A Servant's Prayer

Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways...
Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an
honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered
by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have
called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect
heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors
I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the
roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything
that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of
your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.

To love as you love...
To serve as you serve...
To heal as you heal...
To forgive as you forgive...
always mindful of my nothingness while doing
great and marvelous things in you name and for
you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

Welcome to our new thread

The last thread was getting a bit long - so we have a new one.

Praying that all make it over here.

I am down a bit this morning in weight - tomorrow is my official weigh in so hopefully it will be down a bit more.

Headache still terrible - spend a couple of hours in bed yesterday afternoon - got up this morning and it was still there - went out this morning with hubby so he could have his 'coffee' while I had some water. Came home by 10 am and had to take some meds and go back to bed. Stayed there till just about 1 pm this afternoon - am up now, have taken some more meds and think I should be able to get through the rest of the day without another 'nap' because of the headache. Will be calling the good doc. on Monday to go and see why this is happening so often. Scares me somewhat especially since I have had 2 bouts of cancer. But the Lord is looking after me so am praying all will be ok.

OK, everyone hope you all make it here

Saturday

HI GALS:wave:

Angie, Ryan and I just got home from the memorial for my daughter's, boyfriend's, father. It was very nice and UPLIFTING just as Dennis would have wanted. Several hundred people came out to celebrate in Dennis being with our Lord. Some of his friends from work, church and his past shared a story or two. The pulpit was decorated with 16 surfboards, and most of us wore Hawaiian clothes or something else colorful.

I just wanted to take the time to thank all of my 3FC friends that prayed for Dennis and his family, and my daughter, this last year. Also to share with you that there is no doubt that he is in Heaven at this very moment, what a comfort we have as Christians. Share that message with someone that doesn't have Christ in their hearts, okie-dokie?

Well, off to dinner (had to skip the beach BBQ for Dennis) then to my neice's play at a local high school....she has a leading part :carrot:

GO WORSHIP! tomorrow ~~ Prayers, Gary

EZMONEY 01-22-2006 10:31 AM

Sunday Morning

GOOD MORNING GALS:sunny:

Taking a few minutes to check in. We usually go to 8:00 service at church, but Angie has bell choir at 10:30 today, so we are just hanging out.

Had a great time at my neice's play last night. She was in OKLAHOMA, played the part of Aunt Eller. We didn't get home until 11:00, so not having first service today helps ;)

Before the play we went to the opening of a new Italian restaurant a mile and a half away from us. It was pretty darn good, I had alla carbonara and Angie and Ron had eggplant dishes. The prices were fair, the food was good but I had a little problem with it ~~~ :jeno: NO PIZZA:jeno::no: I was a little bummed out. The place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner ~~ the breakfast menu is typical, the lunch menu has soup, sandwiches etc. again, typical ~~ however ~~ the dinner menu is only "fancy" stuff ~~ typical Italian ~~ but it doesn't have any pizza or cheaper dishes as options. We live in a neighborhood surrounded by fast food joints and small restaurants and I just thought those options should be available in "our" middle class area. Plus! it means I can't get my usual pepperoni or cheese pizza TO GO, after my meal, for week-end GAME SNACKS!:D

Well C-YA!

New week

Another new week - isn't it nice to be able to start fresh every Sunday.

Hasn't been much posting yet at this new thread - thanks Gary for your posts - so am hoping the rest of the gang will get over soon.

Feeling a little better today - headaches not too too bad - but still am going to go see good old doc and find out the ways of having so many.

Got weighed this morning - same as last week - so no changing of the ticker yet.

2 1/2 months and hubby retires - boy he can't wait and is driving me crazy with the 'how come it is taking so long to get here.' But I must admit it will be nice to have him home all the time - but ask me about this around November of this year and see how I am feeling :D

Gary - am pleased that the memorial went well for Denise - it is difficult at times going to those but when they are somewhat upbeat and we know where they have gone to it is worth it. As for the Italian restaurant - hmmm how I love that type of food - but is strange they don't offer pizza. Have you ever had homemade Italian pizza - a lot different then the restaurants. Guess you will have to get some pizza pies and store them at home to make your own for those weekend snacks!!!

