day 21 - Counting calories - good - 2 pause left - DONE!

day 19 - Exercise everyday - good - 0 pauses left

Ok, I finished the calorie counting challenge and I'll start new challenges as soon as I finish the exercise one.

I also changed my weight tracker. I feel like I need to start looking at the rest of my weight loss in a different way. I just want to try a few small weight goals, so I'm going with 10 pounds at a time. I think I end up falling into that trap of looking at the big picture too often and not at the small goals that are easier to deal with. This is especially true after gaining 10 pounds back over the summer vacations, holidays, etc...

Red - Glad to hear you're still on track and look forward to hearing more from you soon!

Sweet Pea - Good job on that challenge! To top it off, you're doing great on your other challenges as well!
Yes, counting calories can be a pain, however, after a while it does become a habit, so it's not too bad now that I've been back to it for while.

Lost - You're doing great too! You're almost done with 3 of your challenges and more than half way on your 4th. Good job!

London - I've been hearing about those ice storms you have been getting and I don't envy you! We get snow here, which of course turns to ice as people drive on it, but as far as "ice storms", I can't even imagine!

Shad - What a thought, piling up butter on the shelf at the store! I can't imagine what I would be thinking if I saw that!

Ashley - Looks like you're doing good with your challenges! I'm sure that you'll notice an improvement rather quickly now that you're working out again. It seems that when I have taken a break during vacations and such, that my workouts seem really hard for a while, but suddenly I'll notice a big improvement. I know you had to take quite a bit of time off, but you'll get there before you know it!

Have a great day everyone!

It's been a putzy/pity party kind of day . . . I did my exercise (30 min yoga tape, easy stretches and moves) maybe overdid it yesterday . . . but i did it. I almost didn't I but would be fit to be tied if I had to start over now . . . I'm half way there and am not going to give up now.

day 20 - Exercise everyday - good - 0 pauses left

Well, 1 more day on the exercise to go and although it's a weekend (my toughest time), I will make it one way or another.

I'll start my new challenges on Monday. I've got to think of exactly what I'm going to do yet.

Have a great weekend everyone!

day 21 - Exercise everyday - good - 0 pauses left - DONE

Had one of those rare opportunities this morning to get in my workout. It's actually the 1st time I tried working out while my youngest was awake and no one was around to help me watch him. He actually did pretty good. He only made me stop once to refill his cup. Guess I should have thought of that before working out!

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll come back with new challenges on Monday!

Talking almost through on two!

Allright, everyone. I just got down and did the crunches..and even raised my feet off the air for part of them. That makes it real tough! Before that I made and drank the vegetable juice. I'm getting to really like this. I just think how healthy it is and how bright it'll make my eyes!

Fresh vegetable juice -- Day 20 completed/0 pauses of 3 left
No alcohol challenge -- Day 20 completed/0 pauses of 3 left
Crunch challenge -- Day 8 completed/2 pauses of 3 left
No sugar -- Day 5 completed/1 pause of 3 left

Well, I took another pause on sugar, just for a bit...I don't know...I just had a real craving for it today and thought I'd probably eat more food if I didn't have a bit of sugar, so I did.

But, I didn't go hog wild like I usually do. And for that, I'm proud of myself. Today, I was really bummed about being so fat. I went to the store to buy on jeans and the mirror just got to me. It's like, my God, why don't I see it at other times?!?!

**************

London -- You're moving right along. I see you've used up all your sugar pauses, though. Best of luck making it through. You CAN do it!

Lost -- Yes, yoga is wonderful. I keep wanting to get back into it...just never have the time or space (I mean it!) but I will at some point. I really need to get flexible. And, wow, look at you go!! You're almost finished with three of your challenges!! WOW!! I hadn't realized, having been away so much. What a great thing. How do you feel?! And I don't think you sounded like a pity party at all the other day. I mean, you did the exercise!

Shad -- Good going!

