Poor Rhonda. I actually had a great sleep last night. I'm so thankful for those nights when they happen. I do seem to sleep better when I have my hot vanilla milk before I go to bed. Even if it's placebo.....it works.

I've got a quiet day planned today. I will walk on the treadmill. I should go shop for a mirror but I don't know if I will. I may leave that for tomorrow and give myself a break today. Except for the treadmill. No break there.

Thank you all for your advice on the core program

I'm starting to feel a little bit better about core. I like it better than flex...

Have a great day everyone!

Is anyone else doing the biggest looser challenge?

Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Well I didn't get my ride in, my sinuses started to bother me and I just didn't leave the house . They're not much better today either, but I did make it to the park and met my folks to walk, my dog is now passed out on the floor behind me (my dad walks faster and walks him and wears him out). I'm just taking a quick break before I go make lunch.

Vicki - Bed, Bath & Beyond is a good place to get a scale too. That's where ours came from I think they had WW ones too. And I don't know about your area, but here we constantly get 20% off coupons. Which I think we probably used.

Sandra - Thanks for joining me on the menu thread, I was beginning to feel like I was talking to myself. Not a big deal tho. Welcome back on the wagon

Barbi - Congratulations.

Patty - Glad you feel like you're getting the hang of it. I don't do challenges, I loose too slow and just end up getting discouraged, so my goals tend to be behavior modifications.

Sammi - Go Huskies (just kidding). I live in Dearborn now, I like the conveniences of the city, although I do miss being able to just go out into the woods.

Coco - Last camping trip for me for the summer too. Glad you like the new leader.

Sloan - My class starts a week from Saturday, I'm pretty excited, we will be using DP needles. The original class that filled up started last Thurs which is why I'm signed up so early.

Rhonda - It always works that way for me too. I'm not sleeping well right now either, I think it's because the dog is a bed hog, not sure how the 70 lb dog takes up more space than my 200+ lb husband....

Well, time to go make lunch.

Have a great day everyone.

-Tech

Barbi....OUTSTANDING!!!! You must have been true to Core this week.

Thanks, Donna. I'm buying batteries for my old one to see if that will revive it. If it doesn't work, I'm going to head off to Linen and Things and BBB.

Hey y'all! Hope you chicks are having a great day! I finally received the Richard Simmons 30 minute dvd this week, and in my usual fashion, it is still in the plastic wrapper. I plan to try it this weekend for sure. I've got too much going on this week! Seeing a patient today, sitting with a friend who had surgery on Thursday, and working at the football game on Friday night. I really hate to be busy every day after school. It makes the weekend so hectic!

Tech-keep me posted on those socks. I'm working on a sweater for myself right now. Our local Hobby Lobby has awesome yarn sales, and I bought enough yarn for my sweater for $12.00. When I finish it, I'll try to post a picture of it.

Patty-hang in there with the core plan. It does take a while to get your head around it. You'll find it gets easier as you go along. I never thought I could lose weight without weighing and measuring my food, but I've lost 18 pounds so far. I'm getting close to goal, so the weight is coming off slowly, never the less, it's coming off.

Barbi- 6 pounds! Did you do that in one week? That's awesome!

Vickie-good for you! I'd probably talk myself out of walking on the treadmill and have a quiet day! You go girl!!

Sammi- on the loss. Keep it up and you'll be to goal in no time!

Rhonda-Have you tried melatonin? I have not, but I have some friends that have, and they swear by it. Sorry about your sleep!!

Sandra-Only one pound? That's great! I'm enjoying the smoothies that I have been making. You inspired me to try peach!

I've got to go get ready for my hectic afternoon. After I visit my patient I'll still have about two hours of paperwork to do. Glad I put something in the crock pot this morning! TTFN

Rhonda, did you get a nap?

Hi Ladies

I'm back from the Hospital 2 day ordeal

On Tuesday we had a regular 1/2 hr. treatment so we thought, but it turned out to be another 4 hours. While in the treatment room, the area where they put the port in was very sensitive and the nursers didn't want to aggravate the area,so they finished the treatment with a supervisor finding a vein.

The supervisor called the radiation dept for an appointment to put dye in his veins to see if the port was in the right position and that it hadn't moved. All is ok and now Leo has to heal for next Wed treatment.

As for me my shoulder is still bothering me,called the orthopedic doctor and hes not taking any new patients until 10/9 and when I called my reg doctor I found hes on vacation until the 28 of this month. I'm nursing it myself by not lifting or stretching. Putting ice packs on it and using Alieve. So far the pain seems to be sub siding.

So thats what we were up to the last couple of days.

Thanks Ladies for all your well wishes for me & for Leo.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

SLOAN-I had this rotary cuff 5 years ago,and I do remember some of the exercise that I learned from PT.Thank goodness it doesn't hurt as bad as it did the first time I had it I had 2 cortisone shots at that time also. Hope it goes away with just resting the shoulder.

VICKIE-Need the meeting also, but instead of weighing in tomorrow I might go on Saturday instead. Had two bad eating days at the hospital now I have to rectify what I did. Thanks for the well wishes my shoulder isn't as bad as it was 5 years ago. Don't think I need a cortisone this time around,at least I don't think so.

