  • Good Afternoon Ladies!

Donna & Sandra - Thanks for your encouragement I'm starting to get out of my funk. I did some journalling yesterday and came to some truths about my 'relationship' with food .. basic conclusion is that I can't look at losing weight as deprivation but as being disciplined.

Barbi - Good Luck on your Weigh-In today

Vickie - I too do not like my scale (it's digital & it "over weighs a % ie. the heavier you are the more it's off" ... hmmm ... maybe it's the battery????), but anyways, I'm saving up for the Weight Watcher's scale. My sister has one & loves it. They're a bit pricy but I think it's worth the loss of aggravation.

    Stay strong!
  • Thanks, Cher. Do you know which model she has?
  • Hello All,

Not much going on here, it's just me and the dogs (and cat) this week since DH is out of town for a training class. After all the rain last week I need to mow the grass. Maybe tomorrow after I get home from meeting my folks at the park to walk. I still want to get in a bike ride today. Provided my seat has dried out after 3 days on the car in the rain (the first day it was covered tho).

Vicki - Lots of rain here too. I talked to my mom after posting yesterday and she said the water is over the dock (they live on a lake). Take care of yourself, hope the exercise helps you feel better, much as I hate it, it usually helps me. We have a Conair - Thinner it seems to keep pretty good track it also does % body fat and % H2O which are interesting to track.

Sandra - Glad you're home safe and sound. Good luck getting that exercise regime planned out.

Rhonda - to you to .

Paula - Wine's not a fruit? Uh Oh! (jk)

Patty - Welcome and I agree with everyone else start with measuring and when you get the feel of how you feel when satisfied you can ease off. I was lucky, portions are not my problem, I just tend to choose the high calorie/low volume foods which are not available on core except as WPA.

Cher - Glad you're feeling better, figuring out my relationship with food is an ongoing problem.

Maryanne - Glad Leo's procedure went well. Take care of yourself and that shoulder. I think I'm going to do flex the next couple of weeks (while still trying to stick to core foods) since I'll be at the hospital/on the road a lot. But this week I'm doing the best I can.

Sammi - The best part about passing NMU campus was that we were under a 100 miles to Tech Do you cross country ski? That's something I miss about living up there, we don't get enough snow here any more.

Bambi - I used to bike when I was younger (and thinner), and when I started again about 3 years ago, I started slow. I remember feeling like a 3 mile ride would kill me. I was doing better last year but the stress/depression/..... have limited my riding this year so I've taken a step back, but at least I haven't stopped. I love camping, although one of the first things I want when I go back to work and we have $ is a trailer, I'm tired of sleeping on the ground.

Well, if I'm going to get a ride in I should get moving. Have a great evening everyone.

  • Hi
Just thought I would check in for a few.
    Not much happening here.
Had some errends to run this morn and early afternoon.
Then came home and havent done much of anything.
I went to WW yesterday afternoon. I kinda like the leader for the afternoon class. I heard her a couple of other times. And she seems really nice.
Oh I did lose a pound.
TECHALUM Sorry you didnt have a good camping trip. We dont tent camp anymore. Hubby cant do that. But son has a camper and he takes us now. And makes it really nice with the camper. Our camping for the summer is over. Cant wait till next year to go again.
Well ladies I am going to get off here. The guys had to go to Lowes for something. Some kind of pipe or something. And I want to read some before they get back and start wanting stuff.
    Thinking of each of you.
    Have a wonderful evening.

  • Hey Coco! Nice job getting back on program GF.

Donna, hope you had a great ride and that you are enjoying your solitude. I'd hate it. That's the kind of girl I am.
  • Hello Vickie .... I just called my sister - s.o.r.r.y. but she doesn't have a WW scale! (& oops, she's never had one!) LOL

but, she did tell me that Wal-Mart has one on sale this week for $39 - check it out & let me know if you do get one!
  • Thanks....I will! Darn it. I was just there yesterday and didn't think to look.
  • Just clarifying something: wine IS a fruit!
  • Hey chickies! I've been busy and haven't had time to post, but I've been keeping up with y'all. I'm staying op, but the losing is still slow. I'm keeping to one starch carb per day. The funny thing is I don't even crave those starches anymore! It makes planning breakfast and lunch a little harder, but I don't miss the taste. I do have to confess to craving chocolate chip cookies every now and then, though.

Paula and Rhonda-I think we should start a petition to have ww international make wine a fruit

Sandra-Glad you got home safely. Oh yea, I think you are great

Maryann-glad to hear about Leo. I can identify with you on the shoulder thing. I injured mine in December and after two steroid injections and a month of physical therapy, I think I can tough it out. Don't push it, but if you could do some PT, it would help you maintain strength in your shoulder muscles .

Tech-I am a sock knitter! Have you taken your class yet? I knit toe up and top down. I don't use double pointed needles, though. I use either the magic loop method or two circulars. I love it.

    Cher-journaling is a good idea

Vickie-I've been thinking of you and all that rain. I'm glad you are okay.

    Coco, Sammi, and Barbi

Hope you all have had a great evening. Stay core!!!
  • Vickie, that's a lot of rain. I'll bet you're right about the omelet and salsa. You should have a good loss next week.

Speaking of weight--I went to WW this AM. I had gained 1 lb on our trip to Montana. Now I thought that was amazing--sort of like a reprieve from the weightloss governor. I signed up for the monthly pass even though I'm a Lifetimer. I need the accountability of meetings.

Donna, I did 3 miles tonight while watching "Biggest Loser." Did you get to ride?

    Rhonda.

Sloan, you're doing great. I am about finished with DAY 1 Core and am feeling wonderful. I made a milkshake this afternoon. It was peachy.

Vickie, I have a WW scales but don't know much about it yet. I think I've stepped on it one time so far.
  • Thanks Sloan! We were blessed.
  • Good girl, Sandra! You know that you and I need the meetings. I'm trying to be good but I just ate 2 one point WW candies. I'm sorry to say they were delicious.
  • Good early morning:

It never fails: when I have to get up early, I can't sleep!

It's been a very busy week, and there is no let up in sight. I haven't been Core at all but trying to watch the calories. I just have lots of meetings and events with food and there is too much bread around. I'm trying to be careful, but that's it.

Hopefully, there won't be much damage done.

Coco and Donna: I've done a lot of camping and backpacking in my life, but not for years now. I'm through with sleeping on the ground also!

Now, I'm going to try (again) sleeping in my bed!

    Rhonda

  • Good morning ladies! This has been an amazing core week (even though I splurged on chocolate chip cookies yesterday I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm about a pound and a half down from Saturday. Hopefully I lose another pound and a half before the meeting this Saturday. My scale is different than at the meetings.. the one at home shows me at least 2 pounds heavier. Oh well, I'll go w/ the scale at the meetings

Donna- I'm not a Cross Country Skiier, though I think I may take that class next semester. I'm a snowboarder. Our football team is playing Tech tomorrow night and I have to work and miss the game! It will be on FSN and CBS though. What part of Michigan do you live in?

Have a happy core week everyone!
