge in my head! Rose, have a good summer. Guess I better go check my stuff on the stove. Have a good evening everyone incase I don't get back online tonight. |
I forgot, we went to rejoin the WW at work meeting at noon today and they have cancelled it! They do not have enough people to have the meeting. I was most upset since I was really ready to go back today. There is another place not very far away that we can go to so we will try to go Monday morning after working all night Sunday night.
|
Paula, can you pit the cherries and freeze them? I bet they would be good that way mixed with ff yogurt and Splenda in th processor. Actually that sounds very good.
Rose, have a wonderful time up north. Hope to keep in touch. Okay Niki, enough is enough.:D It's really lousy and cold out there. Yes Sandra, we're mere mortals, but sweet ones.:o Time to see what's on TV, have a good night all!:) |
Saundra, thanks, I actually have a cherry pitter from when I was in baking and pastry arts school. I guess I will be busy for a little while tonight pitting cherries since I bought a gallon of them!
|
cherries,,,,yum!! happy pitting Paula!
mmm I was invited out for supper tonight,,just got home. We had the raclette again...so tomorrows wiegh in should still be good. I helped my friend fix up her deck...I love doing yard work. I could putter outside for hours...wish I could say the same for housecleaning...haha. Bought the dvd..Walking away the pounds and tried it this morning..I even got up at 7 am to do it...felt good the rest of the day too. Hips are alittle sore and achy but thats to be expected. I even talked my friend to buyiing a copy too. We can keep each other accountable. Have a great summer Rose!! Hope you can check in once in a while. Saundra I used to love getting my mothers *leftovers* too..I didnt mind at all. Vickie,,any more discomfort..I sure hope you dont go thru what you did last fall. (hugs) Kathy was today the day you revealed yourself? haha in a good way of course Sandra did you convince Curtis to go..sure hope so..I still cant believe by your picture your a senior. Melissa have you tried the weed recipe yet?? Ive gone thru a few batches now. Love that stuff. waving to everyone else..and welcome to newbies...sorry I dont get here as often as Id like in the summer months. Ours is way to short .... have a great weekend everyone ttyl |
I forgot to tell you all about the reveal! I did it yesterday morning and she wandered out (wasn't supposed to though) to the porch "just to check" ... She said she had considered camping out by the front window to see if she could catch the fairy! Anyway, she called me yesterday and loved all the stuff, and couldn't thank me enough. She was really surprised it was me.
We're watching Mavericks tonight but I will be back tomorrow for sure. Hope everyone's doing okay. |
OK, it took 2 hours to pit 1 gallon of cherries! They look and smell wonderful but boy are they sour! I will definitely need some splenda when I use them. I am off to bed. I may not be able to get back on again until Monday afternoon since I work all weekend. I hope you all have a great weekend.
|
Well I see I have gotten quite behind! I hope that you are all doing well.
Rose, I hope that you enjoy your summer and can check in occasionally. Paula, have a good weekend at work. And congrats on getting all of that cooking done, what a job! Kathy, I know that she must have been thrilled with all of her "fairy" gifts. You are so sweet. Vickie, are you doing okay? I see you didn't post last night. I hope that everything is well for you. Sandra, have a great time "playing" outside this weekend! Well we have decided to paint our great room (LR/DR/Kitchen combo room!) tomorrow. IL's are coming to help. I have no desire whatsoever to paint but it looks awful. I think we are going with a brown or reddish brown. There's about 20 paint chips on the wall right now. This morning I am really stressed about my dad for some reason. To make a long story short we have never really had a good relationship, or much of a relationship at all. He's a pretty big baby and expects me to do all of the work in our relationship. He hasn't seen our house and doesn't know where it is. Before we moved he told me to call and tell him when he could come see it. Well, we got busy (you know with the whole moving thing) and I never called him. He never offered to help us. Now I know that he is mad about that and is refusing to call. My step-mother even sent a card with some pictures to the church where Aaron works (as a point that they don't know our address). Anyway, with father's day next weekend I'm not sure how to handle this. It's been this way my whole life. I haven't had to invite any of our other parents over, they ask what we need done and when they can come help. Anyway I could ramble about this all day but I won't. Sorry to spill all that out it's just really on my mind this morning. I know that either way there will be a big guilt trip played on me, and I'm sick of it. Sorry to ramble. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I would love to hear them. I've been dealing with this since my parents divorced when I was 7 (I was the one who had to contact my dad after that too). Sorry! I'm really stopping now. Thanks for "listening." I hope that you all have great OP days! :sunny: |

Hello ladies! Kathy, I'm so glad your coworker loved your fairy surprises.
