Faux--- LOVELOVELOVE the new avatar!

WHy not set a date (as far as you need) for a 10k so you can get ready for whichever one works in your calendar? You can run 5ks and work on -- time, technique, whatever.. while training for that 10k?

a shortie 2 mile run this am-- done.

+1 today - power walked laps around the hospital parking lot while another family member sat with my MIL. Had to get out and move some... Hope to go home tonight and do a little on the elliptical, but not sure if it will happen or not.

I did my final half marathon of my running "season" on Sunday. Since it was only a week since my last one, I ran it purely as a training run, not for speed. I kept it nice and easy and just enjoyed the day. Still finished in a respectable 2:16, a time I would have KILLED for a few years ago!

I might do another 5K or two, but that was the last big event until next fall.
Here's my season recap -- since Oct 25:
-- Events: Five half marathons, one 10K, and three 5K’s
-- Records: New personal records for half-marathon and 10K
-- Loot: Nine T-shirts, one hat, 5 finishers medals and one age group trophy (10K)
-- Stats: 81 miles raced in approximately 12 hours and 58 minutes, at an average pace of a little over 9 ½ min miles
-- Calories burned and sense of accomplishment - Priceless!

MBN~ Awesome job on your season! You are an inspiration to all of us!!! I am seriously toying with the idea of doing a sprint tri at the end of July but really, really hate to exercise in the heat so we'll see....

I was away for a week so I couldn't post my mileage but did manage to get in some workouts. So, from 2/20-3/2, I got in 18.9 miles. Not great but not too shabby for vacation.

MBN - you rock!

+1 elliptical today

Hard weekend... at the hospital Saturday + DH's birthday yesterday + snow and cold last night and this morning + visiting MIL tonight = no running for a couple of days. Hope to get outside tomorrow.

3 something today...I have it all logged, someday when I am running "for real" again I'll update the ticker. It's just too depressing right now.

MBN congrats!!! You are an amazing runner!

Ennay - are you having the running blues?

As for me this will be my third day off. I'm overloaded with midterms and have been caged in a library for days on end. Lastnight I "slept" there aka took 15 minutes naps here and there and my back kills. I'm so exhausted from studying I'm going to sleep now and it's not even 8pm! Tomorrow will be another all night study party but I will hopefully run in the morning. I miss it so much

sm177 - I am having the NOT running blues. I tore my hamstring 6(?) weeks ago and although I havent gone through cancelling flight and hotel yet I am not going to Boston.

Gary - the kids are great. Samantha is about to lose her second tooth and Alex is talking talking talking and getting into everything.