Well have to run - Koko is bugging the you know what out of Norm as he wants to go for another walk - how a little dog can go for so many walks is beyond me - trying to convince Norm to take Koko for a longer walk so that when they get back the dog might relax and sleep a little. Will have to take a picture of him sleeping one of these days - he sleeps on his back with front paws bent and back legs wide open - really strange for a dog as most cats will do this - but vet laughed and told us that he sleeps like this because he is very very relaxed and comfortable in our home.

Ok, looking / waiting to read more posts

Augh, I have to keep clearing my throat:no:. Anyways, I'm glad the service was uplifting:) and it does feel good to know we all have a spot in Heaven just like Dennis. He's out of pain and couldn't be doing better;).

Marilyn, I'm glad you are feeling a little better today. I had a bad headache last night and sleep cured it for me:). Haha!

Brenda, yellow..:dizzy: haha are you going to keep it that color?

Me again!

I just started a post and lost it, hopefully that won't happen again. I was saying what a beautiful day we are having the sun is shinning it is in the 40's which is awesome considering it is January. I enjoyed church today but then always enjoying seeing my family. I gotta work today, leaving soon but wanted to pop in and say hi!
E.Z. glad the service went well. It is so important to share Christ every chance we get, so glad for the reminder, we all need it. What is an Italian place that doesn't serve pizza, especially in U.S. they must be crazy!Think of all the funds they are loosing.
Sprout- prayers for headache, glad it is a bit better- prayers its gone all together. Keep your chin up you have a good drop this coming week.
Pixie- prayers your soon feeling much better as well, I have been fighting off a cold now for a couple weeks, it is getting better.

Something to journal about

Here is something to journal about:

Confess areas in which God is not in first place in your life. Thank Him for giving you the opportunity to start fresh

Gamababa3 01-22-2006 09:47 PM

Hi All,

I'm new to this thread, but have been posting under the LAWL thread, since the beginning of Jan.

I would like to ask for prayer, as I have a job interview tomorrow. It was supposed to have been last Thurs, but the company asked to move it to Friday, which I asked for Monday. Last week I was pretty nervous about it, but people at my church have been praying for me and I believe it has been helping. I will be interviewing with two directors and one manager. I ask for prayer that I am calm and what comes out of my mouth is a professional response and my mind is able to come up with the proper responses they are looking for. I know if it is God's will I will get this position and if it's not, then I know this is great practice for the next interview:)

Thank you and I look forward in getting to know you all.

keeping the faith 01-22-2006 11:15 PM

Hi All....Glad I was able to catch the new thread, I was wondering how it worked when it got so long.

Marilyn...Hope your doc can answer your questions and help you get rid of those headaches...i've only had a couple of headaches like those and that was more than plenty! saying a prayer for you:)

Gary...Sorry they didn't have pizza, i know lots of people love it. i can't say i'm really a big fan of it though....

Gamababa3...good luck with your interview, have faith that what should happen will happen. i know how tough it can be when you're looking for the right job. hang in there! saying a prayer for you :)

Things are slowing down here for the night....DD2 got accepted into her first choice college yesterday...State University of NY at Buffalo :D we're so happy for her...she'll be about 45 min from DD1, who is in college at Fredonia. DS has a bad cold, seems it's making the rounds. DH has been at work on financial aid packages and taxes...ugh....better him than me! Got a pedometer and took Cinnamon for another walk, which makes this one of my best weeks for some form of exercise. i just wish the scale would start moving again! Busy week ahead so i'd better get some sleep.
take care and God bless

doitforme 01-23-2006 09:58 AM

Blondee51 01-23-2006 11:30 AM

Hello crew!
WOW...sleep in and miss all the action! Actually I'm having some PC troubles.getting booted off 5 times in 5 minutes makes me wanna do the little mad guy......if only I could! I still haven't figured out why I only get the standard issue of smilies. Even when I do the show all...I don't get any more boohoo and stuff!

Gary...what a lovely tribute to Dennis and his family and friends! Bummer missing the B-BQ...since you got no PIZZA later! Waaaah!

Hilary! Oh no! You caught the bug too! Hugs to you and prayers for speedy healing. I still have some congestion but it's better every day and I'm not uhh...never mind, every time I sneeze or cough. NO! TWO days was more than enough! I applied another color over it! It will take a day to get it all off by the time I go back! I'll stick with what I know from here on out. Right now the nails match my purty truck!

Marilyn! thanks for getting us transported! Hello Sue! Welcome Barbara! Prayers for your job situation! Asking God to go before you is always a good idea..Hope the job is YOURS!

