Day 3 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - good - Level 3
Day 3 - Calories under 1800 - good - level 3
Day 2 - No smoking - good- no pauses allowed!

Yep, hanging in there. The calorie limit right now combined with the no smoking is tough, but so far, so good. I'm hoping that by imposing that calorie limit on myself, that even if I go over, it won't be by much! I really don't want to undo all the weight loss I've managed so far.

Lost - Hope you can get there too with the smoking thing! It's definitely a journey of it's own! I just think that you have to be mentally ready for it and I've reached that point. If you do end up thinking seriously about it, let me know. I've found some helpful resources out there.

Apple - Thanks for the good wishes. Yes, I do hear that stuff all the time, problem is, that as a smoker, you have to find your own reasons for quitting. Just like losing weight. Luckily, I think I have finally crossed that line into never wanting to smoke again, but I do realize that undoing 25 years of a bad habit will take some time and effort. I just keep telling myself that smoking is NOT an option, so I need to find another way to cope!

Good going Rab, Jolly & Shad! You are doing great!

Hi to everyone else out there. Have a great day!

Wink doing it somehow...

No time to talk. Just in. Just did the crunches. Gotta get to sleep. Turned down some German stollen today. Am putting it away for a sugar day. No good for my last pause with more than half to go in my challenge still. I also made the veg juice. I really WANT to make it now. May turn it into a rerun soon. No alcohol as well. Let's see how the stealth goes...

Crunch challenge -- Day 11 completed/1 pause of 3 left
No sugar -- Day 9 completed/1 pause of 3 left

Take care all! You're looking good!

Well, Day 3 is done. Boy, it's nice to be on the same day for all of the challenges. Make's it a little easier.
Busy day ahead, hopefully I avoid stupid choices. Last Thursday I really succumbed to stress and ate a lot of sugar.

DJ, I know what you mean. My problem with beer is similar. I often drink it to cope. When I have had a stressful day or my kids are driving me bonkers, nothing says "Ahhhh.. " like a cold one. Keep it up!

Red, I googled "south beach diet beer" and most of the articles were about breweries protesting this claim. (Of course!) I found another article, not brewery related, that pointed out a lot of inconsistencies and mis-truths about the diet. I suppose that exisists for ALL marketed diets. I think the reason I lost so much on it was because my calorie intake was only around 1000 cals for 2 weeks. And thats not especially healthy either. (Although I did keep most of it off) It just comes down to eat less, exercise more.
I have to go, my son is insisting I build something with him....BYE

Day 16 done for water - no more pauses.
Day 14 for food 1 pause left. It could be a close one since I am going home for 3 days tonight and someone will always want to go out to dinner.

Hey all. Just quick check in. I did make it to the gym this evening. I didn't go this morning, as i was too busy overeating leftovers. I did go sweat tonight. I also did make it to my TOPS meeting. So, I need to fake it until I make it.

My goals for tomorrow are to work out, and to follow my eating plan.

Have a good night all

Day 17 done for water - no more pauses.
Day 15 for food 1 pause left. It could be a close one since I am going home for 3 days tonight and someone will always want to go out to dinner.
Day 14 for exercise - 0 pauses left.
Bummed out on the exercise yesterday - not that I lay around too much but it wasn't committed exercise if you know what I mean. Today if I can't get to the gym I'll be out throwing things around in the garden and it may be a good idea to try trimming the top of the hedge before it gets out of control as well. Lots of weeds to pull since they grow and flower at the sniff of rain. Why don't the orchids do the same?
Anyway, gotta run, gotta try and catch this doc sometime today, or it will be a case of tying to get information out of uncommunicative medical receptionists. See ya

Yep, had a little slip on the calories. I think the no smoking got to me yesterday. I only went over by about 75 calories, but that's enough! Anyway, I also seem to have put on some water weight! It has to be water since I couldn't possibly have gained 2 1/2 pounds in 3 days! Especially since I have been good about watching and logging those calories! Oh well, whatever happens, happens. At least I'm not smoking and have no desire whatsoever to got back, no matter how tough those cravings are!

Have a great weekend everyone!
