Ripples I do the WATP DVD and didn't know where to put it either, I am only doing the 1 mile at this point. Thanks for the answer Susan.

OK, I am wondering what happened here......I was down a lb. yesterday and today I am up 1 1/2 lbs????? I had a deficit of 1190 yesterday and did my walking DVD for 1 mile and an extra 15 min. walking my dog??? I suppose it is holding water??? I didn't expect to be down just the same but certainly not UP!!!!!

Oh well, I know my body holds the water easily and loses it quickly so I will just keep on and hopefully see that loss again soon......

Phyllis

One of the things we have to get our brains around (if we want to weigh each day) is that there are fluctuations. Yes, water is one of them and it can take many forms. Regular bloat, salty food induced bloat, post workout muscle water retention ....
Wndranne did an extensive study of her weight over (several) days (I think). It's worth a read. I'll post a link if I can find it.

Heather (kittybaby) I know how you feel, I have been stuck in the 220's awhile too. I was stuck around the mid upper 220's for the longest time. The scale has started moving again though since I started bouncing my calories around. I eat at the low end of my calories some days and at the higher end other days. I am still in the 220s though, LOL. But I expect to be out by next week...whew! Also, I have been drinking LOTS of water!

Phyllis, I weigh daily too and it always amazes me how much it can fluctuate daily. I am ok if it flucuates DOWN, but if it goes up...LOL

Susan, I did not know about post workout water retention- that is good to know. I am going to try to start doing my pilates DVD's regularly. I won't freak out if I see a little increase on the scale now. Thanks

SusanB thanks for the advice. I'm so glad I found this thread!!Seems like a very good place to be for advice and support. Phyllis-I HEAR ya!! I was stuck for 2 months and driving myself crazy when I weighed every day! It took me that long to realize that maybe my old body was trying to tell me something(I'm 49 in Aug.). I think I retain water some days. I have really stuck to my eating and exercising regimen, so it was frustrating not to see a difference on the scales. After reading the threads here and on WW, and Leslie's site, I realized that I need to really focus on how my clothes fit (even though I didn't want to hear it at first). I "rethunk" what I'm doing this for and realized that this is for life and health, not just about numbers on a scale. Since I started, I have gone from a 43" wasit to a size 38", a 44 1/2" bust to a size 41" and from 47" hips to 44" and my BMI from 35 to 31. I have yet to go back to dr after 2 yrs of not having cholesterol checked. Can't wait to see if I got it down from the 247 it was. I feel better than I have in years. So try to focus on what you've done and continue doing it. You KNOW you can do this. I just think of it as being more stubborn than my body is LOL!!! Good luck. Hang in there!

Phyllis, I forgot to ask-is it really humid down there in FL? I know when I was down there a few yrs ago taking care of DMIL when she was sick w/cancer, I retained water big time. I NEVER swelled from the heat/humidity until I went down there. The only time I ever did that was when I was pregnant for each of my kids!!LOL Maybe that has something to do with the big fluctuation. Just don't take it to heart. I know there were a few times lately that I wanted to take a hammer to my scales. HEHE

SusanB my fitday only lists teaching aerobics or water aerobics. Do you have the PC edition maybe?

Good morning everyone. I promised myself I'd take a long walk and get out to run errands before DH home at 1:45. Then I got caught up in looking at before and after pics in the 100lb loser chat. Go there if you want some inspiration.
I'm still not fiddling w/fitday. I pretty much know the calorie content of foods and its a matter of just listing and adding the calories. 1275 with some exercise will bring me to a very nice place.

Hi Susan! Thanks for the reminder on water, need to get mine in...

Ripples I either use Aerobics, General or Aerobics, Low Impact, or Waking X mph for my WATP. I think teaching aerobics is like teaching a class, when you are both doing the work AND talking the whole time, I'm sure that would be an overestimate for WATP (for me anyways).

Deficit of 453 yesterday. No formal exercise so guess that one was of my days off, I need to get back in the habit of 5 days a week of physical activity. Don't remember if I was losing weight then either but at least I felt better about myself. Had good protein levels yesterday too, hopefully I can keep that up. Take care ladies, nice to see the thread so chatty lately and thank goodness the month isn't even half over. Time has been flying by, just over 4 months until my wedding, have to admit I'm a bit behind in the planning!

The fitday that I have is a free one and it doesn't list Aerobics, General or aerobics. It only has teaching aerobic-I thought that was odd. I'll have to check under dance. Do you know how many MPH for WATP's. I'm sure it's different for each video-just curious. Sorry to be a pain in the backside!

I use General Aerobics with the free Fitday also for my WATP. What would you list walking around the track at the park as?
