I am finishing up my two weeks, possibly staying on a couple more days due to a somewhat off-plan dinner Saturday night.
I have only lost 2 pounds; I bumped up a little from my low last week (BEFORE the Saturday night dinner, though, so that didn't affect my weight at all). But 2 pounds is 2 pounds, and I'll take it I didn't expect much since: 1) I don't have that much to lose and 2) I have been *pretty much* eating by Phase 2 (OK, with a fair number of binge-y cheats) since February.

Oh yeah, I did! But nothing terribly strenuous, requiring endurance - brisk walking, yoga classes, some weights at the gym. But Phase 1 wasn't a huge shift in diet for me. I'd imagine if you have been eating really differently it will be a big adjustment and maybe exercise would be too much to add into the equation... but in your case you have already been seeing a trainer so it would probably be fine, you just might not be able to do as much as you were before until you adjust...
kasey - I am just starting this morning as well! Well, re-starting!
Emma - I didn't workout the first time around, but I really have been eating fairly close to phase 2 for the last month or so. I think I will give it a go, thanks for the input 2 pounds is good - especially if you don't have too much more to go! I am hoping to lose about 5-6 pounds, but 4 of those pounds were my gain from the summer.
For someone w/thryoid issues(slow),and over 50yrs. I figured 7lbs.at best. I was hoping for that best, and I got 10lbs. Lost!I'm stoked I do know that some of this is water..etc.etc. For a woman of the mid/older sect.,losing weight is so much more difficult..(believe me,) I use to be able to lose a pound a day when I was in my 20's/30's...Of course then I smoked and drank diet soda all day. This is a real treat that I have earned for myself. I'm very pleased. I've found a few good things to do/eat that I didn't do before so that may have made the difference. Anybody interested I'll list them. Hope all my chickie group is satisfied with their results as well. Now the plan is to cooooooooooooool it,and not go crazy into phase 2. choices~
Congratulations choices! I'm in the same boat as you (age wise) and have been thrilled with SB. It's the only plan I have been able to maintain on without constant hunger & thought of food all day!
Well I made it through Day 1! I think I was pretty successful! I made myself a hot cocoa for a snack this evening, and ended up having 2, not exactly what I planned - but I went coffee-free today! That was also NOT planned, I just bought coffee the other day and it was expired
Starting over again! Did well today and stuck to my lean meats and vegetables. I've decided to make excess veggies at dinner and have those for breakfast since I am REALLY sick of eggs. HAHA. I don't know if I'll ever eat eggs again.

choices I to have thryoid issues. I will be 50 in Feb and I agree with you it is like pulling teeth now to lose weight. I have been exercising since June 28th and watching what I am eating since July 19th. I have finally made the 10 lb mark. I did get off course a few times but still yet it is harder to loose as we get older.
So yest I would love to read any helpful hints you have.
Day 2 complete! I made it through despite some cravings and some temptations! They had coconut-chocolate things at work today, the hugest pile EVER, omg.. but I resisted Hopefully the scale is nicer to me tomorrow!
Yay for swimgirl - it couldn't have been easy to resist those chocolate-coconut treats. We had some friends over on Sunday and they brought a big box of fancy middle-eastern pastries (too sweet for my taste, which is saying a lot), and I made my husband take it all to his workplace. I almost feel bad about it when I think of the temptation it must have caused for the unsuspecting dieters who walked into THAT kitchen.
I fell off the wagon on Sunday night and because I was upset about it, I ate totally off plan on Monday. I don't see any change on the scale, so that's a relief and a great motivation boost to get back on track. So today, I'm back on hardcore Ph1 and I did really well. I even ate all the veggies I was supposed to eat. Usually, if I have an off day, I just continue with one bad day after another and that goes on for weeks, even months before I get serious about eating right again. I'll be on Ph1 for another couple of days, just to be sure my cravings are under control again.
Phase 1 is over and the grand total is.....7 lbs down. I was honestly hoping to be more towards the 13 lb. total, but I will take this! Especially since I got through TOM and stressful days at work. Today, I have some raspberries that I will be enjoying to transition me into Phase 2. Once I weigh in next week, I'll take stock of how the change affected me and make adjustments.