Rabmonk -- Welcome!! You've taken on quite a few challenges! Best of luck!

dj -- Congrats on yet another challenge done!!!! Wow!!! And I'd say that was progress on working out while your little one was awake and watching. I remember my mother always working out to Jack Lalanne and it probably had an effect on me. You're helping yourself and setting a great example! I hear you on "looking at the rest of my weight loss sin a different way." Perhaps that's what I need, just looking at a bit, instead of imagining myself with ripped abs. I know they say image training is good for you and maybe I still should do it, but the image of ripped abs in my head and the image in the mirror just makes me want to cry.

sweet pea -- Oh goodness, hadn't realized you'd finished your exercise challenge!! So sorry for the belated congratulations!! And look at you go with the others, alcohol too! What a save with the craving the other day. Wish I could say the same about me today....

Ashley -- How are you doing? Last I see you were looking good around 10. One-hour cardio! Wow! Now that'll burn the fat!

jolly -- So glad to hear you had a good vacation! We look forward to having you with us again! Don't be long!

Apple -- Where are you!? Are you still going on the no-alcohol? Yeah, it's been hard, but I'm almost through. And, you know, it's getting easier to just go home and not hang out. In fact, the other day, I actually called a friend to see which bar he was in, but then said, nah, I'll let you guys carry on and I went home! Now, that is unusual! And the other night I did have some I quit after just a couple. Ok, I admit, it's not much fun, but I'm doing it to try to cut the calories. Though I'm not seeing much in results, I think it'll start showing up. I plan to do a few more rounds! Well, on or off the wagon, please keep at your challenge, restart or no.

Ok, all, I'm gonna go. I hope I can get time to talk more this week.

Ahh well it turns out that the alcohol thing was really good for 7 days. Then I gave in yday. And guess what? Today I completely forgot I was doing a challenge and bought more wine. Still have some left. That makes that challenge a wash. I'll decide tmrw whether to start afresh or take the 2 pauses and try and do the rest alcohol free. Turned out to be harder than I thought. Surprised me as I've gone long periods without but I think the summer weather is making me want to sit outside and have a few drinks. In my mind they all go together

Red did I miss something? Is this a new sugar challenge - did you finish the last 21 days and I didn't see it? You'll be finished your challenges tmrw. Very impressed. I think the vege juice challenge is a great idea. I'd do it if I wasn't so incredibly lazy. Too much hard work cleaning the juicer

Sometimes there are so many posts I miss stuff.

DJ well done on the calories I am thinking of doing a calorie counting challenge. So far just thinking about it

Did a huge walk today. Ok not huge but longer than normal. Did my side thingees. Need to rethink my new goals.

I'll catch up on everyone else soon. I've had major puter dramas. Got a very nasty trojan on here that my virus checker didn't pick up. Took me a while to fix. For some reason it stuffed up my browser and windows aren't opening properly. Also this new AV software is slowing my system. I might take it off now that I've got rid of the greeblie

Thumbs up get juiced!

sweet -- Howdy! Yeah, it's a new sugar challenge and I DID finish the other one! Too bad about the no-alcohol challenge. Well, maybe you can still keep going. It would be tough in the summer. It's easier here with the cold. I've tried them before and failed, but, I don't know...I think the timing was just right this time around, with the new year and all. Too bad about the computer! Hope you get that out of there for good. Oh, yeah, the juicing. You asked before and I hadn't said. I now have a big new juicer that ejects the pulp, but the thing is so big I haven't tried it yet. I use a little one that keeps the pulp inside. I used to get real annoyed by it because I'd have to clean it out halfway through, but now I just make less juice and it usually can keep going for that. It's not that hard to clean once you get into the habit of just immediately rinsing off the parts. Well, I don't know what kind you had. You really should get one that's relatively easy to clean. Drinking veggie juice just makes me feel so good and good about what I'm doing for myself! Well, hang in there!

Just passing through for a quick post. I've been sick with a wretched cold for the past few days. Haven't been able to do any exercise, other than moving from the bed to the couch and back again. The only things I'm still on track with are the calories and water. Hope everyone is doing well.

Day 13– calories 1200-1500, 1 pause taken
Day 13 – at least 70 oz water, 1 pause taken
