  • Hi

Well I got in lots of water yesterday. Don't know exactly how much but must have been pretty close to the 64 oz I was aiming for. It Certainly got me up during the night - I was up at least three times to pee.

Tranquil - I love the color you have painted your den. I have the same color in my bedroom. I also have a border in green and lavender which really goes well with it. Yes I am getting excited about my trip. I am counting the days. I leave next Monday afternoon. Have quite a few things to do before the week is over, like preparing meals to leave for my ds, last minute shopping, etc. You mention a NEW sport. Did you mean badminton? I have been doing this for a couple of years now and I do enjoy it. It's more fun than doing regular exercise.

Quilter - Hope Paul arrived home safely. Glad the scale was a little kinder to you this morning. You are doing well but we all know that there will be fluctuations on the scale. Whenever I was losing it would always go up and down a few times before it decided to stay down. As long as you are eating right you know you will see results soon.

Ldblond - I think that is a good idea having a weekly sf yogurt dessert. Gives you something to look forward to and an incentive to keep off the junk food. We have to do whatever works.

Zanne - Sorry the scale was unkind to you this morning but sometimes we need that wake-up call to get us back on track. Good luck, you can do it.

Jack-K - I'm afraid coffee and tea do not count against the 64 ozs. Has to be water.

Deb - That would be wonderful if you could make a trip to Toronto. Would love to see you again and it would be great to have a sb get together. Zanne and I live close to each other but Gracious is miles away from us. She is in another province and probably at least a 12 hour drive from us (just guessing but she is a long way from Toronto).

Have to run. Have some shopping to do.

    Marie.
  • Happy Tuesday all.

I got a late start on the boards because I had DSL issues yesterday.

I hope to make it to chat tonight.

    Have a good day all

And thanks for the water reminders - I seem to forget that
  • QUICKIE POST

    Hello My Sugar Free Friends!!!

I gots me TWO big glasses of water here and I've no idea how many oz.s it is, but I am going to try to drink out of both of them twice today. Walked a little on my ankle last night and will go hit the big butt bike after work today. Hopefully it will be more gentle on my ankle than the walking. I'm so ready to get back to working out.

Things are very busy around here! I'm looking for a job closer to home and I had an interview on Friday with Nextel. Very cool position and company. They really take care of their employees (and I get a phone and blackberry ) BUT....I had a semi-phone interview on Thursday and the guy seemed really cool. When I met him in person on Friday he was really cool in an impersonal "I don't like you" sort of way. I am sad. Oh, well....

YELLOWROSE How are you doing? Swiss Kriss is an herbal laxative that is very gentle on the system. (Sorry for taking so long to get back with you on the answer)

BOB Could you hear me laughing all the way up here? If too many of 'em somehow make it, I could suggest some Mississippi towns.

FILLISE If you come to St. Pete and it's over a week-end when I don't have a "beauty pageant" with the princess I'll drive down to meet you! It's only about 2 hours from O-Town. PLEASE let me know! Below should be the link to the Greek Chicken recipe if you don't have it by now. It's on the SUGAR BUSTERS JAN/FEB/MAR/APR/MAY/JUNE 2001 RECIPE BOARDS if I screwed up the link. Very quick and easy to make!

    [URL=http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13439&highlight=greek+c hicken[/URL]

We had a horrible rain storm here last night and Meister had to take the princess out and you all know how much she hates to get her feet wet. Well, it was definitely the battle of the wills and they are BOTH STUBBORN. As soon as Vixen felt that the ground was wet she ran back to the door and looked at Vince very defiantly. He picked her up and took her to the middle of the yard and put her down. She "courtesy squatted" and ran back to the door. NO DICE! Meister very firmly told her that he was going to win and she WOULD 'go potty'. She finally went around the corner of the house (staying as close under the overhang as possible). She may not have gone, but she waited long enough to make Meister think she had given in.....but, just to get him back, she shook all the rain off onto him when she was allowed inside.

TEA is my co-worker and is spell-checking for me. She said since it's a diet board, I should tell you that her diet sucks, too right now. At least I'm in good company, right? She is diabetic and has loaned me the Sugars and Flours Book I told you about earlier. Some very good recipes in that book!

    Gotta run!
  • Hi,
So far so good on my first day back on program!!
Hubby took me out for breakfast, I had fruit cup and a western omlet...hope that was all ok...but that is how I used to eat and I lost weight. Felt good telling the waitress to hold the toast and potatoes.

Deb, I have a trader joes near me(20 min)...I think I should start going there for bread. My regular store is ACME, I cannot find SF WW there.

I need to start drinking water....off I go!!

  • The computer is all fixed! We got the new power supply/fan unit today and my son put it in. It took him less than five minutes. Hooray!

