    Okay--the massive PMS thing is passing--that was a long intense one--I have never been that bloated--it is painful--still bloated actually but was able to get wedding ring on this am so I guess it is better.

    Had a bad day on thurs--kinda bingy. Friday was better--around 2500 cals rather than my goal of 2100. Today is going well--writing things down as I eat them etc. Still craving salt but am drinking lots of water to balance that out--goal 120 oz.

    Will probably be able to weigh myself again on Monday.

    At least the crankiness has passed!

    I played phone tag with my MD all last week but the bottom line is I have some cartilage damage in my knee and need to go see the specialist.

    Good things I did this week--walked 4x, missed keeping track of food only two days, journaled 5 days, and I keep going with my plan. Had my eyebrows waxed. Oh and bought myself a new laptop which is really fun!

    Cheryl: that is so talented to do quilting! And I love potato salad--good thing there is no potatoes in the house right now or I would be making it!

    RVmm: Good job on drinking all that water and losing! You are on the right track. I always do that--I will be down a few pound one day and then up then down--I have to yo-yo for a while before it stays off!

    ryanmi: the rings looser is a great sign! you should get them adjusted at the jewelry store so you dont lose them--it feels good too!

    Shyala: I love those 100 portion snack things! I have taken to reading other pre-packed stuff to see what I can have around--like snackwells and stuff. It really helps to have it pre-done--if you eat too much you have to think about it as you take the package off--also eating lean Cuisine is a great way to do portion control. Also drinking water really helps with snacking urges--I slugged down 32 ounces in one go this morning and I was not hungry for like two hours! Had to pee a lot tho!

    Robsia: looks like a good cut--and you look happy! Dont let those cheaters in the parking lot get you down! I know how easy it is to get pissed while driving--too bad there isnt more courtesy--I try to be gracious while driving and it does make me feel better even if others dont do the same!
  • Hi ladies! Just checking in! Will come back & do personals later. I've been counting points since mid-week, and it helps so much! I need to adjust my ticker! This a.m. it read 238.8!!! Later today, it's reading 239.4, so that's what I'm going to move it to.

    I got in my 3 exercises this week! Woot! So the past 3 of 4 weeks, I've met that goal! I hope to be able to eventually say... I've worked out 3 x's week for the last 50 out of 52 weeks! Wouldn't that be awesome!?

    DH is grilling steaks for dinner, and I'm going to have a plain sweet potato. Yummy! Can't wait! I'm also munching on a sugar-free snocone right now. Flavor is "Afternoon delight", which is a mix of coconut, ice cream, and lime flavors. It's really yummy, and no calories!!

  • Hey girlies, just popping to say hi! Been a busy week getting over the lag and the laundry but to add to that my aunt from Ontario came up for a short 4 day visit so there's been a lot of family coming and going. Things will get back to normal by monday. Hope to get to all all for sure by then! Thanks for all the welcome backs **hugs to all**!! I'll try to have some pictures soon.

    Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Spent yesterday getting caught up on some much needed rest.. was a long week at work !!

    Hopefully it will let up soon and I can get back to posting on a regular basis.

  • Hey ladies. I'm all bummed out about money issues right now. But diet/exercise-wise, I'm doing quite well. About to go workout once DH gets home in a few mins.

    Louie - is your picture an album cover? It looks like it might be. It says "Hope & Fear", but what is underneath that?

    Snow - you said you love those 100 calorie snacks? The cheetos TOTALLY saved me the other night, as a late night snack. DH had roasted some peanuts, which are healthy in moderation, but I can't just eat a few. But they sure were calling my name!! Luckily, we had a 100 cal cheetos pack in the pantry, which was fabulous as a substitute. Salty, crunchy - just like peanuts! Totally saved me!

    Tina - Wow! Hope things slow down for you soon! Can't imagine dealing with company after just getting back in to town / getting back to normal life! I always need a vacation after a vacation, to just get back in the groove!

