Hi Chickies! I've been so busy that I haven't had a lot of time to get online. Been doing a lot of stuff to get my dad's military benefits started. Seen his lawyer a few times, a financial advisor and a banker.
We're about done with it all. I'm so glad.
I didn't make ww this week to wi, but I will make the meeting next week. That will give me a chance to get my weight down.
I've been eating pretty good the last couple of days, but I need to keep it up. Last weekend was not good. I need to cook up some core food so I have things on hand for lunches and snacks. I ran out of my pancakes so I need to make more of them this weekend. I have been eating shredded wheat and ff milk topped with raspberries for breakfast, but I miss my pancakes.
My lunches have been pretty good, salad and soup or salad and chicken salad or tuna salad in 1/2 ww pita. But I'm getting tired of that too. If I can get some cooking in, I can lunches that I enjoy more.
Well, got to go clean up dinner dishes.
Hi everyone. I've done very well today OP. I was at an off site session today and for lunch I went with the Salad bar with all veggies and grilled chicken. Then passed on the cookies and had a fruit cup. I also had some carrots and an apple in the car for the ride home. Didn't need my mystery lunch - I had forgotten I was not in the office today and lunch was provided.
Not much else going on here -- getting ready for a quiet night. To curb my snacking I'm making a new thing -- going to make pumpkin pudding using plain yogurt instead of ff milk. Should be just as good, I hope. I'll let you know how it comes out (I have a big container of yogurt I bought and my milk is running low!)
Up early as Leo was up getting the car repaired. It has something to do with the tires.
My should is still bothering me,as the weather is changing again this morning when I got up it was 44 %.
Going to try something new with my core plan,[[[first]]] of all I'm going to go back to low carbing than [[[second]]] I'm going to count points again to see if I having enough calorie intake or is it too much.
CHER-Have the Wendie Plan in mind if this little trick doesn't work. Thanks for bring it to my attention.
SANDRA-I let you know, once I fine my free coupon that I won at the senior center.
TRACIE-Your post almost sounds like what I posted yesterday.I had a bad week at the hospital for two days and couldn't beat right either. Luckily my car was out of commission and I had the excuse not to to to my meeting for a W-I. Heres to a better week for you & me.
RHONDA-It sometimes get discouraging, but I'm not going to give up.I tried the cleansing for the colon, that I mentioned to Sandra and it didn't work. They advertised that you could lost 10-lb with all the sticky stuff in the colon walls. Stupid me for believing them.Next thing I going to try is the Wendie Plan that Cher mentioned I should try.Have a great time and we'll see you soon.
Gosh a lot of posts since lunch time Wed. Well, my sinus issues turned into a migraine and I crawled into bed on Wed and slept all afternoon, then woke with that fuzzy feeling and didn't want to do anything, so I sewed all evening and then made dinner and vegged in front of the tv. Unfortunately unless wine really is a fruit, I went way over on my points. Yesterday I was way off core . Hopefully today will be better.
The next few days will probably be busy. Today I have ww, I'll ride my bike there and then run some errands. Then I'm going to can tomatillo salsa, and spaghetti sauce. Tomorrow, I think we'll pull out the garden, and seam seal the tent and put away the camping gear. Then I'm going to make a nice dinner for our anniversary which is Monday. Sunday we have church, lunch, then we're thinking we'll go to the Detroit Art Museum, then my parents are taking us out to dinner for our b-days (dh's was in mid-Aug, mine's mid-Oct). Anyway I may not stop in until Monday, we'll see.
On a good note: The scale says I lost 2.6 lbs this week
Rhonda - Have a safe trip to my neck of the woods.
Sandra - on getting back on program. Those shakes/smoothies sound good.....
Vicki - glad you got the scale working and it was only batteries.
Rhonda - You did really well at lunch To prevent mystery food I've started writing on the containers w/dry-erase markers, it rubs off some if you move the stuff to much, but I could still make it out enough.
Maryann - Hope your shoulder feels better, definitely try a massage, you'll be surprised by how much they can help. Glad Leo's feeling better. DH's port will have about a month to heal before they use it.
Sloan - I haven't made a sweater since high school, although I've been looking at patterns lately, that'll be next. Hope you can relax this weekend.
Tracie -
Well, I should get moving if I'm going to make WW. Have a great day everyone.
Mary Ann, I am a breast cancer survivor (2 1/2 yrs) I used a port and am so glad that I did. It was a little bit uncomfortable once in a while, but I'm so glad that I had it. It was so much easier. My first treatment was fairly tender, but it was much easier after that.
