Clara- I have been here for 6years..We definately need to get better...i was really disappointed! I must say your English is very good! I havent been home in all of this time so i want to and NEED TO get in shape before i go!

Also 1/2 is not considered a weight gain because unfortunally our weight fluctuates even 2lbs! Just drink lots of water and you will be fine!

Thanks! Well, I teach it for a living, so it's supposed to be semi-decent .

Wow, I can't believe you haven't been here all this time! I'd be incredibly homesick.

Sigh... yeah, let's hope this weight is just water. Or simply my body rebelling against the calorie restriction. In one of my most recent attempts at weight loss I was stuck at the exact same weight for 18 days before it finally decided to let go of some weight. Then I lost 3 lbs in like 2 days. Not an uncommon thing to happen, apparently.

Hi everyone!

If I drop down to 1200 or 1300 calories a day I'm really hungry! I was loosing consistantly at 1600 to 1700 calories a day but now I'm stuck at the same calories. I probably need to drop it down a bit but I'm just too hungry and lower calories.

Friday: 1747 calories, 932 deficit, 45 minutes curves

Valerie, nosy old me had a look at your fitday and have a couple of suggestions for trimming a few calories.
Oatmeal is a lovely filling food with very little fat.
The pria bar is better than the zone one, yes?
Crunchy raw vegetables.
Do you like salad?

A simple method is to look at your fitday and find the things with the most calories and see if you can tweak them somehow. Like the roastbeef sandwich ... chicken has less fat.

Ignore me if you'd like

SUSAN... Your previous post really helped me with some suggestions. One thing I do really like is oatmeal, and I have eaten it every day for over a year now. It's something that I still crave every day, it helps me to feel full for a long time, and it even has helped me lower my cholesterol level from 239 down to 214 so far.

Hi, just checking in....I need to go finish my fitday for yesterday....but my weight has stayed the same so I believe that I am eating too many calories the last couple of days. I'll go find out.

Michelle I love oatmeal, I think I will start eating it every a.m. also....my cholesterol needs to improve and it seems to satisfy me and last longer. Thanks for the reminder.

Cool Deficit

well, only 480 so I am eating too much. 2100 calories yesterday. I went to CalorieKing and they say to lose weight I should only have 1385 cals./day.
That seems low but I will give it a try after Fathers Day....as I have to cook special meals for my dh today and tomorrow.....So Monday I will start trying.

Happy Fathers Day to any daddies on board.....

MEL -- I've talked about this before, but I love oatmeal, have eaten it every morning for over a year now, and I never get tired of it, I actually still crave it! I love that it does keep you full for so long, and I do eat it plain with skim milk. I have had high cholesterol for years, and in March when I had it checked again with all of my other yearly stuff, it had gone down from 239 to 214! It is very true when they say that oatmeal can help reduce your cholesterol level!

I tried to eat oatmeal for a while last year because everyone keeps raving about how filling it is, but it didn't do anything for me. I mean, I found it kind of gross and it kept me just as full as my regular morning cereal (all bran or another high-fiber cereal). I made it with skim milk and sweetener. What am I missing here? Any suggestions?

Susan thanks for the recomendations. I should start eating more oatmeal! The roast beef sandwich was actually a special treat. I won an auction at curves for a gift certificate at a pub. I normally do eat a lot of chicken! I lost a 1/2 a pound at my weigh in this week so HOPEFULLY it will be a full pound at my next weigh in so I can move my ticker!

I eat oatmeal sometimes too..when I eat it I like those little preflavored instant packets. Cinnamon is my favorite. I usually eat weird breakfasts. I am much more likely to eat a turkey sandwich, LOL.

Valerie, I hope you have a GREAT weigh in! I just looked at your ticker and I am so impressed...What a fabulous feeling it must be to be in ONEderland!

I did pretty good today- my deficit is 1374
I also have a non-scale victory to report- Yesterday I went to a festival with my family and my Mother bought me tee in size medium! I thought it would never fit but it did It must have been a very big medium, but still...I have been wearing XL for several months now. So, after that I got up the bravery to try on my long awaited goal- wearing size 16 pants. I went to the store and tried on a pair and they fit! They were not even tight. I think I did a little dance right there in the dressing room I was so happy! I also tried on some shirts and the medium tees fit, but I think they are just starting to make them bigger or something, so I will consider myself a large, LOL.

Piece de Resistance Oatmeal

Make your oatmeal in advance and put 1/2 cup measures in containers in the fridge. In the morning throw 3 egg whites and 1/4 cup low fat milk in your food processer and add one of your container of oats. Whiz and then microwave for 2 minutes. Stir it up and eat. It's lovely and sorta custard-y.
You can toss some protein powder and psyllium husks in too, to muscle it up some.

Hey all. I haven't been on this thread since Friday. We had a very busy weekend. I stayed OP 90% of the time. I had a great day yesterday with DH and all 3 of my grown children were here! That doesn't happen too often that they are all here at the same time. I've got to do my Fitday-I didn't have time this weekend.
I have something off topic that I need to just get off my chest--my dear cat Layla was left outside Saturday nite-and we have not seen her since. My heart is broken-so is my husband's. It's all my fault b/c I let her out about 8:30 and went to bed an hour later forgetting to let her back in. My DH feels bad b/c he was still up until 11:00 and didn't realize this. At about 1:30 am I woke up to the sound of cats fighting or doing something else so I went downstairs and opened the door and called to her. The cats stopped "screaming" and I called her again-still no Layla. So I thought she must have come in when my son arrived after I'd gone to bed. When I woke up and went to feed her, I then realized I forgot her!! I feel soooo guilty and awful. I can't sleep, I have no appetite. I'm so afraid she's so scared she ran away-or even worse-that she's not even alive. Our neighbors have a big barn and they have "wild cats" that they have fed over the years. I've had other cats before with no problems, but I can't help but wonder if one of these cats hurt her or worse. Guess I should have kept her as an indoor cat but I have never had a cat that didn't go outdoors. Please do me a favor and say a prayer for her today. I feel like my heart is being ripped out. I know there are alot worse things in this world that are happening right now, but I am so attached to my animals. Sorry to ramble, but I just needed to tell someone.

RIPPLES -- I'm so sorry and feel so bad for you. People can be very attached to their animals and think of them just as their children. I will say a prayer in hopes that she will come home soon!

She knows me for a long time and its the first time she says that so i was really proud. Then yesterday my dad told me that I have lost a lot of weight! So that was good too...