  • Afternoon Ladies...Thought I'd better pop in and say Hi. Yesterday was a very busy day with the FD's family here. Had to have the dinner inside since it was raining. No complaining here, we have had rain for two days and I love it. Also, we are in the 70's today, so very plaesant.

    Tina...I'm still dragging and I don't have the jet lag to deal with. School starts in a week and I can hardly wait to get back to my old routine.

    Shawn...Great job on counting your points, getting your exercise in and writting what you eat in your journal. It seems the weekends are always the hardest for me, but I did good yesterday. Had only 1/2 cup of the potato salad I made with FF Miracle Whip and a BBQ Hamburger. Only made the potato salad because the FD wanted it. I don't usually keep white potatoes in the house, but I eat lots of sweet potatoes. They are so yummy baked and ate with nothing on them.

    well ladies, it's one of those lazy Sunday days, think I will take a cat nap with the cat and dog. Hugs to you all.

    Well good morning ladies! As close to morning as it is for me..LOL! It's 10:40 AM and I've been up for 20 minutes. I can't sleep at night and I can sure sleep in the morning. I can't wait for some normalcy to sneak back in....shhhhh...my daughter's is still sleeping! The house is quiet finally this morning, no schedule, no visitors..nothing. And I have 1.5lbs. off already from the trip...I'm assuming it was water weight. Oh yeah...it the midst of coming home and having a the whole family visiting Aunt Flo decided to show up too! AAaahhhh...it's been fun I tell ya!

    Robsia, I gotta say va va voom! You're looking so good! It's funny, I'm a few pounds away from your starting weight and I think I'm looking pretty good lately but in actuallity I've got this thing only half way beat. Love the new hair by the way and your daughter is so cute!

    Robbin, thanks for the welcome back. Wow...peeing 4lbs. Does that get you a spot in the Guisness books? LOL! Be nice if I could pee off this last 5olbs. haha! I hope you had a good weekend!

    Snowbrocade, I don't think we've met yet. Welcome to the group! As you can tell I've been away on vacation for a while. You've been doing awesome so far..keep up the great effort! Japan was so beautiful and the people were so polite. We're already talking of a second trip some day. Probably more rural than sticking so close to Tokyo. Such a bummer when we went to Fuji mt. and it was clouded in.

    Cheryl, were you able to fit all that catching up in with everyone you wanted to? I'm glad you had a good trip. Vacation weight sucks, especially when you've worked hard to get as low as possible before leaving and now to come home and lose it all over again. The great thing is, is that I don't think it will be hard...because yeah it mostly water retention. My gosh girl you should've seen my ankles in Hong Kong the last week we were there. I haven't seen them like that since pregnancy...the closest thing I could compare them to are tree trunks!!

    Shyla, oh please...downer? Never! I'm glad you're here to remind me. Today was suppose to be my "back at it" day and now it's almost noon and I haven't had lunch yet and haven't got the energy to even thing treadmill. But I got to do it. I hope you're re-start again works wonders for you. You can do this girl!!

    Ryanmi, I haven't read back through the thread so I'm a little in the dark with regards to your neck...but I'm glad it's doing better! Sorry the scale is being a bugger for you right now...but the rings sliding around on your finger is a great indicator that you're still moving and shakin' in the right direction. My rings are getting so big that I'm scared I'm going to lose my anniversary ring that I wear with my wedding set, it absolutely just sits there hanging on to nothing. It maybe time to really set this weight loss in stone and get it re-sized.

  • My Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!
    Howdy All...

    So, you know how I've been saying that the humidity has been making me feel like crap, and it's bugging my allergies/asthma? Well...this past weekend I did nothing but clear my throat and cough-and it was NOT productive at all, if you know what I mean! I just felt like there was rubber cement in my lungs, and I couldn't breathe well at all ...so I made an appt. w/the doctor this morning to get some meds, whatever...well when the doctor starts the conversation by saying "now, I know how you get, and I don't want you to be upset, but here's what's going on", and then opens a big picture book and starts showing me pictures, I just know it can't be good. Turns out...I have walking pneumonia, and have probably had it for two weeks, at least...how's that for a real &*$#@*&!!!! So, now I am back on steroids, and am taking 1750mg of antibiotics a day for the next 10 days!