You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. The progress they are making in cancer treatment is amazing.
MaryAnn - I forgot when I posted earlier to mention that I am often loosing and gaining the same few pounds. What I figure is that at least I feel better because I eat better and exercise more, and I am not going in the other direction which I was at a slow but steady rate. I also am a serious stress eater and with all the stuff going on I'll be happy to enter the new year at the same weight as last year. I know you're also going thru a lot w/Leo so take it easy on yourself. As long as you keep taking care of yourself, you'll be able to help him and in the long run be a happier healthier person.
DONNA-Sorry about your migraine, I had them when I started menopause but now I don't seem to get them anymore. I'm going to see if I can manage riding my stationary bike,Leo is using it again and told me just pedal with your feet and when my should is better I can starting rowing action. Big congrats on your 2.6 weight loss you're doing terrific. I'm going to see if I can find the coupon and see which massage place send it to me. I hear from a lot of people on other boards saying the same thing about exercising more and using weights for weight training.Once this arm completed heals I start using my weights are on the floor collecting dust.
PATTY-Congrats on being a breast cancer survivor for 2 1/2 year. Leo was a survivor for 2 year when the lung cancer recurred. Now it the second time around and he needed a port as this poor veins disappeared in this arms. Thanks for telling me about the port being uncomfortable at the beginning, this way I know what to expect. Our chemo doctor is very informative so we'll ask questions along the way.and thanks for your prayers& thoughts we really appreciate them.
Tracie, I just posted a recipe that I think you had originally posted on another board. It looks good.
Rhonda, we will definitely trip down the alley. Curtis and I got out around 8:30 this AM before the crowds. It was a hoot:
At Antique Alley they had fried Twinkies, fried Snickers, fried Oreos, fried pickles--BBQ, homemade ice cream--and I don't know what else. Kudos to Curtis and me. We didn't eat a thing and came home for lo Core spaghetti.
We did buy a few bargains. Curtis bought 3 bows to add to our collection, and I got some goodies to place in flowerbeds when we do our landscaping. I got a cute little guy who's about 3 ft tall and will hold a waterhose. I got an old red wagon and an even older wheelbarrow. I also got a cute birdhouse on a post and a freestanding birdhouse. I also got some tired feet but I didn't have to pay for them except with pain.
Rhonda, have a fun, safe trip. I got an e yesterday from the momma of the cuz's. She's done a great job lowering her cholesterol. hmmmmmmmm....wonder what mine is?
Donna, I'm glad you're feeling better. I just had another peach smoothie. This time i added a banana that wasn't frozen. Yummy!
Hi everyone. Just wanted to pat myself on the back. I brought my salsa chicken and apple for lunch today. I had a meeting from 12-4 that had lunch. It was this very delicous pizza - smelled wonderful. Then someone brought home made brownies. The room smelled like chocolate. Well, I heated up my chicken and had that and my apple. Drank tons of water and passed the brownies down! I'm thrilled. WW spagetti and core sauce is dinner tonight.
Tech - congrats on the 2.6 loss! Great job and keep up the riding.
Sandra -- you and Curtis did great today! Your purchases sound great and you skipped all those tempting foods. WOO HOO for us all!
Hey y'all-another busy day! This weekend has suddenly gotten busy, too. I'm having lunch for my b-day (the big 5-0) with my sister and my cousins tomorrow after which I will go to the funeral home for visitation for my good friend's dh. He has been sick for a long time, so his passing is a blessing but sad none the less. Then on Sunday is his celebration of life service, so I won't have had a quiet day this week. Yesterday was way off core. I called it my "eat whatever you want day". Today, I'm back on the wagon, and tomorrow won't be too hard because lunch is at a place where I can order a nice salad. I'm sorry I can't speak to you chicks individually, cause I've got to go work the gate at our football game. Go Bucs!!!!
Hi Everyone
Hope everyone is having a great day.
Not much happening here.
Had to take hubby to the DR today. He had a ingrown toe nail. So took him to the regular Dr. Said she was afraid to do anything with it. So she sent us right to the foot Dr. They numbed it and took a big piece out. And then the put some kind of stuff on it. So the nail wont grown back. He has had trouble with this toe before. So the Dr thought it would be best to do this. Because each time it got ingrown. It was worse. So hope this helps.
Think we may go to a car show this weekend. If hubby feels like walking. It is not far from our house.
Well I need to go and catch up with everyone. I need to get on here and catch up first. Then post.
I hope everyone is doing ok.
And that everyone has a wonderful evening.
Thinking of each of you.
