My main goal is to get out of the 240s, and preferably lose at least 6-8 pounds. I hope it goes better than it did in October, because that didn't go as planned at all

October was a horrible month, and I didn't achieve any of my goals. I think I'm heavier now than at the beginning of October (which is annoying since I did manage to get to my lowest weight halfway through).

Because of the problems I've been having, I've decided to keep it easy this November. Goals are:

Stop binge eating

Not giving up!

I'm not going to worry about weight loss goals. I just want to achieve these two things.

166 this morning. I need to throw out the junk food. My calories are perfect but they are all junk food.

preparing for work tomorrow, considering weighing.

i've been "OP-ish" all weekend- minus a couple of of extra calories last night- but i have also been drinking with friends, so it's going to be a complete toss up. I do feel good though.

Did OK this weekend. Was at a party last night and had some drinks, but I did good with food and I managed to not exceed my calories. Back on track today..staying away from the scale until thursday or friday.

I would really like to hit 75 lbs lost by the end of the month (I'm at 59 now). I generally lose about a pound a day, but I slowed to nothing in October, and between Thanksgiving and a few trips out of town, I went off plan and it served as sort of a system reset. I'm back to losing rapidly now after upping my cal intake to balance my workouts. Officially my goal is 65 by Dec first and 75 by Christmas, but if I could keep up my pace and be closer to 100, I would be happy.

Hello everyone!
I know its a few days into the month, but I was hoping to join. I actually started my current weight loss program on November first so this is kinda perfect.
My goals for November:
All month I will do all my prescribed workouts. Trading days is ok, but missing a workout completely is absolutely not. Also I am starting a new eating plan. It is both a caloire counting and a clean eating plan.
For week 1: Track everything and focus on following the 6 meals aiming for at least 100g of protien and 10 servings of fruits and veggies everyday. This first week I will try for eating only clean healthy foods, but my ficus is more about eating what I should eat and avoiding what I shouldn't is secondary.
Week 2: In addition to week 1 I will start to try to not cosume any calories after 10 pm (this late because on some nights I work late and have to have dinner late) Nights I dont work late I dont want calories after 8.
Week 3: Keep the goal from weeks above and in addition I will start being more strict on my food choices, but since I will take away the wiggle room for foods that aren't part of the clean eatingplan I will allow 1 cheat meal that doesn't have to be within my programs guidlines.
Week 4: Finish line for one month of transistioning into my new eating plan!

It look like a few of us are trying to start or rest ourselves right now.

I feel that this time of the year is a pretty important time to learn how to do this learn and practice how to be thinner thing. This time of year is the most difficult for everyone. If we can figure out now how to live, eat and exercise to be be healthy and look how we want to look in the face of the holiday season, then we are working on learning the tools that can lead to a lifetime at our goal weights.

Here is my backstory that gets me so exciting to really do this during the holidays.
In 2010 I lost weight from my high weight of 186 to 168 lbs. This wasn't quite to goal, but quite frankly I felt pretty good at that weight. I decided to take a maintenece break for awhile. Maintenece turned difficult and I fluctuated up as much as 8 lbs for a while, but finally got it figured out and was able to maintain between 168-171 for almost an entire year. This brings us to the middle of october 2011. Since I was successful at maintaining I had decided that after the holidays I would tackle the last few pounds and work at seeing my goal of 155 lbs. Well AFTER the holidays was a HUGE mistake. I let myself fall oput of "watch the scale at work to maintain mentality and into a "eat now cause after the holidays I diet", mentality. So what happened?
I gained 15 lbs! And here I am a year later and with the exception of a short 7 lb loss stint in the summer, still sitting here at 185 lbs. I do believe in maintence breaks on the way to the ultimate goal, in fact I plan to take one after each 10 percent loss, but breaks from mainenece breaks are not ok! And I think thats true while losing weight, and even when I reach goal and maintain for 5 years, I still need to ALWAYS be maintaining. "I'm starting the diet at ..." is such a dangerous and slippery slope, the start date keeps getting pushed back and the pounds keep creeping on.

Anyways sorry this is a bit long winded and I appologize if this wasn't the appropriate place for my speel, but I suppose I must have been feeling the need to get this out on "paper". .

Well here's to hard lessons and learning from our past mistakes.

I'm hoping to see the 160's by the end of November...From the way I've been losing the past two weeks, I think that is definitely do-able!
