Dinner - Thai Curry Chicken over brown rice w/salsa, green been almondine - 330 cals.
Snack - baked Sweet potato w/cinnamon - 90 cals.

JOY!!! Oh no.. I am sorry your knee is acting up! I am glad you are going to see a doctor about it though! I know sometimes when our muscles are off-balance.. you know - between hamstrings/quads... it can cause all sorts of problems with the knees.

I think that was what my problem was a year ago. My hamstrings being too darn tight and my quads being overly developed.. caused a pull.. They have to be balanced. Plus, I didn't stretch like I should have ... (I definitely make sure I stretch now!)

Anyway, I hope your doctor appt goes well!!! Good job for not ignoring it!

Have a good day.

OH! I posted a thread in the featherweights forum about water.. How much do you drink?

TTYL!

Thanks! Ya...I looked back on my thread and see I've been sufferring with this left knee problem since 3/15/11! That's over a month now...time for an intervention! Last night was absolute AGONY...I didn't sleep well cuz I was in pain literally ALL NIGHT! That was the final straw for me...hope I didn't make the problem worse... I remember the EXACT moment when I hurt my knee...I was rushing to stretch after a run on the treadmill (had to pick up my daughter from school and was running late)...I think I over-reached a stretch in my haste and immediately I felt the pain. I thought it would just go away in a few days...but nope...stupid..stupid...me! ugggh!

Oh yes...on the WATER front...I totally agree with you. There is such a thing as "too much water". For your height, you should not be drinking a gallon (128 oz) daily. More like 5-16oz bottles....with maybe an extra bottle on vigorous workout days.

I drank so much water that my last bloodwork showed low levels of blood osmosisity (sp?). Basically what that means is that you drank so much water that you thin out your blood too much! Now...at 5'9, I drank about 5-6 16oz bottles a day.

Thanks for responding back so soon! Yep... I was just telling my girlfriend this morning that I only need 5 bottles of water a day... So, 1 after my workout... 3 while at work... And then one in the evening... That should do it for me. I bet that may be why one day I am bloated and then the next day - I'm "skinny" again... !!!

I am definitely going to cut back!

Joyful, thank you for the advice. It worked! I'm tracking every bite, upped protein - lowered carbs, and upped cardio to 45 minutes (that's the key!)

I'm glad you're seeing the Dr about the knee. Have you tried a massage therapist also? I've found one who specializes in "BodyWorks" therapy... it's like chiropractic/massage/accupressure. She's made a huge difference in my mobility, and she works on whatever is out of whack - knees, necks etc...

Just took a nice hot jacuzzi bath! Knee is not hurting as much...but still going to orthopedist tomorrow.

Dedikayted - I think you'll be happily surprised with the scale once you find your balance!

Gwennnnn!!! - I know you must feel proud...I know I am! GO YOU! I remember reading somewhere a long time ago, that (contrary to popular belief), moderate intensity, long term cardio is best for fat loss. Also that the body only starts burning fat after 30 minutes in anyways. I think there's something to that. I don't run the fastest (not trying to)...I toggle every 5 mins between 5.0 and 5.5, but I run for 65 mins. I believe I get better results doing it this way than running at 6.5 mph for 30 mins. But that's just my own personal observation. Keep doing what your doing...going strong...don't give up...no matter what...and you'll reach your goals...this is a mathmatical certainty...remember that!

*UPDATE* - Back from doctor's office. Exam, took x-rays, ordered MRI (next Wed.)...he thinks it could be my meniscus (which means baaaaad news!) He gave me some pain meds in the meanwhile. All looks good on the x-rays...and we are hoping it is my ligaments and not my meniscus. Depressed at the moment...will update later.

I pray that its not a meniscus tear! Well, as for now.. don't stress about it! Have faith that you will get a good report... Stressing will definitely not help! So keep your chin up and most of all....

...stay Joyful!

Thanks for the encouragement Dedikayted I feel better today. Took those pain meds (hydrocodone) and literally slept since 2 or 3pm yesterday! It was terrible...nauseus, dizzy and just felt "drugged out". I think the knee pain was better than the treatment! Anyhoo...didn't help that I was totally depressed about my knee...and well..ate..ate...and then ate some more. Perhaps sleep saved my calorie count from going over the 3K mark!

Oh yeah...SKINNY COW...I just tried it for the first time myself too! I see why soooo many people around here like it...it really is good..YUM! It tasted like regular rich, creamy and fatty icecream...but somehow it's lowfat? Anyhoot...they make icecream sandwiches, etc., but I buy the chocolate truffle ice cream pops cuz their only 100 cals....and yes, I too need PORTION CONTROL! I only crave icecream in the summer/warmer months and well (as you know), it's been hot around deez here parts! It's a great way to get your chocolate and your icecream on for the spring/summer months! Try it...you'll be glad you did!

Breakfast - 2 Pumpkin Raisin Muffin, 2 Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage - 358 cals.
Snack - 15g unsalted cashews - 90 cals.
Snack - Atkins Protein Bar - 240 cals.
Lunch - Spinach Salad w/grilled chicken, feta, cranberry & walnut - 300 cals.
Snack - Skinny Cow Ice cream pop - 100 cals.
Snack - 30g unsalted cashews - 180 cals.
Snack - Activia Light Yogart - 70 cals.
Snack - Pumpkin Raisin Muffin - 139 cals.
Snack - 30g unsalted cashews - 180 cals.
Dinner - Cod & Shrimp Alfredo over spinach quinoa, spinach - 350 cals.
Snack - small Navel Orange, 5 unsalted almonds, few raisins - 80 cals.
Snack - 30g unsalted cashews - 180 cals.

Total Calories: 2,267 cals.

EXERCISE:

Running - 5.4 Miles!!!

**Knee feels better today...gonna try to run** (yup..I know..hardheaded make soft behind...but I GOTTA RUN!)

Love love love my Skinny cow. My icecream replacement of choice are Philly Swirl Sweet Delights. They taste JUST like an orange (or other fruit flavour) dreamsicle. The are ONLY 14 calories. They are kinda small but they do the trick when I "GOTTA HAVE" something sweet http://www.phillyswirl.com/sweetdelites.html

Oh... Joyful try a half pill rather than a whole one. Your doctor quite possibly forgot to account for all your weight loss if you have been seeing him since you were heavier.

Thanks Aiesline! Mmmm...I LOVE creamscicles...YUMMMMO!!! and 14 CALORIES...Woo HOOO! Hope Walmart carries them. DediKayted - those Philly Creamscicles are "Gluten Free" Yeahhhhh baby!

Oh and on the "hydrocodone" tip...I think I'm going to avoid any level of them for now....I will just try to tolerate when the pain gets really bad. That was a really bad experience that just left me feeling "hung over" with a terrible headache! Gosh...couldn't he just have prescribed me with some prescription strength Ibruprofin?

I'll see today...I AM GOING TO RUN 5+ miles...I won't stretch that leg afterward and then I'll see how it does the next day. Been cleaning my carpets since 6:30a.m. this morning! So far...so good...just my bedroom & gym left to do upstairs...then downstairs here I go!
