Woohoo! What a win!! All the way, White Sox! I'm looking forward to watching them (and hopefully Houston) in the World Series! The Angels we've been seeing are definitely not the same organization who spanked the Yankees, that's for sure.

And now an observation ... does anyone else who watches baseball think Lou Piniella sounds like George W. Bush? I never noticed it before!!

And another thing ... since I've watched Fox a lot lately, I've been seeing that Trading Spouses promo where the new season is starting soon. The woman that's on the first show (I guess it's the first one) is absolutely scary. I don't think anything could drag me away from watching it. It'll be like a big freaky trainwreck.

Busy day here - just trying to catch up (and falling asleep cuz it's so late!).

Sandra - sounds like you had a great time at the movies! I thought Wedding crashers was pretty funny

Kathy - I used to watch trading spouses and loved it - will have to check out when it restarts here. I am starting to really love that SuperNanny show - how brave of those families to expose themselves so much - did you see the episode where the 9 yr old girl "attacked" super nanny (biting and hitting and scratching) - I was shocked to say the least!

Also BIG CONGRATS to you for the great results on the scale! YIPPEE!!

Angela - 3 is fine w/me too - 1 is a "learning experience", 2 makes the job even harder - and at that point 3 (or more) hardly matters - honestly enjoying #3 the most as I think I am a much more confident mom.

Melissa - don't you just love being spoiled? ahh...the good old days! Hope you got some nice stuff.

Well did not end up at the museum as I was feeling guilty about just leaving the house when there was stuff to do. Ended up getting little ds to "model" clothes as we got 2 big bagfuls of stuff from his older cousin - and need to sort thru them, and see what fits now and what needs to be stored for later! Now have 3 piles in his room - and need to go find some boxes to put them away in.

Then after that back breaking job and some breakfast (like 12 noon!) it was time for a nice afternoon nap! I lay down from about 1:30 to 4 pm (with some major interruptions from ds and dh), but I understand I was making some snoring noises so I did get some rest.

DD had dance rehearsal today from 5-8:30 - so we dropped her off and went shopping for bday gift for party tomorrow and of course picked up something for little ds as well. Then we went out for DINNER - we had a craving for chinese food - and went to Chinatown for the "real" thing - it was very yummy: wonton soup, steamed rice, general tso's chicken, and some chicken & veggies. Brought home leftovers for the other kiddies.

Picked up dd and then since the older 2 were home we ended up going to the movies - saw A History of Violence - and yes there is plenty violence - altho a good story line- the gory parts are pretty gory (and I did turn my head away). Could not stand the ending - but dh thought it was appropriate!

So I guess it's time for bed? Still need to sort thru some of my "piles" tomorrow, do some paperwork (Ipod rebate and resp docs) and MUST get to Sears to see if the leather jacket is there to try on (it sure is getting pretty cold around here these days and we are dreading winter!).

Time to go wash up and cozy up for the night!

Good Sunday morning, all! I'm back at work this morning and can hopefully get in at least 6 hours.

SF Plan started off with a bang this morning -- my official weight was 153.0. Do you think my 11:00 run to Sonic last night had anything to do with it? Big DD had gone to get herself a hamburger and when she got back with it, it smelled so good I had to have one too. I got myself a big one with onion rings and little DD got a little one. We sat there and ate every bite, and licked our fingers too! I thought I might as well have one last hurrah.

Today when I get home, all I'm doing is laundry and watching TV. Well, and cooking dinner, but that's it! I'm ready to do some sitting.

Good Morning, Chicks! Nothing can detract from how happy I am this morning. Although, it would be nicer to get wins without the bad calls going against the Angels. Thing is.....we've been getting bad umpiring all year long and we are kind of feeling like the Sox are finally getting lucky for a change. If I was an Angel fan, I'd be really angry this morning. I'm scared that the umpires are going to try to start deliberately making bad calls against us to even things up. Jim says they won't do that though. We are still scared of the Angels and know that they are a really good team. We can't let down for a minute. It is nice that even in the worst case scenario, we have home field advantage.

Enough about baseball.....it was pretty quiet here last night except for the discussion about 2 year old new borns. Wow! If you thought it is hard to walk around with an extra 40 pounds, imagine how it would be to have it all in your tummy!

Sandra, I had to laugh at you. Every time Jim and I go to the show we say we should go more often. I wonder why we don't make time? We even have some gift certificates we need to use and we still don't go.

Kath, I'm guessing you'll be rooting for Houston? Your Sonic snack sounds pretty darn good to me right now. I'm having so many cravings that I can't even name them all. Suffice to say that I'm missing fast food. One place in particular is Culver's. Yum. It stinks that you are at work but I always loved being there when no one else was. It seemed like I could get so much more done without my employees stopping by and the telephone ringing. Jim said last night that he thought Pinella sounded a bit like William Shatner's character in Boston Legal, Denny Crane. He said he hears a little Bush now that you mention it.

Frouf, you WERE up late. You must be feeling pretty darn good about getting all that stuff done last night. I worked on my budget and all my paperwork yesterday so today will be a bit more relaxing. Except that I'm pretty much broke until the end of the month. I'll be cooking at home alot the next couple of weeks. I hope you find, and buy, the jacket at Sears. You deserve to splurge a little on yourself. And, after all, it's not completely frivolous. You NEED a coat!

Melissa, so now that you have that cute fluffy 15 pound chick....let's go for the 20 pound one!

