Thanks for the wishes!

Are any of you chicks having a gas shortage where you are? We have had terrible problems. In most areas there will be only one station with gas, and folks are lined up for a mile in both directions. The projection is that it will stay that way until sometime next week, so people are in a panic. I had to get up at 5:30 this morning to go fill up. When I came home after the game last night, only one station actually had fuel, and of course there was a line so I did not stop. DH goes to work at 5:30, so he was on gas patrol this morning. He called, and said a local station had gas and there was no line! DS and I got up and went. By the time we got there, there was a line of about 5 cars in each direction! The news is reporting fights, people running out on the road, and also running out while waiting in line for gas! It is really thought provoking! We have got to change the way we fuel our vehicles!! Oh well, enough ranting. Let me know how things are going for you.

BBL, and I promise to be nice!!!!

Good Morning Chicks!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SLOAN! Welcome to the 50's. I'm 2 years in. It's been a little rough but I know it is so much better than if I hadn't been trying to lose weight and be healthy.

I've got the tiler coming today to fix a couple of grout lines and to "dehaze" my tile on my backsplash. He'll be here at 9:00 so I gotta run.

HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY SLOAN and have many many more.

Hi Ladies

Nothing new, except its a cold:br: cold up here on the Cape this morning. We have to put the fireplace on to get the chill out of the house.

Going to do some some shopping at Wal-Mart and than get some groceries, that I need for days dinner. Well today is the second day that I'm keeping grain carbs to a minimum and I'm down[1/2 lb] will go on the scale this Tues and see if theres a change.

SANDRA-Big congrats for you and Curtis from restraining and have on those fried foods. Its hard to do,especially when you hungry and those smells in the air come and grab yu.

PAULA-You're another one that stopped the temping foods. We should be proud of each other accomplishments,Wish you guys were at my WW meeting,we could tell the flexies that the core program is working.I find it hard to resist unhealthy foods when the weather get cooler. It possible that we yearn for comfort foods when it that time of year.

SLOAN-Have a wonderful day with your family, but sorry to hear you have to attend your friend's dad funeral.Thats a bummer.Hope you will make the best of it. Sending good thoughts and prayers out your way.

No I don't think so, as we went to the gas station the other day and they did have gas.the prices are lower and that make people happy for a while anyway.

COCO-Yikes about your DH's toe that must be very painful.Hope you both have a good time at the auto show, I remember Leo & my first date was a the auto show but that was many moons ago.

VICKIE- Have a nice day, even it just the tilers coming over and fixing the backsplash.

Have a great morning

Hugs

Happy Birthday Slaon!!! Hope it was a great day.

MaryAnn, cold here too. DH went to light the woodstove to get the chill out as well. BUT, it didn't draft right and the living room was filled with smoke. Hopefully it warms up a bit so I can open the house and get the smell out. UGH.

Vickie, hope the backsplash gets fixed. We need to get our sink fixed. Had it made out of soapstone when we did the kitchen over back in 1999. Well, we've had issues with it leaking. Its due to the angle of the sink and the stone. I've given up on having it repaired, we need to go pick out a stone that will match that will work better and have a new one made.

I'm having some me time today. DDs friend is in her gymnastics class this morning. I'm carpooling with her mom -- her friend is coming over soon, then I'll take them to class at 11. Her mom is picking them up at noon and taking dd to her house for lunch and play. So, I should have 11 until 2 or 3 to myself. DH just left to go to him moms to fix the mower. Hmmm what to do! I'll think of something.

Had a great breakfast -- fried up some polenta and the toppped with fried eggs over easy. Some ff cheese on top of that. Very good. I did well yesterday - logged everything in on my online tools. So far, so good.

Great jobs, everyone!

I'm going to a tupperware party when the tiler leaves. I really don't need anything or have money to spend on that stuff but I'm going to be social.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SLOAN!!

Maryann, I was at Walmart this morning but didn't see you. On the way home I drove through about 6 miles of Antique Alley. It took me about 20 minutes to go those 6 miles cuz of traffic.