    As if that wasn't bad enough, it was only 75 degrees today, with 90% humidity!!! Stepping out of my car and walking into Walgreens to get the drugs was a chore in itself, but I needed some hairspray, so I went in and got a can while I was waiting for the prescription to be filled. Paid, went to work, get in my office, take said drugs, and open the hairspray to put my hair up...NO SPRAYER NOZZLE!!! Can't spray the hairspray...so I tried to take the nozzle off of an empty can (different brand), and sprayed myself in the eye! And, of course, the nozzle wouldn't fit...

    So...to recap, I have walking pneumonia, plenty of drugs, a splitting headache, and terrible hair...and all of this stress has caused my face to break out- I have TWO pimples!

    Anyway, now I am laughing about it...

    So ladies--I am going home for three days--weds-sat and this usually precipitates a major eating binge. My family stresses me out but also there are so many good places to eat around there!

    Any tips?
  • Hi ladies! Sorry I've been out of the loop the last few days. Honestly i haven't even read the posts I have missed, having a hard time seeing this morning! I have what one doctor called opthalmic migraines, looks like i am looking through a kaleidescope when there isn't one there, can be a warning of a major migraine coming on or just happen by itself. Well had a major spell last night about 45 min of bad vision with mild headache and general feeling weird, still not right this morning, nauseated and vision almost too clear? Sounds weird i know, so far only very mild headache but we'll see, got too many folks today to spend the day in bed! Anyway i am still trapped in scale weirdness, digital agreed on 237.8 after about 7 times on the scale but the dial is a firm 247 with 248 if i lean back on my feet while looking down. I don't know what to think! My clothes are definitely getting bigger/looser but my gut is the same and looking in the mirror i still see a major fatty! I weighed in for our biggest loser thing at church and was 248 there, that was with clothes on (but no shoes) and after taking meds and drinking a little. I just don't know what to think!!!

    Sorry to come in and dump without even doing personals, but the headache is growing and I really think i am going to have to lay down. I will try to come back later today. Hope ya'll are doing well and have a fantastic day! Congrats to all those victories and hang in there to those struggling!
  • Hey Ladies sorry I didn’t make it back yesterday for personals. Things got a little busy at work then the two little ones had football practice yesterday evening. Things always get hectic this time of year, for work it is convention time and home it is the start of football season and this year I have 3 playing. At least the 2 younger ones are on the same team.

    The scales were up 1 pound today to 232 but I really am not letting it get me down I think it is all water. My hands are really puffy and I drank a ton yesterday but saw very little of it leaving the body if you know what I mean.

    Shawn – Sorry to hear you are having money issues. That always sucks. You said a 100 calorie pack of cheetos saved you one evening is there really enough there to take the edge off of hunger? I haven’t tried any of the 100 calorie packs. But I don’t just count calories I count fat grams too and I haven’t looked at what the fat level is in one of those packs.

    Cheryl – Is it awkward for you to have family of the FD’s over? I’m not sure how that would go. Did she enjoy her family? You mentioning potato salad makes me want some. MMM I might have to make some.

    Tina – I haven’t been on vacation and am not suffering jet lag but feel as though I have the same symptoms as you cant sleep at night and don’t want to get up in the morning. So you can use the vacation as your excuse what do I use for mine?

    Ryanmi – Ya now I really have no clue as to what to say to you other than, I am so sorry. Sounds like you had a terrible day yesterday. But at least you were able to laugh at yourself. Make sure you take your meds and get plenty of rest we want you better.

    Snow – Not much advice here I tend to always eat more when I am with my family. I try to make sure I take some healthy food along with me to pick at to keep me from over doing it too much when it comes to meals.

    Erin – I have never heard of ophthalmic migraines, sounds awful. Is there anything you can do to make it go away? The symptoms you described would be enough to make me sick to my stomach. I can’t imagine my sight being all messed up like that. Sorry you are having to go through this.