I also love puttering around outside. In fact, I have a date with a huge pile of dirt this very morning! I went and got my hair done last night...it was fun. She cut it quite a bit shorter (about shoulder length?) and in layers, like many of you suggested. Then I had her teach me how to style it...I think I got it. We'll see. It sure looked good after she got done with it. I was so happy, I kept it down all night, and it didn't frizz! Yay, styling products! :) I'm going to attach a picture, even though it's a really weird one of my face. (It was dark, and the flash was REALLY bright.) I was happy, because the stylist loved the color of my hair, and she said I had "the perfect curls." That's all natural that you see in the picture. As the night went on, it actually started looking better, because it wasn't wet. Anyway, I'm going on and on about my own hair :o but I'm just so excited that I have a style that I like and feel comfortable with. We had a girls' movie night afterwards, and my sister and new SIL (from Colombia) watched Ever After, one of my favorite movies. Time to get things going here, Angela |
Angela, you look great! I agree with your stylist, your colour is gorgeous, lots of gals go to salons just to get your colour. I love the cut and style. Now you're ready for the performance!:)
Melissa, it must be difficult for you. Do you have a decent relationship with your step mother? You could give a quick call and invite them over for an evening. Leave the ball in dad's court. With Father's Day coming up, I would at least send him a card. It shows that you are a "lady". Hope this helped a bit. My dad was a tyrant in many ways, which was sort of how it was in the 50's and 60's, but really loved his girls. He spent almost ever Saturday taking one of us to Detroit for the day. At the end, very fond memories. Kathy, so glad that you're gal loved the gifts and was happy to see you. I know you, and you have as much fun as the recipient. Wonder who your next target will be. Paula, hope your weekend goes well. Glad you finished your chores. Patti, glad to hear that you're doing well. You really sound chipper, which makes me smile.:) Sandra, have a fun weekend. You and Curtis are "The Team".;) Vickie and Frouf, good morning! Off to the shower, |
Angela, I love it! It really, really becomes you! Now that's one less thing to worry about with the upcoming performance, and you can concentrate on your dress and practices. Enjoy the dirt! ;)
I sat down in front of the flowerbeds last night for oh, maybe 5 minutes to pull out some grass that was creeping in, and then said nah ... maybe later! I still have flowers to plant but so far they're living in their little pots and not dead yet. I was thinking about going to Tyler to see my parents tomorrow, and then Sunday is a baby shower but I can probably work it in. A two-hour baby shower (with a one-hour drive) shouldn't block out the WHOLE day, for goodness sakes. Judd and his friend went to our corner bar to watch the Mavs play, but it was so crowded they left. They went somewhere else, and it was even more crowded, so they went back to the first place and sat on the restaurant side to eat, then came home and watched it from the spaciousness and comfort of our family room. No crowds, no smoke, nobody sloshing anything on them (except what they sloshed on each other). They also brought me something home for lunch today -- grilled chicken and a salad. Melissa, that's quite a situation you've got, but I wouldn't play into his scheme. They can pout all they want (and stepmom's 'picture' jab was very transparent, I agree). I say they can jolly well start stepping up and actively being a part of your life instead of sitting back and waiting for that proverbial engraved invitation. My two cents' worth ... and easier said than done, I'm sure. People (parents or otherwise) can be real stinkers sometimes, can't they? I'm glad it's Friday but I sure didn't sleep well. I was determined last night that I was calling the regular doctor today and seeing if I can get an appointment, but I have nothing to tell him except I don't feel well! I can't expect him to start guessing if I absolutely have no more to go on than that. Perhaps bloodwork would show something, but meanwhile I sure could use some sleep. I'm having a hard time getting comfortable and staying still at night. I'm sure Judd is about to throw me out the window. I suppose I should do a few minutes' worth of work but I'll be back in a bit. TGIF! |
Angela - love the new 'do'! I bet with some good anti-frizz styling products you will be able to maintain it nicely.