RHONDA-Sending you good vibes for a good wi .Meeting and hospital don't mix when it come to good core foods.Your right to much BREAD.

SAMMI-You're doing great with that 1.5 loss hope it will be more by the time you go to your next meeting.

BARBI-BIG BIG CONGRATS on your 6.6 lb loss. You're doing terrific on this plan, keep it going.

PATTI-I'm not going on the challenge but I watched the family contestants of the Biggest Loser last night and its was scary after the doctor talked to a few of them about fat in the heart & lung area.

DONNA-

I think I'm going to do flex the next couple of weeks (while still trying to stick to core foods) since I'll be at the hospital/on the road a lot.
I think I should have done that go on the flex it would have been better in the long run.

Maryann, you've really had a time of it, haven't you? I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Thanks for the well wishes

Maryann, it sounds like poor Leo is having to go through what my GF did with the port and all. Once they got her set it worked like a dream. I'm praying for both of you.

Rhonda, I had one of those sleepless nights Monday. I think I was wired from getting back home. I hope you can stay awake today--and that you get some rest tonight.

Vickie, kudos, friend, for You are clicking right along. I did last night and am going to do it again in a few minutes.

Barbi, I just fainted. I am so happy for you. Six big ones gone to Heaven and they won't be coming back.

Patty, I'm not doing the BL challenge, but I'm a devoted follower of the show.

Donna, I'm glad to be with you on the menu thread. Thank you for starting it. I like the idea of making it a weekly thread.

Sloan, I remember my busy days when I was teaching. Be sure to take time to hug yourself. I just had another peach smoothie. Yummy!

Maryann, have you considered going for a massage? That might help you. I hope Leo is doing all right. Bless his heart. You are both in my prayers.

I am Day 2 on Core and am doing well. I did a lot of Core cooking yesterday and am going to do some more in a few minutes.

I got some hypnosis CD's today to help me with my mental game while competing. I'm anxious to get them out of the wrapper and start listening.

Vickie, I'm glad you got your scales up and running. Curtis began weighing here at home this morning. Yesterday when I rejoined, they accidentally gave me materials for new members. After I filled out one page, they saw that I needed Lifetime papers. They told me to keep the "wrong" materials because my name was on them, so I wound up with an extra weigh in journal. I gave it to Curtis. He's going to wi at home and keep records. I hope he's able to lose. If not, he'll go back to ww with me.

Hi everyone. I've had no time to read the many, many posts! Its great that the board is so busy. I'm looking forward to reading everything and getting caught up tonight. We had our ww at work session today. I'm ready to start! Unfortunatly, it was just a registration session, no wi. Our first wi will be next week. I'm dissapointed in that. I debated with myself all day -- do I just start now or enjoy one week of non core things. Well, decided I've had enough time with non core things.

So, I did update my weight on ww on line with what I weighed this morning dressed. I always had weighed myself before work - my scale was always very close to ww. Thats my starting point - the first wi next week I'll look at as my second.

Got to run, be back later tonight.

Oh, I'm also going to update my ticker as well.

Good girl, Paula for starting now.

Sandra, what's in your peach smoothie? I'm always looking for new variations. Good Luck to Curtis. I haven't been on the treadmill yet but there is still time. The guys came unexpectedly to close the pool. I'm glad because it was a horrible waste of electricity to keep the filter running when we had no prayer of swimming. I'm so happy I spent those last 3 hours in the pool. Bye bye pool until next June. Such a short season here.

Paula, I am proud of you. It would have been very very easy to take a week off.

Vickie, I make my smoothie like this:

1 cup ff milk
2 tablespoons sf/ff instant vanilla pudding mix (dry)
3 pkts Splenda
about 8 or 10 slices of frozen peach

Then I just blend it.

Wow, what a lot to read up on!!

Vickie - congrats on keeping up on the treadmill. Don't let this one week get you down, if you keep on program and keep up the walking, the scale will move. Glad you got new batteries in your scale -- $9 is cheaper than a new one!

Barbi - congrats on the 6 pd loss! Is that just from a week? Courious minds.....

MaryAnn - I hope the port is all set for Leo. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I've also been having problems with my shoulders - I get bouts of bursitis. Thankfully its fine now, but for about a month over the summer it was not fun. Let us know how the dr appt goes.

Sandra - glad you made it home safe. 1 pd for your trip away I don't think is too bad. Glad you are back on program. I paid today -- its for a 17 week program. Somehow for me, spending the $$ keeps me more honest.

Coco - congrats on your loss also! Keep it up!

Slaon - glad to hear cutting back the carbs is helping. I always seem to do better when I do that. I try to eat eggs or cottage cheese with fruit in the am, then either dinner or lunch is a salad with a protein. Then with the other meal I'll have a grain or potato.

Sammi - congrats on your loss as well. All these losers here are inspiring!!

I pulled out "mystery Lunch" from the freezer. Not quiet sure what it is -- either chicken cattcciatore, salsa chicken or chicken, barley and sweet potato soup. I couldn't tell out of the freezer. Should make lunch an adventure.

Got to get DD to bed - she is fast asleep on the couch. She had dance after school today. Then I'll have a nice quiet night. See you all tomorrow.
