Great job on your loss. I am just starting out. I went to food class on friday and will begin the beige menu on monday. I am already on that type of plan anyway minus the HNS. I am down 14lbs on my own before the program but I am ready to see some real results. I am taking Phentratrim, MRC-6, B6/B12, Flax. I am curious to see what happens when I WI on Friday. It is TOM for me and I had not gained any weight when I WI before food class(\o/)! I have high hopes. Anyone else feel full of pills?
I feel full of pills! Although I must admit, I'm terrible about remembering to take them after my breakfast set. I have always been terrible at taking medication- maybe MRC will help me learn to take my vitamins and medication on a regular basis.
Islandhopper- I noticed you are from St. Mary's-- I live in Kingsland! I started my program last Saturday (preconditioning for 3 days) and I am already down 9.1 pounds! I just wanted to let you know you are not the only Camden County dweller on this forum!
Hi, I joined MRC a week ago and went to my first class yesterday. I lost 6 lbs during preconditioning! It's very exciting when they honk that horn (though it scared and surprised me at first). I start the first four day diet on Monday. I love the diet and the results, but I keep having intestinal issues. They told me to cut out the flax pills for two days and then start taking one before meals instead of three. Two days after resuming the flax the problem is back. Did anyone else have this problem? What do I do if I can't take the pills? Will it affect my weight loss in any way?

First off, congrats on your 6 pound weight loss! I also had been having problems with my flax pills. Am I understanding that you were taking 3 before every meal, so 9 a day? And then you cut back to 3 a day? If I am understanding correctly, then you may be taking too many. I am supposed to take 1-3 a day and if I take more than 2 during a day, I have some major problems.
That being said, just ask the counselors what you should do. I don't think it will affect your weight loss in any way, you may just need to get some essential oils another way- like adding olive oil to your diet if you aren't getting any. One of the counselors told me that one a day would be fine if that's all I could do.
First, congrats on your weight loss. Believe it or not I was up a lb on preconditioning, I was so upset and depressed...But I went in on Friday and day 14 I am down 8 lbs and 17 inches. So I am feeling better each and every day. As far as the Flax, I had to cut it out and go with the Omega 3's, my stomach was very sick and I could not handle the flax. I only take 1 a day and they are fine with it. I do take B12, B6 and a multivitamin. I wish you much success as you continue your journey.
Thanks for the responses about the flax. I didn't know what to do and was becoming discouraged despite the weight loss. I was beginning to feel quite ill. As of yesterday I've completely stopped the flax and don't think I want to attempt it again. I think I'll do the omega 3's. On another note, I find this diet amazing. I can't believe that I have such willpower! I'm assuming it's because I'm so full of water. lol Whatever it is, it's working. I hope my plateau doesn't hit for another few weeks because my family is going on a cruise a month from now, and I have to put on bathing suits. Yikes!! that's my biggest fear-suit season.
Another option to flax pills is the Flax Meal which makes a very yummy muffin in a minute. I'm not sure where that would fit on our plan but its an idea. I start the actual diet tomorrow. I am concerned about the amount of food I will be eating. I usually dont eat this much (for the past month) so I hope I am not over stuffed.
Islandhopper, I'm starting day 1 today also. It's the salad I'm worrying about. I love salad, but not in that quantity. I think I'll start eating just cucumbers sometimes since they weigh the most. I can't wait for summer when most of these veggies are in season.
another option to salad are Green Giant frozen veggie packs. They are individual packs...not too expensive. They are about $0.99 a box at my grocery store. I eat them with my lunch. I am not keen on eating salad all the time. Sometimes I just need warm veggies with my meal. Oh, the veggies are already seasoned so it is nice. Good luck with the program. I am seriously full on the plan already (2nd meal).
I too rather have some warm vegetables with my meals. I am not 100% keen on a ton of salad at all so I rather eat the warmer vegetables, dont get me wrong a nice salad every now and then is great I am just not big on lettuce, never have been, but I surely can eat brocolli, cauliflower, spinach, etc etc

I totally agree about the salad - I really struggle putting that much salad in and often only manage to eat about 6 oz of it at lunch. For some reason it just makes me feel yucky - I think it's b/c I'm still seriously addicted to my old salad dressings and plenty of it. I've tried the walden farms stuff, MRC ranch dressing etc but still, it's just the same. I'm thinking about switching to just vineger and oil soon. Because I need the "roughage", I make myself eat an 8 oz salad about 3 lunches a week and probably 2 or 3 dinners a week. I also have Turkey wraps using Romaine lettuce as my wrap with tomatoes Dijonaise mustard inside about 2-3 times a week. I usually manage to make it to the 8 oz raw. The rest of the time though, it's steamed broccoli, green beans, cauliflower etc for me. A cucumber with MRC Ranch dressing is real always good too
Hey newcomers! Hope your first days went smoothly! I have had some amazing results since I started a week ago and I'm sure you will find the same results too.
As far as the veggies are concerned, I do a lot of Steamfresh frozen vegetables or the equivalent. It's great because you just stick it in the microwave and it is enough veggies for lunch and dinner. You can always add seasoning to it if you don't like it plain.
Islandhopper- Be careful of the seasoning in the veggies you described. Just be aware of the sodium levels- it will make you retain water if there is too much. The only sodium I really get on this diet is in my salad dressing and I do notice a difference when I don't get it. The scale moves a little bit quicker without it. Just a thought! BTW I go to the Brunswick center because my in laws live up there and I go up there a lot already. I may weigh in a the satellite center everynow and then in St. Mary's, but we'll see how that goes.
Well, I've just completed the first day. I'm taking the All Day Pills and am not sure they're the reason I have to force myself to eat the food. I thought I would be starving when I read the menu, but it's a struggle to eat the food. I'm not complaining. I do like the taste of the protein drinks (Mixed berry) and I like the jello. By the way, when I lost the six pounds, the ladies at my center put my name in a drawing for a prize. They called me today to tell me I won a hot air balloon ride!!