Speaking of which: Hair product trial #2: Well as you all know I gave up on the l'oreal hot pink volumizing mousse - and went out and got the La Coupe Volume body boosting mousse (don't get excited it's only for hair! ha ha ha). It was on sale - this is my 2nd day using is and it is EVEN WORSE THAN THE OTHER PRODUCT! Can you believe this? Another one bites the dust. This ones makes your hair so stiff (unlike the other one which was too 'soft') you can barely style and dry it - literally get a good upper arm workout just trying to blowdry your hair. I feel like Goldilocks in the 3 bears - this is too hard - this is too soft - so I am now due for a 'this is just right!!!' Not sure what to try now - but I am very cranky cuz my hair looks awful and all the added humidity due to the rain sure doesn't help! I shall have to abandon this product too! Kathy - I bet your pg lady was overcome with gratitude for all the goodies you provided - any baby news yet? How are you feeling? Maybe a visit to dr is in order? Saundra - yup looks like Niki is sending us more rain - what a dismal weekend forecast! I am already freaking out about tonight and dd's dancing in the rain - not looking forward to it and wondering how all those people camping out are going to handle it! I also think the weather is depressing me - I feel very out of sorts and cranky. And the bad news is I am really and truly LACTOSE INTOLERANT! I had some tzaziki dip (yogurt) with flatbread crackers when I got home last night and a couple hours later my stomach was arumbling like crazy! Dh and I ended up going to a movie last night (the breakup) and I was so afraid everyone would hear my grumbly tumbly. Lots of gas pains - ended up taking this gas-x tablet before bed so I could sleep. I shall have to invest in some lactaid tablets or something so I can take them if I will be eating dairy products! What a bummer. Rose- have a wonderful time at the cottage - how relaxing that must be! Do try and stay in touch if you can! Patti - come putter around in my garden anytime you like! I sure wish we had nice weather this weekend as I still have not done any buying or planting of garden stuff! If it is not raining hard I can go look I guess? Best news is one of the neighbours is wanting our leftover topsoil (like half of our driveway still has a HUGE mound of topsoil sitting there) and is willing to buy it off of us (dh paid $400 for too many cubic yards!). Hopefully it will 'disappear' this weekend. Melissa - that is a very sad situation with your dad - but I agree he is being somewhat passive/agressive - waiting for an invite and getting angry when you are too busy too call and 'invite' him. Maybe let him know he has an 'open invitation' to come by whenever he likes? Leave a message inviting them to father's day dinner or bbq or something and see what happens? You can always just drop by w/card and treat if you feel it is warranted - but frankly I think the ball is in his court. And no lunch for me today - I did pack up some LO (broiled lean burger, peas, mashed potatoes) and when I went to get it ready for work I noticed it had become a 'vegetarian' lunch - yes 'someone' snitched the burger out (Joel?) and left the rest. So that made me even crankier - dh suggests I go out for lunch - not in the mood and such crappy weather - will see how I feel later. And big ds now featured in some other local papers - so funny reading the paper, turning the page and there is a picture of your child! ha ha ha. Little ds had a hoot with this! (so do you recognize anyone on this page? his little eyes just popped out!). And very good comments/report for little ds at parent/teacher interview - he is doing amazing math stuff - way advanced (he is in a montessori private school) however I think his reading still needs improvement and we are looking into a summer reading program or tutoring for him (he is such a slacker and we don't want to lose progress over the summer!). You know if if wasn't going to rain I would hop over to my hairdresser's at lunchtime (the place is just blocks away from my office) and get my hair washed and blow dried properly! Frouf |
