Not a good start to my week, spaghetti with meat balls and bread for dinner. Those calories add up fast. Dang!! Two slices of french bread= 555 cals and the entire dinner is 1261. I'm going to need to have a special lower cal dinner just for me when the kids request stuff like that. It's so hard though.
CoolMom75- Yeah garlic bread is the worst most delicious evil thing ever! I hate having to make seperate dishes. I only have one step daughter, and my my husbands pretty good about eating what I cook. In the past I have made dishes like pasta and steamed zucchini ribbons on the side. Also I cook the fatty meat separate from the tomato sauce and have the cheese on the side. This allows me to count and add up the cheese, fatty meat etc. and better control the calories in my food. I also toss the zucchini "noodles" in with a smal serving of pasta with the tomato sauce. And the family can load on whatever cheese etc. they want. It's a bit of a pain and dirties more dishes, but doesnt quite feel like having to cook two completely separate meals, and helps my more unhealthy meals stay a bit more manageable. I do think its ok to sometimes have a crazy meal like that. But maybe that mentality is why I am back to starting again with my weight loss! Ha ha.
This thursday we are having friends over for dinner. The plan was a pizza night, so I found a recipe for a low carb pizza crust. I'll make the regular crust too in case the low carb isnt good (which I'll eat regardless), and since it's guests. My plan is too make a few smaller crusts and have healthy and regular toppings. Then when guests arrive I'll make two or three different pizzas. And one will be loaded with veggies and have light cheese (low fat cheese).
Ha ha yes I have put alot of time/ research/ thopught into how to have pizza and stay on track while being sure there is traditional fatty pizza for people not trying to lose weight.

That is a great idea to add zucchini ribbons to beef up my pasta portion!!! Good luck with the dinner company prep.
198 on the scale this morning. It's amazing how easily I can jump 4 pounds with water weight or whatever. Biking to the store for grocery shopping today.
I bought 5 frozen dinners to get me back on track this week while the rest of the family gets homemade mac n cheese and homemade pizza and burritos. All their favs that get me in trouble. So far so good! I had enough cals leftover for a glass of wine.
I also got my new "minivan" bike tricked out for grocery shopping commutes and did the shopping today. Fun and a good workout!
I hope it's not too late to join in on the November goals? I used to set daily/weekly/monthly goals and I think it helped.
I had a binge last night, so I was sitting here assessing my situation. Since joining 3FC in September, I haven't been able to consistently stick to counting my calories, start exercising regularly, or really lose weight at all (down a few tenths of a pound in two months).
On the other hand, I've been more consistently eating a proper dinner (I typically would skip dinner and just snack all night) and really cut down on my binging behavior. So, I'm having some successes but there's still work to be done.
So, my goals for November are by the end of the month I'd like to be counting calories consistently every day, exercising regularly (at least 4-5 times per week), have binged fewer times than in October, and maintain an uncluttered/clean home (I *hate* cleaning, but if it gets too disorganized I've noticed I have a harder time focusing on healthy diet and exercise).
Today's tasks to meet these goals involves a reset day from yesterday's binge. I'm not counting, but I'm going to concentrate on not binging and getting my house in order after having several visitors this past weekend. I'll also take some time to come up with an exercise plan.
Been doing really good so far this week. Resisted a lot of temptations. Might weigh tomorrow, if I feel like it. Unless I wait until friday. Maybe a bit too curious to do so though. We'll see.
165 this morning. Did really good getting my veggies in yesterday. I know if I eat the veggies and drink the water that everything else will fall into place and some how I still have to force myself to do it. Yikes.
atmos- We are glad to have you join us! Welcome!
EmCoconut- I wish I had your will power. I weigh every morning no matter what. I can't seem to help myself
Em - That's great to hear! Hopefully it pays off on the scale, but if not, at least it is likely paying off in for your general well being
toobig - Thanks! And well done on your veggies!
Met some of yesterday's goals. Didn't quite finish the dishes (I have no dishwasher, so everything is by hand, and I got distracted by other tasks). Today I'm going to work on staying in my calorie limit, keeping up with the cleaning schedule, and work on that exercise plan. I think it will help to get some structure, rather than "I should really exercise today...hmm, what should I do?"
Coolmom- Mmmmm I do enjoy when I have enough calories for a glass of wine at the end of the day! Such a luxurious way to wind down and relax.
So today is day 1 of week 2! I feel I did really well this last week. I absolutely tracked everything, and with a few hicups in the first few days I ate very clean. And i have had 100 g of protein or more everyday but one. And I have hit at leats 8 (not quite 10) serving of fruits and veggies everyday. I'll say this week was a success. So now that its week 2 I keep up with the plan and add that I dont consume any calories after 10pm.
I'm having a better week and the frozen meals were a good idea to get me back on track. It is so stinking hard staying on plan while cooking for children. Three days of biking this week and hubby even rode his bike today.
Going "car light" is turning out to be a fun way to get healthier.
Waited until today to weigh. -1.1 so at least it's a loss. 2.3lbs away from main goal this month, should be able to make that if I keep it up like I have this week.
