Hello, I'm new to the forum and the Belly Fat Cure. I've been doing ideal protein since September, and it has worked for me (I've lost 30 lbs and need to loose 20 more). I am just getting sooo bored with the plan and packaged food that I decided i needed a change. Anyway, I'm wondering if BFC will be affective for me coming off of IP? I really don't think there is that much sugar in the IP foods, and i know the foods i cooked and ate didn't have additional sugars. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

BFC is a great plan with lots of options and very easy to follow.
It is a low carb and sugar eating plan that fits well into just about anyones
life style. I will look up the numbers and get back with more details later tonight.

Is it a must to follow one of his weekly meal plans the first week? I'd like to just use the food list and create my own, but don't want to start off wrong. I'm planning to start tomorrow!!!

It works best if you follow BFC plan for the first couple of weeks, but if you choose from the plan follow guide lines. I am sure that you will see results either way you choose. It just that the menu for the first week is to jump start your weight loss. Good luck and stay positive and you will reach your goals.

Hi everyone. How is everyone doing? Anybody got the flu? I had an upper respiratory thing going on....just a head cold with sneezing, runny nose and coughing. I had 2 pretty bad days then I started to feel better. Not too bad. Overnight my throat started to hurt a little bit and I thought it was coming back but now that I'm up and had some hot coffee the throat feels better. Maybe I was breathing through my mouth because of the nasal congestion. I am trying to stay away from people so I don't get the flu. I didn't get the flu shot last year or this year. I think I used to get sick because of going out to work every day.

I made some homemade yogurt yesterday. It turned out pretty good for the first time. A woman on another board got me interested in it. I don't know if I will continue to do it. It is not hard, but it's an all day process. My husband thinks it silly since you can go into a store and buy a container of yogurt for $1, and I guess he's right. But I made plain yogurt that I can either add flavor to or use for other purposes such as yogurt cheese to use in place of sour cream or cream cheese. I'm going to experiment with this batch and then decide if it's worth my time and effort.

I also bought some Quinoa to try. I don't know if I will like it. I am getting into so many different things lately like the spaghetti squash that I've learned to love. I just get tired of eating the same old foods all the time. DH will not eat any of this healthy stuff. LOL

Have a good week everyone!

Hi Everyone,
Yes I have had the Flu and upper respiratory infection. It has been hanging around for weeks! Carol Sue good to hear from you, the home made yogart sounds good. I am so trying to get back on track and find it is harder than ever. I just don't know what it is that is holding me back. I know being sick is one thing, but its like I have NO energy to get things done. I hope this will go away soon. I am looking forward to spring and hope by then a fewq more pounds will be gone. Will I hope all is well with everyone, I guess you are much like everyone else. Still recovering from holidays, flu, colds, etc.
hang in there and take care.

Hugs to all
izzy

Well, two weeks down and 6 pounds down; until yesterday... We celebrated my son's 3rd birthday on Sunday, and of course I had 2 slices of his birthday cake. Other than the cake; however, i have followed the BFC plan to a tee. Well, yesterday my weight was up (like 7 pounds). This morning, I'm still up about 5 pounds. How does this happen? I didn't eat 7 pounds of cake. Just confusing how 1 day can affect weight so much. Any suggestions or advise?

Hi needtolose,

Whenever my weight jumps like that it's due to eating foods high in sodium like Chinese or Italian. I'm very sensitive to sodium and when I wake up I can tell how much water I'm retaining by seeing if my fingers are swelled!

I would double up on drinking water and perhaps take fiber tabs or eat more green leafy veggies for a day or two...

It's February, and no one is here! Yoo hoo! How is everyone doing? I am slowly recovering from my cold and feeling better. Trying so hard to get back to low carb. I need it for my blood sugar as well as my weight. And back to exercising too. I used my cold to avoid it for the month of January. Now I have no excuse!

This sounds very interesting. BFC is low carb compatible?

Oh Hi Rob, and welcome to this thread!

BFC is VERY low-carb compatible. All you need to remember is 15/6: you are allowed 15 grams of sugar daily along with six servings of healthy, unprocessed carbohydrates, with a serving being between five and 20 grams of carbs. Generally avoid fruits with the exception of berries, and avoid high-sugar veggies like beets, carrots, and peas.

That's why it's probably easier to abstain from sugar rather than try to moderate it. Have you ever tried to eat just one GS cookie? haha

You will lose a lot of weight in the first couple weeks, and if you stick with it the weight will continue to come off at a moderate rate. Men always lose faster, the rats!

You ought to try it for a month! :-) Read a Review...

Sounds really good, Andi. I think that I'm doing alot of that already. I'm still keeping my carbs under 20 grams a day, and my sugar intake is from 1 gram of sucralose. It makes sense, since I dropped 15 lbs since 1/2/13. Thanks for that link, I may have to purchase that book.

Arrow BFC SPRING Challenge

Needlenoose & Rob

Hello BFC Chicks, sorry I have been MIA. Had a little scare(TIA) just before Christmas and then had the Flu & upper respiratory infection. Now its time to rally and get back on track. Its so very important to get my weight down and cholesterol. Sorry I haven't been checking in, things just got alittle more than I could handle. But I am back and ready to start a SPRING BFC challenge. It will be here before you know it.

Here's the challenge:

1. Follow the BFC Plan
2. Post 1 new BFC Meal aweek to share with others.
3. Get 30 minutes of exercise 3 times aweek
4. Drink 8 Glasses of water a day
5. Take your vitamins
6. Post progress/input/ideas, etc. at least once a week.
7. Please offer feed back to "post" and encourage others
8. Drop 1 size by spring

If we keep things interesting, we are more likely to stick with it. We will weigh every Monday.

Hello Everyone
I see no one is visiting anymore, so maybe its time to end this thread. I myself have been so busy that I have not been visiting. I guess it is justthat time of the year. The challenge was a no go, so I just gave up on it. I am still trying to get back on track and bet these bat habits. I hope all is well and that everyone is busy losing those pounds. Take care

Hugs
Izzy
