Let's get those 2019 resolutions offer to an energetic start!
State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.
This thread is for fitness and exercise goals. For other weight loss goals, be sure to see our sister thread: January Weight Loss Challenge.
I was very lax at posting in December (mostly because my steps were so low it was embarrassing) so I'm aiming to be more consistent in January.
Yet again I'm going to aim for 7000 steps/day, plus a dance a day, which I've talked about on the December Weight Loss Challenge. I love doing it and it's great cardio but I need to make some space and to remember to do it before I'm all sleepy and on my way to bed...
My exercise goal for January 2019 is 600 minutes a month of intended exercise (for me, that means a structured workout such as on an exercise dvd or something on youtube). If I shovel snow, I count those minutes at half the rate.
Joy, HI! Happy New Year and Happy New Year to you all! A lot has happened, nothing bad, just crazy stuff and I want my life to be settled again. I realize how much it helps me and how much I enjoyed to be here with the chicks (actually I always realized that) and so I thought no time like the present! I started becoming inactive again (as is often the case with me this time of the year) and I know that is not an excuse but a fact for me and I want to change that!) My goal right now is to just start exercising again and doing my tapes and or whatever, walking etc. I am putting myself at a 120 minutes per week, not much I know but just starting again will thrill me and I know more will be to follow. Here is to a healthy start of the new year! Tytyty for being here so consistently for us! I am excited for my start.........wishing a wonderful and healthy and happy journey for us all in 2019! Wait! lol.....that is 120 minutes per week, so that is 480 minutes this month (120 minutes per week) sorry!
Hi Gardner, It's been a long time since I've joined your challenge but I'd like to commit this month. I have been struggling with my exercise during the winter months so this will help me. I will alternate walking with Exercise DVDs
Hi everyone
My goal is to workout 5 times a week for at least 30 mins.
1: 7375 steps (41 minutes) + 4 min cardio from 'A Dance A Day,' which today was The Cranberries - Promises.
I probably won't report what my dance(s) were every day because I'll end up dancing to some really naff songs and I'll be too embarrassed to post them!
I gave myself a stair-climbing challenge for the new year: how many flights of stairs can I climb in 5 minutes? We have a two-story house plus a basement, so that's two flights up that I count and two flights down that I don't count. Yesterday, the answer was 14 flights. I'm hoping to get more through the year. It was a good way to get my heart-rate up! I won't want to do that every day, but if I can manage 2 or 3 times a week, I'll probably improve.
January goal: 1100 minutes
1: 25 walk, 5 stairs (14 flights); 30/1100
