I'm pumped for this! It's pretty cold today but I'm still hoping to get in 6 miles.

JackieRN - my dad also has one of those watches and loves it! I think it's helped him improve his time.
He's an amazing runner, he does full marathons in 3 hours and does Boston and New York every year and he even goes to Europe to do marathons. I'm so proud of him, he's my inspiration for this challenge!

9 miles this morning. It was pouring and my rain jacket apparently is no longer waterproof. I am pretty sure if I had jumped in a swimming pool fully clothed I wouldnt have been any wetter.

3.3 miles down Mixing walking up hill and running. I used to be able to run straight for 3.1 miles.. but I have to work bac up to that.. Amazing what a couple of weeks off can do to your body.. either negativly or positivly.. lol

So I did my first run today, just 3.5 mile hill workout it was miserable it is so cold and its sleeting, only motivation was getting to move my ticker. Happy New Year everyone.

10 miles this morning. It was cold and I was weirdly dehydrated from my one and only drink last night, but I did those miles! Great way to start the new year.

Default I can do this!

I am really up for this! I was already shooting for 652+ miles on my bike, so if I can figure out how to convert my x-c ski minutes (around a small track in my pasture) into miles and add in other ski miles and hiking, I can do this! If you runners can pound the pavement for all those miles, I can certainly get them in while either rolling or by foot!
I skied this morning for 31 minutes so I'm started.

I'm in and doing the combined walk, treadmill, elliptical, bike for 1000. I've just started trying to run again on the treadmill but definitely can't run outside so will use the bike & hiking miles in the summer. What a great idea!

I started the year off with 4 miles on the treadmill.

Welcome everyone!!!!

5 miles today. Please note that this will be the first and last time in my whole entire life I will have more mileage than Jo in a challenge!!! (although she's probably knocking out another 10 miles as we speak!)

I wasn't quite ambitious enough to head out for a midnight run, even though that sounds like a fantastic idea. I did get out and run 3.7 miles during the day though. I was also able to try out my new Yak Trax as it's still a bit icy here. Those things are great! It was a little weird getting used to the feel of running with them on in general, but when I hit the icy patches I was excited to have them on. I'm not sure how nerdy that makes me to be excited about something like that - ha!

Happy New Year everyone!

Way to start the New Year, Jen!

Please note that this is the first and probably last time in my whole entire life that I have more miles in a challenge than Jenguin! I gotta seize my moment in the sun!

I admire your dedication to run in ice......brrr!!!! Are you planning on another marathon this year, Jen?

Yaktrax are great, I had the same excitement the first time I went out with mine. Its amazing how stable you feel on ice b/c looking at them they don't look like much but they work very well.
