Barbra, welcome here! It's always a blessing to see new people. Thank you. I hope your interview actually happens this time and yes, have peace about it, don't worry yourself.
Sue, thanks so much! Yesterday it rained alllllllll day but I did manage to clean my room with the help of a friend and let me tell you it was a mess and it still has work but at least it's getting done. Today the sun is out and all is well.. I love it.
Brenda! I've been trying to keep the cold away with Ziacam. That stuff works good and my cold didn't progress past a soar throat and sneezing.. I'm happy about that. Prayers that you heal quickly also. Well, that's good you are getting better everyday and I'm sure before no time it will be gone. Haha! And what color might that be? Oh man cleaning.. ^ I have the feeling. I have so much clothes to give to the mission.
Marilyn, 37 degrees.. ouch! Usually here in Arkansas it's about 40 this time of year and this is when we get snow. Well, lately it's been 50-60s (mostly mid 60s but wind is up) and it's crazy.. it's like spring here, I keep forgetting it's winter time.
Hello and hugs to everyone. I should be back later to check in. I came home early because I wasn't feeling so hot but after a little food in the stomach I feel a bit better.
Just sitting here watching the "pots" on ths stove. I was off today so I am in the process of cooking three meals at once! Good luck to me .
I have Italian meatballs cooking for spaghetti, beef and lentil soup with onion, carrots and celery has been simmering for a few hours, and just started oven baked fried chicken for tonight with rice and peas.
ANGIEmade salmon with honey and dill last night ~~ sooo good!!
Spent most of yesterday, after church, watching football, ANGIEjust loves that!
GAMABABA3~ Sorry you are having such a difficult time just interviewing. god must have a really great plan for you
MARILYN~ Glad you are feeling better. With the good weather you should be able to get the energy you need for those walks! Thanks for the input on the pizza, we do make it at home every now and then ~~ it comes out really good on Angie's Pampered Chef pizza stone. There are about 6 pizza places within 4 miles of me so getting it is easy, just can't figure out why the new place doesn't have it~~ maybe BECAUSE there are 6 other places close!
HILARY~ I hope you start feeling better soon!
BREN~ hope you had a good day with your mom.
CHRISTINA~ How far did you have to move?
KEEPING THE FAITH~ Glad your DD got her first choice. My step-d's first choice is NYU....she has applied at 9 or more colleges on in the north east.
AUNT SUE~ Glad you are feeling better. Are you enjoying the warm weather I sent? Bet ya miss those neices and nephew already! Will you be back up there soon?
OH yea Gamababa ~ I spent a couple of week-ends years ago in Fremont, my ex-wife's best friend (and a dear friend of mine still) lived up there. She has since moved to Bend, Oregon so I have a lot further trip to see her.
I live about 8 hours south of you in Oceanside.
Gary ~ Luckily not far! We were moving across town. Basically we had a bad experience with our apartment complex (loooooooong story, it started back in September with faulty electricity that caused a socket to blow up, sending my husband to the ER!) so we chose not to renew the lease when it came up. We are moving again in July/Aug when I go to law school so we are sharing a house with a friend who happens to have a spare bedroom until then. Talk about God giving us a nice place to live at the right time!
Yes! Thanks Marilyn..for the journal notes! I want God to be First in ALL things in my life and I have a way to go!
I did...enjoy my time at Mom's. Bubba cooked chicken fried steak, fries gravy and made a salad. OH YUM! I MADE me eat my yummy salad first. It was TOO good and I came home last night, as I'd have disturbed Mom's rest by being up and down.....I'd run down anyway and told her we'd both rest better with me at home! LOL!
Today is "paper day".....I have my files all neat and purty, with colored file folders.....I just have TOO much in there! So I will be discarding, shredding and properly filing stuff today. I have some collage sheets to do up too. Assuming my glue sticks aren't dried up! It's been a LONG time since I did any.
Hilary! Glad the meds are helping! My color is a beautiful wine/red color.....I need to do a touch up today, as I didn't overcoat.....I'll have like uhh..7 layers of stuff to take off next week!
WOW.....router woes! I'd best be thanking God for my computer today! It's very old but it works! I've had it for over 5 years and only spent minor money on it. I pray it lasts a LOT longer!
Christina...moving....UPSTAIRS? Oh what non-joy! BUT......it's gonna be a memory before long!
Beth, Sue, Lori, Fitchick,....a big ol' TEXAS Howdy do.......to all!
I'm gonna boogy.....and get started on todays chore list! Have a wonderful, blessed, productive day. Let's all gather at Gary's for dinner.......
Bren
I'm new to the site and Gary invited me to check out this forum. My name is Kirsten. I'm 32 years old. Mother of 2-Madison 5, and Bekah 4. Wife of Mike. My husband and I are going to Weight Watchers and loving it. He's lost 34 pounds and I've lost 15 since Dec. 1. We have a ways to go, but have found that this diet is by far the easiest we've ever been on.
We are both christians...my husband for about 10 years and myself about 20. We live near Buffalo, NY -Jamestown-home of Lucille Ball. We have a christian band and play the area and in the inner city of Buffalo quite a bit. We write a lot of our own music and also lead praise and worship. We attend a baptist church. We love the Lord and are so thankful for His grace in our lives. My husband stems from the Bronx where he was involved in Wicca for many years. God delivered him from that and now he's just on fire for God.
Well, I've probably written enough. I'm glad to have found this website. I need the Christian fellowship and accountability as most of my friends are unsaved. I love to intercede for God's children and will take any prayer requests very seriously. Thanks for the invite Gary.
