Didn't plan on taking a sugar pause...ugh!! But, made some unmentionables for work and had to try one. Actually, felt kind of gross, it was tooo sweet!

Hi hello, just waving hi to everyone here

I'm busy and all over the place with everything in my life right now, but I am starting to see some favourable prospects for re-joing the 21 day challenge. Keep your fingers crossed so that I can make it all work!

Cheers to everyone!

Sushi

Day 19 done for water - no more pauses.
Day 17 for food 1 pause left.
Day 1 for exercise - Restarted 28th January

Gee it seems to have gone fast this challenge - well all except the exercise one anyway and that is back on track as from yesterday.

Back at work in Townsville. Life may just settle down enough to complete the challenges, although too many barbecues are lined up at the moment. Life could get interesting next weekend. Or maybe I'll just not start the new challenge until after next weekend.

Gotaa run.

Day 6 & 7 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - good - Level 3
Day 5 & 6 - No smoking - good - no pauses allowed!

Wow, quiet in here! Guess I'm not the only one that's been busy.

Ok, I am starting over on the calorie count. I did ok the first couple of days that I quit smoking, but the next couple were a little rough. Rather than stress about it, I decided not to log anything. Today I'm back to it.

So... Calories under 1800 - level 3 - starting today.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I think I have completed day 7 for exercise and day 6 for no beer. (1 pause left and I'm saving it for the Super Bowl) I just got back from a week-end of skiing, so I still need to log in all my food, I hope to find time to do that later today. I went skiing for the first time in 20 years! It's just like riding a bicycle, you pick it up again right away. I thought I would be really sore, but I guess all my work in the gym has made a difference! That is really encouraging. Except my calves. There are no machines at the gym that really work the calves. They were really sore this morning, although they feel better now. My 2 older kids went for the first time. They had a great time. I wish skiing wasn't such an expensive sport. That's why I haven't been for 20 years. Too expensive!
I have a busy day ahead, I need to get going. Hello to everyone! Glad to hear you are still NOT smoking, DJ!

Day 20 done for water - no more pauses.
Day 18 for food 1 pause left.
Day 2 for exercise - Restarted 28th January

Hi everyone - good to see so many getting on with their challenges and succeeding. It's had to believe that my water challenge is just about finished. Think I may just start it over again, but we will see.
Still enjoying the new food regime. It certainly helps to know exactly what is for dinner and lunch everyday.

Better go and strike a blow for Coal and Ore receipting. Life goes on.

Smile another one in the bag!

Allright, I'm giving myself another day on both challenges. Thumbs up!

Crunch challenge -- Day 16 completed/1 pause of 3 left
No sugar -- Day 13 completed/0 pauses of 3 left

**************
sweet -- Congrats on a successful liftoff!

Shad -- Did you do it? Get through on water? And food, just a few more days. Too bad about that exercise challenge, but, oh well, nothing really lost, right?!

Apple -- You're doing great on the challenges, especially the big toughie, no beer! Who needs the stuff anyhow, right?! On calves, you don't need a machine, just do one-legged toe raises. If you do it on the side of a box or some sort of platform it's even tougher, hold a weight and make it tougher! I used to have a guy (heh, heh!) sit on my back and I would lean over a bench while standing on a box and rise up on my toes. Now that really got those calves burning! Glad the skiing was fun. Yeah, must be expensive. Is here too. You need to live at a resort or be prepared to hike up hills I guess if you lived in the mountains. Anyhow, glad you could go.

dj -- That is just awesome that you have given up smoking! I did years ago and it wasn't easy. Finally, however, after my tries, I finally did it, cold turkey at last and never went back. Sometimes I miss it but then I think of how unhealthy I felt and I'd be an idiot to go back. There's a great book you should read by Allen Carr about stopping smoking. It's the best! http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...RD,%20MGASPARD Good luck on that calorie count. Good for you for getting back on track!

Rab -- How are you doing? Quiet out there...hope you're still powering on.

Lost -- How 'bout you kiddo? Still going on that exercise?!

Hi there Sushi! Others!! How are you doing?

Day 8 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - good - Level 3
Day 7 - No smoking - good - no pauses allowed!

Well, managed those 2 challenges, however, the calorie one I didn't start. Wasn't feeling too well yesterday, but think I feel a little better today so I'll try to get logging my food.

Red - Good job on those challenges despite the crazy schedule! That book you gave me the link to I have read. I got the e-book version and I really think it made a huge difference for me! I tried to quit before and thought I'd go crazy. This time, it's been much easier.

Sweet & Shad - Good job on those challenges! Keep it going!

Apple - Great job on the beer and exericise! Keep it up!
That weekend of skiing sounds like fun! I used to ski but really can't afford it any more. I used to work at ski resorts and that was the only reason I could ever afford it! Maybe someday. My kids would love to learn how, but I keep telling them they need to get a job first!

Have a great day everyone!

Boy, I wish I had been able to read all your encouraging posts before giving into temptation! Bad news, took another pause on the beer and also on exercise. So I'm still on day 6 for the no beer, (with the super bowl looming ahead and no pauses left) and day 7 on exercise(1 pause left). I also did my best to log all my food from over the week-end, but Friday was too far back to remember so that's a pause and so that's day 7 too( 2 pauses left).
I'm worried about getting exercise in today, it will probably have to be after the kids go to bed and THAT is truely challenging.

Red, good job with the sugar save, and thanks for the calf exercises.
DJ, I'm so proud of you! A whole week of no smoking!!!
Shad, almost done! I'm beginning to think I need a water challenge too.

Sweetpea, Great Start!!

Day 21 done for water - no more pauses.
Day 19 for food 1 pause left.
Day 3 for exercise - Restarted 28th January

Yippee one down 2 to go.

Red - great going on avoiding the sugar binge. Yukky stuff. Never touch it myself. The only sugars I get are the natural fruit ones and I admit I can eat too much of those as well.

Taking a couple of days off and then I will restart the food and water again. Might as well keep up the momentum and especially since I am down another 1/2 kilo for the week (I should say 1lb I guess).

Small victories but they add up.

Day 9 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - pause - 2 pauses left
Day 8 - No smoking - good - no pauses allowed!

Well, didn't start the calorie counting again, still sick here. I actually ended up feeling worse yesterday, hence the pause on the vegies. I probably only ate about 200 calories all day!

Anyway, we'll see how today goes. I do feel better, but still ended up taking the day off work. Hopefully I'll be back up and running by tomorrow!

Shad! Great job!