I need to go and chat with him, so off I go! Will try and check in later.
  • Just my luck to have time to post on Sunday when hardly anyone is on the board, and now that the board is busy, I only have time to say hello. Work is really busy so will have to wait until later tonight to do a longer one.

I'm also doing the water challenge this week. I bought a 64oz mug over the weekend, for the purpose of knowing how much water I am drinking. Thought it would be easier to make sure I am drinking enough by sipping on it at my desk at work during the day.

Hope you are all having a good OP day. Will try to make it to chat tonight.

    Wendy
  • Good afternoon,

Getting ready to go home. Haven't been outside, but if it'snice I'm sure DH will want to walk. So I will get 2 exercises tonight.

Kim, I'm so exciated for you that 2 of those 3 lbs are gone. That sure makes you feel better. I don't know why we put so much weight on the metal monster, but we do. Have a great OP day.

Trish, what a kicker to the old pocket book. I don't understand why all that stuff has to cost so much. I feel for you. I made those monthly payments too for awhile. Luckily only one of mine needed them.

Deb, Glad to see you are doing so well with your water. You are off to a good start today.

Country, we are making wine glass charms as favors. 1500 of them. Each person would get 4.. WTG on getting down all your water.

Fillise, enjoy your trip. Anything is better than cleaning,

Monet, WTG getting the treadmill in early and over with. Hope you get that computer fixed soon.

Heartmom, Hope DH is feeling better soon. That doesn't sound good. Hope he doesn't give it to Boogie or Ashley or you too.

Zanne, WTG on skipping those poison aisles. That's one way to keep you from eating that stuff. Hope you are not getting sick. I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one making favors.

Rosalie, Hope you have a great trip, London wasn't it. I get so thrilled when I sleep all through the night with no potty interruptions. I noramally get up at least 2 times.

Renee, Hope your computer problems are solved. Hope to make it to chat tonight too.

Solshine, I have a Nextel phone. I really like it. What is a blackberry? Hope the job works out for you. Maybe the guy was trying to be impartial. Keep my fingers crossed for you. Cute story about Vixen. I don't think Meister won that one.

Chris, WTG on your first OP day. It gets easier as the days go by. Just hang in there.

Serene, Good idea on the mug. I have to count water bottles. Hope to be at chat too.

Will try to make it to chat. Couldn't get in last week. Hope I'm not burried deep in beads at that time.

    Have a great evening.

    Jackie.
  • Hello To All--
I am new to this board, and just started Sugar Busters on Sunday. Previously doing Protein Power for the last twenty one months. Lost a total of 81 pounds as of September 2002. Been completely stuck at the same weight since then. And became very frustrated. This is a little scary for me to be adding in the fruits, breads, beans and such, but is a lot like what I was already doing, as far as all the veggies. What have I got to lose.... but 25 to 30 more pounds!

Monet has given me some wonderful tips, and lots of help already. Thank you again Monet. I hope that I don't drive you all crazy with all of my questions. I have been reading the different boards trying to get as much information as I can before I start with all the questions.

I have the old SB book, and have read it. I keep it handy, but I notice that some of you refer to a newer one, and a SB for Life book. I will have to keep my eyes open. Do you think these are a good idea for me to pick up? Or maybe just one or the other?

Thanks for being here to offer support, and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
  • Teensy - Welcome, wow, I just love your screen name!! This is a terrific place as I'm sure you've already learned by talking with Monet. Just jump on in. I only read the old book. I think Deb read the new one and wasn't terribly impressed (feel free to jump in here, Deb). From what I remember, there wasn't a whole lot of new information in the new one. I don't know much about the Protein Power program, but this is a definitely a great WOE. There are several people on the board who have switched over from Atkins.

Feel free to ask away any questions you have and somebody will have an answer for you. You'll also see that we talk about everything here (just read Solshine's post above about the precious poochy princess Vixen, she doesn't like to get her tootsies wet!)

    Welcome again.

    Trish
  • LAUGH FOR THE DAY!!!
    >
    >
    >
    >Three men, one German, one Japanese and a hillbilly were sitting naked
    >in a sauna.
    >
    >Suddenly there was a beeping sound. The German pressed his forearm and the beep stopped. The others looked at him questioningly. "That was my pager, "he said, "I have a micro chip under the skin of my arm."
    >
    >A few minutes later a phone rang. The Japanese fellow lifted his palm to
    >his ear. When he finished he explained, "That was my mobile phone. I have
    >a micro chip in my hand."
    >
    >The hillbilly felt decidedly low tech, but not to be outdone he decided he
    >had to do something just as impressive. He stepped out of the sauna and
    >went to the bathroom. He returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging
    >from his behind. The others raised their eyebrows and stared at him. The hillbilly finally said..."Well, will you look at that, I'm getting a fax."