Did I tell ya'll that Antique Alley had a clown yesterday? It was a lady working one of the booths. I also think I forgot to mention funnel cakes, Philly Steak Sandwiches, and I can't tell you how many booths of BBQ. Right now I have Sticky Chicken baking. It smells heavenly. I'm glad I'm having it than any of those items at Antique Alley.

It's warm here today. We're in shorts. I planted 100 onion plants and some strawberries today in my new "old" wheelbarrow and red wagon. I also set out some mums and 4 solar lights. Now I'm waiting on darkness to see how my lights look. They had flowerbeds at the RV park in Montana that had "critters", wheelbarrows, solar lights, birdbaths, and about anything else you can think of in them. So now I'm being a copycat. Life is good.

Sandra, congratulations on staying away from that great food. Will you come "do" my yard? I stink at that.

Vickie, I'd be happy to, but I doubt I'll ever finish here. Almost everything I planted last fall then transplanted to the hill around the pond is going to have to be transplanted again. I think the way to go is mainly raised beds. I have to tell you--today I sat in a yard chair in the shade while planting things in the wheelbarrow and red wagon. When I was finished, I moved them where I wanted them. Now it doesn't get any better than that. I am feeling spoiled.

The mums I set out today I just left in their pots. They'll only last 2 or 3 months anyway.

Okay now for my food challenge. We have a 3D tournament tomorrow. That means a snack while walking/shooting the course then possibly a BBQ afterwards. Please send me some . I need them.

A papa redbird just tried to scare off the solar light that's hanging next to the birdbath feeder that's in the bed. What a hoot! Now mama's there and it's not bothering her at all. Maybe he'll come back.

Good Morning Chicks! I had a great night sleep and it's a pretty day here. What more can one ask for besides our health?

I'm making the sticky chicken today. I hope it's good. I hope it's not too salty for the day before weigh in. I'll be drinking a lot of water. I'm going to cook the water chestnuts and the pea pods in with the brown rice that I'll make with chicken broth. I'll be adding some crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce, cornstarch, and broiling for a couple of minutes at the end. I think I'll bake it for a little less time since I'm doing thighs. I hate to be excited about food but I am. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Jim and I are going to have pj day today. I'm tired.

I bought a birthday gift for my sister yesterday at the tupperware party. I also bought a cool bowl with a cover for when I take Core dishes/salads to parties. I never have anything that looks pretty with a good cover that won't spill in the car. They have something now. Check this out! http://order.tupperware.com/pls/htpr...r=P10055665000

I'll be back later to check on all of you.

Hi girls! Been very busy here. Cleaning, cooking, shopping and now it's time to rest.

Happy Belated Birthday Sloan! Hope you had a great birthday. Wow, the big one! I'll be there in a little over 3 years. We haven't had any problems getting gas here. It's starting to get a little lower, although it was lower than it is now a few weeks ago, then it jumped up about 60 cents per gallon. It's since gone down about 20 cents. I'm hoping it's going to go down more.

Vickie, that tupperware bowl looks really cool! They really have come a long way from when they first started. I have some older stuff. I haven't been to a tupperware parties in years!

Hi to all that I didn't personally write to. I am just going to sit and watch a movie and relax for awhile.
Talk to you all soon!

Hi All:

We're back after a successful trip to Michigan. (Donna, we were in Rives Junction at a relative's home on a private air strip.) Our only problem was an unpleasant encounter with someone who thought it was her job to tell me how horrible I am for holding the views I hold on a particularly sensitive topic. She asked me; I told her. My view is: don't ask me what I think if you aren't big enough to hear my answer. Anyway, she was just one unpleasant aspect to an othewise enjoyable event.

This was a "fly in" where pilots bring their personal planes to a big family party/bar-b-que. I was NOT core: I was bad but I've reformed starting now. It will only take a month to undo 3 days' damage

Sloan. The fifties are great; 60's even greater!

I'm proud of you Sandra for avoiding all that fried food!

Coco: ouch!

We didn't see any gasoline problems on our trip. You wouldn't think there were any problems anywhere with all the cars on the roads. Scarey.

Maryann, don't be tough on yourself. Just do your best as often as you can and keep on truckin'

I'm headed to the recliner to catch up on the newspaper reading.
