Default Great Advice

Thanks to everyone for the great advice about the hunger pangs in the evening. I have 2 more days of preconditioning, and the cravings have gotten better. I'll definitely add more water to my day. So far I've dropped about 5 lbs. and am excited. Hopefully I can stay on track. I feel much better and am noticing a change in my demeanor. I have a long way to go, but it took a long time to get where I am.

The contract I signed and the way it was explained to me is that YES they guarantee your weightloss if you follow the plan every day during your contract exactly as follows, if you purchase your HSN from them, you take a flax and multi-vit (from anywhere) and I have to attend x number of classes (I think 4) and weigh in twice a week. If I haven't lost all my weight by my contract date they will continue to let me come for free until I do lose all my weight. Of I will still have buy their HSN tho, so its not like they are losing out! You just won't have to buy another x amt of weeks.

Thanks! Its really gone by so quickly and I am surprised that I haven't really busted my butt working out...I almost feel guilty that I am not spending hours in the gym.
You stick with it and it will happen with you!

i'm on day 3 of the beige menu and today was the worst as far as feeling hungry. i can only afford to do 2 drinks a day.... i read on their paperwork it's the flax OR olive oil everyday... i use olive oil on my salad everyday to get those essential oils in.... i just haven't told them that yet but i'll point it out in the paperwork when i do.... the flax is just one more thing i can't afford to buy if i don't have to.

i've gotten used to ignoring that hungry feeling when i'm at home though cuz i never had anything here to eat but there's always stuff at work so i made up for not having anything at home by eating the free stuff at work. today there were ALL KINDS of samples and stuff just setting around everywhere.. and one of my fave kinds of choc ... one of the girls in the office was being a real B and rubbing it in my face... i told her jokingly *though i wld have done it* that was gonna hit her if she didn't cut the chit... she kept on for another second till i looked at one of the other women and said, she thinks i'm kidding but her rude azz is fixin'a learn... she didn't say another word after that.

but the good news is, i didn't touch any of it, i drank 5 BOTTLES of water to avoid it but damnit i didn't touch it!!!!!!!!!!

so i'm thinking tmw i'm gonna go for my second WI of the week and see if anything's changed since monday...

You can buy fax from anywhere. Our center doesn't even sell it anymore. I usually pick mine up from Sam's or target. My friend who does nutrition and homeopath said flax is flax so it really doesn't matter where you pick it up!

Good luck on the journey!

Default Sticky Question

...about chewing gum.

Anyone here know if sugar-free gum causes a problem at all? I tend to chew it a lot...

You are only supposed to have 3 pcs per day. But one of my counselors told me if it was between that and snacking - to go for it. I am a chain chewer.

I just posted this on another thread but it's not a bad thing to put here as well...we take a LOT of vitamins & supplements on this plan and it can be challenging to keep track of them. Here's how I do it - someone else might have an even better idea, if you do, chime in!

I picked up a couple of the plastic pill boxes - I have a weekly 7-compartment one that I've used on & off for awhile for vitamins - I put my morning vitamins & supplements (the once-a-day ones) together in that one once a week - right now for me that means a multivitamin, a B-complex, a 5HTP, a chromium and a B-6. My system each morning is to put those in an old pill bottle lid, then put together my pills for the day every morning while my egg(s) boil. I put my breakfast 'servings' of MRC-6, flax, calcium, cortitrim, MSM, etc in that pill lid with the once-a-days.
And now my other pill container comes in - it has 4 compartments - they're marked a.m., noon, p.m. & bedtime I think, but the first 2 compartments I use for my lunchtime pills & the other 2 are for my dinner ones.

That way my pills are all done for the day & it's easy to see whether I've taken them or not (I still forget occasionally), and if I'm going to be out for lunch or dinner, I can pop the pill container in my purse and have them with me.

One more piece of advice I wanted to throw out here - you might get sick of the program and decide to give up. You might get through the program and get to maintenance and think you're set for life (YOU AREN'T!!!)

Whatever you do, don't toss out your folder with your menus, etc - you just might need them one day. There have been more than a few people who've posted here saying "I did MRC before but threw out my menus, could someone send it to me?" Not easy to do - they don't scan that well (I have scanned mine because I lost my folder once for awhile & when I found it, I realized I'd want to have it scanned in case it happened again). And in truth, we aren't supposed to pass the info on to other people. You could end up moving to an area where there is no MRC center and want to go back on plan. Think of it this way - you paid a lot of money for that info! Hang on to it!!!

something i asked today -

i had a little leftover *abt 2 oz's each* of turkey and chicken. well i'm supposed to have 6 oz's so i opened a can of tuna and used about half of that to make my 6 oz's. they said that's ok because they're all from the same group. also, on the menu where you can have either one or three at any time *not limited to twice a week* then you can split your portion between them. so have 3 oz of chicken and 1.5 oz of hard cheese *half portion of each* on your salad at lunch for example. i think this might make getting some variety a little easier! just wanted to throw this out there for everyone cuz the lady at my center had to call me back to find the answer so it doesn't seem to be common knowledge.

i was down 1.5 more lbs since monday and today's just day 4 on menu.... the lady this time seemed to think that was good. i added flax today too because we sell it by the bottle in my warehouse. 90ct for like 3.50 which is way better than 250ct for 20 like they want at my center. she said that flax works better than olive oil so i'm going for it. they didn't give me any fits for buying my flax elsewhere either.

Thanks,

Connie

Default Terrible but how often do you cheat?

I'm on Day 7 and while I've been doing fine until now (I've lost 8 pounds since Monday) I'm really starting to feel the need to cheat. I pretty much told myself when I started that I would allow myself to have one moderate cheat per week after I got past Day 10. I decided that if I did cheat, I would work out to make up for it. My question is, how often do you cheat? If you do cheat, how long do you feel you need to make up for it? I don't plan to have a binge or anything but I'm thinking about one thing off plan each week. Is this realistic or am I just dooming myself?

Susie,
Today is day 15 for me, and I have really wanted to cheat. I didn't. Looking back on it later, I have come to realize that my desire to cheat stems from a couple of things. 1. Not enough water. 2. Boredom. 3. Time Of Month. 4. Stress. Well at least those were the things this past week.

I don't want to cheat, I know that others on the board have (and do), but I need to do this as quickly as possible. A lady at my center today said that MRC's goal is to get us to lose the weight quickly and then teach us how to maintain it. That is what I want.

Of course, heaven only knows what will happen next week (or even tomorrow)!

Good luck,
Jeanne in Jax

Default Didn't cheat but...

Thanks, Jeanne - you're right. And, you know what? After my desire to cheat last night I kept reading and then decided I wouldn't do it. I'm glad I didn't. But I just weighed myself this morning and am the same weight as yesterday. I know this shouldn't bother me but after steadily losing since last week when I started it kind of bummed me out. I'll continue to stay OP but it's these kinds of things that make me see how cheating can happen.

Well, the scale is another thing...

I have to weigh myself every morning. Yesterday and this morning I was up - however at the center I weighed in 1.8 down. I am trying to get it into my head that my scale does not mean anything, it is the scale at the center.

Another thing to keep in mind is the dreaded plateau. "They" say that it is normal to possibly gain weight at the end of 7 to 10 days. My center sent home a paper about it, and I know Meemo has posted about it around here somewhere. "They" also say that you are still losing inches!

So since I am preaching to myself -- Stay On Plan, and It Will Happen!!

Keep Posting,
Jeanne in Jax