  • Sorry so long
I have been MIA for a while now. I am trying really hard to get back on but keep falling off. My mother in law has just found out she has diabetes. She wants my help but does not want to cook. Since my father in law passed away she is trying so hard to just make it thru the day, so for her to her she is diabetic just pushed over the edge. She wants to do water aerobics so we are going to sign up this week. I am getting so frustrated with my self for not staying with this WOL, can anybody give me some advice on how to start this again and hopefully for good. I just read up on the posts today so I am going to start drinking my water tommorrow.
  • Hi guys I've been MIA too for a bit. Some of it self imposed some cby situation. I have missed you all and have popped in from time to time and read posts.

DEBELLI Thanks for the chat reminder I'm hoping to meet up with you in there later.

Catch you soon will post more later whenI've got a bit more time

    Cheers

  • Hallllloooooo There!
    Good evening, Earthlings!

Monet is happy tonight... The computer is purring like a satisfied cat, and I just got back from the grocery store where I ran into an old friend I had not seen in about six months. She is not a terribly observant person, but noticed I looked different. She said I looked relaxed...well, ok. I would have been happy if she had mentioned thinner, but at least she made it sound like an improvement!

I just ate a pb&j and had a glass of milk. Not a good dinner, but I did not feel like fixing anything else. I was in the car running my son home, then at the store, and I am a bit on the pooped side!

TEENSY: Welcome to the board! Glad you came on in, and joined us! This is a great group, and hopefully you will feel as at home here as on the other board! Fire away those questions. Everyone here is great about sharing information, and most of them know what they are talking about! tee hee! How are you doing? When I first switched, I ate a lot of triscuits. Someone advised me to not worry about portions as much as sticking to legal foods. That helped me a lot. I did not stuff myself, but only allowed myself to eat what was legal. Once you get that settled, you can worry about the amounts... Gracious is on here too, by the way. She has discovered ebay though, and so we have not seen much of her lately!

TRISH: I can feel your pain...all three of mine had to have braces. The middle one had them twice! The best way to solve her problem was actually surgery, but the orthodontist was a friend of ours, and candidly said he would never recommend putting a child under the knife. He did a great job with the braces, and so far, she has not felt a need to consider the surgery. (she is the married one...) It was painful paying out $100 a month after insurance paid $100, which we ended up doing for five years. At least they won't get TMJ when they get older...I guess I shouldn't feel sad about the stuff I could have bought with that money!

ZANNE: Good for you passing up the chips and cookies! That is so exciting about your adopting a little girl! Girls are so much fun! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

HEART: Did you share the detox diet you were following? Will you? I would love to see it. Hope your hubby is ok. Sounds like strep, and that is such a pain! I hope it is not mono!

ACW: Good to see you back! I missed you!

SUGARLESS: It can be hard to get back on program. Remove temptations from your cupboards, and make sure you have legal things to snack on to get over the hump. You can do it!

BOB: If you go out to lunch for seafood, will you go to Capt. Bryan's? We are every meal there the four days we stayed in Sarasota two years ago. One of us ordered the fried oysters every time. They were soo good!

JACK: Did you go out for a walk tonight? The weather here in Atlanta was beautiful this afternoon. I actually went out without a jacket tonight! And all my daffodils are blooming! Hooray! Its spring! I just know that once I prune all my roses, it will frost, and kill some of them! Does every year...

SERENE: Good for you drinking your water! Hope you can get on the board more often now! Its good to see you back!

CHRIS: Good for you telling the waitress not to bring you toast and potatoes. The fruit and omelet were probably just fine! I love going out to breakfast! I rarely get sick of eggs!

SOL: That was too funny about the dog not wanting to get her paws wet! My cat hates rain. He is very afraid of thunder, and usually hides under the bed. Its amazing how affectionate he becomes! He never will sit in your lap, but if it is thundering, he will! Such a scaredy cat!

MEESH: I hate when the DSL gets messed up! I am assuming it is all fixed now?

ROSALIE: Good for you, getting your water in! Eventually, if you keep it up, you won't have to go so often. But if I have to get up at night, I usually don't mind. I tell myself it is a sign of losing weight!

Ok, I had intended to try and make it to chat, but I am yawning so much, I might better hit the hay!

  • Sorry I missed chat, but wanted to say hello. I definitely ate to be eating in some cases today (carrot/bran muffin and a scoop of jamoca almond fudge on a cone), and I rationalized it too, until I had consumed it and felt terrible, so tonight a good dinner of chicken, beans and salad.

Some one asked about Fiber One - it tastes good and is easy to put in your yogurt and such.

Need to drink water, it has occured to me that I've only had 2 cups today, good thing I have a few hours until bed time.

    Nite all.
