Sillymom - try fitday.com, it can help you with exactly that!

rockinrobin - I'm glad you were given that advice from a nutritionist. I'm always curious about what nutritionists will tell some people and not others, I guess they have a good way of figuring out what calories will work for you.

For a lot of people, the scale may inch downward, but the body is actually eating away at your muscles, leaving them with a weird, saggy looking body and not that much lower of a body fat percentage.

Speaking of muscle, I can't WAIT till my schedule is back to normal and I can hit the gym. I managed to get in one walk yesterday after it stopped raining, hopefully I'll get to go on both my breaks today. I feel so much better if I just get up and walk a couple times a day during work.

Hi everyone!

I survived the holiday, barely.

I think I've set a new record for overnight weight gain. I ate a lot of salty popcorn on Monday, and Tuesday I woke up weighing 5.5 pounds more. Urk.

So, as you can imagine, I'm a little sloshy with the amount of water I've been taking in since.

I'm off work this week, so we're going to a movie in a few hours. I hope I can avoid the popcorn or there will be more sloshing!

Well smartbutt I was indeed given that number by a nutritionist, but like I mentioned in my previous post - I didn't like her much. And did not buy everything she said. I really did think that was too low a number. But like I said I try to mix it up eating less during the week and adding some extra calories during the weekends. I try to look at it as a 7 day total. Not just one day at a time. Kind of zig zaging like was mentioned in another thread here. I don't know if my body is ever going to recover from being so short and so heavy. But my main goal is to obtain better health. Thank G-d I've had no health issues and that's the way I'd like to keep it. And I am exercising, so hopefully that will save me from losing too much muscle. And I too like to get in a walk at least a few times a week, weather permitting.

Glad to see you survived Julie, it ain't easy out there. Enjoy your week off!!!

Whew. Okay, for the day I'm at 1726, with over 1.5 hours on the treadmill.

I bought new running shoes today and so far so good.

I had a terrible day today, food-wise. Way too many calories - almost as much as Christmas! (2300) and too many carbs. Not sure wtf happened, I guess I just was being blissfully ignorant of just how many calories there ARE in a KFC roasted chicken twister wrap. Never again.

I am going to shoot for a 1200- day tomorrow to balance it out better. I really want to get back to the gym, I can feel my body atrophying as we speak, hehehe. Took 1 of the 2 walks on my breaks today, the wind was so strong and cold my skin felt like it was burning afterward!

Hi everyone!

I'm back from CA. I took 4 days off counting thinking how much damage could I possibly do in 4 days. Well when I weighed myself I was up 10 pounds putting me at 215. I've put on about 20 pounds so far from my lowest weight at 194. I'm really fustrated. I still can't exercise because of my back. How could I have possibly gained so much weight in 4 days off plan.

Thursday: 1386 calories, 1031 deficit, no exercise

Good Morning!
Thursday's Journal:
Calories...1,069
Activity...15 min. Skier
Weight...-/+/Same (-Down one pound)
Thursday's Lunch:
Tuna/Egg salad sandwich...80 calories
2 slices 12 grain Light bread...80
Lettuce...3
Green beans...52
8 oz FF Milk...80
Total calories - 295

Floriarusty...A few of us has mentioned how good it feels to get back into control. Those 5 pounds you gained will come off quickly, they always do. Just keep an accurate journal, recording everything.
MizzDeeva... I agree with all the helpful information everyone has given you. Your menu doesn't sound very healthy and I noticed no dairy. If you don't like milk, use yogurt. (And don't buy the full calorie kind) Have you gone to a nutritionalist yet? You need to get rid of all the unhealthy processed foods and go fresh, like fresh fruits and vegetables. Since you're a high school student, you probably don't have the time to cook fresh. But the frozen vegetables have just as much nutrition as fresh. Do you have lots of junk food in your home? How does your family eat, healthy ? What do you do for lunch at school? You might want to pack a healthy lunch before going to bed at night. You can pack fresh fruit or the handy little individual servings of canned fruit. A sandwich with Fat Free lunch meat (I use the 12 Grain Light Bread, only 80 calories in 2 slices), put lots of lettuce on it and FatFree Mayo or a spicy mustard. You could start a new tread and ask for suggestion for healthy lunch idea that wouldn't cost much. Please let us know how we can help you. We're here for you!
ValerieJoy...No way, you did not gain 10 pounds in 4 days. I suggest you go on a cleansing program for one day and get rid of all the toxins, salt and other stuff in your body. Then you can get back on program and be right with the world again! I'm sending you a group hug too!

I joined the new exercise club last night, talked DH into going with me. He doesn't need to lose weight but he could use the toning up. I'm going to start my 1st day this morning. I'm a cheap skate and don't want to waste my money so I'll try to weasel every penny I spend on it on the machines.

I can't get my ticker to change, but that's because I can't get my weight to change. Hehehe. Sorry, don't know the answer there.

I'm such a doof - I didn't have 2300 calories yesterday, I had 1900. Still too high but I feel slightly better. I had entered in the salad I *thought* was going to have for lunch yesterday with the dressing and everything, and when I got home and plugged in what I actually wound up eating, I forgot to delete those calories since I didn't have them. Doh!

Today isn't going to be great either - ZERO food in the house (i think our family ate us out of house and home) and no trip to the grocery store until tomorrow. At least I got paid today and have money for groceries again!

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Thursday's calories - about 1150.

And I'm so darn clueless about the ticker I DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE .

Bobbolink I hope you enjoy the exercise club. And getting your money's worth is a great way to motivate yourself!!

day 129 = 1560 calories

As part of my new year's resolution, I've registered for two 5k races. The first on April 1st and the 2nd race on May 5th. It is official! Let the race training begin!

You know it's not "real" weight. Your body was just shocked and is holding on to tons of extra water. That weight will come right back off when you get back on plan.

I've gotten rid of 3 pounds of my overnight 5.5 pound gain, which was a shocker!

I got my ticker fixed thanks to Suzanne. I was in the Enhanced Advancer and the signature box doesn't show up there, so I couldn't change my ticker weight. After I switched back to Standard, the signature box showed up.
My jaws were getting tight and I was ready to smash something.!
I'm going to go in and do the crossword puzzle in the newspaper, see if I can relax after putzing with my ticker.
Catch ya all tomorrow.