I'm off to Mom's in a few minutes after a 30 minutes cleaning spree. I have almost reclaimed my bedroom and my friend Cissy will be coming for my Goodwill Clutter.......she passes it around and I don't have to haul it off!

Be blessed...all of you! Ill be back tomorrow for catch up time!

crk05 01-23-2006 12:42 PM

Hi everyone, it's been a few days since I've checked in but I was busy moving! I missed you all! Well, it was a great workout :strong: hauling all those boxes and furniture up and down the stairs. The only downside is all the icky fast food and :jeno: we ate since the kitchen stuff was packed up. I was SO BAD  this weekend! Well today is a new day! At least a lot of the unpacking is already done so I'm all ready to get cooking :chef: again.

Gary ~ I'm glad that the memorial was an uplifting experience for you. I know that Dennis is safely in heaven with God now.

Gamababa3 ~ :welcome3: This is a great place to come for support and I know you'll love it here! I will pray for your job interview, and be sure to let us know how it turns out!

Keepingthefaith ~ a big congrats to DD2 on her college acceptance!!! I am hoping and praying for one of those letters (for law school) next month! :crossed:

Everyone else ~ Hi! I hope you all have a wonderful :sunny: day! Big hugs :grouphug: to all of you!

sprout 01-23-2006 01:22 PM

Good morning everyone

Actually it is just about lunch tme isn't it - at least it is here where I am.

Sun is out and it looks so nice but it is still rather chilly - only 37 degrees but I will stay in where it is warm and cosy and look out at the beautiful day:)

I am so pleased - got weighed today and the scale moved in the right direction - I am now officially down 4.4 pounds for this month - I have updated my ticker accordingly. So happy that thiese changes are working - now have to be very diligent / careful for the next few days to make sure this weight stays off - would like to have the 31 of January say that I have lost 5 - 6 pounds - so am really going to put some umph into it the rest of this week :carrot: :carrot:

crk05 - that moving can really be a workout - we are looking at selling our house in the spring / summer so am sure I will get a good work out at that time - hopefully will be considerably lighter on the scale by then which will help

Blondie/Bren - sorry to hear you are having computer problems - we have had our share in the last month. Had to buy a new modem as it went and then a week later the router went. Now the new router is acting strange - if I turn of my computer for any length of time when I turn it back on I have to unplug the router for a few minutes, plug it back in and then I will get the internet - if I don't unplug it it won't bring the internet up - strange - don't like to have to go and do this each time the computer is off - we have 2 computers - one in the basement in hubbys hobby room and this is where the router is and my computer is upstairs in what used to be the 3rd bedroom (now my office) so when hubby is not home I have go to down and do the router thing - nasty:( But at least it is up and running

doitforme - hi, how's it going

keeping the the faith good to hear about your DD getting accepted to the college of her choice. I am sure she is pleased as I am sure you are too

Gamababa3 - welcome - sure you will find a lot of good support from all the group here - prayers going up for you

pixifalls, Gary - and all the rest that I have missed - looking forward to hearing from you

Gamababa3 01-23-2006 02:32 PM

Hi all, thank you so much for all your prayers I did feel a little less stressed this morning. Let me tell you how it went. I first leave at 9:15 for a 10 AM interview. The traffic is bumper to bumper and at about 9:30 I started worrying I would be late. Traffic picks up and I do get there a few early. The receptionist leaves a message for the manager and then at 10:10 leaves another message. The HR women seen I was there and tries him on his cell to find out something else came up. She tried to see if one of the other managers were free, but they were not. So by now she is apologizing, because I was to have had an interview with them last Thurs and late Wed evening I find out they needed to move it. I was able to give her all my paper work and go over what happened my last position. She will contact me later today to set up another appt this week. By time I do get in to meet with them I will be so calm from so many people praying:)

Sprout happy to hear you are down in your weight, sure makes you feel good. I'm getting ready to go weigh in at my center and get measured.

Blondee sorry to hear your having computer problems. Hope they get fixed soon.

Hilary and Blondee hope you both get well soon, it's the pits being sick.

Crk05 even though you had some bad choices in food I hope all the exercise you got it burned up those calories.

Keeping the faith glad to hear your DDS got accepted into University of NY at Buffalo.

Prayers that all are sick get well soon.

Thank you everyone who prayed for me this morning. I will let you know when they schedule another interview.

Hope you all do well today with you weight loss and exercise.