Have you ever watched that show Extreme Home Makeover - the fellow (Tye) with the megaphone - well my good morning everyone was through one of those - you awak now
Doing well - very windy yesterday but seems to have calmed down.
Priscilla (daughter) is getting ready to go out with her Special Needs Support Worker - Anna is a blessing to our family - we have had her work with us now for 7 years and consider her one of the family.
Am going to be walking again as of today - when Priscilla leaves with Anna, Norm and I are going to go for our walk at the Rec Plex and then this afternoon will be doing the Walk Away the Pounds CD - need that exercise
kirsten - Has been some time since my children were that young - my youngest is not 17 - you must be a busy lady. Congrats on the weight loss - am sure you will enjoy this group and get a lot of encouragement for the group
Blondie (Bren) - hmm that supper sounds good but must admit I know it would be one that I would probably overeat on.
fitchick2be - glad you liked the journal - will post another one a bit later
crk - wow - glad to hear your hubby was not hurt -sometimes renting can be as much a problem as owing your own home
Gary - your cooking sounds great - do you hire out - we could use you here to do a meal for us so we can have a 'romantic break'
Woo hoo – got some catchin up time on my hands. Hi everyone.
Gary So your niece was in Oklahoma. My daughter’s school was going to do Oklahoma. They had auditions, rehearsal, and even started to learn some of the dances. Then 3 or 4 of the main characters made bad grades and got kicked out of the play so they had to cancel. I was crushed to see that, because my daughter was excited. She had a pretty big part too. She worked hard and still managed great grades. Anyway, Italian meatballs with spaghetti, beef and lentil soup with onion, carrots and celery, oven baked fried chicken, salmon with honey and dill, yum………you ought to open up a restaurant yourself.
Marilyn So DH is retiring soon. Do you have a honey do list ready for him. My dad just retired a few months ago. He and my mom have gone on several trips already. They are so cute together.
We have a really fat cat that sleeps on his back. He is 22 lbs. My kids joke that he is really a dog in disguise. He doesn’t like to walk though. Way to go on the 4.4 lbs lost.
Doitforme I have lost posts before too. I hate when that happens, because it is usually when I have a long one typed. Yesterday, there were problems with the server and I got booted off.
Hope your cold is gone by now. It has been the season for crud. We are having somewhat warm weather too (for January). I don’t mind too much. Just makes for more “walking in the park” days.
Keeping the Faith Hi again. Hope all is well with you. Got to thinking about daughters in college and how my daughters are junior and sophomore in high school. Egads. How do you do it? My time is coming real soon. I have been scrambling on line to help DD1 find scholarships. We fall in the bracket of makes too much for grants, yet still struggling at times with 4 kids. At least my husband is in school and I know that helps when you fill out the FAFSA. He has loans and I dread taking out much more in loans. I already told my kids that if they don’t do anything to help find funds or bare some of the burden then they stay at home the first 2 years and go to the local Junior College, which may not be a bad idea anyway.
Bren PC troubles. Can’t be good. If you were booted off yesterday, it might have been the server for the website. I was booted off too. I am pretty lucky when it comes to pooter problems. My DH is a pooter geek. I have had my computer for a little over 4 years. About once a year I put everything I want to keep on CD then restore my computer to how it was when I bought it and start from scratch. Kinda purging out extra stuff that I don’t even think about. My husband is always on me to do my updates and defrag and all. He’s a good guy. Got into computers when he was in Jr. High when they were all DOS based and antiquated. That was the era just shortly after Pong. Remember Pong?
Christina Moving is always fun. Really, I mean fun. I love change and going through all my stuff and sorting the throw aways, give aways, and keepers. My daughter and I lived with my friend and her husband for a few months when we moved to Minnesota. She is my best friend (like sisters). We all live in Texas now. She and her husband in Austin. Anyway, nothing like a moving workout.
Barbara No problem on the prayers. That is what we are here for. Job hunting can be a bit stressful, but God will put you at the right place at the right time.
Hillary Aauuugghhh cleaned your room. That’s what I have been doing. It is going to be a long process, but I am already happy at the progress so far. Hope you are feeling better.
Kirsten Welcome. We are happy to have you here. So you are in a band. That is awesome. My daughter plays guitar and piano (clarinet too, but that was jr. high band and she hates it). She played a couple of songs with the church youth band.
OK, I think I responded to most of you. Greetings to everyone else and God Bless.
Hi my name is Endirka,
I am almost 29 years old. I have been married for almost 7 years and have 2 kids a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 month old. I have been nursing exclusively but have to return to work tommorrow. I have finally gotten the baby to accept a bottle but I am depressed and feel guilty about giving him a bottle and having to leave him in the care of someone else. I also have about 80 lbs to lose. Please keep me in your prayers especially today and tommorrow.
Looks like when I was posting a few others were also
Beth: We are both really looking forward to his retirement. Don't feel all that old but are looking forward to having more time to spend with each other. And yes, I am in the process of making a 'honey do list' but he has one of these now anyway so that won't be much of a change. He works the railroad which means when he goes to work he is gone up to 30 hours - so it is going to be a big change for me to have him home EVERY night- no having the bed to myself any more
Endrika - I would find it difficult also to return to work when the baby is so young. But you will do ok - our 2nd daughter - age 34 - will be returning to work in 2 months - her son was born in May - she is looking forward to going back to work but she also is saying she is going to have a hard time leaving son (he was a very very sick back - heart trouble) but she will do well also. Come and post as often as you can - lots of good people here who will give you lots of encouragement
Ok, watch for next post for the 'journal of the day'