I've got organizing to do today. I'd like to set up the tree and make sure it works but I don't think Jim is in the mood. I can't do it by myself so maybe one day next week. I had planned to make Chicken Fried Rice today but realized Chinese the night before weigh in is stupid. So we'll be having Chipotle Burrito bowl which is all Core with the exception of the cheese which I pay points for. I'll make my brown rice to put in it like I always do.

I'll stop in later to see how you all are. Kath, don't work too hard!

Wow you guys have been chatty. I'm back from church. DH is still there practicing. I'll be so glad when he moves practice to another day so that we can come home at the same time. Right now I have the door and window open and it feels heavenly. Local weather station says that is is 52 here but it is sunny and beautiful and feels warmer than that. Gorgeous! I think DH and I are going to go out to lunch, then maybe to visit parents (?) and then to the park this evening. It is so beautiful!

Kathy, sorry you are stuck at work. But maybe you can get something accomplished. I love Sonic, your story made me drool.

Vickie, glad to hear that you are happy this morning! I don't know a thing about baseball. My 7 year old brother plays and he is really, really good. I anticipate a lot of baseball in my future. Thanks for the encouragement. I am hoping to get that 20 pound chick soon!! The loss was very motivating.

Frouf, get out of the house today and go shopping for a coat! There will always be piles to sort through (if it's anything like my house!!). Enjoy yourself! Your dinner sounds great. I LOVE chinese food. I wish it was more core-able. Of course Vickie's chicken fried rice is a super good substitute.

I'm getting off of here to vacuum. There is a nice film of dog hair over our carpet.
Oh, I forgot to tell you guys that I finally ordered my birthday camera. I got a canon powershot pro1. I'm so excited, and can't wait for it to get here. But of course I am too cheap to pay any more than necessary for shipping, so it will be at least a week.

Melissa, I hope you'll treat us to some more cool pictures when your camera arrives. I hate high shipping charges too. I only order from Amazon when I can get free shipping. I'm really getting off now. Have a great day. It's a trifle too cold here. We had to put the heat on a bit.

Enjoy the cooler weather, you guys! We're still in the low 90s but it seems pretty mild.

Melissa, that's great about the camera! I'm looking forward to more pictures too!

Vickie, I wouldn't necessarily say I would root for the Astros. Picture this: what if the Rangers and Cubs were in the World Series? (Okay, stop laughing ... it's just a "what if" thing!!) You don't like the Cubs but would you be for them because they were a local team? I'm still an American League girl, so I think it would be White Sox for me if it came down to White Sox and Astros. I would definitely be for White Sox if it were WS and Cards, although I read a very cute thing last night about the Molina brothers' mom back in Puerto Rico. She said if all three boys ended up in the World Series (two from the Angels and one from the Cards) she would have to be for Yadier because he's the only one who doesn't have a ring. Angels won in 2002 and both Bengie and Jose were on the team then. I thought that was pretty funny. She said they're all jealous of each other.

Just got the word that we're closing down, so I have to go! Be home in a little while!

Thanks guys. I look forward to sharing pics. You can always visit my website at www.melissaaustin.com where I have a blog and more pictures posted. I haven't updated it recently but will try to get my webmaster (um...DH ) to add some more pictures soon. I told him yesterday that I may never make money doing this but I enjoy it.

Kathy, glad you are going home. I can't believe you guys are still in the 90's!!!

kathy, we watch trading spouses and love it. (you know we're the reality show fanatics) they have already had one show this season. i like the way they put clashing families together. sure makes it interesting. i can almost smell that burger up here. i would prob have gone to sonic, too.

frouf, i hope you get your new jacket. i'm now needing slacks for our trip. i'm getting excited about shopping.

vickie, i sure do hope the sox put it away today and can move on to the world series. i understand your feelings about the bad officiating. the sox are definitely the better team and would win regardless. okay, let's take this championship today and move on to the world series.

do you think our not getting out much has to do with being retired? i mean--we always have time to do things so it's much easier to keep "putting off." i've been on the phone all morning trying to reach a friend to make a date for all of us to go to applebees tomorrow night for her birthday. if she and her hubby can go, that will fill our whole week. this is a huge change for us.

melissa, we'll be watching for photos. you're going to love your new camera. i am impressed you're already home from church. we just finished breakfast. sure are lazy, aren't we?

today's the last day of archery season so we'll prob go out this afternoon. rifle season starts in a week. we don't like to go for walks in the woods when that's going on. there are wayyyyyy too many hunters out there.

vickie, thanks for posting the soup recipe. i'll check it out.

have a stupendous sunday, everyone.

Sandra, I can't explain the other days but our problem lately is all we can think about is baseball! Everything revolves around getting our stuff done before the game. We're not lazy (you, me, Curtis and Jim)!!!!! That's what retirement is all about. I saw don't feel guilty. This is what we worked for all those years.

I think we've had a Wife Swap show on this year, but Trading Spouses (here) starts Nov. 2. I think it's because of baseball being on Fox in this area. But holy smoke, you should see that lady screeching! It's like she's possessed or something!

Frouf, I think I saw that show you're talking about with SuperNanny and the 9 year old. Were they back in the UK? I think the family's name was Cooke and they had 3 girls. On this one, I thought this little girl was going to start throwing furniture in the "reflection room" (AKA dining room). I think the poor little thing might need therapy and perhaps some anti-aggression medicine. She was way beyond the point where discipline was going to help.

I just realized I said "I think" 5 times. Geez.

I think I should either find another phrase, or stop thinking so much.
